Week 9 Review / Reich fired
Transcript

The axis of football is back to cover the action. That was week nine, Corro alongside Char Perish, and this was the upset or almost upset week you always get a couple these throughout the year, char, but some shocking, shocking results coming outta week nine. But Char, before we dive into. Let's talk about the breaking news out of yesterday, and that would be the Indianapolis Cols and Jim Erse parting Ways with Head Coach Frank Reich. Frank Reich departs with a 40 33 and one record as Indianapolis head coach. The writing was in the wall. You be Matt Ryan, you fire the offensive coordinator, and now RE was next. Re was next in the chopping block. That in and of itself wasn't a shock. I think char would, would shock people. You know, myself included, I think you might be in this bucket too, was the decision to then bring on Jeff Saturday former Colt Center, Jeff Saturday as interim head coach, a guy, the first person to take over as head coach of any team on interim or full-time basis without any college or professional. Coaching experience. I believe he's got a year or two of of coaching experience at some I think at Christian High School out in Georgia. That's really it. And he was coming off me an ESPN NFL analyst, which I, I do actually like his his commentary there. But perplexing decisions seemingly coming out of the, the culture in Jim Mee on this move. What was your reaction to. Reich's departure, and then the decision now to go with Jeff Saturday as your new interim coach for these next day games. I mean, like you said, I wasn't really surprised by by the firing of Frank Reich. Although I disagree with it, I think it's I, I can name, I can name a bunch of teams that have coaches. That I would rather have Frank Reich over than them. Yeah, I think we can agree. Frank Reich's not gonna be, if, if he still chooses, he's not gonna be unemployed for, for a very long No, no. He, he might actually go to Jacksonville as a, I can see that happening, going to Jacksonville as an offensive coordinator, but I'm thinking even as a head coach you know, for, for Michael. But, but, but yeah. And I, Frank Reich, I mean, I, I know we jumped into Jeff Saturday stuff. We'll get to that. He was Delta a tough hand. I mean, imagine coming in the 2019 season and Andrew Luck retires basically on the eve of the third preseason game, like, so he was, he was Delta a really tough hand. So off the bat had to go at Jacobi Burett and then they adopt this kind of rent the quarterback type approach, which, which the Bucks ironically did with Tom Brady. But they, you know, Rivers and, and Wents, and now Ryan, it just never worked. I don't think he was ever given a full deck to play with over. Yeah, it's, and, and something that people don't really talk about. You know, it wasn't just a quarterback situation because he did have some success with Phillip Rivers. It was this slow degradation of his offensive line and, and really his defense because at one point he had a really powerful defense and he had one of the top offensive lines in the, in the nfl. And every year that offensive line just got worse and worse and worse. And that defense progressively. Less powerful. So I think that had more to do with it than than that had a bigger effect than really not being able to find a quarterback. And in fact, that might have resulted in the poor quarterback play over the last few years. Well, think about it when, and you've also got, think of the quarterbacks, right? Phillip Rivers. Carson, we, Matt Ryan, three guys that are pocket passers, Carson. Wes, the guy that, that, you know, notorious for hanging on the ball. Not a good recipe when combined with a deteriorating offensive line, to your point, sharp. But, but yeah, just a tough go for Frank Reich. I think he's a phenomenal coach. I still believe in him as a leader of men and a strategist. He just never really got it going in Indy. And so yeah, I mean, you know, when they're benching his quarterback, benching his OC. He's luckily nice and then they're forcing him to place Sam Eer without Jonathan Taylor as well. I mean, at New England they lost 26 3 to the Patriots, and and r had seen enough. And so that was that point. I disagree with. I, I, I mean, I, I can't believe who did that. That's, to me, that's kind of ridiculous. Well, lemme ask you this. What, what, what part of it are you more upset by? Is it the fact that Reich was fired altogether or the fact that he wasn't given to the end of the season to finish a. The fact that he was fired. Cause I, I, I, I don't think that that, you know and again, I don't know what's going on in the front office. I don't know if it's his decision making that, that really kept him back, handcuffed him in terms of, you know, so solidifying that offensive line. You know, the fact of, you know, you're not going for a quarterback in the last two, in the last two draft. And you don't solidify that offensive line cuz you lost Stans, what, three years ago, who was an all pro tackle. You don't go pick up an offensive lineman. You don't, you don't, you know, solidify that offensive line through three agency. You have one of the most dynamic running backs young running backs in the league. And, you know, instead of making the, the focal point of your offense, I don't even know, I don't even know what they drafted. I really don't, you know, I don't know how their drafts truly have gone by the last few years. I, I still believe Frank, Frank is a great ex, and those guys that, that goes, you know, I still believe in him, so he'll be fine. He won't be unemployed long. Let's enter Jeff Saturday. Okay. You, I think you texted me all caps Saturday, right? And I was like, No, today's today's Monday. Man. What are you talking about? Yeah, And then I, I looked on Twitter. I said, Oh, Jeff Saturday. Okay. Okay. But in any, Just thoughts on bringing a guy who has no previous college or NFL coaching experience. A guy who Jim Mee stood up in front of the press yesterday and said I liked it. He has no NFL experience. It was odd, but that's, that's some, that's some bogus BS though. I mean, come on, come on. You know, he, we know the reports came out that he was calling Luck begging him to come back and play quarterback. Right. He, I think he's hanging on a to a bygone era. I mean, would it shock you if you called Peyton Manning to see if you'd wanna coach before calling Jeff? Like how far down the Rolodex is Jeff Saturday You know, I well, here's the thing. I don't, I wouldn't be shocked. If he, if he wouldn't rather have paid Manning, because you know, there's, at least there's a guy that can you know, call. Yeah. But, but you think Peyton Manning is No, he would never do it. No. He's got a cushy money night gig with his brother that he, that the alternate telecast, and he's, he's not gonna. Come off of that to come Coach Sam Ellinger. Like that's not Peyton's having too much fun. Peyton's having too much, too much fun. Yeah. Me, I coach a stressful job, man. Like, you know, you don't, people say that about Romo. Oh, Roo should be a coach. Why would you wanna be a coach? Right. Paid very handsomely to have a pretty cushy gig with cbs. Why does he wanna go grind and stay up until three, four in the morning and not be home? And you know, it's like, Yeah. So anyway but saying that as a joke, but it just seems like her. The guy's kinda off as rocker, man. He's, he's trying to hang onto this bike and then you see, he was like, we're the fourth winning it franchise since the year 2000. He was like, clinging onto these, like, he's like, we're in the, the top quartile of the top quartile of, of winning since two. It's like, it almost reminded me of that scene and, and you know, meet the fuckers, the sequel to meet the parents where they're meeting they're meeting Ben Seller's. And Robert de Niro's coming in the room that shows all his accolades and he goes, Hey, I didn't know they made ribbons for seventh place. He's like, Oh yeah, they all way to 10th. It's like, Yeah, we're fourth winning. Cool dude. Like, what have you actually done? Like the fact that he has to quote the fourth winning his franchise since 2000, Like it just, the guy seemed like he was just. I don't know on a different planet at point. No, it's like, like, like you said, he, I, I think what it is is that Jim Erse has which happens to a lot of people that, that fall into successful situations and by Jim Erse fall into successful situations, is the fact that they had paid Manning. For all those years, and then they had Andrew Luck for the short amount of times. Because really, let's look, let's look at it. How, how winning they were when the