The access of football is back again, and here we are. Shar Super Bowl preview week. A lot to cover because in that time span as well, some headlines coming down the pipe. Tom Brady officially, officially retiring, so we'll get into that. A lot of changes to the N F L coaching landscape. Sean Payton to Denver. Damico. Ryans to Houston, Frank Reich to Carolina. Some coordinators shake up as well. We'll talk about those implications and then we'll get into the big time. Matchup the Super Bowl. Preview, the Andy Reid Bowl as I'm calling. Eagles chiefs first time ever. Two brothers are going head-to-head as players in the Super Bowl, the Kelsey Bros. That'll be fun to talk about. So yeah, man, it's a lot going on. Char how have you been and, and how you keeping up with, with this, with this new cycles? It's it's been flowing quite quite fervently these past couple weeks. I've been good. Thanks. And honestly, I really haven't kept up much with with football. Just kind of took a week off. You know, we have to wean ourself away from the greatest sport on earth. Yeah. And I, I, I, I used last week as, as a coping mechanism for the, you know, for the following months to come to kind of like, kind of wean myself off of it. I know you're right. And it's, you know, I noticed myself too this past weekend. You know, I know it's the Pro Bowl, but, and we'll talk about that a little bit too. Like the Pro Bowl really isn't what it used to be. So I don't look forward to it, the, the way that I used to. And so it's, for me, it's just something that I record now and watch later. So I don't really count that as like a, a, a Sunday football type deal. It's more like a, you know, like a, like a adornment I, I view later in the day. But I was like, man, for the first time I spent. The majority of Saturday and Sunday just inside playing with my kids. And I'm like, man, I'm such a, I'm such a better person. what's not the fall season? And yeah, I think my, my wife would agree. But in any case, the thing, the things that's funny, But yeah, that's, that's that's how I was weaning off of it. One, one more to go, man. And then we're into the off season, but we know Char there really is no off season, right? It's just, it's just the way it goes. But yeah, we'll miss the football. But until then, we've got a lot to cover. We'll kind of go rapid fire on the headlines and then get straight into main course that has a Super Bowl preview. Char Tom Brady, we've talked about him ad nauseum on this podcast. He walks away officially. He posted it on social media. It was a very kind of, Short, I would say short and sweet type deal where he said, listen, you're only allotted one really heartfelt emotional post. I used mine last year, so I'm, I'm retiring. This is it guys. That's kind of what the deal was. What did you make of the way he retired and do you think he's actually done this time? Unfortunately I I do think, I do think this is, and and I like, I like what he did because he didn't like, he didn't milk it. Like, you know, he is, didn't take us through the whole hub up. We kind of went through it last year. And I kind of wish that he would come back, but I don't think he will because I really wanted to see him in, in, in Oakland. And I know that the Vegas Raiders. I said Oakland, I'm in Vegas. Yeah. The Vegas Raiders wanted him to come back. I mean, like when I was telling you that he's going to Oakland, I never, in my mind, did I think that he's gonna retire. I just assumed that he's not gonna end on this bad run. Yeah. And I'm, I'm telling you right now, people inside the Raiders organization were telling me that he's coming. That they're gonna basically do, you know, they're gonna pick him up and it's, it's set done with, you know, he knows how to run the offense. It's a complicated offense and I mean, it make so much sense. It made so much sense chart to your point, like not only is Josh McDaniels there and running the same offense like you're talking about, but I mean, look at the weapons he'd have at his disposal, just between Devonte Adams, hunter Renfro and and Darren Waller. I. That would, that would, that would probably rival any kind of trio of targets he's ever had. I know he had the great Randy Moss to play with. But that combination, man, that could have been something special. So I, yeah, I, I, I not surprised that, at least maybe crossed his mind. What do you think ultimately pushed him the other direction? I, I, I think maybe he's actually saw his limitations. Really, you know, like he, he, he, he, he, he, he saw how he was on the field and I think that disheartened him. It didn't seem like his ball lost a zip though, you know? But I, but I'm sure obviously with age, like certain things fall off. He was missing a, he was missing a lot of open. He was, he was. There was so many of them he was missing. And I know that we kind of fu food, but here, here's the thing to Tom Brady's never been a guy that's got a great arm. He's never, you know, he's, he's a guy that, that has kind of lived, he's got a cannon. Yeah, and he's lived in, you know, and, and, and thrived on the short, dinkin, dunk passes. And he, he's always, you know, I mean like, look, here's, but, but, but sure. Here, here, here, here's what I'll, here's what I'll say though, in terms of like, there's this, I, there there's a perception we always have. And if you just, if you just look that I know the game has played, you know, more than just the stats, but if you look at the N F L passing leaders, Tom Brady. Finished third in passing, right? 25 touchdowns, nine interceptions. Justin Herbert was second in overall passing. He had, he had about 40, 45 yards before passing in. Tom Brady. 25 touchdowns. 10 interceptions, right? So like his season was on par with Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert had a really bad year to say Love Justin Herbert. We, we, you know, like and rightfully so, I'm just saying like, no, Justin Herbert had a bad. Don't, don't even, don't even gloss by it. Justin Herbert had a really bad year this year. Statistically speaking, what? Right. But what, what I'm saying is though, throwing for 4,700 yards, 25 tds nine picks the 25 tds was, was down from a year before. That's pretty efficient though. You're almost in a kind of a three. He broke the record for passing attempts. He. That he did do. I mean, let's, let's, let's put that in perspective. He broke How and, and, and beyond. Beyond that, how many, how many open passes did he miss? Yeah. I mean his, but if you look at it, his completion percentage actually wasn't, wasn't that bad. It was, it was basically, yeah. And a lot of his completions are near the line of scrimmage crew. I mean, come on, let's not, don't, don't, don't turn me into somebody that sounds like is, is is badmouthing Tom Brady? Cause that's not what I wanna get. I guess you're right. Cause I'm looking at. You know, Matt Ryan had a higher completion percentage technically, and we're not, we're not, we're not obviously Right. Putting his horn either. Right. So, so let's, let's call, look, he had, he had the worst season of his life. Let's, let's, let's call it what it was. Yeah. I mean, and, and, and, and the worst season of your life being third and passing at 46. Okay. That's, I mean, that's, to be ashamed of that was a shameful season for Tom Brady, for Tom for, by Tom Brady Standard. Yeah. So, and, and, and, and he's a prideful man. And he's a prideful man. And, and, and he's like, do I want to come back and have another year like this? Yeah. I mean, that's fair. That's fair. And, and you know, but to me it, I think, I think you're probably right. It just begs the question of cuz it really seems like, and I'm obviously we're not, we're not in the Brady household, but what it seemed like was, is. Tom Brady going back on his initial decision to retire was potentially like the straw that broke the camels back in his marriage, right? And so the logic was, well, look, if if this decision to come back really was what led to the end of his marriage, then it surely can't be just one year for one year. And then he's. So it almost makes you question like, man, like, was, was that worth it for him to push his marriage off the cliff for that one final year? It just, it seems so odd to me. Like there's, there's, feels like there's something here that I'm missing cuz it, it doesn't make any sense to me that you would sacrifice a marriage with a lifelong partner. Not just a marriage, but, you know, you've got two children with this woman, like, like why sacrifice all. So play one more season, then walk away it, it's odd because May, maybe because she's a witch. Okay. But Sure. I mean, obviously this time he retired without Gisele. Yeah. I, that, that shocked me. I, I mean like, like look, she was given, she was giving him the ultimatum, which she was making a power move, which is a complete bitch move to make again, you covered that. You covered that. But to go through that and then, and then quit now a year later, it's like, dude, you might as well just done it last year. That's what I'm saying. You might as well have done it last year and, and, and not, and, and not have sacrifice your, your family dynamics and all this other stuff. And, and by the way, it's not just the marriage char, I mean, like, you, like, you know, like it's, you've got two kids with this woman, right? So, and they're, and they're not adults, they're still children. So you've got custody. So there's a lot of, there's a lot of just kind of icky Factors you've gotta play out in your head and you're like, is that all worth it? Forget like, like maybe let's just assume for a second that maybe the marriage quality itself isn't perfect, but like all the custody stuff and the splitting of the assets, especially with people with that high of net worth, like is it all that worth it to play one more season? It's not just the marriage man, there's so many other things to consider in my opinion, but I, I think, but I think they had their finances, separat. I think that