What if success isn’t a mystery but a math problem you can actually influence? We pull back the curtain on a simple system: control your inputs, accept your outcomes, and use data to iterate. Instead of chasing results you can’t command, we double down on actions you can repeat on your worst day—because consistency, not intensity, turns progress into something you can predict.

We share real-world stories from sales floors and fitness routines where unsustainable sprints—like 500 calls a day or daily two-hour workouts—lead straight to burnout. Then we reframe the game: define quality actions, set a minimum viable cadence, and schedule them like meetings you wouldn’t miss. You’ll hear why structured blocks, clear definitions of success, and lightweight accountability create momentum that survives dips in motivation. From recording sessions to gym habits, the theme is the same: rituals reduce friction, and rituals compound.

Once your baseline is steady, we advocate for short, “unreasonable” pushes that raise activity to a level where failure becomes improbable. After the push, we walk through the review cycle: what scaled well, what broke, and what to keep. The payoff is a tighter process and cleaner feedback, which together make outcomes more likely. To close, we guide you through a quick input audit—what you consume, tolerate, and repeat—and challenge you to align those inputs with the results you want, whether that’s more revenue, better health, or consistent creative output.

If this hit home, follow the show, share it with someone who sprints then stalls, and leave a review with your biggest input shift. Your next result starts with today’s repeatable action.

SPEAKER_00:

Hey, what's going on, guys? It's Jordan Edwards here and it's Five Minute Friday. And today we're going to be talking about controlling the inputs and accepting the outcomes. The reason I say this is because most of us here are business owners or we're in sales or we're just trying to get better in our lives. And the truth is that if we control what we can control, we all want these crazy outcomes, right? Like I want to make this much money this year. The truth is that you got to put in this much work, like, and you got to be consistent with it. And you're still not promised the outcome. So it's important for us to realize that because results are predictable when inputs are consistent. And that's I trained an insurance group, and the biggest challenge for all of them is staying consistent. We'll have people that want to come in and call 500 times a day, 500 people a day. Amazing. After like eight days, they're like, I'm so tired. I don't know how you do this. That's why you need to be calling 100 to 200. That's just in that scenario. Or even going to the gym, right? You want to go to the gym three days a week. It would probably make sense to control that instead of being like, I don't know, like I feel overweight and I don't know how to make a change. So it's important because our habits are the things that write our future. Your habits are gonna create your lifestyle. They're gonna create your dream life. And even here, like with this studio, with me recording right now, like I have a scheduled time that I meet with the studio every single week or every two weeks or whatever it is. It doesn't really matter. But it's just the more scheduling you have in your life, the more commitment you have, the more accountability you have, the better you're gonna show up. Because all we can do is control our inputs. The the outcomes are not guaranteed, but they are predictable. So the more we want you to, I want you to get to the point where you do such an unreasonable amount of work that it would be improbable for you to be successful. That's where I want you to get to. And then start to question hey, should I iterate this or should I change this or should I adjust this? Because when we own what we consume, tolerate, and repeat daily, it completely changes our life. And I want your life to change for the better. So the things we're gonna do is control the inputs. Take inventory. I want you to sit back after this podcast and I want you to go home and evaluate what are your inputs? What are your positive inputs that are moving your needle closer, moving your needle to the right direction that you want to do? And are they in alignment with your goals? So I could talk about this for days, but again, it's five minute Friday. So shoot me an email at jordan at edwards.consulting, and I'd love to hear about your takeaways from this and how this helped you. Thank you and have an amazing, amazing day.