year Pink Manning got hurt and they won one game. What, what, what an absolute shit show that was. Okay. Or right after, you know, or, or the recent year. So the, the fact that you're trying to, you know, trying to say that. Because guess what? The Raiders from the merger of the AFL and a NFL up until 1991, they were, they were, they were, their motto was Commitment to excellence. And they were the most winning franchise in all of four sports. So, if, if you want, if you wanna play games like that, you know, I, we can pick and choose. The Detroit Lions had a historic, historic winning, winning ways in the fifties, you know. Give a fucking break or say it. It's, it's, it's ridiculous. Can, can, can I also just, just shed the line on something? Number one, I'm, I'm on the Indianapolis Cols official webpage under their coaching staff page. Okay. It Jeff Saturday's on there as the head coach, and it says Saturday was named head coach of the Colts on November 7th, 2022. Okay. Then there's a link to click on his profile. You click on his profile. The page you're trying to reach cannot be found. Why is that? Cause he has no profile, There's no, there's no experience to put there. Okay. Right. Sharp humor me here. Okay. You've got a coaching staff with guys like Gus Bradley, who's been a head coach, who's been a defensive quarter, 33 years at coaching experience, right? You've got a coaching staff. Would John Fox, 40 years coaching experience? You know, a winner, a proven winner in this league. Even former Indianapolis Colt's player. Reggie Wayne is the receiver's coach, right? If you want to go the former Colt Legend route, who's a, who's a leader of men, right? Like there are a lot of capable people on the staff. You've got two former head coaches with 73 years combined experience Head co. Like. To me that makes it even more replacing like, like how much of a slap on the face is this move to the existing Colts coaching staff? Yeah, I mean, like Gus, the first thought when I used, you know, saying, you know, who will they hire? I would think that it would be Gus Bradley taking, you know, taking over. So, and I understand like in these situations short, you fire a guy mid season it's, it's implied and understood that like, His staff's gonna be looking for new jobs in the off season. Right. You can't fire the entire staff. Right. You fire one guy, but ultimately the new coach is gonna come in, bring in his guys. Most of these people are not gonna have jobs with the Colts next year. Understood. But it just seems odd to me and you know, how does a guy like Jeff Saturday come in the locker room and command any kind of respect? I, I can't see these coaches. You think Gus, you think John Fox, who's been 40 years in coaching. Is gonna have any respect for Jeff Saturday. I'm sure he'll be cordial and nice, but you know, I don't know how you command the respect. Maybe as a former player, you come in and, and do some rah and, and it, you know, you change things up in the locker room a little bit, but I'm having a hard time even envisioning, Oh, this is gonna go, No. And by the way, there's no one on the, on the direct coaching staff who's had play calling experience either. So they gotta figure that out. I mean, there, there's a lot to untangle. I don't know, as a player, maybe you can speak to the char if you can put yourself in those shoes or those cleats. Should I say? The players aren't gonna think, the players aren't gonna think like that. The transition for the players accepting Jeff Saturday is actually gonna be the easiest part. The, the, the politics that goes on in the, and the coaches coaches meeting rooms. That's, that's where immediately came to my mind. These, you know, you got, you got and, and I wasn't thinking about John Fox, honestly. I was immediately think about you know Gus Gu Bradley, and you're trying to tell me that that. I know he's a smart guy. I know Jeff Saturday being an offensive lineman, the center, he's a smart guy. And but you're trying to tell me that he's gonna come in and establish some kind of authoritative structure where he's at the top of the top of the pyramid with them, with these people that have so much experience. There's gonna be very little, there's gonna be very little respect. Or, or if you think that you and I have raised. What do you think is being said in that locker room right now? I, I agree. I, I'm with you a hundred percent and it's almost like if I'm Jeff sat and he might do this, I might come in and just address the 800 pound grill in the room. Guys, all of you have more experience than me. There's no question about it. All of you know things that I don't know about coaching. I wanna lean on your strengths. I want, I don't wanna rock the boat with things that aren't working with that. This team's in a tough spot. There's a reason why coaching change is made. I wanna work with all of you to write this ship, acknowledging that there's areas you can help me and I want to help you. Help me understand. I think taking that humble Yeah, that's, that's the way to do it. If he comes in and puts the hammer on and says, Okay, you guys, Oh, now it's my turn. Smart. Smarter. Yeah. Yeah. I, I don't think you'll do that. But you know, it's gonna be, I think even for the players who are. If Frank Reich had a good locker room culture and was well liked, I think it is gonna be a bit of an adjustment for the players. I'm not saying it's gonna be gonna take weeks, but like if Frank Reich was liked by his players, Then there's going to be some level of transition that they're gonna have to go through. Yeah. But they knew who's, they knew he was on a hot seat. They knew he was on a hot seat. And, and, and look, and here's the thing. Players look at that, players look at former players coming in, especially a guy that was as respected as, as Jeff Saturday and, and, and, and liked. And, and look, he's a Super Bowl twice, two times Super Bowl champion, right? Once for the Broncos. I, I think with. Or No? No. With who did he almost wanna say? No, Green Bay. You went to Green Bay after and almost, I think almost, Yeah, almost. Right. So so I don't, and he was, he was actually a pro Bowl center. With Green Bay as well. Right? So, so he's well respected. He's, he's well respected and he, he was, he was the president of the cba, right? He actually, he actually helped get the last CBA done between the players and the owners of, So he's a very smart person. He and, and the players saw, look, the players saw the writing on the wall. So it, it, it's, and, and at that point, players are looking, majority of players are looking like, am I gonna be here next year? So the players are, the players are auditioning. And, and the one thing, and look, the one thing that might work in earth's favor is that the, the, the coaches also want keep their jobs. So maybe this is a, this is a way for Ursula the way, if you smartly go to best, Bradley and John Foxen says, Hey, listen, you guys have nice, you guys have nice paying jobs. Maybe give him a little bit of a. And say, this is the way, because if I bring in a whole new coaching staff next year you guys are gone. You guys, you guys are fired. So you guys have to be looking for jobs. So may, may look. IE is throwing the dice and he's hoping for snake ice. And, and, and if, if it works out, it's gonna work out. But and, and really honestly, he's not gonna have anything to do. Cause if it doesn't, if it's an absolute disaster, what's gonna happen is Jeff Saturday's gonna come in and say, Hey listen, I did it. I wanna return back to I wanna return back to television. So Sure, sure. I guess it's, I guess it's a low risk, It's a low risk situation. Yeah, I get it. Sure. Can I, Let me ask you something, and I don't wanna extend this too much, but people will look at this and, and point to minority candidates not getting a shot. The, a former player with no college or pro experience who's not a minority gets the. Don't. Oh God, I'm so sick of it. I'm so sick of this conversation. Honest to God, I'm so sick of, Can I, can I ask like, but why should Jeff Saturday get a shot and not another candidate? Because, because it's an absolute nepotism that that's, that's how it works out. That's, that's a, You know what, So, so you're, so, you're, you're, you are acknowledging his nepotism, but, but it's not racial, It's not racially motivated. It's not racially motivated. The, the part that I disagree with you on that char is, is this, I, I, I agree with you and I disagree with you. Here's what I mean by that. I think if you were to, to give Jim Ore truth serum and be like, Why did you hire Jeff Saturday? He wouldn't say because he's white. Right? He, So