JACKSON — The newly established ambulance service in Jackson appears to be performing well, Councilmember Bobby Brooks reported at the March 10 council meeting. Brooks, who serves on the Jackson Healthcare Authority, said the ambulance service which began operating locally six months ago responded to 122 calls in February. “They’re doing a good job for us,” he said. “That number of calls shows the need for that type of service in our city.” The primary care clinic operated by Dr. Ikram Hussain has temporarily relocated to a modular building in front of the hospital campus, causing some patients to mistakenly...
