Clarke County families can receive free books for their children through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program delivered locally by United Way of Southwest Alabama that helps children build early reading skills before entering kindergarten. The program sends one free, age-appropriate book each month to children from birth until their fifth birthday. Each book arrives addressed to the child and becomes part of the child’s personal home library.
