No One Can Duplicate "You"...
Some say imitation is a form of flattery... That has never sat well with me. Being a creative person that really puts the work into understanding myself, into seeing the world through a broader lens, that's intentional about creating and experiencing life in a way that inspires a impactful expression -- it kind of ticks me off when I see my "vibe" trying to be packaged by individuals other than myself... Like really? Inspiration is one thing, but being a carbon copy of someone is kinda creepy.
I hope you could feel my frustration in what I just wrote. (Not my typical kinda post, kinda taboo, but this is where I am today). It's real and I'm being honest. But also something that I have to work on overcoming. I peep the malice but I have to not let it slow me down or get under my skin. I also have to not give into the urge to compete with what I see out of some sense of vengeance. My mantra or affirmation has to be that "NO ONE CAN DUPLICATE ME..." "What God has for Me is for ME..." So I acknowledge my feelings but I don't let them get the best of me. But in the past it has grind my gears!
Now I monitor what and how I share things. I'm also understanding that we're in a social space where nothing is off limits, moral codes and ethics are basically extinct. It's a every person for his or herself attitude in the atmosphere, so selfishness and opportunistic tendies are starting to overshadow everyday love and respect for humanity. Do we cry about it and go into a shell? Maybe, but don't stay there. What we also do is keep reminding ourselves that we are all created with a unique purpose - our mission is to continue doing the work that causes us to Show Up as our authentic selves.. Always... No matter who's copying.
