Climb honors 9/11 responders

Members of the Clarke County Sheriff ’s Department, Jackson Police Department and Clarke County Emergency Management Agency came together on Sept. 11 to participate in the 9/11 Memorial Climb Challenge at North Jackson Skipper Fire Station. The annual challenge requires participants to ascend 110 flights of stairs, representing the climb made by firefighters and emergency personnel who rushed into the World Trade Center towers during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City.
