Jimmy staying put, Wilson gets mega extension, Araiza cut amongst allegations, Gruden speaks
Transcript

Welcome back everyone you have officially entered the axis. Yes, that is the axis of football Kuro Savi alongside my cohost char port donk a week from today, football is coming, but no shortage of headlines to talk about between now and then some quarterback news coming out, Jimmy G what's happening with. A massive extension for a notable quarterback out west, some disturbing allegations coming out about another NFL player. Gruden breaks his silence since the fiasco of his emails came out last year and much, much more to cover in this week of the axis of football. But sure. Let's start off with the quarterbacks. Quarterbacks stories are really what drive the NFL news cycle. And look, there's a couple who wanna talk about, let's start with Jimmy Guo. The Shago we've been talking about all summer. He was the last cubie really to not get his seat in the musical chairs. And we pretty much thought, Hey, Niners, probably gonna release him. There's no trade market, but they actually end up hanging on to your guy, Mr. Pretty face. Jimmy G and he will be staying in San Francisco on a one year restructured contract. It's gonna be a cap charge of about 13.9 million, but the more important piece for SF it frees up 12 million in cap space for them as well, making him the highest paid backup in the league one year rental. So the Niners in the short term have some security at cor backup quarterback. They free up some cap space. Keep Jimmy in for Jimmy. He perhaps now gets to answer next year's market and maybe have more of an opportunity than he does today. One thing. Sure. I'll say before, I want your take on this. This decision came fresh off the heels of the Niners third and final preseason game at the Houston Texans that we're going against the Texans second team defense, notably without all the starters on the offensive line, but Trey, Lance. Got that start in the first half did not play particularly well. Seven of 11 Orine yards. Didn't generate any points. Miss some throws. He just didn't look like the way. Maybe you want a new starter looking, going into a regular season. Some people are saying no big deal. It's pre-season. I personally am of the view that had trail lands had a better showing in that game. There would be much less urgency to make this move. And the Niners are thinking, Hey, we've got a super bowl ready roster. Why mess it up by messing up the quarterback position and let's get some insurance here. What do you make of this resigning of Jimmy G on a one year deal for them? I, I don't, I don't like it. I don't like it at all because look, you're you, you gotta make a decision and go, it seems like the 49ers wanna you know, kind of like keep one foot in one foot out and not know what they're doing. You've made your choice to go with a young guy, right. Or wrong decision. You just gotta go with it. You gotta move forward. You can't, especially, especially with a guy like Jimmy G who half the locker room seems to really push for him to become a starter. So that's the thing, right? Yeah, it, it it's, I, I don't, I don't like it at all. Because if you look, if you're trying to go for a super world now, Then you, then you should have, you should have wasted. You should have used that third pick of the draft to go get yourself Jamar chase, you know, imagine how he would've done. Well. I think perhaps they expected Trey Lance to be more ready than perhaps he is today. When they made that pick. I got two questions for you. Number one is kind of what you just mentioned and alluded to is the impact on the locker room. This has in light of some of the veteran support Jimmy's had, you know, over the. And then secondarily, it's this issue of, you know, is there a correlation between this decision and what happened in that third preseason game? A lot of my friends who are diner fans, don't, don't like that. I'm saying that they're saying, well, they would've done it anyway. I don't believe that. I think that third game was a dress rehearsal game. Lance didn't look particularly good. And the Niners didn't feel C. Going into the season with him as the guy necessarily. And so Jimmy is an insurance policy, a guy you've won with, you know, you've got a great roster. Why not just hedge your bets a little bit there now to your point, the, the other side of that as well, does it create an issue in the locker room? So two questions for you as an O Wineman put yourself in that locker room, you know, maybe somebody who's play with Jimmy respect. But also now Lance is a starter. How are you kind of handling that? And is it crazy to say there's a correlation between that third game performance and, and this decision? No, there's, it's not crazy to say so, but if that's the case, I I'm gonna question every single one of the 49ers front office moves, because if you may, you can't look, I understand having concerns about going moving forward based. That third preseason game. I, I get it, but I don't think you go and change it up like this. Like, like what did it serve for you to do this? Unless if you're trying to tell me that it really helped them with the cap I, I, I, I get it, which, which you're saying you did, but, but in that case, you know, kind of, kind of give him an excuse to not come, you know? Well, and, and that's the thing is if, like, if some nine fans are saying, well, they were gonna do this all along. Well, then why did you basically kick Jimmy out of the building? You know, during training camp, cuz you didn't wanna risk of getting injured. Right. This clearly wasn't the plan from the beginning was a pivot. Right? Okay. So it was absolutely a pivot on insurance pivot, which I don't like, so. Okay. So let's so we've established, we agree that, okay. This is probably a, a move tied to not feeling that Trey is as ready as you'd like him to be right now. Okay. Table that moving forward. Now other Niner fans I've talked. Their issue goes well, shoot, I, I, I don't like the move because I would just like to move forward with the trail Lance era. Even if he's not fully ready, let's not have him begin his career as a starter with the shadow of the guy before looming over him. What do you say about that? And how does that actually go over in a locker room? You think sharp? I, I, 100% agree with him. Well, the people that are saying that right or wrong, you gotta move forward with this and give the kid a chance. Give the kid a chance to be a starter. Give him the opportunity to take the team over. And, and, you know, not have a big shadow looming over his, you know, over his head because here's one thing. It has nothing to do with toughness of Trey, Lance. Like whether Jimmy is there or not, what's gonna do gonna divide the locker room. This is gonna absolutely divide their locker room. You're gonna, as soon as the guy makes a mistake, you're gonna hear grumblings. You're gonna hear people yelling his name and, and everything. So it it's, it's just, it's it's not a good move. It's not in my eyes. It's not a good move because you have automatically divided that locker room right now as a teammate of trails. Is there anything that you would do. To keep his confidence up when they announce his decision, do you go to him and say, Hey, you're our guy. Is there anything you do there? Or do you just kind of let it be, how would you handle this as a team? You know, I would basically go to him and say, Hey, still your team nothing's changed. You know this, this is you, man, it's you. And and, and trade land is gonna say all the right things say, yeah, I got you. I know. But no matter what you say, it's like, come on. It it's. Well, the thing is for trade lands, he still has job security. Like there's no reality where. Trail Lance isn't the starter, right? It's not, no, it's not, it's not a matter of that. It's not a matter, but it's more for like the, the, the context of like this year in particular, they've got a really nice super bowl ready roster. Does it change? And I also, that makes me wonder too sure. Like, I wonder what that discussion with Shanahan was like, like, what does Shanahan go like, Hey, Hey Trey. It's like you said, it's your. We try to trade. Jimmy couldn't get any value. It made more sense organizationally, for us to keep him here on our discount. Just for one more year, like you explain that logic to Trey, or you not even bothered with the conversation. No, you say you say, Hey, listen kid, this is your, this is your team. And as a professional, you need, you need to be a professional and you need to head like, so you basically tell me what I would say to Trey as a, as a coach. This is what I would say. I, I would say there's gonna be a lot of