Beacon Data Centers is proposing a billion technology campus in northern Mobile County that company officials said would create hundreds of permanent jobs and position Alabama as a growing hub for digital infrastructure supporting cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The proposed Calvert Infrastructure Hub would occupy approximately 95 acres of a 650-acre tract between U.S. Highway 43 and Shepard House Road in Calvert. The remaining property would remain largely undisturbed as managed timberland and natural buffer areas, according to the company.
