00;00;00;00 - 00;00;20;00 Unknown Statistically, you're more likely to be a millionaire than to have visible six pack abs. Only 2 to 3% of Americans have visible six pack abs. 7 to 10% of the US adults are millionaires. It is a dashboard like to getting a shower and a look. And it's not a six pack. Yeah I'm like, oh snap. I felt conviction in my spirit that I'm supposed to be disciplining this body. 00;00;20;07 - 00;00;37;07 Unknown And what if a situation arises in the future where I'm not ready? Start where you are. Can you do 100 push ups? Can you do your air squat? If the answer is no, no shame. Get curious about that. Start where you are. Start with ten, maybe five. Set your sights on something that scares you and inspires you. Go for something bigger than you think is possible. 00;00;37;08 - 00;01;04;01 Unknown When you look in the mirror, that's not the real you. When you read first loneliest 523 you are Mondo Nate. Statistically, you're more likely to be a millionaire than to have visible six pack abs. So let me start here. If abs are rarer than wealth, does that mean getting lean requires more discipline than getting rich? Is it a statement or a question? 00;01;04;01 - 00;01;23;12 Unknown I'm pondering that I've heard some of those numbers before or that that loose association, but I didn't know the exact detail. That's fascinating. How many millionaires do we have and and how many people are quantified in regards to having abs? And how do we define that? Is invisible six pack. Invisible six pack visible six. Yep. Okay, so check this out. 00;01;23;12 - 00;01;46;03 Unknown Right. So there is 7 to 10% of us adults are millionaires. Have made $1 million or have a net, or millionaires have a net worth of 1 million or more. Yes. Okay. So, okay. Only 2 to 3% of Americans have visible six pack abs. How many Americans are there? 360 million or so. Okay. Yeah. Okay. That 10%. 36 million crazy. 00;01;46;03 - 00;02;05;13 Unknown 2%. 3% of Americans have visible six fat guys. 3 million. Yeah, it's about 3 million. Essentially, it's easier statistically or more people. It's easier to make a million, make $1 million millionaire than it is to be a millionaire. Okay? Making a million is one thing. Being a millionaire, having $1 million in actual net assets is an entirely different story. 00;02;05;15 - 00;02;24;00 Unknown So that's difficult. And yet it's statistically easier than having abs. Now I would say when I got abs, which I have a six pack now at almost 40 years old in a few weeks. Hey, congratulations. Have your early birthday. Thank you. I mean yes. Stepping into a new decade and in my abs came at probably 28 years old. 00;02;24;01 - 00;02;41;11 Unknown So even though I was a college athlete, I never had I never had six pack abs. I'm interesting. Now, when I was a skinnier kid in high school, we could have said, like, you could probably see a little bit of definition, but I didn't work out. I played tennis. I didn't have muscle definition. I was just lean. 00;02;41;13 - 00;03;02;07 Unknown So mine came later. But I would say that my abs came before making $1 million and before the financial piece. So it was a discipline and it was a foundation. So it's possible to do it the other way around, right. What was your experience as far as making money versus. Yeah, man. Interesting. Because for me, I started working out. 00;03;02;07 - 00;03;28;10 Unknown So I was always an athlete. Yeah, always an athlete. And I didn't really start focusing on my physique until around 14, 13. I was it 13 ish as in training, not for the athletic endeavor, but for a national strength. Okay, right. Like to change my actual physique? Yeah. So always active. Played every sport growing up. And then for me, I would. 00;03;28;10 - 00;03;45;14 Unknown Yeah. From 12, 13 years old, actually. Okay. It's where I started actually, I would, I remember I would wake up in the morning and I would immediately hit the floor and I would do as many pushups as I could. Jeez, man, you're a beast. So, so it's like, let me get this done, like, ASAP, right? And then I would do sit ups. 00;03;45;17 - 00;04;01;13 Unknown So it was push ups and sit ups. And then I eventually got a pull up or start doing pull ups. So for me I had I've had a six pack since I was 13. Oh, you were born with a six pack. Let's be on now bro. Like for real? Like so to I'm 43 and I've always had a six pack. 00;04;01;13 - 00;04;24;08 Unknown Okay. By God's grace. And I think I'm in a position now where it's, it's more so. So for me that's the, the six pack the physique, the discipline definitely came before the finances. Yeah the habits. So when I, when I look back on it, it's been a maintenance. Yeah. You've carried a lot of momentum. So it's. Yeah. So you're in there you little now at all to maintain it. 00;04;24;10 - 00;04;39;06 Unknown But it is a dashboard light. So if I start to notice that I'm not like if I go get in the shower and I look and there's not a six pack. Yeah, I'm like, oh snap. Like bro, like that is my standard. Okay. Because I see myself as an athlete. But that is my bare minimum standard. Got it. 00;04;39;08 - 00;04;59;23 Unknown So my waist goes. It'll it'll go between like 32 to 34in. And how tall are you, man? I'm six one, 215 pounds right now. So. Yeah. So that's my standard. Yeah. Period. Like, if it gets below that or drops off immediately, I'm I'm making a just. Do you know your BMI. My BMI is not good because I have a lot more muscle. 00;04;59;25 - 00;05;11;14 Unknown So my BMI is not a good metric weights higher even though you have a lower fat content. But it'll say so if I do a BMI thing, it's going to say that I'm out of range. I don't look at or use the BMI. Oh, so that now what I will tell you, it's a great yeah, it's a great it is. 00;05;11;17 - 00;05;30;11 Unknown It is really good though. Yeah. Because I just did this. What's today? Today is Thursday. I did this on Monday. So this is very accurate within a week. So 215 pounds. My body fat percentage is 5.1% right now. Wow. At this moment is 5.1. That's so for me I look at my body fat percentage because I want to have as much muscle mass as possible. 00;05;30;18 - 00;05;44;07 Unknown Muscle is going to burn fat at a much higher rate, and in my body fat percentage is low. If I can visibly see my six pack, my waist is small. I know that I'm healthy. Yeah, and I just got my blood lipid. So all of my panels are good. All my numbers are great. Cholesterol, blood pressure, everything is perfect. 