#239 - You're a Fighter (5 Minute Friday)
What separates those who thrive from those who merely survive? The answer lies in adopting a fighter's mindset—a perspective that transforms how you approach life's challenges.
When life gets heavy, many of us default to checking out: complaining, mindless scrolling, or simply waiting for better conditions. But fighters create their own momentum. They find strength in messy situations and refuse to let difficult moments define them. This episode unpacks three powerful strategies to reclaim your fighting spirit when you find yourself drifting.
First, change your language. Eliminate "I can't" and "I'm tired" from your vocabulary and start speaking as someone who's weathered storms before. The simple phrase "This is tough, but I'm tougher" can completely reshape your approach to challenges. Second, prioritize physical movement—even on your off days. Fighters know that moving your body shifts your mindset, creating energy and clarity when you need it most. Finally, commit to doing one hard thing daily. Whether it's making that difficult call, having a necessary conversation, or sending the proposal you've been delaying, fighters build confidence through consistent action rather than waiting for motivation to strike.
The truth is, you don't need more motivation—you need a reminder of who you truly are. You're not soft. You're not average. You're a fighter. Today is your opportunity to step back into the ring and make your moments count. Ready to throw some punches?

Hey, it's Jordan here and we're back for 5-Minute Friday, which is a podcast under five minutes with three actionable tips. So what we're going to talk about today is simple but powerful. It's that you're a fighter, and not just someone who survives, but someone who shows up, throws punches and keeps moving forward. Now, we're using the fighter as an example here, but it's something to keep you on your feet. So when let's be real life gets heavy, there's days where you feel stuck, days where you complain, scroll, check out, but that's not who you are. You're a fighter.
Speaker 0:Fighters don't wait for the perfect conditions. They create momentum and they find strength in the mess and they refuse to let the moment define them. So you have to realize this that if you've been drifting, here's how to fight back. Three steps to do it. You want to change your language. For one, there's no more, I can't or I'm tired. You start speaking as someone who's been there, done that and you realize that this is tough, but I'm tougher. The second thing is you're going to move your body. So fighters train even on their off days. They take walks, do pushups, move their body and their mindset will follow, and then the last thing they do is one hard thing today. So call your client, have a conversation, send a proposal. Fighters build confidence through actions. So, whenever you are feeling down or out, build confidence through the actions and you don't need any more motivation. You just need a reminder of who you actually are. You're not soft, You're not average, you're a fighter. So today, get back in the ring and make the most of today. Let's get it.
