Matthew 5:21-24, 43-48
In this passage of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus takes several commands from God the people were familiar with and goes deeper. Jesus wants us to not only avoid sinful actions but avoid sinful attitudes behind many of these actions. He wants us to be guided by God’s character, not just God’s commands.