00;05;44;07 - 00;06;04;00 Unknown Nice coach. Yeah. Your metabolism is based off of your muscle mass. Essentially, there's certain cellular function and that's built into that process. But exactly what you said. So I don't use the BMI. It's not a very useful tool. It's very skewed, especially as you try to build more muscle and reduce fat. It's going to say you're obese even when you're a specimen like Mondo. 00;06;04;00 - 00;06;22;13 Unknown So when you're trying to do a body mass index, I think if you're obese or overweight and you're trying to get to a healthy weight, I think BMI is a good metric. Yeah, but if you're an athlete is a horrible metric. So as an athlete or someone who you have, those who are, you have skinny fat, right? Like the person looks good with clothes on. 00;06;22;15 - 00;06;47;18 Unknown But when you stand to look in the mirror, you don't really like what you see because there's no real tone or definition or muscularity. So even with that, you could use that metric. But for me, I personally think body fat percentage is the best. Yeah. Because you want to generate as much muscle as possible. Yeah. So in a financial metric, Dave Ramsey getting out of debt would kind of be like using the BMI if you need to shed some serious weight because you're in the obese category, you don't have a lot of muscle, but you have a good bit of fat. 00;06;47;25 - 00;07;03;19 Unknown All right. You need to Dave Ramsey get out of the DME. Yeah. And then when you get down Dave Ramsey he's not good for building wealth and for the investments. Correct. But he helps you get out of debt and manage what you have. Right. So then once you get to that place where you manage, now you're in the athlete category. 00;07;03;24 - 00;07;20;06 Unknown Now you want to increase your weight by building society it up, Skyler. And then you're switching over into measuring your body fat percentage. Yeah. So building a business, learning how to do stocks, to learn how to do real estate. Like that's where you're the athlete. Yeah. You starting to leverage your investments now because you're in shape because you can't exactly go on the run. 00;07;20;06 - 00;07;49;05 Unknown Yeah. So speaking of that I'd like to transition. Mando. Is physical discipline actually harder than financial discipline? I think it's I think it's one in the same. And here's why. Because I believe that how you do one thing is how you do everything. And if you have the ability to lock in on a clear vision in regards to your health and how you want to show up physically, now it may not be an athlete like you might not be a like a life changing ninja warrior like like Nate here, a physical specimen like him. 00;07;49;07 - 00;08;02;04 Unknown But you may just want to show up in such a way where you can just be present at your job, right? And you can actually show up and do the things you need to do, and then come home and be present with your kids and show up for your family. Right? So for me, shifting over into the finance, it's a discipline. 00;08;02;07 - 00;08;19;18 Unknown It's the same thing. Like, are you looking at your numbers once a month? Right. Like, are you in a position where you're making good decisions when it comes to debt? How are you leveraging your finances? Do you have a budget, like are you doing the practices, the the mechanics? Are you doing the basic foundational things? They're going to set you up for life. 00;08;19;20 - 00;08;38;22 Unknown So I believe the mindset is the same around the discipline. It's just transferring from one industry to another from one space to another. Nate same question. Yeah. So to me it comes down to the vision for that category. So we have whether or not you have a vision for your finances or for your health and fitness. And I'll give you a context. 00;08;38;22 - 00;08;54;29 Unknown I'm in my life. So I'm a newer coach here at Rise Up Kings. And I am an athlete by my identification of myself. But I wasn't raised that way. I didn't start off with abs. And so as people will hear my story, they'll be like, man, that's that's just impossible. It's crazy. You had abs since you were 13 years old. 00;08;55;01 - 00;09;15;05 Unknown I became a real athlete in college. I put on 60 pounds of muscle. Wow. And in about a year and a half, because I was underweight in high school, we didn't have have much in my family of five kids. Preachers, preachers, kid didn't have a lot of extra money for food and a few of the things I didn't understand training. 00;09;15;05 - 00;09;39;04 Unknown I played tennis for two years because no one played tennis where I was from. I was home schooled and I joined in in high school late, so I didn't have opportunity as an athlete. I was 130 pounds at 19 years old, six foot tall. Wow, wow. I get to college, I got a meal plan. I've got air conditioning in my dorm unit, I'm sleeping deeper, and I joined a weightlifting class and made my body rolls back to its potential, which I'd probably be naturally around 175. 00;09;39;06 - 00;09;56;09 Unknown And then I started doing the work and got up to 185, then 190, then 195, and I was trying out for the football team in that process. So I became an athlete. Now I still probably had 12, 13% body fat. I didn't have visible abs. Maybe I was more like 15% did not have visible abs in that process. 00;09;56;12 - 00;10;10;20 Unknown Got injured when I finished my college degree in engineering, got an engineering job, worked at a desk. I was a desk jockey for like two and a half years and just atrophying in fitness every once while I go work out, but I had no vision behind it. I had a vision. Finance. Financially wise, what am I doing? What am I goals? 00;10;10;20 - 00;10;25;18 Unknown What are my metrics? And you can begin tracking things when you have a reason why you're doing it. If you don't have a reason for why you want to be in shape, you won't put much effort towards it and you won't have a lot of discipline there. And I'm building up to when I one realize I'm letting my body atrophy. 