We are back on the axis of football. Kuro Savvi alongside Char Pish To recap all things Super Bowl 57. In the end, it was the Kansas City Chiefs prevailing 38 to 35 over the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hertz, a phenomenally valiant effort in the loss, but nevertheless, it is the chief. Off the back of a 24 11 run, get that victory char after falling behind 24 to 14. We'll get into more of the detailed elements of this one, but just rapid reaction. Char, what were your thoughts on this Super Bowl? I, I was shocked. I mean, like I, I, I picked the Kansas City Chiefs to. I bet them to win, but plain mainly because they were the underdog and I was getting positive money. So I thought I, you know, this is how unsure I was on who's gonna win. And I had thought that if the game got close if the game was close that Philly would win just because of their nature of their offense. There's such a heavy hitting running team that they might just make the chief defense punch drunk. I thought the road for the chiefs to win was to jump ahead by like maybe. Two touchdowns and forced the eagles into, into throwing. But you know, the, the result, the result was correct, but the way it happened, I was shocked with, yeah, I mean, shocked is a little bit. An extreme, not shocked, but you know what, these are two great, two great teams right. And, and yeah. Look, I mean, to your point, it was actually the chief, the, the Eagles that took the early lead, right? They were up 24, 14 going and a half. They had all the momentum. The chief scored in their first possession and got a defensive touchdown fumbled recovery by Nick Bolton. That tied the game at 14, but then it was the Eagles scoring the final 10 points of the second half, excuse me, of the first. to go up 24 14. The chief's defense really had no answer for the Eagles in the first half. And really this was a truly a tale of two halves, right? Because some crazy stats that that, that I was kind of looking at the end of the game. Number one, the chief scored on every single second half possession, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown field goal, okay? Secondarily actually on that field goal. That was more, they actually they forego a touchdown because they wanted to milk more clock, actually, if you saw a jerk, McKinnon could have scored. But the idea was to, to leave Philly with as little time as possible, again, with the way their offense was playing. Made perfect sense. So they could have scored a touchdown on every drive theoretically if they weren't trying to work the clock there. That's one. Number two, we talked about this vaunted Philadelphia front, their past Russian, rightfully so, zero sacks on Mahomes and, and Mahomes. By the way, Shar, he reaggravated that ankle injury late in the first half. There were some questions as to would he plan the second half and if. To what level of effectiveness. And you know, he, he, he was solid, he rushed for 44 yards, including a big scramble on that final go ahead game-winning drive. But surprising to me that the chiefs were able to turn it around. And again, 24 to 11 outscore the Eagles in the second half. I mean, I look at that and I say doesn't, isn't that indicative of the true coaching advantage between Andy Reid and Nicks? Yeah, absolutely. A, anytime you see a, anytime you see a team make adjustments in the second half and, and outperform the other team. It has to do with coaches making the adjustments, making the correct adjustments and adjustments that their players can handle. So it's beyond just making adjustments, it's, you gotta be able to make adjustments that takes advantage of your strengths and also covers up your weaknesses. So they made the correct adjustments and they, and they executed. So absolutely. I would also imagine that the extended half. Was helpful for Kansas City. Absolutely. Making some of those adjustments right. usually, I think it's about 13 minutes. This is like 29 minutes. So that'll be, yeah, the, the more, and, and here's the thing. The more time you give them to do that. And then I was telling my friends, I was watching the game with, I said, Patrick Holmes is gonna go in he's, he's gonna, he's gonna take his shoe off. They're gonna ice the crap out of his, like they're gonna deep feast his, his ankle, then they're gonna, then they're gonna tape it. And then they're gonna heat it up and then put the, you know, basically put it in a boot, put it in a cast. So, well, I, my, my, my, my doctor buddy told me though, also, we'll probably give him a Toradol. To ease the tank. Yeah, absolutely. This is, this is, this is when you, this is when you play, this is when you play with with, with with torn ligaments and, and you know, cause this is the kinda ultimate of, of games. So Yeah. Yeah. I mean, absolutely. If, yeah. I mean, you've got a whole off-season to heal up in theory. Right? And so he wasn't get that. I was actually, dude, I, I mean we talked about this. I almost ingest, I said, Because of the way that the Eagles got here. I was frustrated by it. Right. Getting so lucky against the giants of the Yeah. And I said, if Mahomes goes out and you're like, Nope, it doesn't matter. I'm like, dude, and he was, I really thought the way that he got up gimpy from that injury, that there was a good chance he wasn't gonna play in the second half. And I had gotten into this frenzy of like, are you kidding me? This is gonna be the most cupcake run to a Super Bowl in history with the Eagles schedule and then how the playoffs unfolded. I mean, unbelievable, right? But thankfully it didn't play out that way. Mahomes came back and the rest is history. But that, I don't know, man, like. I guess we can really quickly go on this hypothetical path of like, if that had stood up, Mahomes didn't play and the Eagles won, in reality, would, would, would that take away a little bit from the story of their Super Bowl championship? If the Eagles had won that game for that reason? It would. It would absolutely take aways. Some from it all, but, but unfortunately it would've been forgotten in about 10, 15 years. I know. And you know that's but abs and would've completed the narrative that, that you correctly displayed for me because I hadn't nev I hadn't even thought about it. But then when I, when I looked at it and, and after our, you know, the podcast last time we, we spoke, I really thought about it. So, so what, what's different, what's different from the Eagles getting here than, than other teams is like they didn't have any, Serious wins, but they didn't have any bad losses, which is really, that's, that's what made the difference for them, you know? So fair. But then to, to, to go through the San Francisco 49ers losing their quarterback