E911 turnover draws county concern

GROVE HILL — Concern about frequent turnovers of E911 dispatchers was voiced in Tuesday’s Clarke County Commission work session. Commissioner Jackie Ray Rush said the department has the biggest turnover in the courthouse and Commission Chairman Rhondel Rhone agreed, saying the county has a “huge investment” in training dispatchers only to see them resign after a short time on the job. Rush said in a recent period the turnover was 40 to 15. “It is a hard job … (and) not for everybody,” said E911 dispatch supervisor Susanna Few, who added it is hard mentally with people calling in emergencies...