if that's what you mean, it wasn't racism. I agree with you, but what I, I do believe that the nepotism that you just mentioned, which I agree with you, it's, it's nepotism. I think it would be. Ignorant or, Or not ignorant, but naive to assume that race does play a part in nepotism. It's not the end all be all. I'm not saying it's a hundred percent of the deal, but it's, Studies have shown, even in the professional world, you hire people who look like you, who are like you. Oh yeah. Is that, is that, is that, Why is that why the Washington commanders have an assistant running back sco who's a black female lesbian? Is that, is that. Right, But, and that's a fair point, but this is, we're talking about head coach now. No, no, no, no. But no, no, no. Let's, let's talk about this cause this is something that I wanted to talk about. Ok. Yeah. I remember you mentioned that you wanted, Okay, Robinson, you never heard of an assistant running back coach. Okay. Exactly. Other let no other. No other team has an assistant running back coach than the Washington commanders, and it's a female You talk about a gratus signing because of all the shit that's going down, all the shit that's going down in that front office, that made me sick. And you know what else made me sick? Kru is the fact that Robinson, the running back is coming back after being shot, which could have been a life, life endangering situation. And they used his, his situation of getting shot. Focus on a, on a female assistant running back coach. The running back position has two players, two positions full back, and a running back. You don't have an assistant running back coach. Okay. You wanna talk about that? You know what, you know how many of my teammates, how many of my brothers that I go back to in all these with the Raiders, with, with the, with the, with the former Redskins. Where they have no jobs. Okay, black guys, why aren't those guys being hired as assistant? Running back coaches? Let's talk about that. Okay. Well, well let me ask you this. Two things can be true, right? Like, like that might be something to, to look at and say that that's way more true. That's way more true than, than the fact that race play plays a factor in I'm just saying we, we, we agree there's nepotism. I'm not saying that nepotism only applies to white people. I'm not saying that right. I'm simply saying that you can kind of see. When it comes to head coaches that it, it matters that billionaires who are all of a mostly of certain race are more willing to hand the keys. Based on, Okay, so what that's, that's, and I know what, if that's the case, they're gonna, they're, they're gonna, they're gonna, they're gonna overlook some great potential and, and yeah, they're, and, and you know what? I guess who's gonna be hurt? Guess who's gonna be hurt? It's gonna be those people that are gonna go with what's more comfortable. So the, you know what? Coercion the market will adjust. But there's no, That's the point. There's no accountability to owners. Owners still get, but there shouldn't be accountability. You have a right. You have a right if you are not purposely going out there, you have a right with picking somebody that you're more comfortable with. You have a right on that. It's not, it's not breaking any moral rights. It's not, if you are not about, Yeah, sure, sure. But it's not about them having, not having a right. But all I'm saying is if you're putting yourself on the shoes of other coaching candidates that have more qualification and experience, that's gonna be frustrating, is it not? But it's also gonna be frustrating when I see a female as the assistant running back coach. Let's talk about that. assistant running back coach. Do you know how many players were begging me for jobs at at, at their rescues union? How many black players you, you're trying to tell me that these black players that are begging, begging to make 70, 80,000. Begging me to hire'em for a 70,$80,000 job. You don't think they would like to be the assistant running back coach Why don't you start hiring these former players that need, need jobs? I agree. I'm not, I'm not against it. Would you ever see this, this opportunity in this way given to I'm I'm minority candidate. I'm not talking, I'm just any minority candidate. I don't think you. I think to your point, the ne nepotism plays into it. And all I'm saying sorry, is that it's frustrating you're talking about I see I I I see minority guys about NFL head coach. Do you remember when they asked? I'm not my, you're talking about Yeah. Todd Bowls. Todd Bowles. Asking, Oh, the people that look like you and play like you. And he goes, I don't look at color. He's a friend of mine. I have. I mean, like, and God, God bless you. Todd Bowls for how you answered it. I am sick and it's, it's ridiculous that that issue is solved. That issue is solved. I'm sick and tired. Oh my God. Jeff Saturday got a job. I don't understand why it's very difficult to just say, I can see how for other coaches with more experience, that would be perplexing. Like, why is that so hard to say? Because you know what, The more we, it's, it's, it's like Todd Bull said it, it says, it's always you guys that talk about this. Basically he was saying, We don't see a problem in this. It's you people that are talking about the people from the outside. Outside. I'm not talking about the line of questioning that, that that reporter was going down about the two black coaches. I'm just talking about a situation where, Somebody with no qualifications got the highest job you can get within a team when you have other candidates with more experience not getting a similar opportunity the issue about black coaches is done. I'm sick and tired of it. It's done well, it's done. We'll see how Saturday does. But, but if, but, and, and it has nothing to do with bike head coaches, whether he succeeds or not. Let's go to the upsets Char Detroit Lions over the pack. This is a bit of a surprise. The Packers were on a down slide. They had lost four straight. Coming into this 15 to nine, the final score here, Char Detroit was the worst scoring defense in the nfl and they hold the Packers to nine points. I know it was in Detroit, but Aaron Rogers and a dome is usually pretty good. This was just I, I don't know if you can get any lower than losing to Detroit if you're Green Bay. I mean, they never lose to these guys. And this year with their defense being particularly bad. Only mustered up nine points. I mean, Jared Goff threw for a buck 37, 2 tds in a pick. This was just kind of an ugly game on both sides. Aaron Rogers three interceptions in this game. Two of'em in scoring position. A couple fourth downs that failed. They didn't take points early. This was a messy game from a player and coaching standpoint. From Green Bay Shore, What's going on over there in green? Their offense is dead. I mean, they've all strong to dubs early in the game. I know I thought about you when I saw that man. Yeah. So, which is kind cause you know, he's actually, you know, as a third round draft choice, he was like, you know, kind of doing well and I was rooting for him. But, but here's the thing. When, when Aaron Rogers, I think I could have sworn I saw three interceptions on the goal line, not just two. I thought I saw three. I think two were on the goal line. One was like on, on, on plus t. Okay, so the, the, the, they actually Sure. I thought of you because they were, one of them was picked off by Aidan Hutchinson. It was a throwback player. They were trying to throw it to David Ard. You see how short he threw that? Yeah. It was way short, but I'm like, Dude, Char would've done a cartwheel to see it, but Iranian and left back, I would've literally look for the life of me. I don't understand why they don't play. Aaron Jones in the, in the slot, Aaron Jones got hurt in this one. That, that was later in the game. But, but yeah, I mean, they've, they've been misusing resources this, this whole year, so I, I don't, I, I don't, I don't know what's going on with them. And, and, and, and I, and here's what's said is how do you not go and get a receiver before the trade deadline? Yeah. I mean, how, how do you not start, but the reports were they tried to trade for both Chase, Clay, Karen Waller, I mean, but yeah. Great. You know, what's the, what's the saying? You know I wish in one hand and you know what, in the other, see what fills up faster. Right. Great. You tried, didn't do anything. And look, you're trying to tell me, you're trying to tell me that they couldn't have gotten Mike Ek from, from Miami for pennies on a dollar. Yeah. I mean, it would've helped. That might've been an