County: Powerless on data centers

GROVE HILL — Clarke County Commissioners told a Thomasville resident Tuesday that they are virtually powerless to do anything to stop a data center or anything else that wants to locate in the county. Sven Swanson Jr. voiced concerns about the possibility of a data center locating just outside the Thomasville city limits. “ I think the bad outweighs the good,” he said.
