Hey church family. I'm back again with another devotional. Today I am talking about Jesus, how Jesus feeds the 5,000. Um, which is in which is in all of the Gospels, but the one I am going to be kind of going through is John 6. So we know that Jesus, no, we know that a boy came to Jesus with five loaves of bread and two fish. And the disciple, you know, Jesus asked the disciples to find food, and they found this boy with, you know, only five loaves of bread and two fish. Growing up with this story, I don't think I really realized how incredible and amazing this miracle is. Like it truly is a miracle that Jesus fed not only 5,000, but it said 5,000 people, not including women and children, which is like crazy awesome. But the the two things I want to point out about this story in this devotional is first, I loved how Jesus grabbed the bread and he lifted his head up and he thanked God for the bread. And then he grabbed the fish and did the exact same thing with the fish. He thanked God for the little that they had. And I personally think that he was not just thanking God for the little that he had, but he was thanking him in advance because Jesus knew what was going to happen, right? Which is just amazing. So are we thanking God for the small things in our lives that he has already provided us? Because I think in a world of bigger and better, we just want to ask, keep asking for more, which is good and great. But before we ask for more, are we thanking God for what we already have? Are we thanking God for what he has already done in our lives? Even if it seems just, you know, little and not so big. Like, are we thanking God for the little things? And the second thing that I want to point out is Jesus could have done anything. Like he could have snapped his finger and had stakes for everyone, right? Like he is the creator and he could have ordered the birds to deliver all of the food to everyone. But instead of Jesus snapping his finger to have all the food and sending birds to deliver, he wanted to partner with his children. He wanted that boy to be a part of his miracle. He wanted the disciples to be apart, so he ordered them to, you know, deliver the food. He wants us to be apart. God doesn't need us. Like he doesn't, period. God doesn't need us, but he wants us. He wants to partner with us. I don't know about you, but I would most likely like to be with someone who doesn't just need me, but wants me. And that's God. He doesn't need us, but he wants us. He doesn't need us to be a part of anything, but he wants us to be a part. And so when we partner with God, we get to experience the miracles. We get to experience, you know, the amazing works that God does. And so by us getting to experience and partnering with God, when you experience a miracle, it shifts your perspective. When you ex, you know, when you experience a miracle, your perspective shifts and you learn more about God's character and you fall deeper in love with Jesus. You do. It's a fact. But God won't just give you what you need, but He will provide more than enough with the little you started with. So if God, if God is asking you, right? If He if He's been asking you to give something or start something, and you're like, but God, I I don't have enough to do it, or God, I don't know how to start, or I don't really know what it looks like. And God's like, just come with what you already have, and He will make more than enough. Like He did with the story of they ate so much food, but He had more than enough left over. 12 baskets full of food left over. That's how generous and that's how amazing our God is. So whatever you have, and you it might not seem like a lot, just be obedient and give it to the Lord because He will make, I mean, trust me, if He can make five loaves of bread and two fish feed more than 5,000 people, He can make whatever, you know, you have or whatever you have multiply into something amazing and could be a testimony of a miracle that God will do. So let me just pray for you guys. Dear Jesus, I just thank you for whoever's watching. Lord, I just pray that you just give them the strength and boldness to whatever they need to give or lay down. Lord, I just pray that you give them strength too. It may not feel like enough, but Lord, that you, because of you, you make all everything we do, all of our things and everything. You make it enough. You are enough. So I just pray that we will just have surrender hearts, that you will just search our hearts. Lord, we just thank you for the miracles that we read about and the miracles that you're doing and that you're going to do. Lord, I just, I thank you for the little things. I thank you for the big things, and I thank you for what you're going to do. Lord, you are so good. We give you all the glory in Jesus' name. Amen.