incremental improvement, but like your point, No, but, but he's, if you look at Yoki, he's not really a tight end. And the reason why he's not really doing too well is because he plays slot. He plays a different type of slot. And you have two of the best slot receivers in the game in Miami right now. Well, they, they, they went for wall or, and claypool, which I think both would've either, either or both would've been great moves. They just, they just weren't able to pull it off. They weren't. And why, why is. I don't know. I don't know if it was a matter of the, the compensation that was, that was asked. Well, obviously it has to be that. Yeah. Obviously it must have been because the Steelers, The Steelers don't care if it's Green Bay or if it's Green Bay or Chicago that's getting clay Pool Steelers couldn't care less. Yeah, you're right. So they must have just gotten better a better offer comp wise from you. You couldn't, you couldn't get, you couldn't get freaking, here's the thing. Yeah. So, so the bear. Got a second round pick and like a, He gave up a second round pick, gave up for Claypool, gave up a second round pick. Yeah. So I'm saying, yeah, so, So Pittsburgh got the second. Yeah, exactly. So Bears gave up a second round pick for Claypool as well as like a late round pick as well. So, So maybe Green May wasn't willing to give up a second round paper for Well that's course that's, that's, that's my point, that's my point. You're trying to tell me the Rams wouldn't give up. Allen Robinson. They need some offensive help, so, so maybe not. I, I don't know. No, but, but look, the, the Rams are, the Rams are, are definitely not happy with Your point is you're saying the Packers probably didn't try hard enough. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. That's, that's tough. And, and this team's on a downward slide. Detroit was on a downward slide coming into this one too. They had, they had, they had what? Lost I think six straight themselves or five straight themselves. So something gave three and six packers, man. I mean this is bad. Minnesota now is what? A four game lead in the NFC North. I really thought they'd turn it around. At least make it competitive. It's not looked like we can do that, man. And and the problem is that boneheaded plays by Aaron Rogers. I mean, that's the thing, and, and he's, we talked about last week, he had no problem coming out and blaming his receivers and his, and his old line and all that. Mainly his receivers saying, Oh, we're making mistakes 20% of the time. He doesn't take any ownership of when, when it's on him. Yeah. Agreed. And, and, you know, look, you, you know, I, I'm, you know, how I feel about Aaron Rogers, but yeah, I do. Ever since I finally started seeing the, the chin in my argument or the, or the, or the chin in my evidence for him being the greatest quarterback of all time, I saw it in the, in the playoff game against Who was the last year that they lost? San Francisco. San Francisco. Yeah. And, and now look, San Francisco was a hell of a team, but, but when he had Aaron Jones open on that fourth play and he threw to Devante Adams in double coverage. Yeah. Yeah. That was the beginning of the end. Yeah. So, so that's, that's when I first saw it. And, and in the past, in the past, Aaron Rogers was able to do good enough when Devon Adams had been heard in the. You know what, A couple years ago, but, so it's, it's, and, and look, that, that interception that he threw to for David Baio, that was a hundred percent all him. So, you know, this, this idea that, that, you know, people are making mistakes 20% of the time. You know what Aaron you are, you're right there in it. You're right there in it. So it's time to freaking look in the mirror and, and, you know, one of these things, maybe, maybe Aaron's starting to drink his own Kool-Aid too much because a lot of people are showing a lot of respect, like, People including me. And at some point it's gonna be, it's, I guess it's really difficult for him to look in the mirror and say, Look, I am, I am one of the major issues here. Yeah. And, and from my perspective, Char you, you, I've talked about this, this, this theory I have ad nauseum on this podcast, but my theory of, you know, I'm always rooting for a good team the week before they play the Cowboys cuz good teams don't usually lose to in a row. So I was kind of rooting for Green Bay to win this game. So cuz the Cowboys child, Green Bay this weekend. But I'm starting to wonder, maybe Green Beatus isn't, isn't even a good team. You know, maybe they're just like, not, not that. How, how can you, how can they be a good team? Well, they lost four in a row, and when have five in a row now, and we'll we'll, we'll preview it. I, I'm, I don't know what the spread is, but I think Dallas is definitely gonna be favored in this one, even though it's, it's in Lambo. And he's had their number, so we'll see how that goes. But yeah, man, tough loss for the Packers and Lion's making enough plays on defense, showing out and and getting Dan Campbell's second win of the season. We'll see what they do the rest of the way, but sure. Let's talk about another game that was an upset, and I think it's the antithesis of Aaron Rogers. Well, I, I'm sorry, just to cut you off. The, the Cowboys are favored by five in. Yeah, that's substantial. Buy five in Lambo and 97% of the money is betting the Cowboys. Yeah. So what does that tell you? I didn't mean to cut you off on that, but, but you know, there's just something I thought that was that, that that's an indication of, of how the Packers are playing. Yeah. It's, it's, it's, it's bad when the team whose number he's had is favored by five at Lambo. Right? That's that's no bu Oh sure. Let's go to another. Bills falling to the Jets in New York, and then the Raiders falling to the Jaguars in Jackson. But I think we were most shocked by the bills. And this one char, this is 2017 Victory Jets, eed this out. More impressive to me was they got this win. Zach Wilson Thorn for just 1 54, but the Jets man getting solid ground production out of both Michael Carter and James Robinson in the absence of Reese Hall being out and they just hung around. Play Good de Josh Allen. 16 incomplete passes, two interceptions. Okay, no touchdown passes. He rushed for two T. Starts on the ground, but just not an efficient game. Through the air for Josh Allen, one of those where Jets hung around, hung around, hung around, and took control at the end. And we talked about Aaron Rogers and his lack of accountability. Josh Allen, after this game said, It's tough to win when your quarterback plays like sh. So he, he owned it fully, but this was not a typical Buffalo Bill's game. And wouldn't, you know it char the jets at six and three tied her first place. Actually not tied. They're, they're, they're, they're a half game outta first place. It's six and three. The bills are still six and two. So but firmly entrenched with second place in the AFCs. Six and two bills, six and three Jets, six and three Dolphins, five and four Patriots. AFCs getting pretty competitive all of a sudden, despite Buffalo being the clear favorite. Absolutely no. Look I actually I know we didn't record preview with all the stuff that was going on in Dallas last week, but that I, I told one of my friends Bills are gonna have, bills are gonna lose a couple of games. I mean, it's just the nature. It is nature of the beast. Yep. And who better, who better? Than, than a solid defense that's within their own division. So I, I kind of mentioned that the bills, if they're not careful they might, you know, they might lose this game or make it close. So it, it's, it's really, honestly, it's a divisional game against a really, really good young defense. And, and look, the Packers, one thing that they did, they, they, they played one of their better games against the big bills two weeks ago. When they showed the recipe to come back against the bills, was just, was just running the ball, keeping the keeping the bills off the field. That's what they did. That's, they play good defense sauce gardener. How a clutch intercept. He's phenomenal. Yeah. He's What a pick's been. Char we haven't talked, we don't talk about this a lot on the show, if ever, is Robert Law legit? Like, is, is, is, is he a good coach? Like, is this, How legit is this team with Roberts law at the helm? Listen I'm, I found myself being happily sur surprised cuz I always thought he's a great defensive mind and I wasn't sure. And look in the, in the past defensive defensive gurus that became head coaches didn't fair too well. Look, look at Chicago a couple a couple years ago. Look at Denver a couple years ago. But, but he's, look, he's turning it around and and Ander's from you know, from three. You know, cause that's, that's what he reminds me of. He reminds me he's built and, and, and look, no, he's, he's one of our people. So he's a, he's a Middle Eastern guy, so obviously I root for him. But No, he's, he's, Look, you can't, you can't argue with results. You just can't. You can't, you can't. And and you know, the thing with the Jets that I'm, I'm, that worries me, Zach Wilson just hasn't really. I haven't seen the development from them. And they picked him what second? Overall, a few years ago. Like if he lives up to even like 70, 80% of, of, of the hype of a, of a draft pick that high, that could be a phenomenal team. Phenomenal. But he just hasn't really been like, Honestly, this is crazy to say. I actually think the Jets offense ran better with Joe Flaco, honestly. