Discovering your purpose before taking action creates the foundation for meaningful progress and prevents wasted effort in wrong directions. Taking time to establish your five-year vision gives you clear directional awareness that transforms daily decision-making.

• A two-millimeter shift changes your entire trajectory, just like one degree change in an airplane's path leads to a completely different destination
• Set aside 30-60 minutes to zoom out and determine where you want to go and why
• Look back at your top life experiences to understand what brings you fulfillment
• Create SMART goals that are specific, measurable, actionable, and aligned with your authentic self
• Identify both what you'll gain personally and how your purpose will benefit others

Speaker 1:

In this episode, we're going to discuss about why you should know your purpose before you dive in. There's so many times in our life where we move too quickly and make decisions too fast. Also, this is going to be under the five minutes or less category, so we're going to be done and you'll have actionable steps real, real soon. So the importance of this is and this comes back to 2018 for me I realized that without directional awareness, we don't know where we're going, and what I mean by that is you got to figure out your vision, which is your purpose, like what's your five-year vision? Where do you want to go? What direction do you want to go in?

Speaker 1:

And Tony Robbins always said a two millimeter shift will always will change the trajectory of everything. If you look at an airplane, if they move one degree, they're going to be in a completely different location, because you go for a long enough period of time and you're going to get there. So it's realizing one. What is it that you want? So start off with that big five-year vision. And for me, back in 2018, I dove into this and I realized I wanted to run a marathon, complete all four sections of the CPA and start a business, so it had the directional awareness. Then it's once you know what you want, then you kind of go after that and you take actionable steps to get there each and every day.

Speaker 1:

But the importance of knowing the why is because you've made a decision. Most of us don't take time to make the decision, so try to allocate 30 minutes to an hour where you can sit there, zoom out of your life and go. Where do I want to go and why? Why do I want to go in this direction? What am I going to get out of this, and what's it going to get out of for everybody else around me? So once you have the description of your life, then you can move towards that, and if you need help with that, you can reach out to Edwards Insulting and we can set up a complimentary coaching session.

Speaker 1:

Either way, though, it's so important to know your why and then go after that each and every day, make actionable steps towards that and make sure, when you set the goal, you want it to be very specific, you want it to be measurable, you want it to be actionable and you want to be able to work towards it, and it's got to align with who you are. You know what I mean. And the best way to figure this out is when you look backwards on your life. You say, what were my top experiences? What did I love the most? And you might have loved a vacation, or you might have loved a deal you did, or you might have loved starting to date the person you really enjoy. Whatever it is, you gotta figure out what it is and how to create that more in your life. So figure out your why. Figure out what's important to you, take inventory and then go set actionable steps so you can create the life of your dreams. And that is why you must discover your purpose. You got to know your why before you dive in. Thank you,