and then Patrick Mahomes going down. Yeah, that would've been. That, that would've been something else. And, and as it is, you know, you hear some Philly fans saying that this is an as streak cause of a possible bad call at the end of the game. No, no, no, no, no. We, you know, we'll, we'll talk, well, yeah. We'll, you and I haven't spoken about this, so I'm interested to get your, your point of view, but the, here's the last thing I'll say on just the adjustments. You know what I, I noticed a couple of plays the two touchdowns that, that, that Kansas City. In the second half. One was the Cirius Tony, the other one was the Sky Moore, the rookie to take the lead. Beautiful play design. If you notice both those plays, the guy, I mean, Andy Reid schemed them wide open. I mean, again, I saw those plays and I'm like, those were both on third down as well. I mean, money down. and Andy Reid just comes up with a beautiful scheme to get them, and they both look similar in that, like they, they motioned in and then quickly cut out at the beginning of the snap and they were just wide open. I don't know what Andy Reid saw, but whatever it was, it worked twice in, in the red zone on third down to score. So I just thought that was a, a tip at the cap to Andy Reid's play, design and ability to. Yeah, no, ab absolutely. So you know, you give Andrew Reid, you know, an opportunity to do something like this, and then he's gonna take advantage of it, and, and he's got the quarterback that's, you know, the, the, that's basically an extension on of himself on the on the field. So this is the, look, this is the beginning of a dynasty. And, and we had said that, you know, if if the Chiefs would've lost two the Bengals, it would've been the beginning of, honestly, for them. But it's, it goes to show you how one play here, one play there just changes the absolute outcome of for many, many years to come. Yeah. And, and I mean, look very similar with the Patriots. They, when they beat us with the Raiders and, and it was, you know, that Tuck rule that that enabled them to go win the Super Bowl. You know, small, small things like this really have had effects on on. It's huge, man. And, and look, I, I would say the other things that surprised me are, again, Eagles getting no sacks. And it was actually the chiefs who out rushed the Eagles 1 58 to one 15. Right? The Eagles did out carry them. I mean, Jalen Hertz was the leading ball carrier with 15 carries. But the Eagle's 32 rush attempts to the chief. 26 rush attempts. But they outrushed him on, on, on, on less attempts. And it was really, I, Isaiah Pacheco, man, I mean, that guy ran angry. Jerry McKinnon had a couple big runs, but to me it was really Isaiah Pacheco in the second half coming alive. And again, Andy Reid, the criticism we, we give him, and he's gotten throughout his career is, doesn't know when to run the ball. Passes, passes, passes. And in this game with Mahomes on a. I don't wanna say a bum ankle, but a obviously an injured ankle. He turned to the running game to help slow the pace down, control the clock, keep Phil his offense off the field, and I thought Pacheco was sensational in the second half. No, Pacheco was great. And and, and he, the other thing is the play design with those quick hitting passes, remember how, I remember how I told you that, that the ankle could force the chiefs into like not taking deep shots down the field. It is yeah, yeah. Could all, like, it basically could be a blessing in disguise because it'll force Mahomes into like, you know, taking his. Eight 10 yard, you know, dunk, you know, dins and dunks. So so he, you know, he channeled his inner Tom Brady and he completed a lot of passes, you know, less than less than 10 yards. And and, you know, that was, that was the key for them. So he really, there was no chance for him to get hit. And and honestly that's, that's, that was the I, I believe that was the biggest. It was a big factor. Mahomes, you look at his stats, you say, okay, 21 to twenty seven, a hundred eighty two yards, three tds. Not, not, you know, not particularly eye popping day at the office from a statistical standpoint. But really to me, I look at that and I say, well, number one, The Chiefs had a big runback for a touchdown by Nick Bolton that really got that bank, got them back in a 36 yard runback by him. It was a crucial play, by the way, third and one and Jalen Hertz fumbles it on the qb. Sneak on the QB keeper and chiefs pick it up to tie at 14. 14. And then char and the second half, Caius Tony having the longest punt return in Super Bowl history. Getting the chiefs all the way down to the five yard line. So phenomenal play by him, I think. I believe it was a 70 yard pump return by by him. So essentially the chiefs get 14 points and move the ball five yards on offense. So obviously as much as we love to talk about Andy Reid and Mahomes. This was a three phases game for the chiefs. The defense kind of bend but didn't break. They got a score and then that, that Carys Tony, man, that return, was that not worth the whatever, the fourth, fifth round put, they gave up for him to the giants to make that promise. Absolutely. Yeah. Phenomenally clutch. So what, what you're trying to tell me is that football is, is more than just offense. You, you mean football? There's a three phases to football. Man, I mean, I mean, I, I know I'm gonna piss off a lot of Madden players, but like this, this is incredible. This is, this is unreal. So, so you mean you, you, you can punt. and hope that your defense makes a big play, or, or, or you can't try to depend on special teams to gain you field position. That is, you know, that is just so weird and, and, and so wacky. Cause I, I, I, I think you're committing blasphemy right now. Oh man. Yeah. These these, these basement coordinators are gonna, are gonna get mad, but no, seriously, I mean, and that's the thing we talked about the Eagles. Kick coverage was actually the worst in the league this year. So you thought could that show up? And it did against a very talented, explosive player in Kius, Tony. So yeah, I mean, big time, big time plays by KC and look, I tip my Catholic, Jalen Hertz. I mean, he played, you take that fumble, run back for a touchdown out. I mean, he played a darn. Perfect game, 304 yards in a touchdown through the air, another 70 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. I mean, the guy accounted for four touchdowns for his team. You know, didn't make any really critical mistakes other than that fumble, which really was one. But I mean, God, I, some of the throws, he is making sure, I mean, that, that third and 14th row of Dallas gotter across the, the sideline, I mean, unbelievable ball placement. He was, he was cooking