times in your career where situations aren't gonna be perfect for you, and you're gonna have to play under pressure, play under pressure. This, this is your job. Play, get, get it done, get it done. And I'm wondering if I'm Jimmy too, like do I does part of me hope I get to come in and play at some point to almost prove the Niners. Like you, you should not be over me or is he saying, you know what? I'm over the Niners. Cool. I'm still making good money as the highest paid backup on a rental. And I'm excited to give the new team next year. No. You think, you think the competitor in him is gonna want to get in? At some point, you're gonna look, he's gonna do the right things. He's gonna clap. He's gonna cheer the offense on. He's gonna talk to Trey, Lance. He's gonna do all the right things because if he doesn't, if he standoffish, if he is detached, everybody's it's gonna fuck his prospects for next year, too. Exactly. I do it smart. Well, no, cause there are some stupid people that do this. Sure. He's smart enough. He's smart enough not to do this. All right. So he's gonna he, he. He's gonna say all the right things, do all the right things. He's gonna clap. He's gonna talk, he's gonna talk to talk to trail Lance and back him up and look a mobile portal all while hoping he still gets to get in at some point. It's not a matter if you're hoping, but, but excited about the opportunity because you know, is it, are, are you willing to bet your life that, that Jimmy, G's not gonna start a game this year. I mean, there's not a lot of things that been my life on, but that definitely wouldn't be one of them. Point my point is this is that he's get some point at some point he's, there's gonna be an opportunity for him to go in and do his thing. You have to let, and this is thing you have to let the kid take his lumps. Oh, absolutely. What, what you can't do is panic and all of a sudden for a quarter for a half, put Jimmy. Because I, I really do believe that if you take the Niners core, what they've done on both sides of the ball, the team around the quarterback, and then you put in, you know, a, a, a, a big bodied cannon arm running threat quarterback that can actually is potential physically. That's a super scary team. Right. So I almost feel like even if he's struggling early, Let him take the lumps because the long term payoff of that December, January could be massive. Whereas if you, if you get afraid and pull'em early, cuz you don't wanna screw it up early in the season, you actually might not be doing the best thing for your team long term. You know, that makes sense. I, I know it's kind of like, do I sacrifice a couple of losses? I think you do for the potential upside and, and you have to believe in the upside because that's why you took the guy at number three. So I don't know. I would think that Lance would have to struggle very mightily, not just struggle, but struggle, very mightily for them to even consider pulling him. Like, if, if we're on the brink of playoff elimination, we're in November. Right. And we're, we're on the bad side of 500 then, then maybe. Okay. But to me, Lance has gotta be able to, to gotta give the kid, the patients you're gonna be struggl. Well, yeah, I mean, you said it, there's nothing for me to add to that. I mean, it's absolutely right. Yeah. But, but, but to your point, would you bet your life, he's not gonna start a game? I don't, I don't know. I mean, sometimes coaches panic and, and do things right. And. It's very comfortable to fall back into we'll shoot. If he's struggling, the only way I, I know what I got in Jimmy, I know least I know what I have in him. It's not a matter of what, what, you know, what you got in Jimmy. It's, it's a matter of, you're gonna pull him remember a couple years ago when the, when cam was playing well for the Patriots and, and they pulled him and. And they were literally pulling him because they thought, you know, there's no reason for us to put him out that you get hurt. He's the game is lost, just, you know, and, and he's our starter next week. That's the only way I can see it happening is, is like where he's having such a mental breakdown. Right. Or, you know, and, and, and you pull him just for his own safety. Hey, we call we, we call this a loss. We're gonna pull you out. We're gonna, we're gonna start again next week. That's the only way you can do it. If you pull him because you don't think you're gonna win, you know, you need, you need to be able to have him lose games for you, if that's gonna be your quarterback of the future. And, and, and as we're talking about this, this is the last thing I'll say, but then it makes me wonder why even if, if this is solely if I, if, if I know I'm ride with Lance ride or die with Lance, this here, just, just to make, make sure he knows we're behind. Why bring back Jimmy for a year. Exactly. That's why it's not like, it's not like they're gonna be able to trade him next year because he's gonna be a free agent when this contract expires. So you, you're not gonna, they might be able, they might be able to trade him in the middle of the year though. That's still on the table. That's fair. That's fair. And, and maybe this buys him some runway, but like in, in lieu of that, yeah, I, I, I understand the Niner fans who. I don't like it because we need to get Lance out of his shadow. But I do understand it from the standpoint of man, if he's like, really just not ready, like so raw that it's gonna push risk. No, that's, if that's the case, you bring Jimmy back and you let Jimmy start. Yeah, straight up. You let Jimmy start because then, then what she can do. What she can do is say, look, Trey, isn't ready. We're not gonna put this pressure on him. We're gonna bring Jimmy back and we're gonna hit reset on the season. We're gonna try again next year. That's how you do, right. But, but then you could argue that that, that might have a long term effect on Trey's confidence, even if you're gonna go back to him next year. No, no, because, because what you're doing, you're saying, Hey, you're not ready yet kid. And then halfway through the season, you can try to work him. Yeah. Where, where he, when he gains the start, where he gains the starting job and for next year, he's like, that's right. I got the, I got the win, but if he gets pulled for Jimmy, come on, it's it's gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough. Tough, indeed. So that's the latest, that's kind of the, you know, Mayfield went to Carolina. Niners started out with Jimmy. The other part of this too, is there was reports that Seattle was very interested in. Jimmy, should he free up and, and kind of based on the way we've seen genome Smith and drew lock play in the preseason. I can see why. So part of this was perhaps the Niners wanted to play, keep away from a division rival as well. But again, like there's no telling Jimmy might end up seeing Seattle next year anyway. Right? So be that as it may, the Jimmy G saw us close every quarterback's got, got a spot we can move on from that. And sharp. Speaking of quarterbacks, Russell Wilson obviously signed with the Denver Broncos. This off season had a year left on its current. As of this morning, officially inked a five year, 245 million extension, 165 million guaranteed. It's not a fully guaranteed contract with Deshaun Watson. Got, however, when you look at the top, Eche on a quarterbacks, Aaron Rogers, recent extension, putting him at 50 million per. Wilson coming just below that your thoughts on this extension for Russell Wilson, we knew that Broncos were gonna do this at some point, your thoughts on the numbers and what this means for, for Russ and the Broncos going. I, I like a lot. I mean, here's the thing I don't know about the state of their salary cap and, and I don't know what that's, you know, what that's gonna do for, for other things, but the, but the Broncos are ready to win now. I mean, phenomenal defense beyond just having phenomenal defense, having great debt in their defensive, especially their back field, their, their defensive back. So you got. God, you just got player after player, after player, that that, that can step in and play. You have two great running backs. You have the veteran, who's still very talented. Melvin Gordon, you know, don't do not count odd. Melvin Gordon agreed. Agreed. He's still, he's still young. He's still under 30. I mean, Melvin Gordon is still under 30 and, and, and look I, I did a little research last year where I showed you when Melvin Gordon out carried GTE Williams. They actually outscore their opponents by wider margin. I, I don't know, you know, causation correlation, whatever it might be. But my point is two grade running backs. Young one, a veteran one, you, you have a stable