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. But they'll never do that. But like the Jets actually had a legit passing game the first few weeks with fla. Yeah. No, they, they look, they did. And those young players on the defensive side took a, took a few took a few weeks to kind of, to get settled in. Guys like saw Starner and, and look, they're defense. You can't argue with that defense. And then they also lost Bri Hall, who, I mean, remember how felt about Bri Hall pre Yeah. Oh, and he was, And it, so it sucks Cause he was really taken off too. Yeah. He was like, he was turning into one of the, you know, best running backs in, in, in the league. And, And you know, they lost them, but, you know, I liked what they did. They went and caught James Robinson from from Right move from, yeah. From Jacksonville. So, so, you know, Green Bay Packers pay attention. I mean, you know, it's, it's like, you know, how, how hard, how hard was it for them to go and to go and get to go and within. They went and got a trade within conference for, you know, for, for what they missing. So no, I, I really like, I, I really like what the just are doing there because look at it. The, the, the New England Patriots are basically the bottom seed. In that, in that division. And, and I feel like if you would've said that five years ago that you're gonna have the bills, dolphins, jets, and then, and then Patriots, you would've, you would've thought I was crazy. It's, it's cyclical. I still have a ton of confidence in Buffalo. This was a hiccup for them, hopefully learning experience. Oh, absolutely. And, and, and, and something to monitor. Josh Allen did have a, an elbow issue in this one. It's being monitored. I'm not sure what the status is there. Hopefully he's okay. Didn't seem serious. Throwing hand elbow on a quarterback. You wanna answer that, But also, but here, here's the, here's the significance of this loss. The loss in itself. I don't care about you gonna, you're gonna have those, you're gonna have those first playoff seating, playoff seating, home field, playoff seating, as well as, look two weeks in, in a row. Now we saw that the, that the. You know, aren't almighty like you, you see? So, so a team like Kansas City is, is paying attention to this, but what's the difference is, is Kansas City hates running the ball and that seems he hates running the ball. Yeah. Right, right, right. So, but shark, let's go to the last upset Vegas. At Jacksonville following 27 to 20 after taking a 17 zero lead on the first half. Sure. This is a third game this year. The Raiders have lost after being up 17. Nothing, they're, This is bad. They're two and six. Devonte Adams in this one. Eight catches for 1 46 and two tds in the first half, finishing, excuse me, eight for 1 28 and two tds finish at 10 for 1, 46 for the game. So basically it was a non-factor in the second. Car couldn't hit the side of the barn in the second half. They completely threw this game away, lit it on fire after having control. How do you let Jacksonville come back and beat you like this after taking a lead? This is bad. And, and look, I know Mark Davis is committed to Josh McDaniels. How can McDaniels not be in the hot seat now? How can he not be? And here's the question I really have, right? Raiders are playing the cult. This. If the Jeff Saturday Colt, we just finished talking about at the top of, at the top of this episode, if they come into town and they beat the Raider somehow with Sam Ellinger and Jeff Saturday, how does McDaniels have a job after that? Honestly, I mean, it's probably not gonna happen, but, But man, if it did, what do you say to that, Char, If. I, it would, well, first of all, if it did happen, K, it would have zero reasons. Jeff, Saturday would have zero reasons for that victory. Okay. But I'm just saying, But the optics Right. I get what you're saying with the optics. Yeah, I, I mean, if there's ever a reason or not really a reason, I don't, I, I ne I never believe in firing coaches in their first. Just because of the investment you've made and, and the time that it takes. But if there were ever a reason to fire coach in their first year this would be it. This would, because, Cause here, here's what, what I'm showing to you. Look, they lost to the Cardinals was the second week of the season whenever that that was one of the games they, Yeah. Yeah. And and so it was, look, that that was a bad loss. And it shows me that this team can't do halftime adjustments. Yeah. That's what it shows me. Or, or they, they can't adjust to the other team's adjustment. Right. Cause clearly the Jaguars did something and the Raiders couldn't counter punch. Yeah. No, it's, Well, well, that's all, that's all part of it. That's all part of it. Like, you need, you need to have the ability to, to make adjustments. Forget coming back from a deficit. How about you don't lose a 20 point advantage that you have? Yeah. Like, like, come on. You have, it's, this clearly falls on, on the shoulders of the. This clearly falls on the shoulders. It absolutely has to. Who's their defensive coordinator? That's, that's what I wanna know. The Raiders defensive coordinator. I mean, look, that's a guy named Paul. Yeah. Paul Gunther. Oh. Right. Well, I mean, it's not like he's a complete unknown. Like, like I don't No, no. He's been around. Yeah. So I, again, this is, this is a situation where, where this purely falls on the coaching stuff. I mean, it kind of reminded me they have six quarters the, the, the game before and then the, the second half of this game were, they were incapable of, of ge, of scoring. You have one of the game's best receivers. You have a running back that was tear the NFL up. The guy had 130 yards going in a halftime. He finished with 1 46. Yeah, I mean, that's, that's, they just completely imploded on offense. And look, I, I don't wanna make this all about the Raiders, you know, taking a dump in the second half, Travis at the end, sensational 28 carries 109 yards, two touchdowns. I mean, he was the stop the straw that threw the. Forge Jacksonville's offense and did really well. Lawrence, another 53 yards on the ground for him as well. They were efficient. You know, Christian Kirk finally getting back in the lineup. He had been kind of quiet for a few weeks, looking like a number one receiver for them. So look, I mean, Jaguar is adjusted. Give him credit, they punch back and the Raiders were not able to, to to make the, the necessary strategy changes and the second half to win. And. I'm saying it right now. McDaniels McDaniels is, is is getting his key card revoked. If they lose to the cults at home, led by Jeff Saturday and Sam Mellinger, no chance. I don't think it's gonna happen. And I'm sure, and again, you can tell when it's spread or the Yeah, what, who's favored, how much the Raider favored by, but. There's no way McDaniels is left back in the facility if they lose that game, no chance. And I think Mark Davis is gonna be watching that one very closely. Very closely. And it also depends how they win, right? If they eek out a win, barely against that team, still not very good. You've gotta come out and win convincingly, in my opinion, for this one, to to not cost him his job or, or him to continue. So you're saying even, even if they, even if they win a close, He's still fired. No, I'm not saying he is fired, but I'm saying he's still in the hot seat. He's still in the hot seat. Right, right. That, that, that, that's all I'm saying. Shark, we had a few near upsets here, right? We had your boy Mike Rebel, giving the Chiefs and Mahomes and Andy Reed all they could handle with Malik s at the helm. We had the, the, the, the birth of a potential star here, Justin Fields for the second week in a row. Sensational electrifying as the bears quarterback giving Miami fits ultimately following 35, 32. But what a game that was. And then your Washington Commander Char, I'm sorry, I'm not saying you are cuz they lost you played for them, right? So that's legitimate, but had control this game against the, against the six and one Vikings coming in on this one. They were up 10 points in the fourth quarter, but then seated 13 unanswered points to Minnesota and the fourth quarter to fall 20. 