that's, that's, yeah, I think you're right. I think I read that they had a very they actually had a very clear. And simple prenups. So that part was actually easy. Right. So, and, and usually that's the, usually that's the the messy part. Yeah. So, but the kids man, it just seems, yeah. Like when you, because now he's gotta figure out when he is seen his kids and, you know, it's hard man. It's, it, it's hard to think about, especially when you're, I, I can imagine like, when your kids are small, it's hard to live in a world where you're not under the same roof as them every, every day. You know? That's, that's, that's crazy to me that you. Kind of go through all that. But look, I mean, here's the thing, like, nobody's perfect man. You know, and sometimes we make decisions with emotions and maybe we don't always consider the long-term consequences or, you know, may maybe, could it, could it be that their marriage was so bad that it was just like, Hey, whether I come back or not, this is gonna end anyway. Yeah. Those are things we'll never know, right? But either way, I think we're all a little bit. Especially kind of the way things developed in his personal life that he only came back and played one more year. No, I, I, I, I agree. And, and, and I agree with what you're saying and I, and I kinda, I kind of, again, as a, as, as a fan, not necessarily a Tom Brady fan, but a fan of his greatness you know, as an observer of his greatness for the past 20 some odd years. And, and keep in mind, he was in the league when I was still. You know, he was so it, it's like, it's like literally the last guy that, you know, the, the last guy to retire that I have any kind of a connection to. So yeah. So, you know, it's, look, I'm, I'll be 53 this year in July. So I mean, there, I mean, you gotta think, yeah, there's, there's nobody else. Maybe, maybe maybe Jason Peters who was in the league in 2001, that's still in the league. Like nobody, right? Yeah. Maybe Jason Peters came in, what, two years after that maybe. So, and he's considered an old guy, so but yeah, he, Jason Peters came in after me, but so yeah, so look, I, I, I, I don't wanna see him leave like this. I, I, I really wanted to come in and, and see him play against play against you know, the, the Broncos and the, and the Chiefs twice a year. And I kind of wanted him to see that in that offense and, and kind of, I was hoping for Josh McDaniels to maybe he can show that look, his system is actually legit, but it's just very difficult to. To run. So I, I'm still holding on. Hope that he comes back. Maybe takes a few months off. I I, I am, I am too. It doesn't seem that way though. I mean, he, he, but he did say he has that job lined up with Fox Sports and he did say he's gonna take the year. Just to kind of like get his personal life in order and, and adjust to post football life before he goes in the booth. So that'll be interesting to see how that plays out. But he's at least, I mean, I guess he's bought some time in terms of like, could he still come back? He hasn't committed anything else, so. We'll see. But, but I think what's he gonna do? Come back. I'm gonna retire a third time. Like, I guess, I mean, yeah. Yeah. Brett far always threatened it, right? And he finally, yeah. But, but, but it's, I, I almost, I, if I, if I had to guess what he's gonna do, he's not coming back. He's not coming back. And and, you know, so I don't know again, I would've loved to see it. And because I don't wanna see him going out in a. I agree. I agree, man. It's tough. And look, I mean it is kinda interesting as a Cowboy fan, they've never, they'd never beat oh seven all time against Tom Brady, and they do finally get that win in Tom Brady's final game. So a little bit of something to, to hang your hat on if you're a Cowboy fan. It's pretty desperate these days. As a cowboy fans, we, we, we've gotta find something to cling to here. And that would be, you know, getting, getting the win against Tom Brady for the first time in his final game. Let's go to the head coaching shuffle. Okay. Sean Peyton of the Broncos De Nico Ryans of the Texans, Frank Reich, two The Panthers, which hire do you think will make the most impact in year one? Sean Peyton. Why the most complete team, and, and I heard somebody, and I heard somebody tell saying that that he, he, he's, he has the hardest. Because the team is bad. And, and I'm like, who the hell gave this guy a job? Who said, broadcasting and analyzing? You know, all you gotta do is go back six months ago and you're talking about, you know the, the possibly a, a Super Bowl contending team with Russell Wilson going there and keep chief in mind. Remember how good James Winston was last year with Charles Peyton at the helm? Oh, yeah. Yeah. So you're trying to tell me that Russell Wilson. Is not as good as James Winston. Oh, bro, absolutely. And, and James looked like a completely different quarterback at times. Right. So, and, and look and, and Broncos, are they now one of the best defenses in, in, in the NFL still? Yes. I mean, they have two dynamic receivers. They have a phenomenal young running back. They actually have a pretty decent O line and. I mean, I don't, I don't get, they have 300 receivers Cortland Sutton, Jimmy and KJ Hamer. Yeah. Yeah. They, I mean, look, so I, I, I don't, I don't underst I do not understand how somebody was saying that, that that person needs to freaking get, get fired from their, from their position. Because to say that the Broncos, that Sean Payton's team is lacking, are you outta your. Here, here. Here's the thing, char like, like I think that person, they're probably of the mind that Russell Wilson can't be fixed. But I would say honestly, char, I would say even if Russell Wilson can't be fixed, Sean, like this is still a good team. There's still like, like there's still a lot, like, let's say worst case scenario, Russell Wilson is just gonna suck the rest of his career. Okay. don't be shocked at all. Like do you think, would you be surprised, char, if the Broncos draft the quarterback this year? Yes. You would be surprised. Yeah. Cause of the money. Ownership's not gonna let that happen. Let's say not. What? No, no, no. I'm not, I'm not saying like a first, second round. I'm just saying draft a court. Oh, oh, oh, no, no, of course. No, no, no. They're absolutely, in fact, it would be, it would be somewhat not criminal, but it would be for them not to do it. They, right. Yeah. They, and, and they can say We're drafting for a backup. and you know, we always, we always wanted, and nobody's gonna say anything if you draft somebody in the fifth round or fourth round and you know, you Right. And, and look, we have Dak Prescott and then we've got all these other guys that are, that are decent. So, yeah, absolutely not. You're right. And there's a, and there's a hot backup market too. You got guys like Tyler Huntley Cooper Rush that are gonna be out there. Who knows? But like, my point is like, Cooper Rush needs to stay in Dallas. I, I would love if he did. He, he, he's, he's a moron If he leaves Dallas. but I think he can get paid somewhere else. Yeah, but he's not, he's not gonna have the cons if he stays. Okay. Here, here's why. If I was, if I was advising Cooper Rush, I would say, you keep your ass in Dallas and you take less money in Dallas. Why? Because you will end up in the coaching staff when you can't play anymore, and you will end up having far more money. And that's and St. Your long-term gains. Yeah, you're right. And, and, and they take care of their guys. So guess so. Maybe not him, but the p I think my, my whole point was char that even if we were to take it to the absolute worst case scenario, right, and that is that Russell Wilson can't be fixed. Sean Payton sells a lot to work with with this. And his team, his team is better than new Orleans's team was a year ago. Yeah, exactly. The year before. And you know what, I, I think James Winston might be a free. So you, you bring him in as a backhoe is like, there's way, there's ways to fix this obviously with, with the amount of capital and picks invested in Russell Wilson. You wanna make it work. And by the way, just a, as a footnote, they used the first round pick. That was given to them in exchange for sending Bradley Chubb to Miami. They used that first round, pick the trade away to the Saints for the ability to Sean Pay, have Sean Peyton's rights essentially. So, but they shoulda had him, they shoulda had him include Taso Hill or or or likes, like's, like a part of the offense. Man. He's like a, he is a big role in that team. No, that's why I'm saying they should, they should've, they should have they, they, they, they should have included that in the in the mix. I know. I know, man. So that's, so yeah, I agree. I think maybe like biggest impact too. You could maybe argue, could it be Damco Ryans, just because the Texans are so bad, the only way he goes is up. And so even though he'll have an impact, they maybe won't go to the playoffs obviously, but they could maybe win six, seven games, for example, if Damco gets him pointed in the right direction. What, what do you think? I will never, I will never be money on, on great coordinators becoming head coaches until I, until I see how they do. I mean, yeah, I. all of'em are at some point, right? Like Sean Peyton was a great coordinator, but he obviously had to prove himself. Yeah. The Damico Ryan situation is interesting because the Texans are team. It's it's What was that? What was that? I heard someone referencing this thing where they talked about well, when someone's house gets struck by lightning, the great thing is, you know, for a fact it'll never happen again because there's like a one 37 trillion chance of that. So, The Texans being a team that have fired their last two coaches after, after one year, the chances of that happening a third time are pretty unlikely at this point. Right? So you think this is going to be a commitment? They did give damico. Similar to our buddy Dan, the Man Campbell, they gave damico