00;10;25;18 - 00;10;43;27 Unknown I'm not taking care of this vehicle. I have enough right now to manage my desk job and to go out on site and manage some operations, but I don't. I'm not doing much with this, and I felt conviction in my spirit that I'm supposed to be disciplining this body. And what if a situation arises in the future where I'm not ready for whatever that could be? 00;10;43;27 - 00;11;01;29 Unknown It could be in protection mode, it could be over my future family. It could be something related to the job I worked in the oil and gas industry. What if a piece of equipment was falling over and I tried to run away and I couldn't? I had a conviction that I need to steward this body better. And in the process, somewhere in there, I saw American Ninja Warrior on TV and I'm like, I'm going for that. 00;11;02;02 - 00;11;25;21 Unknown And without going into that story, I can listen to the episode. I got to do a Skyler a couple years ago in the background. I began to set a vision for my life, and my vision was bigger then I want abs. My vision financially was bigger then. You know what? I'd love to have a balanced budget. I had a conviction that if I don't have a balanced budget, if I don't have structure in this, I'm not going to accomplish my bigger vision that my goals are built off of. 00;11;25;23 - 00;11;48;02 Unknown So when I got some of that conviction, you know, what a cool byproduct that came out of that process? The byproduct was abs. Same in marriage, right? If you're if your view of marriage is I want to be happy and want to have a good sex life, if that's your aim, you won't hit it. But you know what a good byproduct of a marriage that pursues God, serves each other and does things in the right order. 00;11;48;05 - 00;12;03;13 Unknown Man, I bet I bet you'll have a good sex life that comes out of that. Come a bet. There'll be some happiness in seasons. Happiness is not a promise. It's an emotional standing. But joy will come from it. So come on. I know is a roundabout way of answering your question, but the man who's disqualifying themselves is going well. 00;12;03;13 - 00;12;20;04 Unknown I'm not going to mind if I didn't have abs at 13. I'm never going to get him. Maybe you inherited the bad, but you probably got some inheritance I got. My dad was an athlete. I inherited some good discipline from my dad. My dad was not a financial guy. My dad still was. Probably never made $1 million collectively, up to the age he's at now. 00;12;20;07 - 00;12;40;25 Unknown And yet I inherited a lot of good discipline from him. So for the men that inherited some good disciplines, or they learned them financially, that can translate into the financial realm. I'm sorry, out of the financial realm, into the fitness realm, if you develop a vision of who you want to be and why, and it has to be higher than just the base level, I'd like to have abs, or I'd like to be, quote unquote, a little healthier. 00;12;40;27 - 00;12;55;06 Unknown I love, I love that speaks a little love. I love what you're saying. And I want to chime off that because for those who are watching, right, like when you're trying to connect with this and you may be thinking, man, like, I'm not an athlete, I'll work at a desk. I don't want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. 00;12;55;06 - 00;13;15;07 Unknown I just want to be healthy. Right? I can connect with that. And I want to share a quick little story about this. So when when I was growing up, my grandmother was the best cook ever. I'm talking about breaking down holidays, man. Like Christmas. Thanksgiving like who? I'm talking about. You get that good southern home kosher green. I mean. 00;13;15;10 - 00;13;30;24 Unknown Yes. Yeah, I know about that life I know. Oh. So, man, I just remember, I just remember, man, being able to consume like. And I had a lot of. So my story is a little different because I feel like there is a combination of some genetics there, and I did I dealt with a lot of health issues internally. 00;13;30;26 - 00;13;48;25 Unknown So physically I was able to just put on the mask and I think, developed the muscle in a way where if you looked at me, you would say, oh, that brother's in great shape. Yeah, but here's what happened. As I began to grow in my football career ended. Now my body starting to show, right? Like the cracks are starting to get exposed. 00;13;48;27 - 00;14;03;03 Unknown And it was showing up in my nutrition. So you might be thinking, well, dang, man, you always had a six pack. But bro, let me tell you, when you get beneath the hood and you look under the surface and I get my blood work done, my blood pressure was creeping up. Right. So I'm eating these good southern home cooked meals. 00;14;03;03 - 00;14;16;01 Unknown I'm eating all this stuff. Right. And I didn't realize the value of nutrition. I'm thinking oh I just burn it off. Yeah I just go to the gym. I just go for another run like let's go get it. It was a simple math equation, a boom calorie in, you burn it calories out. But that's not really the best route, right? 00;14;16;01 - 00;14;32;28 Unknown So when it came down to the discipline, what I learned was that 50 to 80% of your success comes from what you put in your mouth. So you nutrition is the key to unlocking your health. And I didn't recognize that until my blood pressure got out of control. So for three years in a row my blood pressure crept up. 00;14;32;28 - 00;14;46;28 Unknown So I'm in my early 30s and this thing starts to crack now. It's like creeping up. Creeping up. I go to tie my shoes and it's like head rush, like I feel. So I'm like, yo, what is going on? Get my blood work done. Blood pressure like 140 over 90. I'm like, dang good. Blood pressure's 1 to 1 over eight. 00;14;47;00 - 00;15;02;12 Unknown So for three years I filled with that. And then my wife's a registered dietitian. Registered nutritionist. She's like, hey, baby, have you ever thought about doing Whole Foods plant based? And I'm like, plant based girl, I need meat. What you talking about? Yeah, yeah, well, she snuck it in there. She didn't say going vegan. She said Whole Foods. 00;15;02;12 - 00;15;17;13 Unknown Yeah, whole foods plant are going to sound off. Yeah. It's okay. That sounds so bad. What? Yeah. It's like I'm like, okay, my wife, I'm like, she was serious. Like, she's like, no, there's a lot of pro athletes that are doing that. I really think you should consider it. And she kind of left it alone. So she gave me a list of all these different people. 