of receivers that I don't even know who their white receiver one is gonna be. You know? I mean, Corland SU and Jerry, Judy K Jerry. I mean, I mean, pick your poison there. Exactly. We talked about the, and that's the offense. I mean, we know they're loaded on defense to the, no, I started with the defense. Think that they're they have so much death, if this's phenomenal. Well, don't forget. They added Randy Gregory as well. So like, yeah, there, there you go. This team is just they're stacked and yeah, we, we knew they were gonna do this at some. With with Wilson and, and they did, they made the move and he's gonna be in Denver for a long time. They got a great team around him. And now you get to go into the season with full confidence that you've taken care of your guy. They, it took him about, I think, five months to get to this, to this to this deal. What they're saying though, is, is it doesn't do the quarterback market a favor because it, it now basically kind of makes Deshaun Watson's contract seem. Anomaly being folded, guaranteed. I think recently Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are a bit of an, are a bit of an impasse. So the Jackson turned out the most recent offer over this week. And I think he's seeking a fully dig guaranteed contract. So who knows what this actually means for the future state? Of quarterback contracts, but nevertheless, no, not, not, not really though, because here here's the thing, Russell, Wilson's on the, on the, on the back nine of his career. So this, this, this, the, the amount that he got, so 250, I, I agree that that you're right, but I, I don't know that, that, that. When teams are negotiating, they might not look at it that way they might, you know, right. Yeah. Yes. But, but look here, here, here's this, you have, you have two circumstances that are unique. One was the Sean Watson. The guy did not want to come. He did not want to come to Cleveland. So they had to go above and beyond. To get him to commit so that doesn't apply to Lamar Jackson. He's he's already in Baltimore. He doesn't need to move. So, you know, they don't need to prime away from somewhere else. Number two, this situation with Russell Wilson is that he is, he is a veteran and there, so the reason why he only got 150 million of his guaranteed, because really he's gonna be elite for another three, four years. Maybe who, who, who knows may, maybe he'll change it up. And if he changed it, if he's gonna get paid. So I think what's gonna end up happening with Lumar Jackson is that he's gonna land somewhere in between those two contracts in terms of guaranteed money. Yeah. No, we'll see. What's your you're right. It's a good point. Is that one is on the back nine one is still in their prime, so you should kind of wait a account and they had to pull'em away. They had to do something to pull'em away. Yeah. And, and yeah. Deshaun. Yeah, exactly. He, the Browns were. Desperate to upgrade a quarterback. And, and so they got, yeah, they, they get their guy different situation, but nevertheless, there's always historical historical contracts and, and recency bias that are incorporated in these negotiations. We'll see where Lamar land, especially given Lamars his own agent. Right. Which is interesting. I, I think actually his mom. Is officially listed as, as his agent. So we'll see where where that goes. And that's a good thing. That's I think, I think like Dante CU was the guy who was his own agent too. Right. So I think it's not, it's not like it's never happened before. Pay pay the pay the 2% go negotiate. You know what? Go negotiate with an attorney and say, look, I'm gonna, I'm, I'm gonna give you 1% and, and come and do this deal for me because who wouldn't wanna get 1% on, on, on a 300 million deal? You know, it's, it's, it's so idiotic that you're saving that 1%. And the problem with that is that you're gonna get emotional. And, and the last thing you want, look, when I was, when I was renegotiating my deal with the red. I literally told my agent go and do it. I don't care. I don't want to hear about it. I'm in training camp. I don't even wanna think about it. I don't even wanna think about it. And in fact, the, the, I, I remember at one point, I guess the, the negotiations was going heated between my agent and the, and the Redskins front office. The assistant general manager came to me. He goes, Hey, don't get greedy. I'm like, what are you talking? And he goes, well, I do, you know, what's going on? Like, I'm like, Joe, I have no idea what's going on with negotiations. I don't care. I don't want to hear it. I wanna focus on the season. Please don't even talk to me about the negotiations. And he was like, oh, like, like, because you want, you wanna stay away from it as, as a player, especially this time of year, especially this time here. So I I'm I'm, I mean, like, and look, and I don't want to talk, I don't want to. Disparage Lamar's mom. I, I don't know what her background is. I don't, I, I, I have no idea, even in the best case scenario that let's say she's a seasoned negotiator and she's an attorney and she can figure all that stuff out. I still would want there to be a some kind of a curtain division between the, the franchise quarterback. Whose mom is gonna be to all these events. I don't want there to be any harsh feelings between the front office and, and, and the court. Right? Cause, look, in order for the Ravens to be able to get the best seal for themselves, they're gonna have to knock down the value of, of Lamar Jackson, correct? I mean, that, that's what you do negotiations, correct? Yes. I mean that, that's where you're gonna have to do. You're gonna, you're gonna have to say no, we can't give you the Sean Watson money because. You know, I mean, it, it's just the fucking negotiations and, and, and there is no way in hell. There's no way in hell that Lamar Jackson's mom, isn't gonna go back to Lamar. Jackson's you know what they said about, you know, it, it's just, it's just a bad well, and, and by the way top five highest paid QBs in terms of average, annual salary, Aaron Rogers, Russell Wilson, Kyle Murray, Dashaun, Watson, Patrick Mahomes, who, who, who doesn't belong on that? Does that anyone stand out? Same again. Aaron Rogers, Russell Wilson, Tyler Murray, Dashaun Watson and Mahomes. Yeah. Kyle Murray. Yeah. Tyler Murray co Tyler. Murray's getting a, a larger average annual salary than Mahomes and Watson. Well, that that's because he did that's that's because he did the right thing to mature thing and went off and, and, and filed for divorce on social media. Right, right, right. Exactly. But look, yeah. Russell Wilson at 49 million a year. Aaron Rogers at 50.2. So not far off from may Rodd. And look, we're also Wilson. Say what you will about him. Nine time pro bowler super bowl champion, the winningest QB in NFL history in the first 10 years of his career. So the guys had a hell of a career. And he gets to do one thing that you're one thing that you're forgetting about Russell Wilson is, is that let's remember what Seattle was like pre Russel Wilson. Yeah. They went, they went to the playoffs on a seven and nine record. If, if, if you recall pre Russell. Yeah. And, and they actually, that year, they, they, they almost made it to the conference championship, threatening Atlanta. Right. Right. But that was, that was, that was the greatest season in, in Seattle. Up until that point was a seven and nine season when Marshon. When Marshon lynched in, in the playoffs and won a playoff game. And, but before that, Seattle was not a very good team. They always had like a solid defense. And so, and, and let's not, let's not forget what Russell Wilson came in in his rookie here. And the transformation that he brought in to the, to the Seattle Seahawks. No question about it. No question about it. And again, we, we get to see him put those talent on display against the Seahawks week. One, congrats to Russ. He's now tied to the Broncos for the next seven years with the stack team best, best wishes to him. Char let's, let's go to something a little more grim. And I know we spent the better part of the summer, essentially talking about Deshaun Watson and those allegations another set of very serious allegations coming. This time pertaining to Bill's rookie punter, Matt za, the San Diego state product. So bills have cut matter eight, Matt za and why? Well, allegations have come down from a young lady from his time at San Diego state, who says she was raped, gang raped by a Raza and some of his friends at a party. AZA did know that she apparently knows that she was underage. And I mean, it's hard to talk about because the details are grim, man. I mean, she was bleeding and had piercings ripped out and was, he gave her