There is an uneasy calm in some parts of Sokoto State.

As the rainy season intensifies, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a fresh warning predicting flash floods in 20 states across Nigeria.

And the State, where the risk of severe flooding is expected to be especially high in the coming days, is top on the list is Sokoto.

This warning has sparked growing concern among residents, especially in low-lying and densely populated areas.