00;15;17;16 - 00;15;30;22 Unknown She's like, hey, Tom Brady's done some stuff with this. The Williams sisters, Serena and Venus and anyway, she just keeps going on this list. She shows me all his NFL players. So I'm like, all right, you know what I'll do? I'll try it out for seven. What did you just say? Tom Brady is vegan. I did not say that, bro. 00;15;30;23 - 00;15;50;03 Unknown Oh, you said that. Oh go go go. You said that. I said that he's heavily into his nutrition. I alluded to that from the perspective of he's done some things in that space. Yeah. He's got like a kind of water machine, like he's down and he had a nutritional plan at the beginning of his career and literally had a joke mapped out 20 years. 00;15;50;06 - 00;16;11;18 Unknown So when you talk about discipline, like I think he looks better in his 40s than he did when the first Tb12 method he does in the back half of his career, he does more flexibility in plyometrics training than he does strength or cardio training. Yeah. Man off tangent. So yeah. So anyway to make my point, she's showing me all these different athletes that I'm able to relate to. 00;16;11;20 - 00;16;26;27 Unknown And I'm like, man, I'm willing to I'm willing to give it a shot. So anyway, I did it for seven days and my blood pressure for the first time shot down to like 1 to 7 days in seven days. Wow. By the vegan diet this was. Yeah, vegan is different. So it is actually a whole foods plant based. 00;16;26;28 - 00;16;46;16 Unknown What is the difference? So the difference you got you got vegetarian vegan hopefully playmates. Let me explain the difference. So vegetarian they will do no meat but they'll do still do eggs cheese. Yep. Okay then you have vegan right. So you can still you do obviously no meat, no dairy, no eggs, no cheat. No, no cheese, no animal product. 00;16;46;17 - 00;17;05;07 Unknown No. But you can still do, like, beer, like Oreo cookies. Like there's stuff that you still can eat where you're very unhealthy. Yeah. And you're, like, bingeing on, like, French fries at McDonald's, right. Because it's just not got it. So vegan is not necessarily the best route. Okay. Whole foods is you're focusing on foods that are whole, whole foods that are living foods. 00;17;05;08 - 00;17;26;11 Unknown Okay. So you're not eating garbage just because it's not meat, dairy, animal products. You're focusing on a whole foods living foods. So your your your salad, your beans or legumes, your grains or key was your smoothies, your kale, like so you're focusing on these, living rich foods. So we leaned in heavily on the Whole Foods. And like I said, seven days later, bang. 00;17;26;13 - 00;17;45;03 Unknown And my my skin cleared up. I had a lot of allergy issues. All that stuff just disappeared. Wow. Immediately. So for me, I had allergies as well. Yeah, man. So I had really bad allergies, seasonal allergies, all of that stuff just just dissipate it. And I was like, wow. So I had really bad like acne back and like all that kind of stuff. 00;17;45;05 - 00;18;03;24 Unknown So for me, my journey was a little different because physically, God is God gifted me with the ability and I've talked to work very hard. I still have to work. I work out six days a week like it is a lifestyle, not a one time event. But I recognize the value of the nutrition. And where I'm going with this is that even though someone may look good on the surface, even you might look good on the surface. 00;18;03;26 - 00;18;18;28 Unknown What you're putting in your mouth has a significant impact on your health. Yeah, and it's the same thing in terms of what you're feeding yourself and how you spend your time daily. When it comes to your finances, it has a significant impact on your legacy financially as well. But the discipline is the same. So for me, that's what shifted me. 00;18;19;00 - 00;18;37;11 Unknown And, now it's in my 40s. Like I say, I still feel grateful. Like a million bucks. Is it hard to get full eating? I eat as much as I want, man. Yeah. All day, every day. I get questions on the veganism. Yeah. Go ahead. Well, my brother went full send for three years into that world. 00;18;37;18 - 00;18;56;07 Unknown He had it helped in some of the symptoms he had, like what he was experiencing in his body, other things he didn't notice an improvement. So I think there's also variation in blood type in the ways that it affects different bodies. That is. Yeah. Because I've I've done some steps towards that. And I'm not saying you're making a case for it. 00;18;56;14 - 00;19;13;08 Unknown I see that it's really work for me. That's a great it's effective for me. And I keep so there's there's different ways to dive in and finding the right style of food and types of food for your blood type. And that's kind of a debate on meat versus what we call vegan. But what you've clarified is your Whole Foods based. 00;19;13;11 - 00;19;33;08 Unknown Yes, more so than your the vegan category, because I have seen some very unhealthy vegan. Exactly. Do you think they are pursuing a path of the best health? Like all of us here, we're we're the high achievers. Like I'm going to go for the thing that's got the biggest bang for my book. I don't care if it's going to take a little bit more work, if it's going to make me healthier, it's going to increase my profitability. 00;19;33;08 - 00;19;56;17 Unknown If I'm going to do better in some metric, cool. I'm going that path. Yeah. And so if you told me veganism is the way that's going to make you healthier, bro, I don't care if it doesn't have a cool stereotype around it in a manly man sense. Shoot, I'm gonna go for it. But it isn't. Cut and paste black and white on how it does or does not improve your lifestyle and the quality of your health, unless you get more in the space where you're doing Whole Foods. 00;19;56;17 - 00;20;14;15 Unknown Because the great thing you said is a vegan can still drink Coke and eat Oreos and certain things I don't mess with. And French fries and Mickey D's. I haven't eaten Mickey D's in 15 years. Yes. Can I touch that? Can we quickly pivot? Because it's also not just the foods itself, but it's the oils that things are being cooked with. 00;20;14;17 - 00;20;36;07 Unknown Something that your seed oil. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. I think it's really important that our audience is informed about the danger of seed oils. Yeah, right. We're talking your canola oil, your vegetable oil, your soybean oil, your corn oils. Right. And that the benefits. And just like in my own life, when we sweat, I mean, I eat meat, but I only eat if possible. 