Ep 23 / Kyle Orso - Race Director of River to River Relay and Tunnel Hill 10 Miler
May 17, 2022 Season 2 Episode 10
Tim Jarvis / Kyle Orso

Welcome to the Lace Up and Run Podcast. We believe in a fun and active lifestyle with a primary focus on running and hiking. There is a supply of bourbon in the podcast studio so there is pretty much a guarantee there might be some of Kentucky's finest consumed during the show.

Episode 23:
Our guest on the show is Kyle Orso. Kyle is the Race Director for the 80 Mile River to River Relay across Southern Illinois and the Tunnel Hill 10 Miler. Kyle has been the RD for Tunnel for two years now. The successful 2022 Relay event was year number one as RD.

Kyle talks about what it was like to be the first year RD and the logistics involved in putting together a relay that starts at the Mississippi River in Southern Illinois and finishes 80 miles later at the Ohio River.

Kyle explains the details in working with the various communities involved as the Relay rolls through their towns and cities, the number of volunteers it takes to pull off such an endeavour, and what he learned from his first year.
