15-year-old Canadian teenager Mélanie Ethier disappeared on the night of Saturday, September 28, 1996. She was last seen around 2 a.m., walking home after spending the evening at a friend’s house, where they had watched a movie. Several suspects were later identified by investigators, including two half-brothers involved in drug activity, the occupants of a suspicious white van who had made several locals uncomfortable, and the boyfriend of Mélanie’s mother's best friend, who was seen with unexplained scratch marks on his arms shortly after Mélanie’s disappearance.