17 sharp, which near upset here, most impressed you. It has to be Tennessee. Because look, I, and there, I don't think, I don't think I've found somebody that's more of a fan of my cable than myself, mainly because of my personal connection to em. You know, incredible. At this point, at this point. The secret's out, right? He's, he's, he's, But how do we always find our look? How is it that the Tennessee Titans year in, year out are overlooked because they don't have the anybody? Because you know why? Cuz their players aren't on fantasy teams. And they're probably not the kind of team you want to use in Madden to play with, cuz they're, they're not sexy. They just get, they just get it done and, and it's very bell checking in the sense that his game plan is always, seems like it's custom to his opponent. You're not gonna get the same titans every week. Obviously the exception of Derek Henry getting the ball. Cuz you, you gotta feed the beast. But I mean, let's talk about that too. Derek Henry's second straight hundred yard game. He looks like he's kind of back, right? I know he's, he does, he does. I, I, I discounted him. I discounted him, but he's back. Absolutely. And Malik and Malik Willis against the Tex. Only attempted 10 passes in this game, concluded five. He completed five freaking passes and none of'em to a wide receiver. And still, and still the titans were up with seven minutes left and this ball game forced overtime. I mean, I understand they didn't hang on and I win. I understand. Yes, it's bad. I think from, from the time they scored 14 points in the first quarter, in the first half, they got one first down. The rest of the. Offensive stuff, but they hung, man, they, they fought tooth and nail. This was kinda like the, this is kinda like the, the Dan Campbell thing. Like they're gonna, they're gonna outward, they blow their kneecaps and, and bite their leg. I mean, it was that kind of a game. And they were getting scrappy, man. They were giving Travis Kelsey Fitz. I mean, they were beating crap out of him. And the titans were going off the theory, the res can't call holding, holding every play. Right? So we're just, we're just gonna keep holding. And they ended up calling it sometimes, but they, they, they. Kansas City up. Mahomes got beat up. Kelsey got beat up and really like Juju had to come in and make some plays, but I really liked Tennessee's defensive recipe in this game. Those, to those people that complain constantly. Why do teams, why do teams keep running the ball? Why do teams believe in this? Oh, three hours on the cloud of us? This is the reason why. This is the reason why, because you know, I, I, I've used this term before. Tennessee comes out and they tend to rise. Their opponents. Yeah, whoever, me using that term. Oh yeah. Those, those, those three and a half, four yard gains in the first half become five or five or six in the second half or in the fourth quarter. And that's how they're able to impose their will on, on, on opponents. And that's something that analytics cannot account for. That's, that's something analytics should not account for. All those signs that I say, these decisions make, have, have psychological effect. There is something to be said when the other team is coming and punching you right in the mouth. That changes things up. No question about it. And it, and it, it worked for a long period of time. It just, Tennessee did, didn't quite have an off offense down the stretch, but they hung, man, I mean, they held homes to a field goal. Over time, they just could not muster a drive when they needed it most. This was one where if they had tahi, they luckily win this game. In my opinion. They, they, they needed some symbol. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. They needed some sum. I, I'm not saying Tan Hill's a world beater. Butt hill's capable. T Hill is a professional quarterback that will complete more than five passes. Yeah, I know. I mean, hold on. I don't wanna take anything away from the rookie. He had what? He had a hundred yards throwing the ball. He had 80 yards. Five or 16 for 80. I mean, it was okay. Five or 16 for, So, but, but do you, do you remember, how do you watch that game? The, the first play of the game was like completion. So it was going 30 cars that, you know, 3.9 quarters. That's, that's the point I was gonna. The first play was a, was a, the first play was a screen pass to, Was it Tyler Con? No. To their tight end. It was a Chris. Ooo, that's, that's who it's, He had yards. Yard. Yard. Yeah, you're right. So, so that was my point. A screen pass. One of those completions was a screen pass to a tight end. So take that screen pass out where the, where the dude broke, what, six tackles? Yeah. And he basically completed four passes for 30 yards. This is a Tim Tebo type of a game. But, but the difference is that in those games, Tim Tebo was the reason why they won in this game was just Mike Rebel. And, and, and look, he is, I I, I keep telling myself this year, after year after year, stop, stop underestimating your boy Mike Rebel. And, and look, this is the time that this is, this is the guy that you can call my boy. He was my boy when we were teammates in Pittsburgh. He's, he's a big supporter of him for years now. So he's, he's incredible. He's, he's up there with Pete Carroll to me as, as a coach of the year candidate for, with the job he's done with the seeming little talent that he is got. Sure. Ma Patrick Mahomes 25 in completions in this game alone. 43 out of 68, 4 46 in a touchdown. But really, I think it was the 63 yards with his legs that were very crucial in this game. It was a third and 17 in the fourth quarter of a seven minutes left. That kept the drive moving. That was a nice run. A game tying driver. That was huge. I mean, ultimately they're getting it done, but this is an one of those odd games where I, I feel better and I'm more impressed by the team that lost on the team that won great win from my homes and the chief. Rebel man, what can you say? Very impressive win. And how about Justin Field chart? What can you say about him? The past two weeks sensational, we thought, I mean, we saw him put it on his play at Dallas and that solid defense last week, and he does it to miami hundred 23 yards and three tees through the air. And how about this 1 78 and a touchdown on the ground. A 61 yard touchdown run included in there on 15 carries. He was the leading bulk carrier. After David, before David Montgomery in this one even so Justin Fields putting up 32 points, one man wrecking crew of offense. This guy is becoming a star in front of our eyes, isn't he? No. It is incredible what he can do with his legs. He's, he's the second of Cam Newton in terms of just being a strong, powerful guy. You're kinda player, huh? Yeah. That, that, that runs, you know, I love, I love me, players like that. But, but Chicago's, Chicago's getting it done well, almost getting it done with follow the same formula, kind of like what the Titans and the Seahawks are using, which is, which is pound people in the. And punch'em in the face and just pound'em running the ball. Because look, Chicago, I think I saw a sta where they're the first team in a long, long time where they've had over 250 yards or 275 yard yards rushing in three straight games or four straight games. I, I, again, I, I hope I, I wouldn't be shocked if I'm misquoting, but you get, you get the gist of my argument in terms of when you can run like that. When you can run like that. You can be in any, you can be in any game. The defense now, the defense now has been, has been underwhelming. The, obviously they traded away Robert Quinn, They traded away Roan Smith. So the defense is gonna have holes in it, man. But when's the last time you could say for the bears legitimately. They're fun to watch on offense. I can't remember the last time Mitch, Mitch Taki's rookie year. Ah, right. It wasn't like this, in my opinion. This is No, but, but he was, but he was a first pick and he was making plays on his legs. They were, they weren't, so they weren't trying to pigeonhole him into being a, a, I actually liked. I like their offense when they had, Remember when they had Al Sean Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte? That