00;20;36;07 - 00;21;06;16 Unknown We cook a lot at home, 100% grass fed beef. We live in Texas. And so I can go to the farm and I can get me some real cow. Right. And so and it's not expensive grass fed, you know, it's like ten bucks for a, you know, a great ribeye steak, 100% grass fed, you know, and, and er chilled chicken versus chicken that comes in water if you get chicken from the store and it's water, most of it, if not all that you're going to find in your big box grocery stores is washed and chlorine, it's in chlorinated water. 00;21;06;16 - 00;21;22;11 Unknown I didn't know it's crazy. Yep. And yep. And if you think about it like, you know, I've done a lot of time in research in the functional medicine space. Shout out to Coach Thomas Bills. I got to give Coach Thomas a setup because he really got me on this kick to be honest. And drinking reverse osmosis water, the fluoride in our water. 00;21;22;13 - 00;21;38;24 Unknown There's other things in our water that are not being filtered out. Right. And water is a huge topic. Yeah, yeah, 100%. I mean do you how are you guys pretty strict with your water intake. Yeah, I'm talking about well studied in that I have a water machine that. Yeah I do want to reference earlier what is it. What is it called. 00;21;38;27 - 00;22;03;25 Unknown It's an alkaline machine that basically uses electrified plates to help alkaline water, which means raise the pH of it, along with break the H2O molecules down into a smaller cluster and help them make makes it more absorbable in your body. But that's that's getting off into some weeds. And it's also debatable on some of the the actual claimed health benefits. 00;22;03;25 - 00;22;21;07 Unknown What's the best water to do? So for the most part, what you're looking for is what's your water source coming from? Is it city water? You can look this up online for your city and the place you live. Is it well water? Is it mountain runoff? And I lived in Norway. Most of the water was coming from beautiful pristine mountain runoff from snow. 00;22;21;14 - 00;22;46;23 Unknown And you could drink that without a problem. But in the bigger cities they recycle and refurbish a lot of the water. So what goes into your toilet and the birth control that women use and other you said is hormone inducing? Not so much supplements, but prescription drugs that are being taken. They go into a water supply and they get recirculated, and those things don't get filtered out in the processing of your water plant, water treatment facilities. 00;22;46;29 - 00;23;10;22 Unknown So when that gets pumped back into your water supply, we absorb that stuff. Even if you have a little Brita filter, those little crappy ones that people fill up from their sink and put it in their fridge, that removes 1% and it removes some bigger, substances and contaminations, but it doesn't strip out the the base stuff like we talked about fluoride, chlorine in your water. 00;23;10;25 - 00;23;27;07 Unknown So we shouldn't go in all the depths of water other than if you're listening to this and you've never thought twice about what you drink as far as water and sources, you should just get curious on that. Yeah, curious. There's a whole world of water city water. But the most important is living water. Yes, the Lord Jesus Christ. 00;23;27;07 - 00;23;47;00 Unknown If you don't know the answer, that's true. Yeah. One thing I want to say on that, too, is there's a couple of other factors here. So like the reverse osmosis, that's just something to be aware of that. So if you're in a place where the water is horrible right. And reverse osmosis is all that's available, I think that reverse osmosis is a good option, in that situation, because it's going to pull everything bad but you to. 00;23;47;03 - 00;24;00;20 Unknown But here's the thing. You got to understand that with reverse osmosis that it not only pulls all the bad things from a water pool, some of the good, it pulls the good things too. So water has a memory, and when you consume it, what's going to happen is it's going to pull it from your body. Yeah. It's hungry. 00;24;00;20 - 00;24;22;23 Unknown So it is. And that water is going to find it. And what's most likely going to happen is going to pull it from your bones. And, and now you're going to have issues. So there's you can do your own research on this. But there are implications of some major health concerns that have come from athletes, especially if you're an athlete who was competing and drinking reverse osmosis water and you're not able to actually properly hydrate. 00;24;22;25 - 00;24;38;18 Unknown So so do your research on that. Be well informed about that and understand how it significantly impacts your body from a reverse osmosis perspective, because there's pros and cons to that. Now, in regards to the, the cooking and water, that's something that we've done. We've got an extra five on one we had. Yeah 15. So that alkalis is your water. 00;24;38;18 - 00;24;57;22 Unknown So yeah. So the way it works is it comes, you know, from the city into the machine. It's got some standard filter that uses charcoal activated charcoal to, to pull out chlorine and fluoride. Yes. It'll pull those things out. And then there's some, there's some electrolyte plates inside of it. The water runs through the plates okay. And then it alkalis. 00;24;57;22 - 00;25;15;06 Unknown The water changed the pH. So your average city water is going to probably be seven, six, seven somewhere in that range, depending on how good the water is. We're just going to raise the pH level up to like 9.5. Right. So the scale goes from 0 to 14. But for the war to be alkaline our bodies are 6,070% water. 00;25;15;08 - 00;25;48;27 Unknown So if you have a if you have a, a framework in your body of acidity based on the amount of water that's inside, it's going to lead to you being much, much more susceptible to sickness and disease. Okay. But if you can change the alkalinity in your body to change the pH, to move that needle closer to more alkalinity, then the likelihood of sickness and disease will be much less so 60 to 70% of your body being water. 