Stop Quitting And Start Choosing

SPEAKER_00

If you want to free yourself from alcohol, if you want to get to a place where you can take it or leave it whenever you want, but you always choose to leave it and there's no fight and no struggle, you need to stop quitting alcohol. You need to stop trying to stop and replace it with something else. And today in this video, I'm going to show you exactly what to do so you can stop quitting and just start living a life of freedom. It'll all make sense. You'll be thinking, that's what was missing. That's what I needed to do. And I know this to work because I've helped 500 clients do this now in my coaching company, soberclear.com. If we've not met yet, my name is Leon Sylvester. I drank for almost 10 years, trying everything AA, begging God to help me, books, willpower. None of it worked. But for just under eight years, I've not touched a drop and I have no desire to drink. So what I'm gonna teach you is battle tested, right? I've used it, I've helped other people use it, and I'm gonna show you what to do as well. And it's simple. And in fact, you might be kicking yourself after watching this, thinking, ah.

Why The Quit Relapse Cycle Happens

SPEAKER_00

So let's dial it back. How many people tried to quit alcohol and failed? How many times have you done this? How many times have I done it? More times than I can count. It's the vast majority of people. We wake up one day after a night of boozing, we don't feel great, we're hungover, the energy's not good, we've had an argument, we've done something that we regret, and we tell ourselves, I'm done. I'm not drinking anymore. And a period of time passes. An hour, a week, a month, five years. I don't know how long that is for you. But eventually, you quit alcohol and then something brings you back. And I'm estimating that 99% of people that drink alcohol have gone through that cycle at least once. It's very rare that somebody has a hangover one day, stops drinking, and never drinks again. Most people are stuck in a chain reaction of drinking alcohol that never ends. But maybe you should do something different. So, what can you do instead? What did I do? What have I helped my clients do? Well, we flip it.

Sacrifice Thinking Fuels Cravings

SPEAKER_00

Because I never quit drinking alcohol. See, I can drink as much alcohol as I choose to. It just so happens that I have chosen to drink zero for eight years or coming up to eight years. And that's despite struggling for 10 years. So let's just go to another layer. Because if I'm able to do that after struggling for so long, what's happening? Well, I stopped trying to quit alcohol. When you tell yourself that you're quitting alcohol, you're communicating something deeper. You're telling yourself that you are giving something up. You're communicating with yourself that you're making a sacrifice. And that makes sense. That's why so many people crave alcohol. It's why so many people relapse. It's why so many people say, just use more willpower. Because deep in their mind, they see alcohol as something that helps them, helps them relax, helps them socialize, helps them, I don't know, whatever. In their head, they believe that alcohol is something that you need to give up. And people cling. They cling to it. How hard would it be for you to give up drinking milk? If you woke up one day with a bad stomach because you had a pint of milk and you realized, okay, well, drink this substance, bad thing happens, stop drinking the substance. It'd be like that. So why is it not that simple with alcohol? But let me ask you it this a different way. What are you giving up? And this might sound boastful, but it I'm not trying to boast, but I'm trying to give you an alternative

The Exchange That Changes Everything

SPEAKER_00

viewpoint. But what did I give up eight years ago when I stopped drinking? I've traveled the entire world, I've built an online business, I've been able to live in all sorts of different countries, I've gotten married, I've got in the best shape ever, I got stronger than I've ever been, I've made some amazing friends. So how did I give anything up? In fact, what I was doing by drinking alcohol was giving up all of those things: the health, the business, the relationship. I gave up all of that to continue drinking this drug. Because there's no way I would have done 10% of the things I've done over the past 10 years if I kept poisoning myself. I don't even know if I'd still be alive. Oh, that's a that's a crazy thought. I don't even know if I'd still be alive. So how did I give anything up? How did I give up alcohol? There was nothing to give up. And that's the reframe you've got to make. See, I changed how I viewed alcohol. I broke the problem down into its first principles. I studied all the individual component parts of alcohol and addiction until I got to a place where I realized there's nothing to give up. In fact, you might have heard this in popular stop drinking books. See, what happened is instead of seeing me as giving up alcohol, I saw myself as making an exchange. I saw myself as exchanging this poison, this cancer-causing, disgusting tasting drink that was robbing me of my confidence, my energy, my ability to help people. It was robbing me of so much. I was exchanging this for a life of freedom, for a life of happiness. What's the to give up? You've got to stop trying to give up alcohol and make the exchange. Exchange this rotten poison for the life of your dreams. Because there's a version of you that doesn't drink that's killing it. And they don't miss it. That's the key here. You need to get yourself into a state of mind where you're so clear that alcohol adds nothing to your life, that there's truly nothing to give up. One day you'll see stopping drinking is the same as stopping drinking milk. Logical, simple, easy. Why wouldn't you? And you'll see it as something as why would you even bother