a drink that made her pass out and she woke up while being raped. I mean, it's, I'm not even comfortable going into the detail. It's really, really bad. It's really bad. And so yes, the bills have. Matt AZA now. And it's, I mean, the guy had an incredible preseason. I think he was like, he had like an 85 yard punt or something like that. I mean, he had an absolute cannon for leg. He had a promising career in front of him. This gets dropped down and some concerning behavior potentially char. So the bills were notified by the victim's attorney about these allegations on July 31st. And on August 22nd, they went ahead and cut the other punter on the roster and awarded Raza, the roster spot and the contract. And then once this kind of got public, then they released and a statement and, you know, cut, cut Matt Raza. So not, not a great look for the bills there and having waited almost a month to do something about it. Be that as it may just a tough, tough situation. And if true, awful, just awful. Well, fir first thing, I'm, I'm gonna get this out of the way and I'm gonna get to meet up the meat of the, of the story. No, it's, it's not, it's not the wrong look for the bills because during training camp, they hear bunch of allegations and the punter is the position that you can. Plug and replace. It's not like he, he he's, he's, he's a guy that you can easily easily. If, if, if the allegations, if they cut him early on and it turns out that it was just nothing, then they've lost the pro bowl punter. But if they keep him on and they're just waiting and the allegations turn out to be the way they are, they can cut him and bring back the other guy. No, no, no problem. So I have zero problems with how the Bill's handled. Okay. Okay. So, so even though that they got a formal letter from the attorney, Breaking on all the allegations doesn't and they only, they only made a move after it was made public. Well, no, because maybe they made it public because they actually put it together and, and they could, they, they, they could, the, the formal letter from the attorney could have been, Hey, we just wanna let you know that this is going on. And they're like, okay, thank you. We're aware of it. And now you put the whole package together and, and here, here's the thing. The attorneys of the victim is not gonna leak little bit of information to the bills. They're just gonna notify.'em let'em know what's going on. And before they go public with all that information, they would be stupid to give up any information to, to the bills. So I I'm 90% certain you think maybe they just maybe didn't have enough information to make a decision we're Morey. And, and look, as, as, as, as a, as a, as a prosecuting team, you're not gonna give information. To the, to the defendant's employers. You're not, you're just gonna say, I mean, think about it logically, right? You're just, you wanna, you know, and that's fair. Cause I, I think once what I don't know is are the details that came out to the public. Were they shared with the bills in that private message initially? Cause you're right. That might be like, Let's see how this goes, if it's true. And then once details came out, the bills were like, oh, this is actually, this is bad. Cause there's, I guarantee you, I guarantee you that this was prediscovery. And for those of you who don't know what discovery is, is discovery is when the prosecution in any kind of a, in any kind of a, a, a lawsuit, whether it be criminal civil or, or, or whatever. Presents their case. Okay. Before they do that, they need to double check all their information and they don't want to accidentally present some kind of information that could later on hurt them in their case. Okay. So they're not gonna, they're not gonna, they're not gonna present any information prior to their discovery. There is no way. No, no legal team in the world is gonna present information that they have of their lawsuit or case. Prediscovery there's, there's no way. There's no way. Okay. So the bills, it's not like the bills. All, all the bills here is, listen, we have a case of X, X, Y, Z, and we're just notifying you. That's it. They're not gonna say, Hey, if he did this, he did this, he did this because the prosecution isn't trying to win the, the court of Buffalo bills, the, the prosecution is trying to win the court, the actual justice system. So they're, they have zero interest in letting in letting In letting the bills know every detail of their information. Okay. So I have so, so, so like guys, let's just say for the sake of argument, The, the bills handle it in the best way they could, the bills handle it in a perfect way because they caught him out that we're gonna bring it. The other guy. Now, a lot of people assume that that I'm gonna be jumping on a player's player's side on this, not here, buddy. Not not here that dude needs to fucking burn because here's the thing let's even say. Let's even say that the allegations of drugging and rape are false. Let's just say that it was that it was consensual, right? What the hell are you doing with a 17 year old? What are you doing? And, you know, and knew, knew that you was a 17 year. Unless if you're trying to tell me that he was, this has happened when he was 17 or 18 himself. I, no, he was, no, he was, no, he was, he was 20. He was in college. So this happened recently. When did this happen? This happened at a party last year. Okay. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. What the like, no, no, no, this, this dude, this dude needs to pay the price and I'll be damned if I ever wanna see this guy play again, he does not deserve to have the right to play. He needs, he needs to go to jail and, and pay and, and pay dearly for what he's done. Is there any scenario? Where he serves his time and apologizes in all where you think he, he, at some point should have a chance, or do you say Nope. If it's true. Done death penalty, not literally, but with regards to playing football ever again, I hon honest to God Kuro it's it's, it's one of those things that obviously may, maybe it's my emotion talking right now, but this is one, this is the situation where some asshole comes in and does something like this and does something VI and, and, and, and, and impedes on another human being's. To be a human being like, like, you know, you, you are INFR, you giving. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like, and, and I don't care. Some people might say, oh, what's a 17 year old doing at, at, at a college. No I don't. No. Yeah, no one even go there. Yeah, no, I'm not saying, I'm saying I don't care. I don't fucking care. Okay. This is a double whammy. This is a fucking, this would be a case where if she was like 20, he. I would, I would in this, in this case, I would stand back and say, Kru, I want to hear, I want to hear what's going on because there's been plenty of accusations made, but let's even say that the accusations are a lie that he did not drug her, that he did not rape her. That, that it was consensual. What are you doing? Giving drinks? To a 17 year old. And what are you doing? Like, come on, come, come on. And that's the thing is, I think she immediately went to the police. They did. Oh, then, then yeah. And they did, they actually like did a toxicology. So I think they approved that there was something in the drink and then they actually had her, they had her call him and he admitted to her cuz she said, I don't remember what happened. He admitted to her, but they had, they had had sex. And then I think she asked a clarifying question like, oh, so he actually did. Then he kind of picked up that this might be a setup. And he says, he said, this is Matt za. And I don't have any memory of what happened last night. And he hung up the phone, fuck him. He needs to burn. Yeah, he needs, he needs to burn and, and you know what? He needs to go to jail for whatever amount of time he's gonna go to jail and well, and it's not like he's this millionaire NFL player who can settle out of court necessarily. He hasn't, he hasn't made a dime in the NFL. So, this is the, this is the reason why guys that are innocent end up paying some kind of a price for allegations. These are the guys, these are the guys that make it worse for everyone else. This motherfucker needs to burn. That's all I have to say about it. I mean I, I don't use as colorful language as, as you do char, but it's it. I don't disagree with anything you said, I disagree with nothing you said, and I think you, you, you put it well as a former player and as someone who's been in the locker room and, and look, I mean, who's, what's the guarantee. These players have daughters, they have sisters, they have mothers Kuro. My heart goes out to that young lady. My