So today, my question for you is, how do you see yourself? More importantly, is how you see yourself hindering your growth? It's a big question. But it's one that if you want growth, if you want clarity, if you want release deliverance, we've got to address this question. So today we're going to be diving into various aspects of this question, and giving you some ideas and some action steps that you can take to help yourself if you feel like this is you. You're going through this right now, like I want to go somewhere I want to grow, but I feel like I am in my own way. Or maybe you don't even realize that you're in your own way yet, but you feel like stuck. There's just something there. So you may want to grab something to take notes with gab, your coffee, your tea, your soda, whatever it is you're drinking, and let's go ahead and dive right in.

Worth It! Intro:

Welcome to worth it. The podcast where we answer anxiety, deflate fear, and shut down shame, because ain't no woman got time for that you were made to thrive. My mission is to help you get deeply rooted with God and reclaim your weapon that the enemy of God has been using against you. After going to battle for my own mind. Three years ago, I realized that there is a war going on for our minds. A battle that begins with how we think, says you have much more control than you realize. With each episode, you'll learn how to fight back and become more confident in the truth that God already knows. You are worth it. I'm Michelle Remington, Christian mindset coach, thought strategist, and warrior Mama. Grab your son or daughter of the king, it's time to unleash your inner warrior princess.

Michelle Remington:

