Estate Planning Awareness Week

The third week of October is always Estate Planning Awareness Week.  If you're like me, you're tired of being told what to be aware of.  Someone is always telling me I need to be aware of some social issue that doesn't really impact me.

But this one does.  Estate Planning does impact you.  Unless you know something I don't, we will all eventually need an estate plan.  We will all have an illness.  We will all eventually pass away. This isn't optional.

What is optional is whether you have a plan when things do go wrong.  Most adult Americans never plan.  This is why you'll hear people say "boy when my Dad passed away, it was a mess!".  
It was a mess because Dad didn't do an estate plan or didn't have a good estate plan.  Don't let this be your fate.  Don't let them tell stories about how you didn't plan well.  Let's get it done and let's get it done correctly.
