Judges 14:5 Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother. When he got to the vineyards of Timnah, a young lion came at him, roaring. 6 The Spirit of GOD came on him powerfully and he ripped it open barehanded, like tearing a young goat. But he didn’t tell his parents what he had done.

This was an ambush against Samson. An ambush is a trap or sudden and surprise attack the enemy uses to waylay us in our journey with Jesus. The enemy can strike unexpectedly and aggressively. A young lion roared against him – a young lion is a strong lion – Samson knew he was in for a good fight but he wasn’t going to let this young lion keep him from receiving his desire.

As Christians we are in a battle as recorded 1Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The Bible says in Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” How do we survive and thrive in the midst of a seemingly destructive enemy that Jesus sends us in the midst of? This sermon cautions us to beware of three areas the enemy tries to take advantage of to ambush and get us off track with God. Grear faith is the products of great fights! 2Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