man. I mean he was playing amazing. I thought to me, I know they usually give the v p or always, pretty much, I think, except one time in the seventies, right? For the Cowboys. Some guy won. It was the only guy to win it in a loss. This, to me, would be a game where I would say, man, this is really one where, where I could justify the losing team player getting an mvp. Cuz, just cause of, of how well Hertz played in. Oh, absolutely. If, if I, I told my friend this, I, I, he goes, well, it's obvious Patrick Mahomes is the mvp. I said, well, more than likely he is. But this would be one of those games that the, if you know, if Patrick Mahomes didn't have three touchdowns, if Patrick, like, let's say if some of those touchdowns were ran in, And, and let's say he just had a 280 yard game and, and so on and so forth. This, this would definitely substantiate of giving the most valuable player because here's the thing, the most M v MVP award isn't for the isn't for the most valuable player on a winning team. Now it usually happens that way, but if you have a player that, that in a close game that that that balls out like that, you absolutely could give it. I, I agree. And look, I mean, and, and, and you talk about his ability to get it done on the ground and the ball distribution shore. I mean, we talked about Devonte Smith, a j, brown, Dallas Godard, that, that trio of past catchers combining for 19 receptions, 256 yards. I mean, he got the ball to his playmakers. He made some incredible throws. He was sensational. And look on a day where, Kenneth gain. Well, seven carries 21 yards, miles Sanders, seven carries 16 yards. Boston Scott, three carries eight yards. I mean, he was, the air and ground attack, he was the entire offense for his team. They simply, they, they, they couldn't and created the chiefs, their interior defense. They could not run it. With their, with their running backs. It was quarterback scrambles and design runs. That was all they had in the running game. And it, and it was good enough to, to potentially win the game. And the chiefs who, again, we don't characterize, they're the ones with the balanced attack. They're the ones, you know, Pacheco 15 for 76, right? Mahomes himself. Big time scramble. I mean, as good as Herz was on the ground, that 25 yard scramble shark on the game-winning drive, man, I mean, gritty, isn't it? No, I, I've absolutely, it absolutely was. And you know, you, you look, you look at the box score, and, and this is one of the reasons why I always say that Chris Jones is so undervalued. He now the box score might not show the effect that he had, but he takes so much, he takes so much of the attention of the offensive line where you can't really go off to the second level. So if, if you are, if, if you have to double team him and try to go to the next level. And he holds you up, or he forces you to keep in that double team for like a split second longer. And that's where the guys like Nick Bolton will end up having, like, I think what Nick Bolton had, like eight or nine tackles that's, that's when those linebackers start making tackles for a two yard game, three yard game versus like a, you know, a 12 yard game or, or a 14 yard game. So he's just such an unsung hero and he's to, to me, he's been the. Defensive players throughout the season and, and and, and, and post-season. He, yeah, I mean he's one of those guys Char just cuz he is not getting sacks, it doesn't mean he's not a major disruptor and that certainly was the case. And yeah, look at you man. Rattle off. Nick Bolton did finish with nine total tackles. So is that what it was? Okay. Right, right here guys. Who else, who else is calling out? Nick Bolton's total tackles man. That, well, I, no, I thought, I thought I said eight or nine, so it's not like No, I was, I just, it just seemed like he was around the ball all the time. So when, when you have a linebacker like that be able to get around the ball yeah. You know unmolested as, as, as we call it with the offensive line, you know you know, that's one of the, that's one of the worst critiques that an old line coach should give to you. That linebacker got to the ball. Unmolested. So Man, man. Yeah. Hey, hey. What, what? Whatever verbiage, whatever verbiage works to motivate the guys, right? But but look, man, no, this was, I mean, it was a great, great game. And let's, let's, let's talk about the part of the game that has people's panties and a twist for, for lack of a better term here, and that would be a really critical third down for Kansas City, where they drew a holding penalty, right? They drew a holding penalty essentially on a pass to Ju Smith, Schuster, I believe it was third and eight. There was just under two minutes. In the game. Philadelphia had had one time out left, I believe. And so, but a first down there would've essentially allowed, enabled Kansas City to run most of the clock down and kick a field goal. And so Patrick Mahomes throws an incomplete pass on like a bit of a wheel router or a whip route turned into a go. Refs threw a flag, and initially I didn't, I didn't see it. And on the replay, James, Brad. an acquisition that the Eagles got from the Giants Great acquisition they got in, in the, in the off season, absolutely grabs Juju's jersey coming out of the break. And then he grabbed them again, a little bit of a lesser grab at the top of the route. And so to me it's, it's, you see it as a clear pull and yank of the jersey, the jerseys, I mean, you said the jersey's getting stretched out. Right. He knew he was beat and he pulled that jersey to close the gap between him and ju. and the part that bothered Micha is that everybody's getting mad about the wrong things, right? He had Greg Olson on the commentary talking about the, the grab at the top of the route, and I'm like, that's not why they threw the flag. The ref clearly said before the ball was thrown, holding. Other people are complaining. The ball was uncatchable, so it shouldn't matter. I want you idiot. That's past interference. The call was holding, right? You can't promote somebody and because the ball's uncatchable, there's no flag. Right? Right. Like and the, well the reason why it was uncatchable was cuz he got held up on the top of the route. Right? So like, so it's like not only are people getting mad because they don't even understand the rules of football, they were not even looking at the correct part of the play and getting mad. The call was the ref said before the ball was thrown. You can see it at the beginning of the route as he's coming out of the break inside to kick it outside. That's when Bradbury grabs the jersey. It's holding, it's unfor. And people say, well, that call determine the outcome of the game. You know, you