Elmore retires from Forestry

After four decades of service to Alabama’s forests and communities, Grove Hill native Benji Elmore has retired from the Alabama Forestry Commission. Elmore, who served as the Southwest Regional forester, concluded a 40-year career marked by dedication, leadership and a deep commitment to protecting Alabama’s natural resources. “We want to honor the incredible legacy he leaves behind at the agency,” the commission said in a statement. “After 40 years of faithful service, he has decided to hang up his hard hat and fire boots and enjoy his retirement.
