How many of your retail or dealer customers use displays to increase their sales? Join me as I offer ideas to help you increase the seasonal marketing creativity and effectiveness of your retailers and dealers…so they can sell even more!

Hi, Jim Pancero, helping you become a stronger leader of your sales team. And this message is for those of you that sell through either dealers or retailers in your product lines. If you're selling business to business through a dealer network that has showroom displays or selling to retailers that are retailing to consumers with showroom displays. The reality of the success in selling in those industries is the more creative the displays and the more seasonal, the more interests they generate, the more sales they tend to generate. So success for you in driving these resellers of what you do is you bring them new ideas because I doubt their creativity is going to be enough that they're going to have great displays for all the seasons that their business impacts. This is where you come in.

Had one of my clients did this, they were sold through retailers, I thought it was such a great idea. What they did was for each of the major seasons, whether it was Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Christmas, whatever the holiday was, they held a contest over the entire year for each of those seasons with the idea that their resellers would submit the photos of what their display was and if they picked the most creative displays for that season, and then those people won some prizes. Usually it was just very significantly discounted products or free stuff to pay off for them giving you such a good idea, with the understanding that you can now use that picture to help others. So that next year, when it's time for that season to come up and you're getting prepared for it, you can send out a couple of photos of what others have done last year in that display that created the most energy and excitement so that you can expand that creativity to all of your resellers.

The idea is we need to be bringing them ideas proactively, bringing them ideas to help them increase their selling success and their retailing and their merchandising because this is usually one of the weaker areas for most resellers, no matter what industry you're in. What could you do to start holding contest and to collect these kinds of pictures so that you have a resource base that every season next year, you can send out a couple photos offering ideas of what's a creative solution to increase their displays and hopefully their sales during this upcoming season.

We'd love to know how you've done this and how you conveyed to your resellers ideas to help improve their merchandising and creativity of displays and the seasonality of what they do, because that's going to be one of the major ways we can increase sales.
