This is where the distinction between core and non-core processes comes into play. Core processes are typically integrated into the ERP system, while non-core processes may or may not be included. One of the most universally essential core processes in any ERP discussion is the order-to-cash process. It's worth noting that for certain industries, the order-to-cash concept might seem perplexing, especially if they don't handle traditional orders. However, regardless of whether an organization processes orders or not, the order-to-cash process remains critically important.