00;25;49;02 - 00;26;09;15 Unknown And with an environment that is now alkaline, it removes the opportunity for sickness and disease to be more prevalent in your body. So I really love the machine from that perspective, because it really does give you, the opportunity to live a healthier, stronger life. So with the water, really, really important to understand what you're putting in your body, how it impacts you, your energy levels, your brain. 00;26;09;15 - 00;26;25;14 Unknown Like if you are like 1 or 2% dehydrated, it can affect you to have headaches. So you walk away with a headache, you're taking a pill. But the question is, are you really dehydrated? Yeah. Like you're always hungry, but are you really hungry or are you dehydrated? Dehydrated. 100%. Great point. And so I know I want to talk about this. 00;26;25;14 - 00;26;45;17 Unknown I want to talk about what are some like easy tips for the guy that's listening. He's not working out. He knows he's overweight. He's not in shape. Right. What are are some changes that he can make right now to get him on a journey? What are the most important things to right. Because you can like like you said earlier, you can look great on the outside but have high blood pressure on the inside and under the engine. 00;26;45;19 - 00;27;03;13 Unknown Right. And so who cares? It's it's better to be healthy internally. And how making these health changes, these minor changes right now that can make a big impact. And how it kind of makes everything else easier in your life. Yeah. Let me let me jump in on this man, because I feel like God took me down a pretty significant path on this when it came down to the value of health. 00;27;03;16 - 00;27;25;00 Unknown Right. So I'll start with this question. Do you know how many cars the average American has in a lifetime? Three. What do you think? I don't know, I would guess seven, 10 to 12. The average American does a really good job keeping the car clean, right? Like, I know you keep your will clean, Matt. Oh, thanks. 00;27;25;04 - 00;27;41;25 Unknown You rolled up like. Yeah, I could definitely see the ninja work. Yes. What number of vehicles? I'm on it for years. All my cards of 2015, by the way. Okay, okay. Guess guess what number I'm on. Do you actually count how many? I know how many vehicles I've owned and used? Yes, yes. Okay. Egg thing one I just have trying to give you a vehicle. 00;27;41;25 - 00;27;59;03 Unknown I give you a compliment. Oh, no. Okay. Eight. What do you think? Okay. I'm three. Okay. I'm on my second vehicle. Oh. See, I was 250,000 miles on my 2008 GMC Sierra. I love it, man. Yeah. Anyway, you take care of it. Well, go back on. Tell my point. My point is this. We take really good care of our vehicles, right? 00;27;59;03 - 00;28;19;11 Unknown Yes. Like some have. Yes I do, they take way better care than others, apparently. But here's the deal. How many bodies do you get in a lifetime. Come on. One not eight. So so so my my point here. Reborn baby. Hallelujah. Let's go. You get one body. So the question is are you taking as good a care of the one body you get as you do your vehicles. 00;28;19;14 - 00;28;31;09 Unknown Oh come on y'all got that little sticker in the corner, right? You just ride up once a week, you keep the wheels clean. Just hit that car wash, roll through, hit the quick vacuum. Your wheels are shiny. You ready to rock and roll? But are you taking the same time to invest in your physical body the same way? 00;28;31;12 - 00;28;47;15 Unknown So no matter where you are right now, you may be obese, overweight, discouraged, whatever. The thing is, you can start today. So I gave you an illustration of when I was 13, and I would just wake up and get down. We call it a rock 300, right? Start, start where you are. Can you do 100 pushups? Can you do 100 sit ups? 00;28;47;15 - 00;29;03;28 Unknown Can you do 100 air squats? If the answer is no, no shame, get curious about that. Start where you are. Start with ten, maybe five. Maybe you can only do five. Start today. Yeah, literally do five pushups. Five air squats. Get your body moving. Do you have any bones? Or in a body? In a physical? In a human body? 00;29;04;00 - 00;29;27;19 Unknown I don't remember, I used to I tell us, okay, so when you're born I believe it's two well over 200. Yeah, I know it well over 200 bones. Okay. Closer to like 300. I think it's like 270 bones. If I remember correctly, as a baby, I'm. As you grow into an adult, guess how many bones you have? Half that there. 00;29;27;19 - 00;29;44;06 Unknown No, there to that age, 26. You know it drops because they consolidate. Wow. Yes. And the reason why is because some of the bones fuze. Right. But why did I give you all those bones? Why did they give you over 200 bones in your body? Flexibility, range of motion to move, to move, to move. That's the purpose of the bones, right. 00;29;44;06 - 00;30;02;29 Unknown So he's gifted you with the ability to move. And the question is what are you moving for? What are you moving toward? Yeah. What is the vision in which you're going to use this amazing vehicle that God has given you? So a Bugatti costs anywhere from 3 to 5 million, right? Super fancy vehicle. What? We agree. Yeah. Amazing. 00;30;02;29 - 00;30;18;04 Unknown Sounds like a bad investment. Yeah, yeah, nobody said it was an investment. I said it was a vehicle. No, I never said so. So just throw that out there. Yeah. So this car is super expensive, super amazing. Does all these crazy things. Goes from 0 to 60. Yeah. Like what a like a second. Right, right right. Like zero. 00;30;18;04 - 00;30;38;07 Unknown Boom. Yeah. So so that's $1 million car, million dollar vehicle. And God's given you $1 million billion dollar body. Billion dollar. Yeah. Billion dollar body. So what I say is do you recognize the value of the vehicle that you've been given? Number one. And if you do then you know, that guy's giving you that for a bigger purpose. 00;30;38;12 - 00;30;55;06 Unknown Now you can steward it at a higher level. And it's not about having a six pack on the beach. It's not about being able to flex and, you know, look good with your shirt off. Sun's out, guns out. We're just talking about you having the energy and the ability to show up and be the man or the person that God has called you to be. 00;30;55;08 - 00;31;10;22 Unknown And being functional with the quantity of time and making it quality time with the body that God has given you. Sounds like what need said about what is your wife working out. And then that'll become a byproduct. Then you will have the abs on the beach and then you will. And then you're going to have a better sex life. 00;31;10;29 - 00;31;40;25 Unknown Yeah. Right. Would you guys both agree that the better your fitness life, the better your marriage, the better your sex life, the better your business functions. I 100% agree with that, because I feel like when you are confident in yourself, it exudes fills the atmosphere. It changes the room. And I heard this stat I don't have a source for it, that sex and great sex with your spouse is more about how you feel about yourself than the other person. 