Welcome, Welcome back, you beautiful warrior woman you? Yes, yes, I'm talking to you just get used to it, you are a beautiful warrior woman, you might even want to look at yourself in the mirror and say I am a beautiful warrior woman. I don't know, that may be a bit too much right now, before we get started, I do want to let you know that this is actually going to be a two parter. There's a lot in this subject that we're talking about today and how you see yourself how it affects your journey. And so this is a two parter. So at the end of this, just make sure that you look for part two of this episode. And I hope you enjoy time to get back to the show. Today we're diving into a subject that I have to say has kinda had me perplexed for some time. And just to kind of give a little update, you know, what's been going on with me, I've literally just been taking my own advice, and making sure that everything that I'm telling you that is helpful to do, and I've, I've done it before, and I might be doing things a little differently as I grow. But I still want to make sure that if I'm telling you to do something, or suggesting something for you to do that, I'm doing it myself. And I know it works because I'm doing it myself. So that's kind of where I've been the last three weeks is just really getting that balance of you know, emotional health, mental health, spiritual health. And now physical health. He yay Latin dancing. Give me a holler if you're doing Latin dancing, by the way. So that is where I've been. And I've kind of been perplexed by this question, because probably about four weeks ago, I was creating another podcast talking about the Proverbs 31 woman. And it just got me thinking and so I was gonna do a whole other episode had it all recorded, but you know what, I could not release it because it just did not feel right. It wasn't getting to the message, the point of where God wanted me to present it for you, or even where I needed to be with that. So that's what we're getting into getting into today. This is like a delayed message delayed by the Lord because I had to get through some things to be able to present this to you so that God can reach you where you are right now. So I mentioned the Proverbs 31 Women and this isn't necessarily all going to be about the Proverbs 31 woman. But basically in summary, what happened is that I was like reading about the Proverbs 31. Woman, and then it just kind of struck me like, okay, I used to hate hearing about the Proverbs 31 woman because I was like, I am just not her. And that just got me thinking, like, what is that all about? If you look at the Proverbs 31 woman, she's a regular woman working hard to take care of herself and her family. And in reality, that's really all of us. Each of us are a proverbs 31. Woman, you may not have everything that is listed in that particular proverb that the Proverbs 31 woman had, but you're still working hard to take care of yourself, your family, your circle, everything in your responsibility, and really got me thinking of just this mindset that we get about either the Proverbs 31 woman, or maybe it's somebody that we see on social media, or somebody that we know in real life that just seems to have all together, they're like, the perfect person, and you're just like, you know what, I'm just never gonna be her. And I started just kind of taking a look and realizing that the only difference between you in that perfect person, quotations, perfect person that just seems unattainable to you, is perception. That's really the only difference between you and this, Proverbs 31, perfect woman in your life. And it just really got me thinking about how we see ourselves. And this really gets into the message of who God says you are, that you are loved. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are created by the Almighty God. I mean, if you read the scriptures, and think of all the things that God has done for his people, so that they can have salvation, honey, you are his people. And you need to hear that you need to recognize that if you have a relationship with God, and God is working in your life, you are his people, you are part of his plan, from the beginnings of the world, from Adam and Eve, you were part of his plan, you are his people. And that's really where I want to take us today. And really, where I want to take our perspective of how we see ourselves and how that's really broken down, just in the day to day life that we have right here right now, and 2021. So we're taking a modern look at this proverbs 31 woman, and really just taking a look at the truth of the Scriptures that is timeless, and how it affects how we really should be seeing ourselves. I'll ask you this, because this is one of my exercises that I have people do to really just help them to see themselves more clearly. So first thing you do is take your most prominent thought about yourself. Most often, it's a negative thought that is prevalent in your brain. Most of the day, when you think about yourself, it's this negative thought I want you to write that down. And you can do this several times, there may be several things that you think about yourself, just write those down, because we're exposing fraud, we're exposing those lies right now. So write that prevalent site down, and then really look at it, read it out loud to yourself. So for myself, when I was going through this, the main thought was, I am worthless. And you know, I just kept telling myself that and what I didn't realize at the time was that every time I told myself that it was just ingraining it more and more into my heart in my mind. And it wasn't until God really just started working on me and chipping away I was like God here you can have the keys to this temple, you got the keys, do whatever work you need to do. And that is when God like really got to work. So then I'm starting to look at how I'm looking at myself and I start these exercises and write down this prevalent thought of I am worthless, and then I'm just looking at it and I'm thinking about it. I'm like Who does God say I am? Does God actually say this in the scriptures? And the reason why we're, we're asking is this who God says I am, is because God is our Creator. He's the one that knows more about you than you know about yourself. He knows every single facet of you. And he knows every single possibility that he has created for you, because he is the all mighty, omnipotent creator, he knows everything about you, your past, your present, and your future. So that's why we take these prevalent thoughts to the Lord, and we take them to his living word that he has given us. And we can take that Living Word and really look at the truth of what that prevalent thought is. So obviously, if I look in the Scriptures, I'm not going to find it say that you are worthless, I'm going to find it say that I am worth more than rubies as a woman of God that I was thought worth the price that Jesus paid to die on the cross so that I could have the opportunity to live an eternal life with him in heaven. There's so much truth in the Scripture, that we can literally use that to combat those negative thoughts that are prevalent in our minds that plague us day in and day out. And they're basically the operators of that emotional roller coaster. We need to fire that operator and not feel bad about that. Sorry, not sorry. Actually jubilant! So as we move forward with this, and you look at that prevalent thought, take it to the Scripture, what does God's word say about whatever that prevalent thought is? Maybe it's, I am unlovable to you, girl. Let me tell you, there's so much in the scriptures that say that you are absolutely loved. And there's absolute truth that you can find there. Now, the other thing that I wonder about when I think about those prevalent thoughts is, Where is that coming from. And usually, it's something that you have started to believe, but it's because of influences that are coming either from the world or spiritual warfare, and we're talking the enemy of God, I'm not going to name that enemy, Oh, God, because I will glorify God, and even just identifying that. So a lot of times, those negative thoughts are actually fed by things that we believe from either the world or spiritual warfare. And pretty much it's all spiritual warfare. Because the enemy of God is the enemy of our souls, he just wants to take us out so that God doesn't have us in heaven. That's basically it. And God is giving us these tools that we can use to combat that. And so that is the basis that's that's the reason for this podcast. Because if I can equipped you, with these tools, and help you understand how you can combat these battle tactics that are being used against you, you're going to be all the better and you're going to be closer to God, because of it. That is the ultimate goal. I want you to have the ultimate best relationship with God ever, and continuing to grow beyond your wildest imagination. So if you ever wonder what my motive is, that's it. So let me ask you, we know the scripture in Jeremiah 2911. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. So we know that scripture and in times of trouble and times of fear and worry, a lot of times, that's a scripture that we hold on to, you know what, like, I'm going through a hard time but God says, I know the plans I have for you. But I want to look at that in a slightly different perspective right now and ask you how are you ever going to achieve the plans that God has for you, if you're still allowing your thoughts to be influenced by God's enemy? And at first, I don't know you may think Well, no, I'm not letting him affect me. But the enemy has subtle, very subtle and uses many means to try to influence us in try to break us down. And so we have to be as the scripture says, circumspect, watching. We have to watch our gates, our eyes or ears or in our mouth, we have to watch our gates, guard our gates, and just really start to limit or just safeguard yourself. It's basically like what people say when they're trying to stay away from toxic situations or toxic people. It's the same thing. But it's with a spiritual eye and recognizing the enemies games and how the enemy works. And one, once you learn emotional intelligence, which is a lot of what I'm trying to teach you here, once you begin to learn about emotional intelligence, your eyes are going to be open, and you're going to be able to see like, Oh, that's what's going on here. Like, you're, you're literally getting inside the enemy's planning meeting, and being able to see what kind of tactics are being used on you. And that's gonna make you all the more stronger, and all the more closer to God. I mean, this is gonna be I mean, this is life changing. It was absolutely life changing. For me, this is what took me God working in me and showing me this after I was in a place where I literally was ready to end my life. And I called out to God because I knew it wasn't right. And I didn't know what else to do. And gotcha right up right there. In that moment, when I called out in when I asked him to begin working in me and showing me how he was going to work in me what future I had with him. That's when he began to show me and I began to learn about and learn how to use emotional intelligence. It is an absolute game changer. And it may not sound like it's something that is spiritual warfare, but it really is. It's giving you a weapon in the battle and a brand new weapon in the battle, brand new defense in the battle that you can use to defend yourself. And basically its offense and its defense, but we're learning how to use it as offense right now. Because God is our defense. And he's like the best Okay, I ain't nobody can go up against God. No. Yeah, that didn't work the first time he tried it. I don't know why he's trying again. Anyway, moving on. Okay, so this is where we're going to end the first part of this episode. And don't worry, I have uploaded both parts of this episode at the same time. So just take a moment find the next episode. I've got some awesome tools for you some more encouragement of course coming your way. And I hope you enjoy. Thank you for joining me on this episode of worth it.