heart goes out to her parents and, and I hope that you can, and, and you know, what kudos to her for going out right after it happened. Kudos. You did everything the way you'd want you. You should do it. That's that's it. And, and she, and she should be a, she should be a role model for women that have been attacked and abused, because I know a lot of women have a tendency of, of not wanting, you know, that, that whole stigma with everything going on. And look, she had every reason to say, oh my God, if I go, they're gonna say what's a 17 year old doing at a college party, you know, blah, blah, blah. But she did it kudos to. And, and, and, and, and what she's done, what she's done, not only did it is the right thing for her, but it's also the right thing for all other people. Could not agree more with that char and let's, let's go over to another piece of controversy. Speaking of controversy this doesn't involve hurting anybody physically, but we know that John Gruden last year was well not let go, but he resigned, but in, in, in effect was, was forced to resign and let go. For some emails that came out that made disparaging remarks against different groups of people. we all remember that. And he's made his first comment since then. So it looks like the Arkansas Razorbacks brought Gruin in to talk to the team ahead of their first game coming up this weekend. And there was kind of an open forum Q and a session. And he was asked right outright about the situation and where things stand. And here's what he had to. I'm not going to say anything but honest things here. I'm ashamed about what has come about in these emails and I'll make no excuses for it. It's just, it's, it's shameful, but I am a good person. I believe that I I'm, I, I go to church. I've been married for 31 years. You have three great boys. I still love football. I've made some mistakes, but I don't think anybody in here. And I just ask for forgiveness and hopefully I get another shot, but I, I, I get choked up, you know, because there's a lot of misunderstanding out there right now. What you read? What you hear, what you watch on TV? Hell, I worked at ESPN for nine years. I worked hard at that job. I don't even wanna watch the channel anymore because I don't believe everything is. And I know a lot of it is, is just trying to get people to watch, but I think we gotta get back to reality. And that's why I look forward to Saturdays because you're gonna get what you deserve when a whistle blows. And we'll see if the Razorbacks can get after Cincinnati, which I hope they do so love it. Okay. So yeah. Initial reaction, you, you you're love it. What, why? I love John Gruden. He's a good man. He's not a racist. He's not a homophobic. He's not, he, he is a good, good man. And the idea that in a private email if you want to go through it again, he basically. Used the, the, the F word slur. You can, you can, you can say that the term is a bundle of sticks and has cigarettes in, in, in, in England, right. That DERO term used for homosexuals, but that's not the way he was saying it. And then secondarily. He said that DeMar Smith, he called dumb Morris Smith, which is whatever. But then he referred to him as having, hold on. I don't understand. Say that again. He called Deora Smith du called the like dumb Morris Smith. Okay. That's not a big deal. Then he said he has Michelin tire size lips, which is. Which definitely can be construed as, as a racist comment, cuz that's been kind of a, a, a trope about the African American community. And then he talked about the NFL being pressured to draft quote queers, and then he also made disparaging comments against the NFL hiring. Female officials. So like he did manage to offend a lot of groups across the, across those emails. So that, that that's, he, he wrote this, he wrote this to one of his close friends who was Bruce Allen, right? Yeah. So let's exchange with Bruce Allen. I think it was a couple other guys in thread, but he is mainly Bruce Allen and John. Yeah. Right. And, and, and let's keep in mind that, that John gin was not under under scrutiny. Tho those were just, it just happened to be captured. Yeah, actually, yeah, there was an investigation being done on Washington and, and yeah, by the way, you know, God knows what happened to that. Right. right. But right. Yeah. So this is the same, the, the, the real, the real villain right now is running free. Nevertheless, right. So I think, I think it it's, no, it's no secret. I think you and I probably don't see fully eye to eye on this. I, I, I do understand that. Look, here's, I take. I actually, I liked most of what Gruden said there here's the part I didn't like. I didn't like when he said it was a mistake, but it's not like no one else has made a mistake in this crowd. You don't need to say that. There's not like, you know, like, if it's like the, what about right. Instead of talking about just owning your. Don't say, well, you're not without mistakes either. I just, I, I didn't, I didn't care for that. You don't, you don't need to say that. I don't think it does him any favors to say that way. Now look, if he wants to defend him himself and his character, he has a right to do that. I would also reckon his, I, I'm not saying, I think John Gruden is this necessarily this like blunt outright racist, but I would also say the fact that he feels he can talk that way. Maybe there is some subconscious racism happening there and I, I don't think there's. Who's a racist who would say, yeah, I'm a racist. Maybe some are who are like way out there. But I think most people who have racism in them, aren't gonna be like, yeah, I'm a racist. No, one's gonna say that. So for me, it's not a shock that he, that he, or you can say it, you, you know, you know me for almost three years now and, and you've dined with me, we've hung out. We've, we've discussed some serious issues we have, but seriously, but, but, but, but sure. I have a question for you though. I, I was, I was setting it up. Be, am I a racist? I don't believe you're a racist, but, but the, but the active term you use Corro, you know me, right. I, the public doesn't know John Gruden like that. Right. But I, I had, I had a greater point to make. I had a great greater point to me. Corro, you, you believe, you don't believe I'm a racist. Because I've, I've, I've plain and simple. Like, no, but I, I could see how somebody didn't know. You might think that, right. Right. Like someone who didn't know me well, might think I'm a, I'm a crazy liberal no, no, by the way, having said that some of the, some of the charges guys think you're a racist think I'm racist said you're a racist. Yes. What did I, what did I do because of your, of your, of your continuous, what, what do you call. They, they said again, I'm paraphrasing. I'm trying to make it a quote man. The way he's on Deshaun Watson. There's no way he would be on him if he was a white player. Oh my gosh. That's that's what I was told. Oh my gosh. That's not the thing is, but I, I, I understand why they say that because in their, I can see from their point of view in these situations, you see black people, black, black players, perhaps demonized. But there is no chance. I mean, this has nothing to do with race nothing whatsoever. So, right. So, so anyways, I, I I'm, I'm saying, I'm saying this to you and, and you know what my reaction to them was. I laughed. I, I literally said I can't wait. I didn't, I didn't even defend you. I said, I can't wait till I tell'em this because it's funny. Yeah. I mean, it's funny. It's, it's like one of those things, it's like somebody coming to you and saying, Hey man, I met shark. He's a little. He's small. He's really small. Right? It's like, you would just, you would just laugh. Right? Right. And look, I mean, they, they have a right to their opinion. And like, honestly, like, I, I would love to talk to somebody who thinks that, cause they have a right to feel that way, but right. They do. They do. But like, but, but yeah, I mean, but I think it goes to show your point, char like in lieu of actually like knowing somebody, right. And you see like that type of strong language that Bruin. It makes it just become, even if, like, let's say, let's just say for the sake of argument, like we could open up John gin's heart and know for a fact like he, and he said, quote, I don't have a blade of racism in me. Let's say he doesn't, let's say, let's say it's true, right? Not let's say it is true. You're talking from a guy that knows it in that scenario. It's still like untenable to keep him in a locker room. I think this is the thing I actually wanna drive at char. Not so. Is what John Gruden did, like is what happened to him. Okay. Or not the question I actually have is cuz he, he alluded