Ryan's a six year contract, which is really unheard of. But I think that's probably something that Deco's representation pushed for saying guys. You know, damico wants the job, but you gotta give us a level of assurance that like, this isn't gonna be one and done two. Like, you need to commit into this guy to build a program here and lot. Absolutely. And, and I think it was a good move by the, by the Texans, because here, here's the thing, I mean, the coaches that they had the last two years, they were place orders. They weren't, they weren't guys, you know, they weren't, they weren't guys that they were looking, you know, the first, first David was interim coach, and, and the second one was, you know, our, our guy from what he lobby. Yeah, I was surprised when they hired Lovey Smith. Cause I. I, I hadn't heard his name in N f L circles for very long. Well, he, he was, he, you know, you're talking about black Santa Claus over there, you know, with the, with the great white beards. So he was amazing with that beard But, you know, I did see, I did see a lot of kind of comments about like, black coaches should stay away from Houston because obviously the last two black coaches they've hired have just. You know, kind of token placeholders and they really have no interest in developing that talent. You know, something that Mike Lombardi was saying was they last coaching cycle, before they hired levy, they really wanted Brian Flores, but Brian Flores felt that lawsuit and that kind of like muddied those waters a little bit. Yeah. They couldn't get Flores. So I mean, like, could, could you argue Actually the Texans are, are. It's pretty like, I mean, they're, they're last three coaches are, are black. You could say that. Yeah. Right. I mean, so, and, and and that and, and that's why when people, when people were talking about, oh my God, they're ra I'm like, shut the fuck up. And, and, and this is why encourage, this is why I always say, don't start playing the race card. Un until you are, until, until you're for certain that they are. Because the idea of throwing, calling somebody or even implying somebody is a racist to me. That's to me, that's terrible. And, and, and they've proven they're not. They're not, but, but can, but can you see at least, but let, let's, let's pre damico Ryan's hire having two black. Like if they had two blackhead coaches that were one and done, then you come hire a white guy, give'em a six year deal. That would look, that kind of wouldn't look great. And, and what do I always say? Until you have proof, keep your mouth. Right, right. Because yeah. And racism is a pretty, it's a pretty to, to me, to me it's, it's, it's like this do look every time your wife goes out and, or your girlfriend or whoever's listening to goes out and you're like, oh, it kind of looks weird that you're going to the club with your girls, or you're going to dancing with your girls and stuff like that. Oh, are you cheating? Oh, you know what, it just looks like you're cheating. No, you don't bring that shit up until you have freaking. Like, like, let's, let's, to me, the race card is pulled way too often to the point that when there is legitimate argument for the race card to be used, it's totally muddied the water where it's like, okay, here we go. Here's another one. I I, I also don't wanna take away. This is a great story. I mean, Tamco Ryans was drafted by the Texans. He was a phenomenal linebacker. He played there for six years, had a great career, and all he gets to come back to where he started his career as a head coach. That's a pretty cool story. Is it? Guy going back to his hometown. It's like me going on and becoming a coach for the Redskins. So that would've been awesome. Mr. Snyder, if you're listening, I'm just kidding. I know. Fuck. I will ne I asked. I asked to be traded with that man. Became the owner. You think I, you think I wanna go become his employee? Get get outta here. Actually, I think he saw on the team he's gonna be selling. Yeah. Thank God. Thank God, which I think, I think all the rest of the nfcs is thinking there might actually be a threat in the future. For those of you that were born post 1990s, the Redkins were one of the most proud organization in the N F L. Yep. I mean, it, it, it's, it, it's it. The Eagles and the Cardinals. When the Cardinals were in that division, the Eagles and the Cardinals were the, were the bottom teams. Because the Giants were Super Bowl champs. The Cowboys were Super Bowl champs and and the Redskins were Super Bowl champs. Yeah, they were. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, man, when you walk into Redskin Park, you see those bowl trophy standing there. It's unfortunately, they're all from the late eighties and early. But yeah, that's the first step for them getting back on track. Sure. Speaking of, speaking of another owner, David Tepper hires Frank Reich to come into Carolina real quick, what do you think of this hire? It's a good hire. Yeah. It's, it's, it's a, it's a good hire. I, I, I think Frank Reich just was in a really shitty situation with, and, and look, it, it was like a sinking ship that that was, you know, that was developing leaks when Andrew Locke went away and, and they look, they, they were just like Flo. Where it was probably a good fire for the good fire for the for the Colts. And it was, you know, and, and, but Frank Reich, I, I, I believe in Frank Reich and I think that's, I think he, he will bring stability. He's a Super Bowl experienced coach, and, and I think that's a very good hire for them. Donald did show some promise towards the end of the year. Yeah. And, and look. So, so, and, and all those arguments. Cause I was getting slammed a little bit on, on Instagram saying, oh my God, you were saying that the jets should keep Donald, that she keep Donald Again, it wasn't because I'm a fan of Sam Donald, it was Cause I'm like, are you sure that Zach Wilson is gonna be better than Sam Donald Plus an offensive line. Remember Ru that was my argument. I'm, I'm like, are you trying to tell me that your team is better with Zach Wilson versus with Sam Donald and and who's my boy that I was screaming for Penn? I mean, C come on. We, we know what the answer is. Yeah. We know what the answer is, no question. Yeah. We'll, we'll see if Franken finally get the quarterback thing figured out. In Carolina Shar on the coordinator's side, I think significant move. Last week, the char, the Cowboys parting waves with Kellen Moore and the Chargers almost immediately scooping him up and acquiring his services. Mike McCarthy to now call plays in Dallas, they did hire. Brian Schottenheimer, formerly of Seattle and the New York Jets that come in as kind of the offensive coordinator in me. He, he's holding the clipboard for Mike McCarthy holding the clipboard for, for, for a million bucks. Right? Not a bad life, but this is kind of a sink or swim for McCarthy. And I think. The way the Cowboys went out. You watched that divisional Wallace against the Niners. You, you think to yourself, if Dak Prescott even plays a mediocre game, cowboys have a real shot to win there. So I think just the way that season ended, there was a feeling that they really could not break the ceiling with the Dak Kellen Moore combination, I'm paying McCarthy 14 million. If Kellen's running the offense and Dan Quinn's running the defense, Mike, what the hell are you doing? I think Jerry wants to get the most out of that investment. And of course, Dan Quinn. I think the beauty of this is the cowboys somehow, again, Jerry being the salesman, he is convinced Dan Quinn to say no to whatever the three forehead coaching interviews that he had. Well, you know how that conversation, you don't how that conversation went. Right. Tell me how it went. It, it, it went, it is your, your boy Danco goes in there and says, Hey you know, Jerry you know, I'm I'm looking for a job. And, and, and Jerry's like, well, you know, Dan I, I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't leave. I were you because things aren't as stable as one might thing. And you know, the first sign of anything going on, guess who's gonna be my man? Because, you know, And and I'm telling you, I'm telling you, is there any doubt if Mike McCarthy ever retires or gets fired, then Dan Quinn doesn't get elevated. I mean, you, you gotta think Dan Quinn, like Dan Quinn's biggest fan and cheerleader was probably Mike McCarthy to get a head of coaching job. Like, cuz like get, get this guy out of my building. Right, right. Long as day, like Dan Quin is kind of leading in the wings a little bit. Right? So I think this is a interesting situation where Jerry's saying, Mike, prove your worth. And if you don. I, I've got, I've got a hell of a candidate with Mike. Mike has proven himself. What, what Jerry's saying is, is that, Mike, you better keep on, keep, keep getting on. Cause as soon as you don't, we got somebody here. It's like, you know, you got, you got the hamster on the treadmill, you just turn the speed up a little bit, right? That's it. That's it. And, and, and here's, and here's the thing. They have a good combination going with Mike McCarthy and Dan Quinn. They do. They do, you know, so, so, and, and again and again, not to treat my own horn, I used to make fun of Mike McCarthy. Right? What did I tell you? As soon as I saw him in hard knocks. Do you know, do you recall? I'm not buying it. I'm still not buying it, but, but I, but that, that, that, that, that he's got his finger on the pulse of that team. Come on. Yeah. Come on. He, he's, he's got those, he's got those boys believing now. Yeah. He's got those boys believing. That's fair. That's fair. What do you think of Kellen Moore going to the Chargers? How do you feel about that? I kind of feel bad for Kellen Moore for why he's, he's young. He gets to go to la He's got his, yeah. Yeah. He's yeah. I mean, well here's, here's the thing. I, to me, when they did that, I, I think Jerry Jones is basically saying, okay, Mike, this is your team now fully your team. And because