Your Podcast Isn’t a Performance—It’s a Relationship With Boundaries | #264
Jen Rogers, Podcast Strategist: You know that expression when you get a wild hair? Yeah, me too. In, in fact, I got a wild hair, which is exactly why I am recording five super short episodes this week that will help you improve your podcast. So there is a quick listen and then one quick action item you can take to improve your podcast.
Are you in? Are you ready? Alright, let's do it. Hey there, I'm Jen Rogers, your Hostess with the Mostest, and I believe podcasting is key to your business success. You do not need a million, bajillion followers. You really don't. What you need to grow your business are real relationships, genuine relationships. That's why in today's episode, I'll give you one action step to nurture your relationships with your audience. Are you ready to do it? Alright, let's hop to it.
[00:01:00] This tip is super easy and won't take you much time. You can accomplish this in under five minutes.
The mechanism you choose will depend on the resources that you already have set up to serve your community. If you don't have a community set up, then you'll need to use your email list or reach out to people that you're friends with on one of your socials.
Here's what you can do to nurture genuine relationships. Invite people into a 15-minute conversation with you. There's no sales pitch. It's a quick 15-minute conversation to invite people into a connection conversation with you. This is definitely not a sales call.
On these connection calls, you'll ask them to share what is it that they need most right now to move forward in whatever it is that they do.
So if you are teaching macros and they're struggling with implementing [00:02:00] some of the strategies that you've been giving on your show, then you'll learn a little bit more about what that hurdle is, and you can give the recommendation right there on the call so you can give them something of value without asking for anything.
And then you can take that something of value and turn it into one of your podcast episodes or turn it into content when you guest on a show so you can share more about that: some of the common questions I receive are, and those common questions you receive will come from these 15 minute quick connection conversations.
The way we build trust is through connection. That's why this nurture strategy will work for you, as you monetize every podcast episode.