to it. He said he hopes he can get another chance at coaching. Right. So like do you think Gruden? Not, not should he, but do you think he will get another chance at coaching? Because the there's kind of an irony here too. He's suing the league. He's in the middle of a lawsuit with the league right now. Good. So now you're gonna ask so, but, but I. It's, it's kind of a bit of like, I want my kick and I want to have my kick. I wanna eat it too. Right? Why? Like, I wanna Sue the league, but then I wanna turn around and get another shot at coach. The former, the former coach of Miami dolphins sued the league and is working for, yeah, he's probably never gonna coach again. He's probably never gonna coach again. Okay. So no, but no, but the point is, but the point is that, that he's, he's still coaching Ryan Flores. Isn't. Isn't he defensive coordinator for the Steelers, right? You're right. I mean, yeah. He got a job on the defensive staff of the Steelers. Okay. So, so regardless, do you know why John? Okay. Okay. But, but I don't. Okay. I, I make it a point head coach, head coach. Okay. You don't think that Brian Flores is gonna get another head coaching job in the league? No, I Don. And I, I hope I'm wrong, but I, I don't think you will. I, I, I, I disagree with you and if he doesn't get another head coaching job, it is because of a sour demeanor, because he's an asshole. But see, but yeah, see, but, but you're, I disagree with you. You're kind of hedging your bets with that. Commentation no, I'm not. I'm not because I don't, I don't, again, I was told from a. It's in a high, the guy is a fucking asshole. He's like, he's like the guy is, he's not to, he doesn't play, but was so was bill Parcells. So. Bill parcel. I'm not saying, I'm not saying Flores is there, but I'm saying like, that's never prevented a lot of guys from, from being Floyd. No, but bill, bill Parcells, it's not that he wasn't bill parcel was just unmovable in terms of, in terms of like doing things, but we're going off. We're going off. Hold on. Topics are, but so do you think yes or no? You get another shot to coach in the NFL at some point. I think that Brian Flores will get a, will get a head coaching job before John Gruden. Okay. Never coach again, I, I, I think he's gonna go to college and he's gonna, and he's gonna coach in college, but the reason why John Gruden shouldn't get another head coaching job again. Do you know why you're? So you're saying he shouldn't. Alex Love. How do you Alex Leatherwood Colin or whatever his name is? We, we talk about that basically all those first round picks him, him and Mike May let those picks on fire. That's why, that's why John Goodin shouldn't get another head coach job, because the, the idea of you going early in the first round and you get Alex leather and then the year before wasn't Colin fr uhlin Ferrell. Ferrell. Yeah. A L yeah. You have a bunch of guys who is Henry rugs situation is just like tragic Henry rugs is not Henry rugs is not his fault, but, and then there was who, who was, there was another corner they took in the first round too. Yeah. So, so that's, that's why John Good. Should get another head coaching job. I just left the Raiders our reunion. Okay. Last, last week. Yeah, by the way. Yeah, last week, keeping it from the, from the audience. I didn't even know until we, we stopped record. Mr. Mr. Prish was invited his Raider alumni and got the red red carpet rolled out for you in Vegas buddy and met men. The kudos to Mark Davis. What a freaking reunion, what a reunion. And, and, and I met, I met legends. I, I, I mean, Marcus Allen, one of my personal heroes I met, I met him. I like the, the quarterback that was the super bowl MVP. I'm sorry, Jim Plunkett, Jim, Jim Plunkett, the other super bowl. MVP number 25, the receiver, but Fred Biletnikoff. Oh yeah. That people I, I saw Jim Otto again. I, I saw a bunch of my friends that, that, you know, that I was there. Uh, It was just a phenomen. I mean, like he easily spent several million on this reunion and absolutely put the Redskins to shame in, in terms of reunions. But that's a, that's a different story. Yeah. Cuz you've got a basis for comparison now. I I remember Shari text. You like, Hey, how how's the game? Because you, they, they sent you guys to the, the Raiders Patriots preseason game. You. I don't even know, man, I'm, I'm eating steak lobster. it was, it was ridiculous. Like, and it wasn't just one day it was, it was all four days aged, aged, porterhouse steak, lobster, ESE, crab, king crab. And, and I mean, you know, you know how dining's in Vegas, Vegas is some of the best dining in the world. Oh yeah. It's just unbelievable. Open bar for all four days, and I'm not talking about cheap stuff, I'm talking about fantastic stuff. And, and, and just the way they treated us, it was phenomenal. So anyways, kudos to that. I spoke to several people about coach Gruden, several black players. Okay. Not a single one of them, even hinted at him being racist. I said, do you think he's racist? They're like, man, come on. The, the, the issue ISN. Is he a racist? The issue is the perception of G. And could he ever really have the respect of a locker room after the stigma? Yes. Respect of a locker room. He's not gonna have the respect of guys like you who pay so much attention. To the optics of what's going on, he easily can have the respect of the locker room, but he's, we mean guys like me, the press, the press, that, that, that are gonna be like, oh my God, he shouldn't say this. He shouldn't do that. You and I gonna have arguments about Richie and Cognito and, and you're gonna say stuff, that's gonna drive me off the fucking wall. Cause it's like, you don't under understand what's going on in the locker. Look. I'm not saying I understand the locker room, all I can do is offer my point of view, right. Free to disagree. And, and I'm telling you, it's gonna be the, the pushback of him. Coaching is gonna come from, from people of the press and, and, and people in the media that are gonna be like, oh my God, I can't believe a racist, sexist got, got a job like this. Well, so I forget there's a term for this. What's it called? When. Two people reached the same conclusion, but for different reasons. Right? So you're, you're saying he shouldn't coach again, because he blew all these draft picks that he had. Right. Right. While others are saying, no, it's more because of these, these emails look. Yeah. Because, but look, I'll say this. I, I, I don't think it's totally crazy to assume that isn't racist, but it's also, man, it's really hard for me to believe that somebody can make a comment like that. About a physical T. That was tied to, you know, black people from, from the slave days and, and not have like something wrong with them. Right? Like you wanna call a subconscious racism. It's just, that's like, come on, dude. Like that. That's that's what's wrong. And again, you don't know the NFL fucking culture or maybe there's something wrong with the NFL culture. No, there isn't. It's beautiful. Do, do you know the shit that was said to me at, at the reunion? Are you fucking kidding me? I was told that they said, Hey, sharp, we kept an eye on you, all the bombings going on. We knew you had something to do with it. And ha ha. And, and I laugh, but those are again sharp. Again. We go back to things that are personal relationships there. There was a guy I used to work with. Yes. Personal relationship with, with Bruce Allen who wrote this email to well, well, Yes. I, I, I get what you're saying and that he, he was saying it in the confines of what he thought was a private conversation. But now that it's out, people don't know Gruden the way that you're talking about with some of your friends. And I, I, you know, I've have banter with friends of mine that are different races and, and backgrounds and, you know, whatever it's in. Good fun, because we know each other, people don't know G and that's why there's this perception. Right? And that this was a private conversation. Yeah, this was, if you thought right or wrong, the world that we're living in, I don't think there's any chance he gets another shot at coaching. I don't think so. I think he maybe has a shot at getting back in the booth at some point, but coaching there. The the, the woke storm will not allow for it. I, I, unfortunately, unfortunately, I, I, I, I want you to be wrong. I want you to be wrong, but I'm not too confident, but here's one thing I gotta tell you. If you ask Warren SAP about sharp Don and the things he said, do you think people would think I'm a racist? The things that I said to Warrens app on the football. Yes. They would think I'm racist if you're telling me. Yeah. Okay. You attacked them in that way. This