know, what would determine the outcome of the game? If they, if, if Bradbury pulls on him? It doesn't enable juju to get the separation he would've gotten. They don't get the first down the kick and field goal, and then Philadelphia went all that time goes and wins the game. That would've also determined the outcome of the game, right? But fans are so short, are so shortsighted, they can't understand that a no call has just as much impact on the outcome of the game as a call. In that situation, you've gotta call it, he pulled it. I like, I don't see what there's to argue about here. The, the fans just like to whine and cry because this is our culture. We need to whine and cry and if something doesn't go your way, you need to freaking whine and complain. Let me tell you exactly what happened. Well, I, I, let me, let me tell you what I guess happened. Okay. Do you, do you remember and right before the touchdown, the, the fumble touchdown return in that, in that drive where it was like third and something, Juju got, I believe it was by James Bradbury juju. Juju got held and there was another hole that Bradbury didn't get. Didn't get called for that did okay. You don't think that the offensive coordinator or the receivers or the head coach go to the reference and say, Hey, what they're doing is they're holding my receiver before the route starts. So watch out for it next time. Watch. Watch out for it. You're working the rest. And you, you, you don't, you don't think that happens very similar to like, if an offensive lineman holds a d lineman, the de, you better believe the d lineman is in the referee space. Hey ref, RAF ref, he's holding you from the inside jersey. He's yanking it. He's yanking it. He's yanking it. Yeah. You don't think the ref's gonna, so what what happened is, I promise you not Andy Reid, possibly Eric Bmy or the receiver's coach at halftime before they walk out onto the field, was in the ear. of the of, of the referee showing him under tablets, showing him, yeah, look, you see this, you see this, this didn't enable, and the re will, you know, what the ref says. And a lot of times we were doing that. Like we would tell the reps, he the rests like, Hey man, I didn't see it. I didn't see it. We're like, okay, just, just watch out for it. That's what they're doing. And yeah, that are complaining. Shut the fuck up. Oh, it was uncatchable. It was Uncatchable. First of all, it doesn't matter if it's catchable or not. Like you said, that's holding. It doesn't matter. And number two, if you want to go, the reason why it wasn't catchable was because when you disrupt the receiver at the beginning of his pattern, he's, of course, of course he's gonna be three yards short. Fucking morons. It just, you know what, it's, it's, it's the same shit with the Bills. Fans complaining, oh, we lost last year because the playoff rules are bad. No, you lost because your defense, which is one third of your fucking team, wasn't able to stop Patrick Mahomes in 13 seconds. Yeah. Yeah. Or whatever It was like, honest to God, I, I, my, I'm becoming that grumpy old man that it's like, oh my God, people need to stop fucking complaining, right? I mean, look, I mean, you, you lost the game because you, you allowed a, a score on every drive in the second half, right? Like that. Like, that's why you lost the game. You lost the game. You lost the game. Cause you didn't establish the run game. You never established run game. You didn't decide Patrick, like, and that was the right call. People told me, oh, Karosh, you wouldn't be saying that if it was against the cowboy. You know what, I would be mad as hell, but I would look at the replay and say, shoot, it was the right call. It sucks that they called it, but it, I cannot argue that it was the correct call. I'd be, of course, I'd be upset about it, but I, but I would not say that we got robbed by a bad call. That is actually incorrect. It was the, i i, there, there's a very famous or rather infamous Philly fan. I don't know if you know him, you know Barry mcc. Good old Barry. Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. Okay. All right. So, but that's not, that's not a real person though. That's just a caricature. Well, yeah, but the person who does that, who runs the account Yeah. Yeah. Is is also his YouTube channel. He is he is the Eagles fan. I don't know if you've seen him on YouTube. I, I'm not shocked with a name like that at and Eagles fan. No, I, I have not seen him. Okay. He, he's phenomenal. He's fantastic. You, you need, you need to watch his video where, where he says, Brady is the most overrated player in the nfl. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure he says it all. I'm sure he says it all, but, but, but maybe you and I can do like a, like, like a, like a live reaction. I, I can watch it and react live for the first time, you know? Yeah. So any, anyways, but, but he has come around to say, you know what, he is the greatest of all time, even though I hate his gut. So, so he's turned around. Once he won with Tampa, he said, you know what that said, I hate to admit it, he's the greatest of all time, but, but he's still overrated anyways. That's fine. No, he, he's an Eagles fan and, and he came out and, and like he had a minute long video of literally after a Super Bowl bitching and mourning how, okay, yes, it might be the right call, but this is a ticky tack called that gets, that doesn't get called at, you know, during the game. So he shouldn't have been called there. You know, you need to let players. No, Barry. No, you're wrong. The, the, the Chiefs were in the ears of the refs after that third and long or third and whatever it was where, where Juju got held. You better believe that the, and the refs correctly did not miss it for a second time. It would've been bad if the refs missed it again. That would've been, it would've been criminal if the refs missed it again, right? Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. I mean, I like. So there's nothing to argue about here. I, we, none. It's, it's, it's a nonfactor. I, I thought maybe, I thought maybe you weren't gonna agree with me on that one and, and say, oh, you're just saying that cuz it's a cow cause he's a cowboy fan. No, no. It was legitimately the right call. So the dude held him. The dude held him. He absolutely, absolutely held him. And here's the thing, let's not forget, Juju had seven receptions for 53 yards. Yeah. He was No, but, but but beyond the, beyond the, beyond the yardage, those quick passes that we were talking, those timing passes. Yep. Juju was, was integral. And, and getting him first downs Absolutely. Was he had seven receptions. He should have had nine because on the first one where he got caught where he got held in the, in the first half, and on the second one that you better believe that would've been a reception. Yeah. You better believe that would've been a reception. Yeah. I mean, and, and by the way, sharp by the way, how about, I mean, to me, the case closer. Bradbury into his credit. I give him all the credit in the world. After the game, he said I held him. I grabbed the jersey and I was hoping not to get caught. You know what? Mad, respected James Bradbury. Yeah. Mad, respected, mad fucking respected. That's a grown man. Mad respect. I mean, he admit it. So it, it's, yeah, no, it, it's that, that's, that's the man right there. That that is a man right there for dude. I mean, how many times do you see people just dig their heels on the ground in that situation? Right? Yeah. And just, and just deny it, or no, man, it was like they were calling the game a certain way and No, no, no. He said, he said it was holding, I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide. That's the exact quote. And you don't, and you don't think honest. You don't think, you don't think that was part of Philly's. Philly's game plan on the defense. Hey, you. Yeah. I mean, look, you can't call holding every play right here, here. Here's the thing, kuru, one of the ways that the, that the bills and the Bengals have been successful and the Chargers against the Chiefs is if you notice their games, they smash Travis, Chelsea. At the line of scrimmage and they push the boundaries. I'm not saying that they hold them every time. I, I would never take away credit. I would never take away credit from, you know those defenses and how they're planted. But you better believe that, that, that it goes like, look, you keep pushing the boundary. You keep pushing the boundary. You keep pushing the boundary. I told you I did that. I, I used to freaking, I, I krush against great players. I would hold, and then I, I would count on the fact that at the beginning of this play, I would literally cla. They used to call me the claw. That was my nickname, They're like the claw. I would, I would literally headbutt the defensive lineman or end or outside linebacker, and I would swing my arms open wide and I would smash the outside shoulder pads and hold them for a second. And then I would literally adjust one arm at a time to the inside, hoping, hoping that the ref's gonna say, well, his hands ended up. But he moved them inside. But to your point, char, I bet you you're right. They, they, they, they had seen the whole driller, the co the chief's coaching staff where isnt the ref's ears or, and so is Juju probably. And they were watching it on that play because why doesn't e s, espn, hold on. I'm not the only former football player that, that talks football. Why don't the former football players in on e s, ESPN N talk about that. Maybe they are. I, I, I mean I haven't seen it, but may you know, I mean, how about on Fox? Everybody's talking about what a bad call was that p people are talking about whether they should have, I I agree. It's like, because people are upset, they, they, they want their version of what should be entertaining to prevail, and it's like, I'm sorry, the rules don't go out the window because you wanna be. Right. Like he grabbed him like it was, it wasn't like, and I agree if it was just the call at the top of the route, I agree that's ins like incidental contact, like his hand was around the hip a little bit. Like that to me wasn't enough. But when you see Jersey getting pulled, Like, what are you supposed to do, man? Like, like, no, what I, what I'm asking is why, why aren't, why aren't the former players who know this happens, who remember say, Hey, you better believe that the chiefs were telling the refs Watch out at the beginning of the route treat. Why isn't anybody talking about that? I mean, they should be. They should be. If they're not, they should be. Speak. Speaking of defense era, one other angle to this game that I thought interesting was the story came out the day of the Super Bowl. that the Eagles signed in the two week break between the conference championship at zero, they signed Vic fio to a two week contract to help them devise their defensive game plan. I have never seen this before, but it's obviously within the rules. Yes, fan G did sign on to become the Dolphins de coordinator. but I'm assuming his start date is probably sometime, you know before the draft or something. It's, it, it didn't conflict with his, with his start date, so he, he wasn't employed simultaneously. I thought that was, it just felt like the Eagles were very thirsty. To win this game. Obviously it's a Super Bowl, so I understand the idea of, Hey, I'm gonna take every advantage I can. FIO is a guy who put the Denver Broncos, went against Mahomes a few times, so might have something to say, and he is one of the more respected defensive minds in the game. He's laughing all the way to the bank. I mean, whatever he did didn't, didn't help. But what do you think? This thing to hire FIO for two weeks as a consultant. I think it's phenomenal. I think, I think the Eagles weren't gonna leave any stones unturned and it didn't work. But, you know, doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. It shows you the commit. It shows you the commitment that I agree. Here. Here's my thing, char, you know, you, you, you've gotten here a certain way. Okay? Could you imagine Bill Belichick outsourcing his defensive game plan to, to, to someone on the outside? Like that was, no, but I, but I can see, I, I, I could see Bill Belichick bringing an offensive mastermind that's, that's not hired in an important game like the Super Bowl to help him out. If, if he felt, if he felt that could help him. Nick fan, it almost feels like the Eagles, it feels like eagles almost like outsmart of themselves. Like they're trying to do so much out of desperation to win the game. They almost like, but, but how do you know that? How, how do you know, you know, how do you know that it was a lot of move, a lot of steps like that, that they've taken, that, that helped them, helped them try to look, I have no problem with that. You're, you're no problem. That had a negative at some point. At some point, well, at some point you, you gotta trust the process that got you here, right? Like I don't know. No, no. The thing is, it didn't work. The thing is it didn't work. Like they just, cause it didn't work, doesn't mean it was it was bad to me. I look at it as, as they're committed to, They're committed and you should committed to winning. Look, their, their, their front office won the what? I think Holly Roseman won the GM of the year. I mean, so, and look, I mean, with all the moves they've made to acquire all this talent, they've still