Danny Powell honored for his 10 state titles

Former Leroy and Jackson coach Danny Powell — who won state titles in football and baseball for a total of 10 — and UMS-Wright football coach Terry Curtis — who won eight state championships at the school — have been named recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Alabama Football Coaches Association. Powell and Curtis will be honored at the ALFCA Coach of the Year banquet on Jan. 31 at The Embassy Suites in Montgomery.