morning when I was talking to my kids, I don't know if you caught it or not. Yeah. I, I, I caught it. I caught it. I caught it. Okay. My, my term of endearment for them is, is, is the, is the bundle of sticks. Yeah, that that is, is, is a and again, but sure. You keep going back to these personal relationships, right? And the personal relationship between freaking between John gin and Bruce Allen. This was a private conversation that had nothing to do with the investigation of the Redskins. Yeah. Uh, So, but I do agree with you. I, unfortunately, unfortunately I think you're right. He's yeah, he's probably not gonna coach again. I, I will say this, I think Gruden is an incredible analyst. He was amazing at his job. Just the one thing I didn't like about his, his apology was he said, well, you guys make mistakes too. It's like, that's not what you say when you're apologizing, whatever. I hope at some point he, he he's able to get another shot in the booth, but coaching, man, I think it's just. It's too far gone based on where we are as a society for him to get back out there. So he needs he's look, he's such a dynamic person. He's such a likable person. And I know you had, you had a good experience with him when, and not, not, not, not just, not just me. It's it's like, I, I, I, he needs to go and coach college and affect these young men that are coming. And, and he, he's an honest person. He's a good human being. He doesn't, he doesn't have an ill feeling towards any, any anybody. And, and like what, what, he's honestly, the first time I heard what he said about about our our, the president of our players' union, I laughed, I laughed. I, I didn't think, I didn't say, oh my God, what a racist I'm like, haha. I can't believe he said that about him because this is the shit that we say in the locker room. And I think that's part of it too, is. I, I would say maybe there's something wrong with the way the culture is. If that's fine where you would say, no, this is, this, is this the way it's our culture. You have no right to say, it's, it's like me going to the Hindus and saying your culture is wrong. That you don't eat Chows. Well, no, F you shark. That's their culture. Be that as man grin, at least he's looks like he's making some appearances in the public circuit. I love John gin. I freaking love John gin. I'm yet to meet a, a person at that platform that didn't like John gin. I just, this is, this is, this is woke culture at its worst. This is woo culture at sports and, and you know what the freaking Karens and their little Karen meeting rooms all across the nation are, are, are, are having a field day with us. So God bless you. Good job between the Sean Watson and John Rudin. Karens are happy as what you're saying. It's it's unreal. It's okay. Sharp. That was one press conference. Let's go to another press conference. That was interesting. So Tom Brady was asked, obviously he's, he's had an 11 day hiatus from training. Right in the middle of things. And of course after his first practice, he's up on the podium and he is asked about, Hey, what's the deal? What was going on? You were off for 11 days. Here it is. It's all personal. You know, everyone's got different situations they're dealing with. So we all had really unique challenges to our life. And you know, where 45 years old, man, there's a lot of shit going on. So, you know, you just gotta try to figure out light the best you can. And. It's a continuous process. So that's all you had to say about it, right. But the whole con about I'm 48 years old, I'm sorry. 45 years old. I've got a lot of ish going on. I think probably anyone who's, you know, late thirties, early forties, a dad can relate to that in some ways. So he's very relatable there. Your thoughts on, on Brady's comments and kind of just making it very simple and maybe less complicated than others are making it. I, I think it was incomprehensible what he did. I think it was ludicrous. It was disgusting. It was racist. It was sexist. You know, the, the fact that he talked about that the fact that he didn't say that it was his wife that had a lot of shit going on, the, the, the lack of sincerity in his voice, it just makes me want to just absolutely get ban him for. He never needs to get into the hall of fame because you know, those 10 days that he missed is just such a spit in the face to the fans of football, those Karens out there, come on, Karens, pick up, pick up your broom, handles and fly on'em around, you know, screaming and yelling and, and, and, and saying why didn't Tom Brady say that my wife has a lot of shit going on. Yeah, it it's. It's horrible. It's it's, you know, Tom Brady, I'm not a fan anymore. And you need to be banned for life. That's Mike job. That's it. Brady's cancel. I mean, are we serious? Are we fucking serious? Well, well, and then the other part of the shark, we, we looked at the picture together. People were commenting, oh, he looks unwell, he's lost a lot of weight what's going on. There's just, they, they, they won't stop with this guy. Like, are, are you kidding me? Yeah. Until I will say like, like the, the comment about the weight, that is a physical appearance thing, which he's an athlete. So you maybe connect that to. You know, is it gonna affect as you get older in order to still have the same mechanisms in your, in your mu muscle and, and, and schedules of the musculature, or if that's the word you need to drop weight and it might not even be that that initial quickness or, or that explosion and stuff like that, it might, it might be that for the fourth quarter, in order to have that same acceleration or, or snap or, or whatever it might be, you need to drop weight. That's that's it. That's it until Tom Brady stops being Tom Brady. I think people need to shut the fuck up and let the man play. Yeah. And he, he even made a comment like, Hey guys, I've been playing football for a while. I can pick it back up. I think, I think I'm pretty good at this game. Oh, he's forgotten. He he's he's forgotten. He actually, he actually looked pretty good. Dunno if you saw, he looked pretty good. He drove the, the bucks right down the field. What you mean, Tom Brady? No news bulletin. Oh my God, Tom. Brady's good at football. Hey, he even threw his first pass to Julio Jones. That looked beautiful. Oh my God. So you know, when are, what, when, when are people gonna leave football players alone? look it's social media and all this stuff. I mean, there's always gotta be something to talk. Like I said, quarterbacks are always gonna drive the headlines too. And and you know, Tom Brady, he retired, he unretired he's taken off in training camp. He had the whole thing in Miami. There has been some stories clouding in this off season, but look, I think once the season starts, this is all gonna get put to bed. This is just kind of preseason fodder. But look, he, he, he does seem a little bit skinnier. You might be right. Char as you get older, maybe he's, this is an intentional thing to kind of keep his bodies performance. He also has a, a 10. He also has a 10. I know my fat, when I get a 10, I actually look like that. I'm not as much of a blob as I usually am, man. Unfortunately I don't have enough. I don't have enough. Color in my skin. I just burn. So I, I don't even get what kinda, and you call yourself a Persian. I'm gonna pull your card. I'm gonna pull your card. I get, yeah, that's funny. I actually get, I get Italian more than anything else, which actually you can play password Italian, too shark. I like, you can get Italian. You said, you said, you said one of your girl. Well, your, your wife's grandma thought your Sicilian. Well, she said, she said as long as you're not an N or a Sicilian you're okay. That's what she told me. She So anyways I think she might be racist. right. So there, there we go. We can, we can agree on that one, but no, but no look, depending on, depending on the nice sweet young lady. That had that, that, that, well, I'm, I'm not single anymore, but back in the day, that was speaking to me, I was, I was a Greek. I was Italian. I was a Spaniard. I was, I was, I remember to this one really. I think she's a Karen in, in waiting. She was, she was a Karen and waiting cause Karen in waiting, she was a Karen destination. Yeah, because she was, you know, she was an, she was an absolute social justice warrior, you know, this is and, and, and, and I, and I told her that I'm a, a majority American Cherokee, American Indian Cherokee, and, and boy that I have a field day with her because you know, this, Karen, this Karen to be this Karen and waiting, just had to pay, just had to pay back for all the evils of the wide race had done to the, to the Cherokee Indians. And, and I was the beneficiary. It is. Okay. I'm