Feeling stuck can be confusing when your life looks good on paper. We talk about that exact tension: having the job you wanted, having friends, doing all the “right” things and still feeling empty. Instead of ignoring it, we treat it as a signal. That uneasy feeling often points to a bigger truth: fulfillment comes from alignment, not comfort, and alignment usually requires a decision that scares you.

We walk through the two catalysts that changed our trajectory. First, we set a clear goal with a real deadline: start a business by the end of the year, then put in reps even before everything made sense. Second, we put ourselves in a high-action environment by attending Grant Cardone’s conference in Miami, where the message became obvious fast: if you want to build a business and provide value, you have to share your message and actually help people. That shift turns “maybe someday” into “I’m starting now.”

From there, we trace how a practical skill set in accounting, personal finance, and financial literacy can become the foundation for coaching that goes far beyond money. We talk about building a North Star vision, strengthening mindset, supporting mental health and physical health, improving relationships, and staying grounded in service, community, and purpose. We also keep it real about the messy beginning: no sales system, no polished funnel, getting paid through Venmo, then evolving step by step. If you’re researching how to start a coaching business, how to start a side hustle, or how to stop overthinking and take action, this is your reminder to build brick by brick.

The decision that changed my life and one that most people are afraid to make. This is Jordan with Five Minute Friday, where I'm gonna give you the insights, the things you need to be successful. And I want to get I want to be a little personal here. I want to share a story with you guys. I want to share with you how I got into coaching and what occurred there. In my life at that time, I had the dream job that I wanted. I had the friends, I was doing the stuff, and I still felt empty. I still felt like I was missing something. And the catalyst that truly changed things for me was that two things, twofold. One was that I set the goal at the beginning of the year. It was 2018, going into 2019, and I decided that I was going to start a business. I was going to do a business. I was going to do something. So that was the decision. By the end of the year, I needed to have something in place. And then the other big

catalyst for me was one, making the decision and putting reps towards it. And then two, the second decision that really affected that was actually going to a conference. I went to Grand Cardone's Conference, Miami in 2019 in February. And at that point, I was just trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Everyone there was selling something and

I had nothing to sell. And I started to realize pretty quickly that if I wanted to be have a business, if I wanted to provide value, if I wanted to do something, I had to start to share my message. I had to help people. I had to help them on their journey. And where I really found my expertise was in accounting.

Setting The Business Goal

I had financial, I really enjoyed financial literacy. I enjoyed personal finance. So I'm like, I'll help people with finances. And what that became was much bigger than that, where it's we're helping them build craft a vision, a North Star, mental health, physical health, community service, philanthropy, spirituality, and relationships. But what it really is, it's really helping people have the proper perspective so that they understand the work that's required to create the life that they want so that they're not going down a lane that they don't want to go. And once

The Conference That Clarified Purpose

I made these decisions, that I'm going to start offering this to people, I'm going to start helping people. I'm going to start seeing who I can get to work with me. And I did it without a sales system, without anything. I just started working and people would Venmo me in the beginning. And then you start taking payments. Then you get cards on file. And it's a process. But I'm telling you, it's worth it. And it's worth it to get started. And most of us are too scared to start little because we think it's got to be this huge thing that's going to have to replace our job. But the truth is for me, it started out very little. And it completely build and build and build. And that's where you go brick by brick by brick to create

the life that you actually want. It's taking one step at a time. And that's what I did. And I hope this podcast and this five minute Friday makes you take that one step at a time. Thank you.
