"What Is The Snake?" | Episode #91 | Builder of All Things | Author’s Cut: Chapter Seven w/ Richie Breaux
Welcome to the Builder of All Things Podcast—where we go beyond the pages of the book and explore into the Author’s Cut! 🔥 Join Richie Breaux and Ray Bisnar as they break down each chapter in micro-episodes, giving you the behind-the-scenes insights, deeper wisdom, and real-life applications—just like a Director’s Cut for a book.
Episode 2 of Chapter 7 takes the conversation deeper — from spiritual symbolism to real-world practicality. In the last episode, we introduced the concept of the snake as one of the “Big 3” forces of adversity (Storms, Snakes, and Smoke). Now, we break down what the snake looks like in real life, and how we’re supposed to respond when it shows up.
🎙️ Richie shares stories, scripture, and insight to help you discern the enemy’s tactics, especially when deception comes through people close to you. Whether it’s an employee acting shady, a friend shifting the truth, or someone stirring division — don’t be fooled: the person isn’t the snake, but the snake may be working through them.
🔥 In this episode:
* What the snake looks like in business, family, and leadership
* How to tell the difference between God’s storm and the enemy’s attack
* Why you never attack the person — or else you're fighting on the enemy’s turf
* The danger of fighting in the flesh vs. elevating like the eagle
* What Jesus meant when He rebuked Peter — and how that applies to us
👀 Real talk, spiritual depth, and leadership clarity all collide here. If you've ever felt betrayed, misjudged, or baited into conflict — this one’s for you.
📖 Stick with us as we continue through Chapter 7 of the book in this Author’s Cut series, and get ready for Episode 3 where we bring it full circle.

And so when you talk about like real world terms and practicality, what would a snake because we have visuals of this and it's great, but what's a real world, what does it look like in the real world? Like what's the right thing? Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00:So if you could recall, like storms are out of our control.
SPEAKER_01:The market shifts, prices go up.
SPEAKER_00:Prices go up. There's just things that God allows. And it's and I again we referred to that as a storm. When it rains, it rains, you can't stop the rain. It's just it's gonna rain. You know, and the wind is is what it is. So when we're looking at the snake, now this is where most times it's from a and I'm still trying to prey on if there's some outside of this, but it usually comes through a person. Yes. It comes through a person, yeah. And it's somebody who's trying to deceive you, yeah. Somebody who's trying to sabotage you, could be a company, could be a client, could be an employee, could be your it could be your partner, it could be your best friend, it could be your brother. It's it's when somebody is coming against your truths, yeah, and trying to shift them and attacking your character, your integrity, these these moral like compasses you have, and they're they're poking at it, there's ways to identify what this is. So I've seen it in employees that are you know trying to create a deceptive lie going around and raising troops up to kind of start its own little company without anybody knowing, yeah, versus just coming to the owner directly and saying, Hey, you know, I I have a desire to start my own company and you know, yeah, just being straight up truth. But the deception starts, then the kind of culture shifts. I seen this, you know, and the snake is just going to work. And so although it's coming through people, it's never the person that's very important to stamp. There was a time in the scriptures where Jesus rebuked Peter. I rebuke you, Satan. Yeah, Peter, Peter would probably have been more. I was like, yeah, what?
SPEAKER_01:Right.
SPEAKER_00:But it was the the whatever, however, the enemy and the snake whispered and and worked through Peter. Yes, it wasn't Peter. You see where I'm going?
SPEAKER_01:So what's the importance of discerning or making sure we don't marry those two together?
SPEAKER_00:Just always love the person, first of all, and always have the lens to look at the person that there is a deception, but it's there's a way to attack the enemy and not the person. And I that's what I want to share. You never attack the person because if you're attacking the person, you're fighting the snake on the ground. Oh, come on. Like the eagle. You're gonna get choked up, man. You don't go to your wife and say, get behind me, Satan. Yeah, sure. Sure. I mean, we're gonna fight if I do that, no matter how how how much the now Jesus probably can do it to Peter. That's a totally different dynamic, you know what I'm saying? But as far as like, because he's God, God in the flesh. But as far as a husband to a wife, I never would say, Hey man, you acting like Satan today. I'm gonna cut the head off. You know, you don't do that. So the person is and can be used as a vessel for the snake to work through, but that doesn't mean attack the person like the snake on the ground, the eagle trying to attack the snake. You will you will lose that war. It will choke you slowly, it will wrap you, it's baiting you in.