sure. That's that's oh, Karen Karen's United against char. Char is a racist, sexist misogynistic, everything. Come on, come on, Karen. Come at me. Char verse the world. Okay. Let's let's close this thing out. Char, obviously we're getting Natalie in the training camp, regular season on the horizon. What does that mean? Cut days. Right? So yesterday, some, some notable players. Released. Right. So you got guys like Josh Gordon on the chiefs, OJ Howard, the former first round pick who went to Buffalo. He was cut. We talked about, you talked about char Alex Leatherwood, former first round pick of the Raiders left tackle. He was released Josh Rosen, quarterback you know, first round pick. He hasn't caught on anywhere. Phillip Lindsay, Sonny, Michelle, any of these guys, Marlon Mack. Duke Johnson, Kevin Coleman. Any of these names stand out to you as guys you're surprised about. I I'm surprised about Alex Leatherwood because he's still young. And if you just, maybe, maybe it was a salary issue because I can see him being a backup, but maybe not for a first round draft choice money, because believe it or not first round draft choice money. By the time you get to third or four season, it's gonna be rather. You know it it's gonna be, it's gonna be a good, good amount, but I can see Alex leather with being, being a backup. The other, the, honestly, the other guys, duke Johnson and, and, and guys like that. It's, you know, these are guys that you wanna bring in if, if, if, if you have a need at that position. Yeah, I don't, I don't. You know, I don't know. I don't, I don't really see any, anything notable notable about that. Josh Gordon. I mean, come on. It's it's it's it's time to call the day now. Josh Gordon did get signed back to their practice squad bar Mac got signed back to the practice squad. Some of these guys get signed back, but just didn't make the initial 53 man roster. You know, Cowboys did something interesting. They obviously, well, they, they, they cut bend the Nuk. Thank God. But. They kept them. He made no DCI's is, is, was, was released. Okay. They did. But they did also release back of quarterbacks, Cooper rush, and will Greer on the practice squad. But the plan is to max out the 50 53 man roster, and then maybe elevate one of these guys on game day. Cause I'm like, well, what are you gonna do on game day? If DS only he gets hurt. But I think there's just, just a lot of it as the kind of roster manipulation as well. So not necessarily everybody who gets. Release and sign back to the practice squad there. They still might actually be on the active roster. Come, come game day based on their needs. Right? Because here here's one thing that people don't understand. The, the 46 man roster, you can actually have a 47th man, and that's the emergency quarterback. So so the, if, if the Cowboys are saying, look, we feel good enough with Cooper rush. That nobody else is gonna pick him up off the practice roster that we can literally on, on game day, activate him as the 47th man. And he'll be our emergency guy. I can, I can see that happening because usually you want to keep your backup quarterback because you don't want other teams to snag him. But at the end of the day, I think what the Cowboys are saying is that Cooper rush he's good enough to kind of. You know, get it dump for us in, in a pinch and nobody else is gonna take him off or a practice roster. Yeah. And, and just seeing this list, man, it, it reminds you of the very fluid and just kind of abrupt nature that can be NFL careers. Right. I mean, we talk about all these guys and stars, noble players. They're truly like the 1%, right. I mean, I look at guy, I mean, think guys. Te Coleman duke Johnson, Jaquiski tart Muhammadu Preston Williams. I mean, these are guys who a few years ago, maybe it's the, News's been around for a while, but like, you know, te Coleman and duke Johnson were, were fixtures of their offense and weapons just a few years ago. And Hey, talking about them as casual. So Sony Michelle Sony, Michelle. Well, Sony Michelle got re-signed by the, by the chargers though. I was gonna, I was gonna say the only reason why Sony Michelle is, is, is, is, is a cut, is because they literally had too many running backs. They have too many running backs. Sony Michelle was extremely effective for the Rams when cam acres got got injured last year. And he actually, he actually was a major contributor to their super bowl run. So Sony, I was, I was gonna say, I would be shocked if Sony Michelle doesn't get picked back up because he's a first round draft choice. He's a first, he's a young first round draft choice, but actually played in college with Nick. Chuck. He was, he was good enough to the point where Nick Chub was sharing time with him, by the way he was drafted ahead of Nick Chubb. Yes, exactly. So, you know, not, not bill EK's greatest moment, but we all make mistakes. No, but what Sony Michelle is not a bad football player. No, he's, he's not, I mean, I mean, look, my Miami's running that room is crowded and, and, but he caught on somewhere. So, but it's just, yeah, man. The, the nature of these, these athletes is and I think maybe playing fantasy, you, you, you track these guys more. It's crazy. I mean, the NFL average career is three, three and a half years, four years, maybe. So yeah, hope these guys get back on their feet and are able to find some work and, and build their career. The, the path success. Isn't always straightforward, but but yeah definitely some notable guys release one thing. I'll end on this too. The jets had the most players that they cut signed by other teams out, out of any squad. Michael Lombardi. You know, either, either they, they did an incredible job of, you know, basically, you know, are, are they actually cutting the right guys? Or are they just bad evaluators of talent? Like, you know, you do the math when it comes to the jets. Well, here's the thing have a bunch of pro players on their team, then that's the thing, right? If, if, if you gotta be cutting so many players that other teams are gonna pick up. You better have a bunch of pro bowl players because, and, and again, this goes, this goes back to the argument of, of not drafting quarterback, you know, that, that second quarterback you know, it, it it's, it's like some teams, just some, some teams just can't evaluate talent and some teams can't evaluate some good teams at certain physicians. So it's better if you just go and pay for it and, and, and bring it in the Cleveland Browns did that with the quarterback. Finally, they're like we're capable of drafting everything else except for a quarterback. So we gonna give that money to bring, bring somebody else like that. I would, I wanted to see the, the new England Patriots going on, paying a lot of money to Devante Adams, to bringing them in because they cannot, they're not capable of drafting wide receivers. They can't do it. They can't do it by the way. Lombardi's exact words. There's, there's two ways of looking at the jets. Getting so many players cleaned off their waivers. One, they cannot correctly evaluate their own talent. How many? Five, how can a five win team be so talented? Two. Jets are loaded and have more talent than they could ever imagine. You decide. Well, that's what I was saying. That, that, that was my point. David have a lot of trouble players on the team, right. I guess. We'll see. But it's I doubt it. It's the jets. I I'm, I'm guessing it's probably the first one, but yeah man, this is it. This is it, buddy. We're at the home stretch and, and come next week, we're gonna be dropping some previews. Finally, we can preview. The season to come char and I we're gonna make our, our bull predictions. We'll get your first peak at Nostra Danish as it pertains to the 22 season. And of course, we'll talk specifically that first Thursday game bills visiting the Rams to open up the season. The glorious times ahead are seven more days and happiness will rain. AB, absolutely listen. I'm, I'm looking forward to it and, and, and I'm, I'm gonna, I'm gonna drop a, a Nore thing right now, a little Nore gem as a tease week. Your Dallas Cowboys will not have Ezekiel Elliott on the squad next year. This time I can see that I can see that. Well, let's, let's talk more about that next week, but, but I, I, I think I agree with you on that. Alright. All, you just flew food on my prediction, but thank you. I think flew, I think, look, I mean, well, I think Tony Pollard got something to say. So back then that contract is not right. Not looking through hot these days, but in any case, man, good stuff. Love it. Excited. And Hey, tune in everybody next week for our official 2022 season preview. And we're going twice a week now we're going twice a.