00;31;40;27 - 00;31;57;18 Unknown Well, so if you think about it right, like if your wife is shutting off the lights and she's uncomfortable and she doesn't want to put on lingerie and stuff like that, it's not because she's not attracted to you is because she doesn't feel comfortable in her own skin. But when you've been working out you been exercising and taking good care of yourself. 00;31;57;21 - 00;32;13;24 Unknown You don't mind like little flicking lights on. Let's go baby I'm here. Let's do this like you're ready because you feel confident who you are. So it gives you a confidence and your serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine to get released into your bloodstream. Those are antidepressants. So if you're struggling with depression, hey, this is your antidepressant. Go workout. Go for a walk. 00;32;13;24 - 00;32;33;15 Unknown Go go to the gym. Yeah, it's going to help you show up better when you need to lead. And that healthy confidence is not being conceited. If you were raised in the the good old church club of religion, you were probably taught like I was, that any measure of improving your physical looks is conceited. It's ego, it's pride. 00;32;33;17 - 00;32;51;03 Unknown There is a healthy level of stewardship that has some great side effects and side benefits of you have an increased level of confidence and healthy pride. You should have some measure of like taking pride in what you do. Like you clean your car well, I'm proud of how it looks. I'm proud of you son. For your kids, there's a healthy level of pride and then there's the egotistical side that God says. 00;32;51;03 - 00;33;07;09 Unknown He rejects the proud and he gives grace to the humble. So I think as you're speaking to that confidence, I mean, it's so true because it shows up everywhere, even if you're doing I mean, for some of the guys that need to gain some confidence, you need to put yourself into a gym situation, into a little bit of a workout routine and not get overwhelmed by it. 00;33;07;09 - 00;33;24;26 Unknown So you said the Rock 100, it was it 300 and the fitness challenge there. If you don't do any of that stuff right now, you can do what I encourage my wife to do. When we started off the new year and we took a few weeks to jump ahead of this, so we started mid December. We're going to wake, I said, we're going to wake up, we're going to make up our bed. 00;33;24;26 - 00;33;43;13 Unknown We're going to say the Lord's Prayer. I'm going to do as many push ups as we can do on the side of our bed. And she was post-pregnancy. That's what we did. I think she started with about five and five push ups. After about 35 days, she was up to 35 push ups. That's my wife and she's not an athlete. 00;33;43;15 - 00;34;01;28 Unknown She's never really played sports. She's not the the athletic type I am. So I was hitting 40 and then I was up to 60 something, which is an amazing and isn't bad. The point being, you can start anywhere you are. That's right. And just build your capacity. And you'd be amazed at what happens in 30 days. So be willing to step in. 00;34;01;28 - 00;34;23;18 Unknown Don't compare yourself to where Coach Monroe currently is or where he started you. You run your race and you get in your game. Amen. I want to share a little story about this. So I was working in health and wanted issue for a while, and we were, doing we had this little weightwatchers group that were meet, and there was a lady who was highlighted for the month who was extremely overweight, surely obese, and she set a goal to be able to do a marathon. 00;34;23;18 - 00;34;41;01 Unknown She couldn't. She literally could not walk to her mailbox outside from her door to her mailbox without bending over and being out of breath. Wow. So the next day she said, okay, I'm going to walk. Not to my mailbox without bending over, but I'm going to walk to my mailbox and then down to the stop sign. So she walked to the mailbox and she walked down to the stop sign, and she walked back home. 00;34;41;03 - 00;34;56;13 Unknown The next day, she's like, all right, I'm going to walk past my mailbox, past the stop sign. I'm going to walk to the next street over. Sounds like an atomic boom. And next thing you know, she not only did her first five K, but then she came back and did a ten K, did she actually ran a marathon and became an ultra marathoner? 00;34;56;19 - 00;35;25;29 Unknown Wow. True story about a woman who literally couldn't make it to her mailbox, lost well over 100 plus pounds and became an inspiration like sensation, inspiration. So it is possible. But it all starts with the decision and you can make that decision today. Amen. So it sounds like small steps lead to compound interest. And the same way that money goes, a small investment here in the, Jordan Peterson once said that like, people don't take the first step because it's so embarrassing about how small that step is. 00;35;26;02 - 00;35;45;17 Unknown Right? And if you're watching this podcast and you're, you know, very overweight, very obese, you're embarrassed by yourself when you look in the mirror and things like that and you're like, what's the point of me getting down on the floor and doing five pushups? And there's this guy that my wife and I love. And I want to ask you guys how you encourage your wife to workout. 00;35;45;18 - 00;36;06;27 Unknown Maybe if she doesn't want to meet you there. But like, he does five sets of five. Stay in pocket. That's what he says. He's he's from Philadelphia. He's very, very Philly in his lingo. He's like, come on, faster to stay in pocket. And it's it it's five look it's five push ups five toe touches each side five jumping jacks right. 