before that, keep in mind, Mike Mcca, how often do you get a coaching staff that's in place and only the head coach gets replaced and the head coach isn't allowed to make any changes? Yeah. Right. That, that's, that's, that's rare. So, so now, so now my, so, so now Jerry's like, okay. You got, it's, it's your team. But also, don't, don't you forget I, I got, I got my buddy Dan Quinn sitting back there. So it's, yeah, I mean you know, it's, it's one of those un unspoken things where you kind of, you know, Mike McCarthy's gotta read between the tea leaves here and understand what's, what's going on. And yeah, I, I, I, I, I, I think, I actually think it's a brilliant move on Jerry's part. And I, you know, I think Callen Moore as a cowboy fan, When he was hot calling plays in a game, I mean, he was hot. He, you could see there were certain moments in games where he had just complete command of what was going on, how to attack the coverages. Other times it felt like he was just calling plays and there was no rhythm, no timing. Like it just, you know, Dak would be in a rut and he wouldn't really change his play. Calling to try and get some easy completions or get polled or think more about like, like, I didn't see enough intelligent adjustment and strategy from Keller Moore. He, he's kind of a, the, the, you know, basement Madden player, the little boy genius, you know? But I felt like when it really came down to, to strategy and how to win a game down the stretch, he wasn't, he was hit or miss. And so I, I'm not a lot of people. Oh my God, this is so crazy. Why would they, I, I wasn't a huge Kellen Moore fan. So I'm interested. Yeah. Goes, but the thing is, I, I don't know if McCarthy's an upgrade as a play caller So, so he might, he might not be. And I guess that's, that's what we'll find out here. Well, he, he, he, he did win a Super Bowl, so let's not, let's not, but he also had too much. And look who, who's his quarterback though? Aaron Rogers. But what, what, but what has Aaron Rodgers done without Mike McCarthy since, I mean, he won two mvp. Okay. I underst I understand that though. But, but it, it's, it's been shown to me very difficult for the, for the Packers to make it past the NFC Championship game. Bro, you, you, you know how, you always tell me Kush. I hate what you're doing cuz you're making me speak ill of Tom Brady. Right. I feel like you're making me have to praise Aaron Rogers. Cause I don't like, but, but you're forcing me to do it. No, no, no. Aaron Rogers to me is still the best physical quarterback of all time. But I told you I saw chinks in his armor. When, when, when? In the, in the, in the game against the 49ers two years. He had a wide open Aaron Jones for a, for first down, and he threw up for grabs Devante to Devonta Adams. So I listen, I, I gotta be a realist and, and, and I gotta tell you what I see. Yeah, man. It's so it'll be interesting how that plays out. And then I, I, you know, last thing on the coordinator front, you got Vic fio going to Miami and Brian Flore. From being an assistant coach with Pittsburgh to now the defense defensive coordinator in Minnesota, great hire, cuz obviously the defense in mini was the Achilles heel. They've got a guy now who can really go in and not only have a fingerprint on the personnel, but also just the, the, the strategy and making the most of the strengths. Of those players cause that defense man, they really, really underperformed. That was the Achilles heel of the team. Yeah. Look, look, and, and you know what I call Brian Flores now I I I I call him the black Adam Gates. So it, it's and, and maybe that's doing a disservice of Brian Flores. I'm talking about just his attitude in terms of. You know, not playing nights with others. I think that's the situation. If I were advising Brian Flores, do not ever take a head coaching job. Just, just, just keep your fucking mouth shut. I don't be a defensive coordinator. Just, I, I think that he probably, it, it would look weird to be suing the n but then, cause he was, he, he was interviewing credit coaching jobs. Like he was in, he was in the, the, the round. You also wonder though, like, like what, what chance does he really have to secure a head coaching job while he is in the middle of suing the league? It's kind of a weird situation and also from his point of view, does, is it advantageous for your lawsuit to accept the head coaching gig when you're suing the league? Like it just, it's it seems, it, it, it's an odds scenario to say the least. Yeah. It, it's, it's stupid. It's, he sh he killed, he killed his chances. Of a head coaching job, which, you know what? Probably to his benefit, cuz he's not a good head coach. I think he'll eventually, what, I think he'll eventually get back into head coaching at some point. He shouldn't, he shouldn't. He'll only get back cause he's a, he's a known commodity and he's black. I mean, well, no, he's also gotta be good at his job. You can't, you can't. I mean, he's, he's a good defensive coordinator. He's not a legal man. I would actually argue the only reason, well, one of the main reasons he was in the interview cycles is because he's blocked Cuz Team. Yeah, exactly. I agree. The box on the, on the rule, you know. No, I, I, I, I agree. I agree. I, I think he's gonna be in a lot of head coaching interviews. Simply just so, like you said, they can check that box, but he's not, to me, he's done as a head coach. He's, he's just a defensive coo. Just, just if he, if, if he didn't sue the league, do you think that, would you feel the same way? I would still feel the same way. That he's not a good head coach, but I, I would change my mind and say he will get another shot. Well, look what happened to Miami's defense when he left with basically the same personality. Yeah, but look what happened to Miami when he left. They went to the playoff. Actually, I think this is why I actually love both these hires. Cause you look at, it's almost like what Mcon McVay did when he got to the. He's like, I'm an offensive guy, Wade Phillips, you come over here, you run the defense. You're the essentially like the the assistant head coach of the team, but you're head coach of the defense. Right, right. I'm Robins. That's what Mike McDaniel and Kevin O'Connor doing. Hey, we're offensive guys. We thrive with side of the ball. We'll handle that. Vic Fangio, Brian Flores. You guys know defense. You guys take care of that side of the house. I think it's brilliant As long as there's an over cuz Mike Lombardi always. Talks ill of this kind. He calls it a, a subcontractor strategy where you're just subcontracting every Yeah. But, but, but there's gotta be an overarching strategy, a culture that everybody buys into. But I think given the expertise of Mike McDaniel and O'Connell, like, these are good, these are really good hires. Cause you get an adult in the room to run this defense the right way. I agree. I, I, I, I agree. I think, again, I'm not saying he's a bad defensive coordinator. I think, I think that's great. And, and, and to me, you know, the Minnesota Vikings are still a bright spot. You know, they have a bi look. The, the arrows pointings up for the, I actually think this move, this move does make them a little bit more legitimate. And we've seen how quickly, like we saw, like what Dan Quinn did in Dallas a couple years ago. He. B, the worst defense in the league would fortunately, the, the almost like identical personnel and made them, you know, top five. So they're Well. Okay. C, C, hold on, hold on. Identical personnel. Your two best players were drafted. Okay. Micah Park, he got there. No, no, no. Dicks, dicks. Dicks was there the year before. Was he? He was. He was, yeah. So see, he was a rookie, but he was a rookie. Right? He was a rookie. Right. Okay. So come on, come on. So, yeah, but, well, my point is a coordinator. Hand have a big impact within the course of one season. You don't if, if given the right circumstances of having your two best players not be on the team or be rookies and, and, and, and fall into it. Micah Parsons had a lot to do with their with their success. But you gotta think the Vikings are gonna go all in on defenses draft, right? Like, I mean mostly is this is, they will, and I also think that they should draft a quarterback in the third or fourth. I wouldn't be against that either. And I, by the way, I, I heard Vic fio use the Dan Quinn contract in the negotiating table with Miami. He's like, Hey, Quinn's getting like 5 million. I if, if that's what I'm gonna need to to come here. And so they're like, cool. They basically, they, they should, they should. If you're serious about winning, what difference does it make? Yeah. And fan fan's legit. One of those guys, you know. Really a head coach, but a phenomenal de coordinator. So great, great hires by both teams. Sharp. Let's get into it now. Conference championship recap quickly and then we'll get into Superbowl real quick. Sharp, what did you make of the way the conference championships played out? I think the big, the big themes, there were a couple things, right? The early game Eagles niners it. Brock Purdy got hurt. That, and then Josh Johnson, that that guy comes in, he gets hurt. The Niners had no one who could throw a pass for half the game, which is just, it just made it into a really tough situation. So that, that, that was kind of, I think derailed that game. And then you got the AFC Championship. That was a tight game back and forth and you had that really tough penalty on Bengals Pass pressure. Joseph Oai that put the chiefs infill range enabled him to kick the game winner as time expired. So kind of just, it left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, if I'm being honest. So, you know, the, I, you know, you know, I bet the two underdogs in that game, which was at the time that I bet was Kansas City and, and San Francisco, mainly because I felt that the games are such coin flips that I'd rather take the money. So it worked out for me with the chiefs because, you know, I I won that