Lots of open seats for statewide votes

Because of term limits and officials seeking a different office, many major Alabama statewide offices on the ballot this year will not feature an incumbent. The offices with open seats include governor, lieutenant governor, the U.S. Senate, attorney general, secretary of state, commissioner of agriculture and industries and state auditor.
