JACKSON — Downtown Jackson was filled with school colors, music, food and community pride on Aug. 7 as the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Spirit Night, the final First Friday event of the summer. Students, athletes, cheerleaders, marching band members, school organizations and families joined beside city hall for an evening celebrating the upcoming school year and the start of football season for Jackson High School and Jackson Academy. Organizations from both schools set up tables downtown, giving students and organizations an opportunity to showcase their groups and raise money.