bad, but with the 49ers, that game just gotta throw away. That's like, that's literally the least painful way you could ever lose a champ. Is is when both your quarterbacks go out and you can't throw the ball. So like, it, it's, it, it is what it is, is the gods of football. Were against you. There's, there's nothing you can do. You know? Yeah. So ha having said that, so the Philly game was very uneventful. Kansas City game. And, and look, that was a, that was a game of great consequence. Cause remember, I, I told you, I said if the chiefs don't beat the beng, then it, it's, they're taking a backseat in the, a ffc to them, because that'll be four in a row. That'll be four in. And, and look, I'm not the only one. Cause they asked Chris Jones about this rivalry and you know what his answer. What rivalry we, we need to, we need to win once before it becomes a rivalry. So now, so now it's official, right? Yeah. Now it's official. And, and look, and, and they, they look, I, they won And people say they won under kind of weird circumstances, but that 15 yard penalty you've seen the chiefs move down the entire field in 16 seconds. You don't think with eight seconds left, they could have picked up another 10 yards. But you Yeah, but you'd have to, they had no time out, so you'd have to, it had, yeah, but, but they picked up, but ku, they had 16 seconds to go down the field, and I, I don't think it had all the, yeah. Actually, to me, char, the, the more egregious thing was actually the fact that the Bengals. When they had the ball in the previous possession, they with two 20 left in the game, they threw it three straight forward, didn't work the clock off. And then on top of that, they punted it right down the middle. You gotta kick it outta bounds like, cuz the only way Casey could get back in this game is if you get a return. Right. It happened. They, they got a 29 yard return from Was it Tony or Nicole Hartman? Kius Ka. Tony was Tony. Yeah. So like that was just a really dumb game management. The penalty, I think it stands out because it was the second to last play of that drive and like, obviously it put them in football range. But to me actually the, the, the play calling to not even run it once with two 20 left and a punt down the middle, like. Listen, that's just, that's poor decision making, poor strategy. The, the, the, the, the coaching staff, the offensive coaching staff of the Bengal should think they're lucky stars as that kid committed that foul because it completely overshadowed exactly what you, because you, you literally say, said what I was gonna say. So it, it's, it's like, come on, you're gonna give, you're gonna, you're gonna forget. Okay. Forget the punning down the middle. Maybe they were trying to punt on the side and they kick your mis who, who knows? We know what kind of plays you called. We know what kind of plays you called. Yeah. So, so come on, come on. That's it, it's, it was absolute horse shit what they did, and they better thank their lucky stars. And I'm of the mindset that that penalty was irrelevant because I can easily see. Easily see them completing a pass on, on, on the corner for 10 yards, 12 yards. Come on. No, it's, it's definitely, yeah, you're right. It's, it's for sure it's possible. You, like, you can't say for certain that if he doesn't commit that penalty they don't try and run a, another play and maybe get ranged. Yeah. And actually, and actually from, even from where Mahomes was, was like, let's say he got knocked outta bounds with no penalty, that still would've been a 60 yard. That's a long kick. He's made it before, but 60 is, I mean, 60. I mean, buck's got the leg. So, you know. Yeah, I think, I think Jay Gilley was saying though, before the game, that the wind and the weather was so bad that actually even in a pre-game warmups, the kickers weren't even attempting 60 yard kicks because of how poor, but they wouldn't have done it. You're talking, you're trying to tell me that combination of Andy Reed, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey Jared, McKinnon, Kius, Tony Juju, mis they're not gonna, they're not gonna get you 7, 8, 10 yards to take a Yeah. I mean, yeah. I mean, and it has to, it has to get outta bound, like Yeah. Anything could happen. I just think, yeah, it's. It was mag, it was back. You could even, you could even, and here's the thing. Even if the Eagles defended the boundaries, you can do a quick eight yard catch and, and, and, and spike. Yep. Look, look, I've been part of a lot of those. I know exactly how many seconds you need. I know exactly how many seconds you need to be able to spike the ball. Eight seconds is definitely doable for, for a 10 yard catch. So, so let's, so let's, let's, let's not, let's not forget about, I mean, stuff of the, so sometimes five seconds is enough to get six, seven yards to get outta bounds. I mean Yeah, it's, it's all, it's, but I'm talking about if you have to spike it, if you have to spike it, because what takes long is you have to hand the ball to the ref, let him set it up and, you know, usually defense meanders back and kind of runs into you, tries to do some DS stuff. So, Look, so that's not the point. The point is that the chiefs won. The Bengals had an opportunity to put the game away, and they couldn. and they couldn't, and, and it's one of those things, they threw the ball. It's not like you, you, you, you can't say, oh, well the reason why the Bengals didn't get the first sign is cause they were running the ball. No, they actually tried to get a first on to, to shut this game out. They had an opportunity with their offense to shut this game out. And they didn't, they didn't do it plain and simple. So I'm, I'm kind of happy that it turned out the way it did because. You know the, the, it's, it's, I, I kind of have been forced to root for the Chiefs cause they made me so much money over the last three years. So, Anyways so I feel like you're a Chief's fan. You know, I, I've become a pseudo Chiefs fan because it's one of those things that look, I've been defending them. I've been defending them every time people have been telling me that the chiefs are done. But also I was the one that told you when they were on their win streak last year, I said they kind of got lucky. I remember, like I, I, I called the way I see it, I called the way I see it. So that's fair. That's, that's fair man. No noonish predicted this. And look the chiefs, to your point, they did finally make it a rivalry. So is it, is it, can we say it's officially a rivalry now between these two? Yeah. Yes, absolutely. Because the look, they, they each forget what happens during the season. They both have beaten each other to make to the champ, to make it to the Super Bowl. So to me that's, to, that reminds me of the of the Raiders and the Steelers back in the seventies, the, the, the, the Cowboys in the 49ers in the nineties, you know, so, so that it kind of has that tone to it. Yeah. Yeah. No, I, I, I agree. Look, I mean, Either team making, it would've been well deserved. And looked at chiefs in three of the last four Super Bowl star. Since Patrick Muhammads has become the chief starter, they've either been in the conference championship, the Super Bowl every year. I mean, this guy, that's just impressive, man. I mean, is there a more impressive start to any quarterbacks career and not Patrick Ma? I've never seen one, because even with p Manning, the Great Pate Manning winner of five five MVPs, or four MVPs, four MVPs. Four MVPs, I think, yeah. Winner of four MVPs has his first year. He, he, he was three and 13. So now, and, and, and look, I mean, and he didn't, I mean, I think he made it to some conversations, but he, I mean, he only made it to. Three Super Bowls. So Mahomes in what his first, you know, five years has, has been to three and, and Kuro. If it wasn't for the Brady Voodoo Witch Magic, I know he would've had a couple more Frank Clark jumping offsite because, you know, you know, it's Brady's Brady's Great Brady's Greatness willed Frank Clark to jump offsite. So, you know, that's, we all know this. We all, we all we're talking about. What was that? What was that? The 20, the 20 19, 20 19. Conference, you're talking about the main Yeah, the, so So, you know, it was it, it was, you know, you know, you know, it's all, it was all Brady. So anyways if it wasn't, if it wasn't for that, this, this dude would've been, this dude would've been, and this Super Bowl I mean like, come on the championship game. Like, it, it's, it's ridiculous. It's, it's, I know, it's phenomenal to me, he's gonna become the greatest quarterback of all. He, he very well might be. He's got, obviously, I mean, I think he's gotta at least flirt with Tom Brady's Super Bowl. Not, not yet. What? No, not, not, not yet. Not yet. I, I, I hate, I mean, like, do not, do not freaking go there. Do not start comparing this poor kid to Tom Brady right now. Well, when you said, but I guess, but when you said he's, he's. He's gonna be the greatest of all time. Doesn't that have to be a factor or doesn't he have to win? I didn't say, I didn't say the great, I didn't say the greatest winner of all time. I said the, the, the, the, the greatest quarterback, which to this point, Tom Brady isn't the greatest quarterback of all time. Well, I mean, I think a lot of people will disagree with that. Well, they have a right to disagree with me, but I, I'm the one who's talking and, and, and I'm saying that he's I, I'm, I'm comparing him right now to the greatness of Aaron Rogers and Dan Marino. And you're talking about like just a pure ability to pass the ball. Quarterback, arm talent. Arm talent. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. For sure. Man. Complete package talent. Not, not just armed talent. Complete package talent. Impressive. Start and look for, for Jalen Hertz and the. This is, this is his first time kind of with the, with the bright lights in the n l Obviously Jalen Hertz playing in the s e c, he's, he's seen plenty of bright lights, very incredible campaign. He's level of Philadelphia. Here's my thing, man, like the Eagles probably had not probably, in my view, had the easiest path to Google in N F L history. I mean, sure. I'm gonna show you something right now. Now as we're talking, if you can see this. What I'm showing you right now, like this is the eagle schedule. You can see it show like, let's look at this together real quick. Just starting here with the Lion Lions week one. Tell me one impressive victory. They beat the Vikings in week two. Commanders, Jaguars, Cardinals cowboys without Dak Prescott. Steelers with Mr. Trubisky, Texans. Loss of the commanders beat the the Colts by one point and beat the Packers by a touchdown. You go 33 points and beat the Packers by just a touchdown. At home. Okay. They blew out the Titans, but the Titan Tad, they're playing with their backup quarterback cuz Malik Willis cuz Tana Hill was out. Then you beat the Giants, you beat the bears, you loose to the Cowboys in a game that you absolutely needed to win the East and lock up the one seed you loose to the Saints the following week. Granted, those two games were with Gardner Minu. But like, don't, don't say granted, that's absolutely because they lost one game game. But your defense still give up 34 points. The defense to the Cowboys JNS doesn't play no defense. Right? Yeah, yeah. But, but, but their ability to keep the ball away from the, from the cowboys is is huge. Don't, don't, you're trying to look, no, honestly, look at this and tell me what, when was like, wow. It was a statement. When, and, and then in the playoffs, you. The Giants for a third time. Okay. Who really overperform against the Vikings. And then you got the Niners who couldn't, who had their third string quarterback get hurt, four string quarterback get hurt, and then for an entire half they couldn't throw a pass. Like, tell me, look. Look what is impressive about this run? I agree. I agree with what you're saying. The mistake people make and when trying to make an argument is they go overboard with their, with, with, with their, with their, but jar. Two things, testimony can be true. Two, the Eagles can be a talented team. That had an extremely easy pathable, like, honestly, buddy, if you listen to me, I'm agreeing with you. You're just, you're just, you're like my kids. It's this new generation of you guys. You guys, you guys, as soon as you hear something I'm be, I'm gonna be 39, so mean. Listen, listen, Mr. Microwave, man. Instant gratification. Okay, look. Here what I have to say, taste it in your mouth before you spit it out. All right? I agree with you. I was telling you the mistake that people make is, is that in order to make an argument, they start pulling evidence that isn't as substantial as, as, as, as other things that they have. All you have to do is say that. They had a very easy road. They did do not, do not fufu the fact that they had their v p quarterback not playing during their two losses. That's a huge, that's a huge factor. You know what? Okay, but, but can I tell you why I say that? Because when the Cowboys lost to the Eagles without Dak Prescott. All of Eagle Nation was saying, well, we had, we had Nick Falls, we won a Super Bowl. So that's not an excuse. I don't care what Eagle Nation saying, I don't give a shit. So, you know what, so, so why, why is it not an excuse then? Because, cause it's not an excuse. It's not an excuse for, by the way, Gardner, Michigan, againsts the Cowboys. Through for 3 55 and three tds. I'm like, how much better would you have gotten that? I mean, I'm not saying Hertz is phenomenal, but like he didn't go out there and, and shit the be rush, they didn't run their offense. Part of their defense is pre predicated on their offense keeping following. But I'm just saying dude, like you can't say 3 55 and three tds. Didn't give'em a chance to win that game. My point is, you can make your statement without saying they lost to the Cowboys and they lost to the they, they lost that game cuz the defense gave up 40 points. That's why they lost the game. Okay. Their defense gave up 40 points cause they didn't have Jalen Hertz. Oh, get outta here. Yeah, absolutely. Keeping a bar. You keep, they, they, they, they, they had a defensive touchdown on that game. Plus 3 55 and three two. That's pretty damn good. No. First of all, the, the, if I recall, those touchdowns came in fairly late in the, in, in the game. At least one of them did. If memory serves, like I could be wrong. It was, it was a back, it was a back and forth game look. Their offense was completely different. And, and you can't tell me that when the team's missing their court record doesn't have an effect on them, but when the backup comes in and balls out, what, what is, he didn't ball out. He didn't, he didn't. He didn't, their their offense did not run now, the following week against the Saints. Yes. He didn't play as well. Right. I'm, but my point is, okay, look, you don't need to make that argument. The Yes. The, the, the Eagles have had a very, they've had a very easy, easy to run to the Super Bowl. Let's, let's take the playoff. getting to play the Giants who we talk about the giants. Daniel Jones had 230 passing yards or more, three times last year. Two of those times were against the Vikings. Okay, so the Vikings just happened to be. A really good matchup for the Giants. They won that game. They entered, right? Agreed. And, and then they run into a bus saw in Philly and then Right. It was never really a game with San Francisco because, because of the injuries. So like, agreed, like, like if I'm, if I'm an Eagle fan, I, I'm not pounding my chest. I'm like, I'm thankful that we're here, we're a talented team, but like you didn't. The actual miners to get it. Gosh, all, all of that is irrelevant as the fact is that you made it there. There should be 50 They're lucky stars that the 49ers lost their quarterback because a, a again, I I, I told you it was third quarter. Okay. But you know, pur is on a third string quarterback. I mean, I mean Okay. Look, look, I, I bet I, I told you the game is a 50 50 game with Brock. I, I told you that. So, and, and I only bet the 49ers cause they were, they were underdog. I was, I was making money on'em. So, look, they've had a very easy strength of schedule that that is a fact that I, to, to your point of saying they haven't played anybody, I think their Marky wins have been against the giants who are, and that's what, and that's actually what, it's funny you say that. I actually asked an eagle. That's a good buddy, man. I'm like, dude, real talk like just look at the schedule. Can you just, as an Eagle fan, you tell me what win is. Impressive. Here, show me what win was. The marquee game that like, yes, we beat and he told me. Beating the Giants three times. And I said, no further questions, your Honor. No, that's, that's really what you're gonna hang your hat on. Far beating, beating, beating the Vikings. Soundly. Soundly, yeah. And week two, but, okay. No, it was, regardless. It was, it was week two, does, doesn't, doesn't matter. The, the Vikings were the number one ranked team for the, for the longest. Which I disagreed with. Be beating. Beating the beating. The Vikings was good. Beating beating a Carson Parlet Redskins or, or commanders to the way that they beat, they beat them cars. Carson ones. Yeah. But they also lost of the commanders. The loss of the commanders. Yeah. But that was well by Taylor Heinke at home. That was without starting quarterback. Who? No, no, no, no, dude. No, no. Her who's playing in that. When they, they, so the, the two games, the Eagles Lost Without Hertz were Dallas and New Orleans. They lost to Washington. Hertz was playing in that game. Oh, that's right. That's right, that's right. Okay. Well, that was, that was their, that was their, that was their battle. I'm just saying, like, they, they beat the cult by one point. The Just Saturday, Matt Ryan led cults by one point, like there's holes and Dak Prescott. As much as I criticized him more than anybody else, he carved that. Apart. Yeah, it's, it's, I'm telling you, I really believe that secondary can be had, and I think Andy re. Especially coming from Philly. He's got the antidote to it. Who do you, you think I bet on ok. Lemme ask you something again. You, you got me defending the Eagles. Who do you think I've bet on to win the Super Bowl? Well, yeah, yeah. You're chief's guy. Okay, so, so, so you're making it sound, that's thing. The Eagles are favored. The eagles are favored to it, which I think is ridiculous. Which I, which I think is ridiculous. I, I, I bet, I bet the Eagles, I bet the Chiefs to win. I'm betting here, here's my bets. I'm betting Travis Kelsey having over six, over six and a half receptions. I'm betting Travis Kelsey having more than one carry. He's gonna have at least one carry Okay? That's one of those little prop bets. But you, I could see. So so look and, and, and reason is that the Chiefs have been there, done that. They've won a Super Bowl, they've lost the Super Bowl, and, and they're not, they're not at the least bit shocked by the bright lights. This is a new experience for the majority of the Eagles players. About, that's what we said about the Eagles when they were playing the Patriots and they surprised everybody, man. So Philly, you know who like, like Philly. Philly surprised us before. So, yeah. Yeah. But, but I mean, look, really all you look, all you had to do is to be, Tom Brady is, is not, not give him the number one defense of all time, every time he played in the Super Bowl. Well, that was one crazy game. Yeah. But Yeah. But they didn't punt that game. They, you know, the, the Patriots didn't punt once the entire game. The Patriots. Yeah. They scored like every. But it wasn't a terminal. So it goes, it goes to show you what happens when Tom Brady didn't have a number one defense. Oh, come on. Yeah, he didn't All right. I'm not even gonna respond to that, but, okay. So, so putting, I just really wanted to call out, I think, how easy of a path he had