got two first round picks. I mean, it's unbelievable. Unbelievable maneuvering in the front office of that organization. So I just thought that was, I mean, by the way, what what do you think Vic Vic fan charges for two weeks of his time like that? Like what, what was the rate you think? I I could see him making like 250 grand. Yeah. man. Living a good life, huh? Right. I mean, like the devil favors kids college tuition. Well, no, that, that, that would, that would seem like that's fair for like a independent contractor coming. No, I, I, I think. I think that's actually on the low end. I wouldn't be shocked if he got half a million, 300,000 for an important game like this. I mean, he definitely, he definitely would have some leverage and negotiating table given us for the Super Bowl. So, well it's, but I also think beyond that, I think Dad really, that's great advertisement for him. Say hey, oh yeah. Hey, look, look, look, look, look. What's going on? Fell. Well, yeah, and I wonder actually cuz because he negotiated a pretty high salary with Miami and he wanted the, the Dan Quinn deal. I almost wonder if he's like, listen, I'm Phil Philly wants me to, to do this. I mean, I, I almost wonder if he, if he used that as as ammunition to bolster his value. Wouldn, you think Ben get hired by the dolphins? They announced that, I think, was it last week or two weeks ago they announced that he was new deport. Okay. So, so when, when he did that, that was two, two weeks ago. But I'm, I'm sure he was aware. No, I'm not talking about the Philly, I'm talking about by Miami. Was it two weeks ago? Yeah, it was two weeks ago. Okay. So I'm, I'm sure that, I'm sure the talks with Philly were already underway, that hey. Oh, for sure. So, so this is something that probably Dolphins were, were aware of, and I guarantee that helped them get you. Say, Hey, listen, if you guys, if you guys don't if, if, if you guys don't wanna pay me, look the Eagles are paying me, you know, whatever it is. The 10th of that, just for one game. So I look, I can see big, big fan. You getting, getting a million, I honestly gotta, it wouldn't shock me it was a million bucks for a game. Hey God, God bless me. Question is, how does the defensive coordinator for the Eagles feel about that? Right? Jonathan Gannon. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, well, isn't he leaving anyways? He's going. No, I think, I think it's Shane Steichen. They just announced Shane Steichen, the offensive coordinator is a new coach over in Indie. Okay. I think, I don't think, I think Gannon was in the interview cycles, but I don't think Gannon's getting, or at least, but, but he was definitely, he was definitely a candidate, wasn't he? I think he's actually still in the running in Arizona. Technically. I think he's one of the final three, so Yeah, you're right. He's, he's still might be moving on potentially. Yeah. Hey, tell you what, that Arizona, that's a, that's a great gig. I'm telling, I'm telling you right now. Get outta here, dude. I disagree. You want Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You wanna Coach Murray? Get outta here. Have you ever? No. No. Forget the football Xs and O's. No, I, I've seen cliffs, king Cliffs, Kingsbury's house. Okay. Yeah. Have you, if, if it wasn't for fact that from the month of middle of May, till the end of September, it is absolute living. Right. Okay. Arizona's a perfect place to live because I'm telling you, I look, when I had my, my medical device company, I was traveling to Scottsdale to visit the doctors in area. Oh my God. In, in, like, I from October till April. And, and the, the, the ladies, the ladies in, in Scottsdale are, are f. They are beautiful. And why does that matter for you? You're, you're, you're a, you're, you know, you're a taken ma'am, but yeah, I, I get what you're saying. Okay. Yeah, we, cause I'm, I'm blind, right. Come on, And, and, and this, this, you know, this is, was at the time when, when I was I was rather single, so I see. Okay. Say no more. Say no more. Okay. Any, anyhow, there's a, there's a few stories in there, I'm sure. Hey, Arizona is the, Arizona is the place to be. Arizona is the place to. What you're telling me is it's, it's the desert, but it's not really the desert. No. Because when, when you, when you're making 10 million a year, when you, when you're making 10 million a year, you can, you can pay$40,000 a year to Cool. I'm not saying heat your pool Cool. Your pool. Wow. People have to do that. I have, I have clients that told me that for like 4th of July parties, they would, they would spend like six,$7,000 to bring in ice to keep their, to keep their pool from being too, Wow. Yeah. that's, that's a different set of problems, man. Right, right. I mean, if there, if there were ever something called first world problems, right, that would Exactly. But in any case, man, the thing is the, the, the, the other thing I'll say here about this game is that I'll speak from a bias standpoint. What was particularly gratifying to me was to finally see. the Eagles actually get tested by a good team. It's the, the first time it's happened where a, a good team punched them back in the mouth and they, they, they were not able to, to respond really. I mean, they, they did play a great game, but at the end of the day, I think that, that justice prevailed, right? Like the, the, the team with the more legitimate path. Oh, stop prevailed because once Philadelphia lost control of the game in the second half, they never got it. And they cannot make the adjustments and it's really easy to look good when you're dunking on inferior competition. This, no, this is your Dallas Cowboy. It's real easy to pound your chest after you went against the niner team. Couldn't throw a pass in the second half. Now you real team. This is, this is the Dallas Cowboys fan, and you speaking, get outta here. Well, tell me what, I should get outta here. What did I say? That wasn't the truth? The, the eagle. What wasn't the truth? The eagles didn't have a single bad loss. They, they, they, they maybe say their, the loss to the commanders. But that's you know, divisional game. Come on. How about Dak Prescott shredding the secondary? I, I, I, I don't think Jill hurts by defense. Okay, so what, so what? My point is the only game, the only game that they got, literally, I could say okay, they got fortunate in was the 49ers. That's it. they also beat the Giants three times. They also barely beat the Colts by one point. They, they, they, you know, they, they, they, they pounded their chest for beating the Dak Prescott list Cowboys. And they said when the Cowboys beat them, well, we didn't have, we didn't have Jalen Hertz. Just a bunch of hypocrisy. Look at the end of the day, this