was, That was a fun offense. That was, That was look, but okay. They had Jay Cutler, who I'm actually a fan of Jay Cutler's. I think he's a great, Well, he was a great talent. Smoking Jay. Yeah, he was talented. He just didn't really care, but he was right. But look man, they traded for Chase Claypool, Cole Ette is coming along. Darnell Mooney's I think is a very solid piece you can build. And then Montgomery and Herbert, you can build around that. Man this, this is solid. The bears. That offense, that offense is all of a sudden looking good. Yes, looking long term too. Matt Eber flew through head coach. He's a defensive guy. Maybe he didn't want the lingering contracts of Robert Quinn and and wan with the guys he didn't draft. So like I expect him to put his mark on this defense over the next few off seasons. We'll see what man, Chicago. They're interesting and you have not been able to say that for a little while. So good for them. Miami status quo here. Solid game two. 300 yards, three tds, Tyre, kill and jail and wall Let on fire. I gotta say I love jail and wattles touchdown dance. I love that he just fully embraces Watling. goes like this when he, No, listen. Come on. But whatcha are you gonna tell me about two on, out, down. Downplay. Downplay. I mean, I mean, look, The Bears defense is as porous. He did well, He did well. He, But again, Char, did you watch, I watched every snap of this game. Every snap of this game. Right? He got at least four, 500. Sorely Underthrown balls, like Tyre Kill had 107 yards. He could have had two 50. He throwing, He doesn't have an arm. It's, it's not that he doesn't have an arm. It's not that he doesn't have an arm. It's very easy. Toth throw a guy like Tyre kill. It's very easy. You're trying to, you're trying to tell me that too. Can't sort of, at some point, I'm telling you. And with an opponent with embedded defenses in the bear. It's going to come around and bite'em in the butt when it matters. I'm telling you all, all I, all I know is that they're in second place in their division. They beat the bills and coupled the games they lost with their starting quarterback. What? I think they only have one loss with their starting quarterback. That's all I know. You, you're right, you're right. And actually, and actually they, they, and that loss, he got hurt in the middle of the game. I, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do the two a favor. He got concussed in the middle of a Bengals game and it counts as a lawsuit. Cause he started the game. He didn't really get to finish the game. Right. You're actually five and oh when he starts and finishes the game. So I understand, but I'm not putting to in the same realm of Deshaun Watsons and Patrick Mahomes and people like that. All I'm saying is that he answered, he answered the call in terms of the dolphins will not be drafting a quarterback. I, I would've rather saved that last first round pick for Bradley Chubb and packaged it with something instead at the Green Bay for Aaron and Rogers. Cause he doesn't wanna be in Green Bay. Anyway, that's, that's a pipe dream. Speaking of, of, of, you know, teams. I don't believe in what teams, but things I don't believe in. Minnesota, the, the FGA seven and one biking, Let me hear it. Let me hear it. They look, they were down two scores to a, not a very good commander's team. The commanders have been punching above their weight for a little bit, but this is not a very good team with Taylor Heineke at the helm. Vikings. Yes. Uh, They score 13, 13 unanswered, but there's seven in one shark. You and I both know this is not a true seven in one football team. This is not, You don't have to be your, your commanders had'em by the cahones. And just, And just, and just, Okay. They had him by the coones because of the referee getting basically blocking, blocking the, come down that. Anyway, it shouldn't have come down. And that was of course, that's what put'em up by 10. That's what put'em up by 10. They were still up before that in the fourth quarter. I know. They were up by three. They were up by three. Well, who, who's to say if that was incomplete, they wouldn't have scored anyway? You don't know that really are, are you gonna fu are you gonna fu at whatever, What was it? A 50 yard bomb? To Curtis Samuels, because I mean, the concentration by Samuels in that play was really impressive. Okay, See this? This is what you're deflecting. Now, I asked you, I said, Are you, I'm Cowboy fan defending Washington the compli? No. Channeling your inner skip, and you gonna do everything you can because you wanna focus on. The Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota is not a top five NFL team. They're not a top five NFL team. I have news, I have news for you. They're gonna, they're gonna get a home playoff game and they're gonna lose it. That's hot. Take. Minnesota will not win a playoff game this year. You know why? Cuz they'll have to play a real team in the playoffs. Okay. Can I, Can I tell you stuff in Kuro, all they can do is beat the teams that they're given. Yeah. That cliche's true. And we just saw, and we just saw a Raiders. Go to Jacksonville and, and, and blow a 20 point lead or 24 point lead, whatever it was, I forget, but would you rather be, Look, to me, a sign of a bad team is, is a team that loses close games and a sign of a good team that has the coones to come back through adversity. So I don't care who they're, but I'm not saying they're bad. I'm not saying the Minnesota is bad. Minnesota is Minnesota. Minnesota's always the same team. They're kind of that like upper mediocre on the cusp of the playoff. They're just having me playing awful teams this year, and so they have a better record. But, but I'm not saying they're bad, but I'm just, all I'm trying to say is Sure they're not that far off for being the same old Vikings, that they're not that much better. That, that, that's my point. I meant the difference. The difference is that the Vikings always had Green Bay. On, on their doorstep. So that was kind of blocking, blocking. And now Green Bay in an off year is why they're elevated. Right. And, and this is exactly their year. Remember what I told you? I said Minnesota has a legitimate chance to make it to the NFC Championship game. They, they have a legitimate chance. Well, yeah. And look, and look. They're, they're, they're on the road at Buffalo this week. So that'll be interesting. And I think that, that, that. Let's see on this one. If Josh Allen's elbow is in an issue and he can play in this one, this is going to be a good litmus test. And then after that, sure. Three straight home games, cowboys, patriots, and jets at home. Those aren't cake walks, but they'll probably go two and one in that stretch, maybe three. And oh, we'll see. We'll see. And then depend, what would, what would they do if they beat your cowboys? I'll give'em credit words to do, but I'll say give. I'll say, Give'em to me. Give'em to me again in the playoffs. Okay. But I mean, it's, Look, K, what did I say before the year? What did I say before the year? I said Minnesota has a dynamic offense that can score on anybody, and they have it better than average defense. Do you remember me saying that? And I told you Minnesota's gonna make some noise. Remember? I think I punish. That was true. That that's been true for three years. That's all I'm trying to say. That's not like a new development. You're correct, but it's, it's also been the case for a little while now. That's all I'm trying. It's not something I think what's upsetting you, I think what's upsetting you is the fact that that Green Bay is, is floundering, has kind of made me look like a sage. And it's, it's absolutely made you look as good. You kept telling me, So what, So what? They still have to go through Green Bay, so they're not gonna win a playoff game. That, that, that, that, that's my next thing. They're not gonna win a playoff. More than likely they're gonna end up playing a team. That, that took second in, in, in the, in the NFC West. Like maybe, maybe the Rams, if, if they make it or, or the, or the, or, or the, or the Seahawks or Seahawks. If they play San Francisco, they're in trouble. That's, that's the only team, by the way, honestly. And gimme, gimme Seattle on that game. Give me Seattle on that game. Straight up. Well, it, it, it all depends on who wins the division. I much rather as a guy who's rooting for Kevin O'Connell because a buddy of mine went to college with him he would be, Thank you very much. Yeah. As I would much rather have him see face Seattle or, or maybe even Tampa or, or, or team from, you know. Sure. None of those teams. Like, it's probably