here, but. I'm not saying it like bitter cowboy fan, the Eagle will still have an phenomenally talented team. I think Howie Roseman rightfully won general Manager of the year the way he's been aggressive through the draft, through free agency. I mean, look, look at all the William and Dylan they had done bringing in guys like AJ Brown and Dominic and Sue, all these different Playmakers Darius Slay James Bradbury, and they still have two first round picks. I mean, incredible job. Incredible job. They deserve. In every way possible. And like, you know, like I'm no, no secret. I'm a big fan of Jalen Hertz. I love his game. I've always loved his game from the day d he came into the league, I've been rooting for him. Unfortunately, he is been with the, with the, with the feather on his helmet. But I still love the kid. So like, no, no disrespect there. They're a great team who happen to have a very easy road to get here that could now impact them, right? Cuz they've never really. Truly been punched in the mouth against the great team under the bright lights. What to you char, are the keys to victory in this game? For who? Let's, let's go. We've talked about kind of k I think we've talked about KC and, and their offense having, you know, being able to potentially expose that Philadelphia secondary. Let's start with, I guess, the trenches, right? Like, how much has we've seen in the past, char, the last time the chiefs made it to a Super Bowl. The inability to protect Mahomes really, really bit them in the butt. Obviously they had a, a couple guys missing, a couple tackles missing in that game. Different situation here. You know, how do you see that playing out and, and Mahomes having the time with that really talented Philly front. I, I think, I think the quick passing games. Of, of the Chief Chiefs is, is, is going to kind of offset, you know, trying to protect Patrick Mahomes. I, I think they're doing, they're gonna do a good enough job for him to be able to do his thing. The key to victory for the Chiefs is, is they need to jump ahead and force Philadelphia to have to throw the ball. If, if, if, if, look, I, I just, I just bet the Chiefs, if at any point the chiefs jump head by 14 or more points, then, then I'm feeling pretty comfortable because that's when Philly's gonna feel the need to want to come back. If the Eagles are constantly pounding against the Chiefs with that, with that offensive line, then I think Eagles have a chance to win. Well, and, and these are teams with, with seemingly kind of opposed. Philosophies. You've got the Eagles who are very committed to the run, whether it be Miles, Sanders, Boston, Scott, and even Jaylen Hertz phenomenal with as a ball carrier. Andy Reeds a guy who has been criticized for not running the ball enough. You know, they do have, I obviously Isaiah Pacheco has been phenomenal for them. They got Jerk McKinnon. I think they just activat. Client Edwards Elaire off of ir Nicole Harbin did go on IR for them, so that could be, that's obviously an important thing. Caius Tony and Judy Smith Schuster also nursing injuries. So, and then Mahomes with, with that hamstring excuse me, the high ankle sprain. The ankle. Yeah. Which, which I mean. You know, I almost feel like it's one of those like LeBron things where he's, you know, he's on crutches after the game, even though he was playing. But like, like where was the high ankle sprain? You know what I mean? Like, like he looked fine out there. It's almost No, he did. He did. You could, you could tell. You could tell. And, and, and remember I told you that almost it, it was almost might be a blessing if he just doesn't even run, which I think he had one run, but. Yeah, it's, yeah. That last play to get in Pu range. Yeah. So here's, here's the thing though. It all, it takes, all it takes is one guy to fall in the back of his ankles one time, and that, and that's my biggest thing gone. Sure. If Mahomes goes out in this game and a, and, and the Eagles beat what was it? Henny, God, I mean, can, can we put an asterisk in this in front of us? We roll. No. Why? Tell me why. Because, because I, I love to see you. And qui. Yes. Hatred for the Cowboys is far greater than for the Eagles. Oh man, I thought, I thought because of our friendship, you got a soft spot now. Ah, no, no. I, and, and, and honestly, maybe part of me is rooting for the Chiefs to win because, you know, I, the Redskins with three and, and Cowboys have what? One, so I, I and, and and what Giants have three Right? Or Giants have four. You mean? Well, the what you mean the won what? Super Bowls. That was at five, my friend. No, I'm not talking about the Cowboys. I'm talking about the Giants and I'm talking about the Eagles. Oh, right, right. Well, the Eagles have, Eagles only have one, so. Right, right. You're right. Like I told you, the Eagles are the bottom team. Dynastically speaking. They historically, yeah. So they're, they're catching up a little bit here. But look, I'm a fan of both teams because I, I like watching good football. You, you, you know. You know, I love me, a big mobile quarterback that's strong, like, like Cam Newton and, and Jalen Hiz is a big boy. Like people don't realize how big he is, and we both are a fan of his. But I've, I look I think the bright lights might be too big. And, and too bright for the moment. Might be too big for the Eagles. You, you gotta go with the experience of the Chiefs. They've been there, they've done that. Travis Kelsey and Patrick Holmes, they've been there. And you re. Everything, everything points to the Chiefs and the fact that they've had such an easy schedule. It does, man. I just, I think of the Eagles and their discipline in running the ball. You know, we talk about the chief's offense. Dallas Gotter came back to the playoff game against the Giants, had a great game, didn't have to do much against Niners. I, I take AJ Brown, Devonte Smith, Dallas Goddard. That to me is actually a more lethal. Tandem than anything Mahomes has to work with. I know Carl phenomenal. I know Caius, Tony's been decent in, in spurts, Juju Smith juice's, solid player. But like the, the past catching talent in Philly is ridiculous. And look, I pay, the running backs are probably fairly, I, I would give maybe an edge to KC in the running back department. But in the trenches, oline D Line, Philadelphia wins that easily, right? So what you're really banking on, char is Mahomes is the x. that's what you're banking on essentially, right? Well, let's, let's look at this. Who are the teams that the chiefs have trouble with? The, the chiefs have trouble with teams that have really good physical, strong safeties, right? Sure. All, all, all of the charges, the, the bills with Jordan Toyer and and God, I forget the, the, the other guy and their safeties. Question is, can the combination of Gardner Johnson and Maddox, who, who's their slot quarterback, who's by the way, probably the best slot quarterback in in, in, in the game? Yes. Can. If they frustrate Travis Kelsey. That's the key. That's the key to, to stopping to stopping the chiefs. Oh, you've seen it. That's the key to stopping the chiefs. So, yeah. You know, I, I, I look at, I look at it that way. So and, and that's why I think if, if the chiefs jump ahead by two touchdowns and kind of take the eagles out of the game, I, I think that's the key, you know, to winning this game. It is the key. And, and how big of a deal is this for Andy Reid now going. Back to the Super Bowl against Philly, the Team D coach for so long. Like how, how much does that storyline, you think, play into the, the, the game narrative? It's, I don't think it's being talked about enough, because people have kinda forgotten that. And Reed was a longtime coach with the, with the Eagles. And, and he's the last, he's the last coach that took the Eagles to the to the Super Bowl? No, it was Doug. Doug Peterson. I'm talking about before their Super Bowl win. Before their Super Bowl win. Right, right, right. Yeah. Okay. So he, he was the last coach to take him to the Super Bowl with with Donovan McNabb and and, and, and those guys. And so people, people forget people, people forget that, you know, he had Leshaun McCoy, he had Donovan McNabb, he had, he had, he had a great team. But but again, this, this goes to show me that the, the coach can only hit a ceiling if he's got the right quarterback at. And we've seen it with Bill Belichick. We've seen it, you know, we've seen it with Andy Reid now in the inverse fashion that, that look, he's, he's been, he rightfully, he should have been in the AFC Championship room for the last five years. No, man. I mean, he's, and he's just had a, a, a, a record of excellence man, everywhere he's been. It's phenomenal. I mean, they, they ask Mahomes, he lost Tyreek Hill. How are you able to replicate the offer of success and get back here? And you know what he said? You just said Annie Reid Yeah. You're like, I just, I just do what he tells me to do. and it kinda worked out. Isn't wonderful. What, how much conference that, that a player has on. Oh oh, that's phenomenals. Absolutely phenomenal. It's incredible. Speaking of storylines, jar. You know, the first time two brothers are going off going super as players. We know about a decade ago it was the Harbaugh Brothers, Jim and John coaching against each other. That was a cool storyline. Now you've got Travis Kelsey for the Chiefs, Jason Kel for the Eagles going against each other as brothers. The only, the only thing, they both play offense, so they're not gonna be on the field at the same time, but still in an interesting storyline, nevertheless. Oh, it's fantastic. And they're, and they're both coming off all pro years and, and they're both like, you know, highly graded, highly touted players. And, and they're both, you know, by the way, if you listen to their podcasts, it's phenomenal. So and, and do you know why Travis Kelsey picked the number 87 to. No, I don't. That's the year that Jason Kelsey was born. So he, Oh, that's cool man. He, this is, this is how