Heavy haul to shut down U.S. 84

Move to cause detours JACKSON — A massive boiler bound for Georgia-Pacific’s Alabama River Cellulose mill in Perdue Hill will be transported from Jackson this week, causing overnight traffic closures along U.S. Highway 84. The boiler is part of Georgia-Pacific’s 0 million expansion at the Monroe County facility, which the company says will make it the largest softwood pulp mill in the United States.
