JACKSON — Audra Howell Raybon was elected Jackson’s second female mayor Tuesday by decisively defeating Eldridge Jackson Jr. in a runoff. Raybon received 886 votes to Jackson’s 669. Jackson carried district 1 but Raybon secured victories in district 2 (379 votes to 141) and district 3 (400 to 234) and had an 87-75 edge in absentee ballots. “I’m incredibly honored that the citizens of Jackson have chosen me to be their next mayor,” Raybon said.