much the, you know, Ja, Jason being the the older brother and, and do you remember when they won the last Super Bowl in his outfit and his speech? It was just, yeah, he was, he was in the little jest outfit. Yeah, he was. He was. It was, it was, it was awesome to see. So it's, it's, it's wonderful, you know, as, as a dad, it's wonderful to see something like that. And, and they both are gonna be able to, and you know that they're gonna be rooting. Each other while they're, while they're on, on the field, you know? So it, it's hard man. It's hard. Like we've seen, we've seen you know, back in the day, you know, when the Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli would play against each other. I think Peyton beat him the two times. They did play against each other. And both times actually I think Peyton declined to speak to the media cuz he didn't, he didn't want to even show like happiness. He didn't like that he, that he, you know what I mean? Yeah. It's younger brother. Yeah. It's. Funny enough, there's a petition going on online. Shar, I think 150,000 people have signed it for Donna, Kelsey, Travis, Jason's mom, to, to do the coin flip, obviously. That would be cool. That would be cool. I don't think it's gonna happen. But but very cool. I think her comments on it were listened. There's far too many n NFL legends out there that are more worthy than me to do something like that. That's nice of her to say. And I think they said, listen, you're, you're underestimating moms here, but But yeah, but, but you know what I I, I, I, I appreciate that. I, I appreciate that from her. But, but yeah. And both, you're right, both you guys coming off all pro years and I mean, I mean, you've had, you've asked son since play football shark. I, I guess if you're putting yourself in those shoes as a parent, you've got two boys, you're football. What, what are you kind of thinking? If they're playing each other right? Like do you, is it is. Is it impossible to say to Tru? Maybe you say it, but like, is it impossible to truly in your heart be down the middle, or do you think you're always gonna be leaning one way or the like? No, you're, you're always you. I am, I, I don't understand how people say, oh, this is my favorite child. It's, it's impossible for me. I, I, I, it doesn't, I, I can't even imagine. Saying to me, there is absolutely zero difference in my children. I, it's, it's unequivocal. So, and, and, and you can't even say, oh, well, okay. You know, one of'em is won a Super Bowl, the other hasn't. Both Jason and Travis have won Super Bowls. So now if I, if I were the, if I were the, you know, the, the, the Mr. Kelsey, the dad, I would, I would want. Jason to win because he's closer to the end of his career. That's, and the odds of the odds of Travis making it to the Super Bowl game are far higher than than Jason. but it's, yes, but the, the, and like it's one of those things you gotta think, you know, maybe mom and dad say, okay, like, you know, I'll take the Winter locker room after the game. You go to the loser locker room so we can, you know, one of us can, everyone can console, you know? How does that work? Right, does, does, does, does the loser eventually celebrate? Like, it's just, it's all, it's all, I remember that's what kind of what happened with the Harbaughs. I, I think dad, dad went to be with the winner with, with John, and then mom went with Jim. You know, it's interesting things, but the, I mean, the fa it's a win for the family, right? Because, you know, another ring is gonna enter the fold of the Kelsey family. It's just another, and, and, and here's the thing. We all know Travis Kelsey is, is locked into the, to the Hall of Fame, right? Yes. Jason Kelsey is, is a, Jason. Kelsey is a probable, but Jason Kelsey gets the second Super Bowl. He's a, he's a first, first ballot. Travis is already gonna be the first. Yeah. Yeah, agreed. Agreed. He's, he agreed, and, and, and Travis is, is like five, six years younger than, than, than Jason. So it, it, Travis is already locked and loaded as, as as a first ballot. So if, if I'm the Kelsey parents kind of secretly rooting for Philly because you, okay. If you had to bet, you know, for a fact that, that Travis Kel and Patrick Mahomes are gonna win at least one more Super Bowl after. Right. The odds are the odds. Yeah. We're gonna, at least we're gonna have a chance to win. As long as you got Mahomes, man, you're gonna be in it every year. Every year. So yeah man, this is this is incredible stuff, man. This is incredible stuff. It's gonna be a phenomenal, relentless play out. One actually funny thing before we wrap up, I love your take on Micah Parson's got some heat for telling Lane Johnson to go win a Super Bowl for the N F C East. Micah Parsons in the past has also come out and e even in, I think in the Niner game, he said he tweeted like laying Johnson and playing through this injury. So amazing. Like, I don't think you understand like what he's doing, the physical strength it takes to play like this with this kind of injury that he's had guess also and, and, and against Bosa. So he was so, so he got a ton of heat. Why or heaping? Because he's saying he's the Well, you're, he's on the Eagles, you're the So what, say that. People need to shut the fuck up. Are you kidding me? What's wrong with Micah part? He's like, I've always looked up to Lane Johnson. What's wrong with Michael? He, he's being, he's being the ultimate sportsman. Yeah. He's rooting for his division. He's rooting for a guy that he goes against. This shows you how much respect he has for Lane Johnson. On one hand we talk about, oh, people have no respect for the game. This guy is shown the ultimate respect for the. And people are gonna, you know what? Fuck F people, people need to shut the F up. Well, unfortunately, Jesus Christ, in this case, it's cowboy fans like, okay, look, cowboy needs to shut the F up. I agree. Like I think you have to compartment, compartmentalize things like I personally, as a Cowboy fan, do not want the Eagles to win. But can I understand how Micah Parsons as somebody who plays against Lane Johnson, who's looked up to him, can feel this way? Absolutely. The respect what he's Buddy. Batman's shoes, right? One. One of the greatest moments of my career was when I lined up against my childhood hero, Kevin Green. Yeah. Rest in peace. And, and, and, and I said to him, Mr. Green, before the snap of the ball, I said, Mr. Green, you're my hero, Mr. Green. I mean, like, like I called him Mr. Green. Yeah. Cause it was the ultimate show of respect as, as I'm going against him. So, come on, Michael Parsons doing things the right way. And you're gonna, you're gonna blame the guy for saying that people need to shut the F up, fucking get a. A life cowboy nation, Jesus Christ. I disagree with Micah, but I a hundred percent respect where he is coming from. And, and I think, yeah, I love the sportsmanship. It's beautiful. And he has a, he has the right to his opinion, and I don't think the Cowboys have zero chance of winning the Super Bowl. Right. right. Last I check. So would it be better to say the Cowboys are part of the greatest division in the history of the game? I mean, y. Sure. I, I, that's one way to look at it. I don't, you will have, you'll have the only division that every single team is multiple Super Bowl champions. If the, if the Eagles win. That's a fair point. That's a fair. So, so you're trying to tell, so, so listen, you're not, you're not gonna sway me here. I You're right. But think about it. Cowboys have five. Giants have four. Redskins have three. And if eagles, when that's two, you're talking about 13. 13 Super Bowl Championships out of out of harmony has, have they run 50 53? Yeah. Or whatever it was. 55. Come on. Come on, dude. Yeah, that's, that, that's almost a, that's a quarter of the, the championships in one. Right. And it should, and it should be one eighth, so that's twice as many. C come on, cowboy. It makes me, I'm not, no, no, I'm not rooting for Philly, but that if, if they happen to win that, that would be, it's a sign of pride. You're like, the Cowboys have won five championships and it's, it's one of those things where I compare when, when you talk about the greatness of Larry Bird and. And Magic Johnson. It's like, how many more championships would've Larry Bird won if magic didn't exist? And how many more championships would've magic Johnson won if Larry Bird didn't exist? So it, it, look, they, they have eight championships within them in, in, in, in 10 years, in, in 11 years. So, yeah, you can say the same thing. You can say if the Eagles weren't around and the Redkins, and like, if you were part of the, if we were part of the AFC South, oh my God, we would've won every year. Right, right, right. Well, yeah. The way I look at it too is, I like he's played against a guy, so like he has the right to say what he wants to say, So in any case, what is sport? You know what, Michael Parsons has gone up in my book several notches for saying both those com comments. This is a, he needs to be applauded, not not taking heat. Yeah. And of course the Eagles fans were like, okay, we hate the Cowboys, but Micah's cool. Exactly. But in any case, man, yeah, I I think it's a good show. Sportsmanship. Micah I don't see eye to eye with you, but I guess we'll have to see how it plays out. Char what are you doing for the game, man? Are you chilling? You watching? I'm, I'm going to a very nice, I'm going to a very nice party. And you know, and and, and, and enjoy it. I'm gonna be rooting for the chiefs. I'm gonna be rooting for Travis Kel to have one Carrie and seven receptions minimum, and a touchdown and two touchdowns. Sorry. All right. Well listen, we'll be back next week to talk all things Super Bowl, Shar, enjoy the game. Take, take a picture of the spread too, just for, for, for all of us at home. Oh, you better believe. I'll, I'll, I'll do it for you buddy. No worries. Alright man. We'll talk next week. Enjoy the game. Take care. Enjoy it. Bye. Yeah. Bye-bye.