is, this is you being a Cowboy fan, planet. I have, I hate the Eagles. I hate the eagles. I'm telling the truth. Nothing. I'm, I'm stating facts. No, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're calling a red truck, you know Cardinal instead of calling it red. All right. So come on. Great. Two things can be true. They can. Philadelphia can be a great team while taking massive advantage of a very easy. and that's what happened first. No, no. Team in the N F L is an easy team, number one. Number two, okay, come on, man. In the monotony, in a monotony of an 18 week season, all right, to not have any slips or maybe just like one slip. All right. And honestly, the loss of the commanders, that's the inner division game. They, they, they, they hooked them and, and nailed them and got'em. So they didn't have a bad loss crush. They took care of, so, yeah, because, because they didn't play anybody. How can you have a bad loss? You don't play anybody. No, because by definition, a bad losses losing to an inferior team. Okay. Or getting, otherwise it wouldn't, otherwise it wouldn't be a bad loss. Okay. I see what you're saying. I'm, I'm thinking more getting dominated by No. A team as well, but no, it was a great season for Philly. I just think this puts it into perspective is that when they were never challenged, they were never, ever truly challenged. They got challenged every week that they slept on the field to Russia. When I say challenged, I mean punched back in the mouth in the second half of the game. And when it finally happened against a, a formidable opponent, they could not get the win. And that's a fact. So, and, and it was, and it was a bad game. It was a great game. It was a great game. Look I like Jalen Hertz, so that would've been kind of my silver lining. But look, here's the last thing on say. I know I come on here and I talk about how I'm sick of the romantic, the, the, the romanticizing of Patrick Mahomes and how all the media is running to, to, to carry a jocks track, jocks strap forum, and all that. I was reflecting on this Sunday night. I can promise you and I. feel free to keep me in check on this one. Moving forward. I can never say another negative comment to Patrick Mahomes. Again, when I say that, I don't mean a legitimate criticism, I just mean more so I will never again be upset at the fanfare he gets. You know why this guy? Is now responsible for beating the Niners and the Eagles in the Super Bowl. If you're a Cowboy fan, he's a national hero. Okay. like, like he has done, he prevented the Niners from getting to six before the Cowboys did, and he prevented the Eagles from getting another Super Bowl like that. To me, he's given the gift that keeps song giving. I don't have another negative thing to. About Patrick Mahomes. I salute you, sir. On this day, no, I, if the media and, and this, and this goes to show you why you made the statement about the Eagles that you did, because you're, you're doing it all from a perspective. You, you're looking at the world through blue color cowboy glasses. That's, that's, that's what's going on. Okay. Come on, man. Come on, man. Whereas me, as, as, as, as a, as an actual red. Okay. I was thinking that would be so cool if the Eagles won won. So now you can say, you know what, every single team in that division has multiple Super Bowls. Yeah. You, you, you and Micah Parsons think the same way. He said, win one for the division. It's like, no, Micah, I love you, brother, but I, I respectfully disagree on this one. don't you wanna say that the team that we couldn't beat in the division was at least the Super Bowl champs? No, not one of the Okay, well that's, that's okay. That's cause you didn't play. Maybe if you played the game like, well, okay, here's the thing. I, I played a little bit of jv, you know, I, I've play widely. I, I'm talking about played the, the, the game of football. Okay? Here's the thing. The only, the only things that Michael Parsons and I have in common, beyond being extremely, both of us, extremely good looking, is the fact that we played the game of football. So, if both of us are saying that, Come on, you. You're coming from a perspective of a, of a, of, of a guy that wants to say, if, if I lost, I lost a champ. I, we, as a Redskins fan, I take zero pleasure in the Eagles not winning. Kind of, I mean, but other o, other Washington fans would disagree with you on that because they didn't play the game. They didn't play the game. Oh, okay. That's what, look, I, I, I, I respect the opinion, but I would say you've ne you've, you've never sat, you've never sat in my shoes either to, to know, you know, what I've gone through as a fan. So, yeah. Oh no. All those years of hard work courage that you put in, you haven't, you haven not sat on my sat on the couch. Okay. Okay. Yeah. All. Yeah, I only grew up a Rams and Raiders fan, so come on. We haven't done the laps of the fridge and back to the couch again. Like a true fan Yeah, exactly. Exactly. You know what? You're right. I should, I should keep my mouth shut because how dare I, how dare I not not recognize your, your life's struggle, Listen, man. No, but in all seriousness, all that, obviously hell of a season for Philly. And look, Jalen Herz is still on rookie contract. They've got a plethora of weapons there. They've retooled both sides of the ball and if they've got two first round picks, so they got the luxury of the, the, you know, they can just draft best available and continue to develop talent. Like they, they're gonna be a problem for a long time in the nfc. And I've got a feeling this is probably not the last time we'll, Ja Hertz and a Super Bowl. I don't know what, what, what you think, but this is probably the beginning of, of a good run here for Philly, unfortunately. Yeah. I mean, you, you, you would think so, right? And, and look, ha Roseman has already shown what he can do with limited resources and now you've given him extra draft choices. Yeah. And I believe those draft choices aren't all late first round draft choices. Right. They're, they're pretty high up. They have, they have the 10th. Yeah, there you go. That's, that's what I was talking about. Yeah. I can't, I can't remember who it's from, but Yeah. And now they have the 30, and then they have 31, obviously because they lost Super Bowl. So the 31, right. Yeah. I mean, you could even maybe package those picks together and get more, like there's a lot of they can do and I'm sure they're gonna find ways to be creative. But I mean, giving a, a Super Bowl caliber team, two first round picks, it just seems unfair, man. Like, they don't have any holes anywhere on the team. Like, can you think of a, maybe they, maybe they go draft a great corner or something, right? And