I am a 31 year old female who has gone through the process of being diagnosed with ADHD and ASD. This podcast will take you through my journey as I live it. You will get to hear about my story so far; my symptoms, the diagnostic processes I experience and quirky little tales about what has led me to this moment in my life. Whether you have a diagnosis of ADHD and/or ASD, you suspect you may have it, you are curious about the topic, or you are just interested in hearing the life stories of others, please take a listen and join me on my journey! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/adultadhd Instagram: @adult_adhd_asd_journey Facebook: @adultadhdjourney
Adult ADHD/ASD: My Journey of Self-Discovery and Co-Occurring Diagnoses
Episode 12 - You’re Too Much… Dealing with Non-Conformity, Authoritative Figures and My Inability to Handle Rejection
In this episode I discuss LOADS… hands down, it’s my longest yet. Non-conformity and issues surrounding authority figures start the episode off, before I delve into the deep, dark world of rejection. I discuss those three magic words - You’re Too Much - and how I have dealt with that since being diagnosed and medicated. Experiencing an identity crisis last week meant that I was left feeling vulnerable and incredibly heightened - two things that make people Run. For. The. Hills. I discuss how my unrealistic expectations of myself (and others) have caused me huge challenges this week and have caught me off guard. There are some little anecdotes sprinkled in too, just to keep you all smiling!
Enjoy this next stage of my (seemingly never-ending) journey of life immediately after a diagnosis of adult ADHD.