gonna be like, it's probably gonna be, you know, Tampa, one of the divisions. We, we'll get a home. Right, but like it'll probably be realistically San Francisco or Dallas. That, that's probably what it's gonna be. Cuz Dallas is is not gonna win the East with the way Philly's playing. Right. They're gonna get, they're gonna get the bottom seed in the, because they're not gonna get a first employer. They're gonna get a tough, they're gonna get a tough draw. It's, it's, it's gonna be like the NFC West and NFC East Second Place teams are gonna be a good, it's gonna be a good team. Well, the question is, who's the, who's gonna be the third team? The third team coming in as a wild card. That's who they're gonna get. Yeah. Yeah. It's not gonna be, it's not gonna be Dallas. It's not gonna be San Francisco, it's gonna be No. Cause if, if they're the, if they're the two seed behind Philly, that means they play the, they play the, No, no, no. Philly has a buy. Philly has a buy. So the second seed gets the worst. I know, but I'm saying they're, Yeah. So they're, they're the second seed. So they play, they play the seventh seed. They'll play Right. So, so they're not gonna face San Francisco or or the Francisco, Seattle or the Cowboys. They're gonna play another team that's kind of snuck its way into the playoffs. So they're gonna have a, they're gonna have an easy, they're gonna have an easy first round. There's no chance they make that conference championship though, regardless. Or let's, let's talk about one of those NFC playoff teams, and how about Tom Brady In a game that really, it seemed like nobody wanted to win Tampa Bay, eeks out a final game, winning drive, 68 yards and 30 seconds, 35 seconds. Tom Brady. To give the bucks a 16, 13 win over the Rams. This is Tom Brady's first time beating the Rams as a Buccaneer that had his number the last three times. Really taking that, ripping the heart outta the rams in this one. Eight dropped for the bucks. I mean, this was, it got bad and it was very disgusting. Like Evans, it was, it was it was Scotty Miller. It was Chris Godwin. Scotty Miller's was the worst one. Yeah. I mean, so it seemed like nobody wanted to win this game. And both teams I guess, played good defense throughout, but they just, they gave Brady one too many drives and he took advantage of it. 58 pass attempts for Tom Brady. 36 outta 58, 280 yards is actually was, it was going to be the first time in his career that he'd thrown for more than 50 pass attempts without a touchdown. He ended up getting touchdown at the end, but but yeah, man, and it was the first touchdown to his tight end this year, rookie Cade Otten, making a big time, I think a 25, 27 yard. On the first play of that game, winning drive, and then capping it off with that touchdown to put the bucks up once and for all. What'd you see in this one? Char? Right. You know, I'm a Rams fan. I, I grew a Rams and Raider Raiders fan living here in Orange County, California, because they used to play at Anaheim. So I was a big Rams fan. I, I celebrated when they won the Super Bowl. I was all happy for'em. And generally speaking, I mean, like subconsciously you gonna, you, you gonna kind of like gloss over issues for your favorite team. So having said that, take away one, play the Cooper Cup, phenomenal. Play the Rams. Were disgusting. The Rams were lucky. The Rams were lucky that they only lost by, what was it, Four points, three points, whatever, whatever it was. Okay. Tom Brady. Well, to your point, well to your point, we talked about with, with Willis, similar thing here. Similar, not the same. Stafford had 165 yards that touched on a Cooper Cup with 69 yards. So you basical through for 96 yards the rest of the way. Yeah. Ku Stafford isn't right. There's something wrong. There's something wrong with him. Stafford's not right. I think. I think his shoulders hurting and the old line is just garbage. Vita. Ve I mean, what again? Okay. You can't really, you can't really base it off of. Because VDA A is a fucking monster. Yeah. But they haven't been able, they haven't been able to to stop, to, to stop anybody staffer's on his back every, every single day. The loss of Andrew Woodworth and Austin Corporate to Carolina Nevada's, Nevada's own Austin Corporate. Yep. To look, look that and, and they've gotten a running game. I mean, Acres doesn't wanna be there. Henderson looks washed up. Who else do they have? You know, they don't have a running. The reason why they don't have a running game is because they lost that left tackle. And they lost. Yeah. And they lost that right guard orbit. Yeah. Yeah, you're right, you're right. I mean, I mean, that's why they have the same running back as they did. Look last year, Henderson and, and, and Champ Acres were world beat and fantasy. Do you remember that? But yeah, they were, but you're right. The line was right. And it's just, it's just what, what a difference a year makes. It's just, it's a, the, the fact that they let Austin corporate go and that's the guy they, they could have. That's what I'm shocked about. And again, I'm not playing Homer, Homer boy to Nevada player. No, no, no Dell, No Dell either, obviously is potentially a factor. I know he, But that didn't, but that didn't affect the running game crew. Right? You're, I mean it's, it's, it's just, I mean, I don't know what's going, I've never seen a Super Bowl championship team play like this, the, the, the following season. I've never. It's bad. And now, and now with the wind show, the bucks back in first place and the NFC South, not saying much certain four and five, but it seems like somebody that's gotta win that division by default, probably gonna be the bucks. But I don't even know that I have much confidence in the bucks to do anything in the playoffs. This is a pillow fight, man. I, I'm not, I don't walk away from this. Loving either team going forward. Tom Brady got the better of'em and great comeback, but Tom played well to. Okay. No, I, I see Tom under throwing a lot of passes also, but dude, he, Okay. Tom Brady brought him back twice. Kuru when it mattered. The, the drop by Scotty Miller, I'm sorry, it only hit you in the hands and then in the chest. He basically had two game winning drives at the end, not one So the idea of him bringing him back twice. And here's the thing, even though I'm a Rams fan, I was so happy for Tom Brady. I was, I was rooting for Tom Brady to, to get that because all the shit that's going on and all the fucking Brady haters are, are, are, are just lining up. Are just lining up and saying, Oh, he can't throw the ball. Tom Brady can still throw the ball. He can, It's, look, talk about losing your offensive line. He lost his AllPro guard retirement. He lost another Pro Bowl type guard to Cincinnati. I believe he went to Cincinnati, right? Yep. Alex Cap Mar, I think it was Kappa went to Cincinnati and Marette retired. Okay. Yeah, Yeah, exactly. All pro Center Your All pro center. Blue is Neop. Right? And what have I always said about Tom Brady? I think Kristin Wolf has hurting this one. I think he played, he, he I, I saw, but I think he, I'm thinking, I think he went out midway too. I don't think he did. He, Okay. So, but, but here's the thing. Tom Brady, I've always said that the secret to stopping Tom Brady is not enabling him to set his feet and, and throwing that ball. Right. That's why a lot of his balls are shored when he doesn't get a chance, cuz he doesn't have the natural God given ability to throw it off his back. Foot. Foot like a Josh Allen or, or Patrick Mahomes or something like. Or, or Aaron Rogers. He has to step into his throat. And the way you take it away is, is, is, you know, you put, you pressure him in the middle and the loss of his restarting guys in the middle, come on. I, I think I was, it was a good win for him. Good to see him get back in the win column amidst all. And I was rooting for him. Honest to God. Cause the Rams didn't deserve that game. The Rams did not deserve that game. Tough, tough outing for them. We'll see how the rest of the season goes for both these teams, but for the. Tampa back in the driver's seat. Did you see him hug? Did you see him the way he was hugging? His offensive coordinator. Yeah. Yeah, that was great. And he started his press conference by saying that was fing Awesome guys. But uh, so that was good. Are you finally convinced that I'm not a Tom Brady hater? Yes. For now, I'm, Oh my God. Oh my good lord. But man, we gotta wrap up. It's been great as always, buddy. We'll be back on Thursday to continue our preview of, of the actions coming up. For Sharp Products, I'm sa Fabi. It's always fun Right buddy. Take care soon. Take.