help you never have too many, you can never have too many corner. You could never have too many tackles. Yeah. Yeah. So look, lot of luxury for Philly right now. So here's here, here's what, here's what you need to do. I don't think, I think the packaging their deals to get a higher pick, I think that's, that's the wrong way of looking at it. It depends who's there. It depends who's available. But you're right, probably not because they don't have you. You do that, you do that If you have a generational quarterback that that, that you're sure. Okay. That, that's, that's, that's when you do it. But when you, when you can literally, especially in, in, in a, in a year where people are gonna be paying handover fists to get quarterbacks that 10th round pick, if couple quarterbacks get taken, you can make that turn, that 10th round pick into an 18th, pick and get couple extra, you know, who knows a couple extra picks. And these are the teams that that look. I would want, if, if, if I was Philly with that 31st pick, there's a running back that's coming out that's supposed to be phenomenal. I forget his name, but his name slips me. But there, there's a guy like Bruce Hall coming out, which to me late round, late round, first picks on running backs are good. Cause that means they're going to a good team. Yeah. And, and a good team. You know, getting, getting a, getting a weapon at the running back position. Cause look, miles Sanders is a free agent now. He is. He is. Yeah. I do not do Austin. Scott's going for kind of a complimentary guy. Yeah, so, so do not, do not overpay for Miles, Sanders. Do not let him go. Let him go. Hey Miles, thank you. See you later. We'll sign, we'll sign you to a couple million dollar contract or, or see you later. Plain it simple. And you draft that young stud coming out of God, I'm, I'm unprepared. Well, well, we'll have plenty of time. They get to the draft stuff, man, but Right. The point is Billy has some good options in front of them. And here's what I'll say. I, I remember there was a big hoopla. Remember when the Eagles drafted Jalen Herz in the second round with Carson Munz obviously. Sign, take a ton of heat, and the eagles were fervent. They said, we believe in his talent to us. We evaluated him like a next Russell Wilson. Yeah. Look, look, look at the way it's paid off, obviously, you know, I don't think they meant like, for like, in terms of the way they played the game, but just no late, mid, round quarterback. Yeah. So I, I mean, credit to them, man, as I hate to say it, they, I, I, as a cowboy fan, I. our team was run like Philly. I, I gotta tip my cap to what they're doing over there. And yeah, I mean de I mean, what can you say man about Kansas City? Andy Reeds submitting his legacy. I think he was already a hall of famer. He's just put a double stamp on now being a first ballot hall of Famer. And Patrick Mahomes, man, five seasons. Been to the conference championship every season, been to three Super Bowls, won two. I mean, there is no better start to a career in N F L history than what Patrick Williams has done. What an incredible tandem him and Andy Reid are. And Andy reconfirmed after the game, they asked him, are you coming back to go? He said, I'm coming back. God help me. So they'll be back. Yeah. No, that's, look I love Andrew Reid. You know, you know my, my, my college coach. Chris Alt, the Great Chris Alt has you know, he consulted for that, right? Yeah. Consults with him and is good friends with him and thinks the world of him. So I think the world of him, I, I remember him, you know, from my days of playing. Just, just a good, just a good guy. Just a nice man. So and like universally just loved Yeah. The, he, he, he, he's loved and. And look, they gotta make him dynasty. You got, you got a guy, you, you gotta, you got Patrick Mahomes. Who's Aaron Rogers and Tom Brady combined. So it's. So it's, it's sky. The sky's the limit, no pun. Yeah. And look, as, as fans, we should look, I've, again, I've never been a Chiefs fan, but I've become a pseudo chiefs fan now because over the last four years I've made God knows tens of thousands of dollars. Betting, betting the Chiefs. Maybe more No, seriously. You, you know that, you know that. So I've, I've, I've found myself always rooting for them because e even this last game, I made a ton of money in the Super Bowl, so, Yeah. No, man. I mean, as, as fans, we're very fortunate to, to have him coming in when we, when we just lost a great Tom Brady. Oh man. I, I mean this next guard, I mean, and it's gonna be Mahomes and, and Josh Allens still in the mix. Obviously there's talks about maybe Aaron Rogers going to the Jets. I mean, there's point being, there's gonna be some good battles across the AFC for all. Trevor Lawrence is coming up, so this next guard is gonna be fun to watch and, oh, Justin Herbert? Yeah. Joe Burrow. Yeah, absolutely. Oh yeah, of course. Harbert. there's gonna be some guys they're gonna be fun to watch, go against each other for, for many years to come. And yeah, man, I mean, what I'll, what I'll say too is, like I said, I will not demean, or say anything else about Mahomes. The media can, can salivate over the way he runs. They can salivate over him, making a routine down, whatever. He's, he's, he's. Two of the Cowboys biggest rivals on, on the biggest stage in the Super Bowl. So Mahomes, you're a hero, sir. I got nothing else to say. No, he's the only thing that pisses me off is I, I don't, I don't like these freaking Johnny come lately. And, and, and, and you know, they, they, they poo-pooed him when he was having a hard time. And, you know I kind of feel jilted over because I was the one, two years ago were saying. The Chiefs are struggling because of Patrick Holmes, but he's the one guy in the NFL that I believe in fixing, you know, what he is doing. And so, you know, whatever, it's, it's it's too two, we've known, we've known how great he's been for many years, so, The man is beyond legit with a lot, and the things in common that they have these two teams have is they're gonna be good, luckily for a long time. So we'll see. But great Super Bowl, man. It was a fun game. And I, I, I had just taken the teams out of it, just a one of, one of the best, I think in, in recent years in terms of quality of the game back and forth, high scoring lead changes. That was a fun one, man. No, absolute beautiful game to watch. Indeed. All right, brother, well, listen, this is our last episode in terms of the games, but. We know there is no off season, right? So we'll be back to talk about free agency, the draft, all that. So tune in continually to the access of football. We're not going anywhere. Char Sounds good, buddy. All right, until next time buddy. Take care.