00;36;06;29 - 00;36;22;23 Unknown Five, five air squats and five burpees. And that's it. If you could do those five to start today. So as we close I want to ask one thing from you guys. If you can say one, just one, not not a few, but one thing that the person is listening to. So listen all the way to the end. 00;36;22;25 - 00;36;39;04 Unknown What's the one thing, the most important thing that you would say to somebody that wants to get in shape right now, that they're sick of it and they have that? Why? Right, to get their wife out of a burning building or whatever it might be, or defend their children. Right. What is that first step that they could do? 00;36;39;07 - 00;37;00;13 Unknown One thing, Nate. And you can't put a one thing on me like that. I actually, I don't believe in the one thing. There's a perspective change that has to happen and be willing to get in the game wherever you are. And it will require you to focus on every aspect of your life with what you drink, what you eat, and how you move. 00;37;00;15 - 00;37;18;19 Unknown So we'll make it three things. Pay attention to what you're drinking. If you drink a lot of sweets sugars beverages like that switched you can I do flavored water. If you're already down to flavored water start focusing on what type of water you're taking in. Is it city water that's unfiltered? What does it look like to be filtered? 00;37;18;19 - 00;37;37;21 Unknown Just do a quick Google search. You don't have to have deep vetted research. Just start questioning on what is reverse osmosis on your food. Let's go back to what Coach Monroe said. Whether or not you go meat or vegan, just start thinking about other more than 4 or 5 six, seven, eight ingredients. On the back of this label, I look for single source ingredients. 00;37;37;23 - 00;37;52;17 Unknown So I'm reading it and like, oh, this, the ingredient is potatoes. Great, I'll cook that. I can't pronounce it, probably shouldn't eat it, right? So for the most part. So just just work on reducing that. And then what are you doing to move if you're already in that space and you're working out pretty consistently, where can I set a bigger vision and up my challenge? 00;37;52;22 - 00;38;13;11 Unknown If you're afraid to step into this game, then maybe it's back to this inspirational story of a lady that walked to the mailbox and back, and then she increased it step by step. Just put the shoes on, man. So I get inspired by something I got inspired. I saw American Ninja Warrior and yes, it's out there. I was a 28 year old desk jockey and I went for it, and I became successful in it, and it took longer than I thought it would. 00;38;13;18 - 00;38;32;12 Unknown And it was painful and yet incredible experience sets your sight on something that scares you and inspires you, and then you'll figure out the practical steps along the way. That's my encouragement. Go for something bigger than you think is possible that excites you. It still seems like it's in the realm of possibility. Keep it. Keep it realistic, man. 00;38;32;14 - 00;38;49;02 Unknown Don't you think so? I'm going to. I'm going to give you the one thing I'm going to answer the question. Here we go. And this somebody will. Yeah I'm going to do it. I'm going to wrap in a little story to do that. Is that okay. Yeah sure. All right. Perfect. So my football career is over. 00;38;49;05 - 00;39;13;17 Unknown I'm training in the hottest part of the day. It's about 1:00. The sun's directly overhead with the humidity. It's like 105 degrees outside. I have no water. I'm angry because my football career is over, and I've been putting in all this work to literally turn my body into a weapon so that I can perform at the highest level in the NFL. 00;39;13;20 - 00;39;34;21 Unknown And all that's done. And I'm still doing the same things I was doing when I was training. I'm like, why? I'm literally in the middle of this field. I'm like, Lord, why? Why am I here? Why am I doing this? Why did I spend all this time? What is blood, sweat and tears to get to this point? And it was in this moment where God gave me a clear vision of why it's important to take care of my health. 00;39;34;21 - 00;39;54;20 Unknown Because I was ready to be done. I was ready to become a couch potato like eat bonbons every sweet and salty snack I could find and just be like, forget working out. I'm never going to get. And the Lord said, Mondo, I want you to be first Thessalonians 523 now make me your whole spirit, soul, and body be made blameless before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 00;39;54;22 - 00;40;21;14 Unknown All those years of training, son, all those moments. The five five stay in the pocket, the do the next thing with the water, do all of that is for you to be able to do the thing that I've called you to do. Yeah. With the one body that I've given you. Yeah. And to develop the discipline that would transcend every other area of your life, I've developed in you virtue, discipline, fortitude, a mindset, a mental toughness. 00;40;21;16 - 00;40;37;18 Unknown And that is going to translate for you to fulfill the calling I placed on your life. So as you're watching this, you're thinking, man, like, where do I start? Why is this important? I want you to understand that that shifted my entire perspective and it was from that moment that I recognized that no matter where I'm at, no matter what changes my body is going through. 00;40;37;21 - 00;41;04;21 Unknown Because when you look in the mirror, that's not the real you. When you read first Thessalonians 523, you are a spirit. You have a soul, and you live in a body. Yeah, but if you want to function on this earth, you got to take care of that body, because without it, you can't be here anymore. So if it's one thing, the one thing is this just simply get 1% better for the next 100 days, and in 100 days you will be more than 100% better. 00;41;04;24 - 00;41;29;07 Unknown Amen. I love that. Thank you, gentlemen. And in closing, so just to recap some of the things. So start perspective, get a why. Why do you want to start and just move move your body. Check your water whether you're drinking alkaline water versus motors. Reverse osmosis water. But if you drink reverse osmosis water make sure to re mineralized it. 00;41;29;09 - 00;41;52;16 Unknown But something like Baja Gold sea salt or Celtic sea salt, it's not that expensive. But you have to analyze it, and read the ingredients on the back and stuff and just move your body. God gave you a body to move. He called you for something better.
