Show Notes Transcript

We’re in a time of high change. I’m also seeing a lot of sales reps unhappy in their jobs today. How stable and happy are your sales team members? Think any of them are actively looking for another job right now? Join me as I share the reality of today’s dissatisfied workers…and what you as their sales manager can do about it before it’s too late!

Hi, Jim Pancero, helping you become a stronger leader of your sales team. Do you have anybody like this on your sales team? Saw a recent study that identified that over half of the workers today are so dissatisfied in their job that they're either actively looking for work or they're sure thinking about it. How stable is your sales team, and what are you doing to make sure you really know where your people are and how satisfied they are in the work that they're doing?

This is a time to discuss how things are going with their life-to-work balance, what's happening with their families, where their energy levels are, how hard the job is right now. It's not just looking at how we could make the job easier and more efficient to make it so we take less time, because some people are working as much as 60 or 80 hours a week, every week in the job because of all the pressures of performance and all the changes that have gone on because of COVID.

My concern is I wouldn't want you to be exposed that you wound up losing a sales rep that you didn't think was in danger of losing, and then be disrupted in that territory for as much as six months while you find a replacement. This is a great time to be having one-on-one conversations with your people, really getting a sense for where they are, where is their frustration level, where's their energy level, how excited are they about the job and what the opportunities are, and what you can do to help assign and assess where their biggest challenges are to see if there's anything that could be done to alieve those stresses so we can make them even more productive.

The reality is we just can't assume today that our sales force is stable because everybody's working and making their numbers. This is a time of high change. So because of that, as managers, this is also a time we need high awareness.
