Whoo! Oh, yes! Aaaaaah! Oh, yes! Oh, yes! Oh, yes! The kingdom's in a state of great surprise. Oh, yes! What is up, guys? Welcome back to Wrestling Crossroads. As always, I'm OneHalfDynamicDoaTwisted alongside Brother Pyro. What's up, y'all? And we're sorry for this being a couple days late, but we are recapping Halloween Havoc. What did you think overall for it? It was decent. Decent? I mean, haven't you noticed that the last couple NXT pay per views have kind of fallen flat for us? Uh Yeah Yeah, I was gonna say, yeah, you can't. You can't deny it. I don't know if she was really good. I mean, yes, but like the last couple, just in general, I don't know if it's overall. Pay per views across like all the brands that we cover have kind of really fallen flat here and there. I mean, there's been like those bigger parts where you just, you kind of lose interest. Mm hmm. So, uh, did you want to start us off with the night? Uh, sure. Alright, take us through it. Heh heh heh. Yes. This time you set yourself up. I really don't care. Alright. Because I'm at least happy with the results of mine. That's valid. Alright, let's go through it. So, NXT North American title. Tony DeAngelo defends against Obafemi in a Tables, Ladders, and Scares. Spooky. Spooky. Spooky. Spooky. Uh, really hard hitting. You can tell Oba really wanted to become that guy again. Tony not really, uh, willing to give up the title just yet. Whole storyline, by the way, uh, Desaria and I were talking about it a couple days ago. Yeah. The whole plotline to this storyline has been from Rocky 3. If anybody has seen the Rocky franchise, Rocky 3. This was, this was it. Overall though, really good show, er, really good showing from both. Uh, closing moments, we saw Stax, Rizzo, and why can I never remember his Christophina. Thank you, you know, get involved. I'm out. I mean, yes, but, eh, legal. Legal. As legal as you want. They came, they got involved, they really wanted to, you know, help Tony. I mean, Rizzo, though. Rizzo. Uh, we gotta give it to Rizzo for that. What? Hey, Rizzo. We like Rizzo. We love Rizzo. Okay, then. We love all of, all of the family. Uh, yeah. We love all of the family. You were just saying, like, please never break them up, ever. Please don't. Please, like, they are, the way that they work together and individually is phenomenal. Like, you had Stax and Tony as Tag Team Champions once before, but Tony as like, Heritage Cup Champion in the past, has also proven that he can do it on his own. Stacks can do it on his own. If they build up Crucifino, he can do it on his own. I can see Crucifino really having a solid mid card run. Heritage Cup, maybe, eventually, once they move Tony D'Angelo into the Anortha, or into the NXT world title picture, Crucifino as North American champion. Or even Stacks, you know, like having kind of the gold on everyone in the family eventually. After, after some help from the family, picking up the win, and still, NXT North American Champion, The Don of NXT, Tony D'Angelo. And there are some rumors circulating over from you. Yes, uh, rumor mill has it, and I was reading this the day after, that Oba dropped the match because there is a possibility that he was getting called up. It could have been as soon as, you know, Monday. It could be as soon as, you know, Soon as next week, but apparently they're thinking of calling him up. No disrespect here amazing talent potential ceiling is astronomically high It's too soon Okay I mean, I I agree on it being a little too soon in this aspect, but I think because They have the storyline going with bronson reid, but they also have a lot of other big men as they consider out right now, they kind of need the muscle power. They don't though. They don't. They don't. That's just the way that I've seen WWE work, so. I was gonna say this is also Don't argue with me, argue with them. I was gonna say this is also a triple H from WWE, so I don't really see it being that that's the case. Uh, just needing the muscle and whatever, because that would have been a triple or that would have been a Vince McMahon move almost to me, without question. Yeah. We are also seeing, you know, the way Triple H is working, he's incorporating a lot of talent of all different sizes and shapes and I think, regardless of when he gets moved to the main roster Eventually it's gonna happen, because you can see it's going to happen. Don't do it this soon. Eventually, whenever he does end up getting up there, I don't see him dropping the ball. No, no, that's why I'm saying you give him a little bit more time on Okay Next match up was the women's tag team match NXT women's champion Roxanne Perez and now Best friend Cora Jade best friend enemy best friend again. Yeah, whatever it is um Team up to take on, as they call them, International Sensations, Julia and Stephanie Valcour. Uh, the beginning to this match was really great. Very entertaining, very hard hitting from both sides, great defense, great offense. However, me and you agreed, towards the middle and end of this match, it fell completely flat. It went completely flat. You can tell these girls were exhausted. And could it be because now they're on the road again? That I honestly I think you know when you're when you're stagnant in one place for so long It's a lot easier to just work work work work, but like a lot of the guys and girls on the main roster And in other promotions Seth said it like travel takes a lot a huge toll on your body Do you think that's why they were so and I and I think that played a factor of you know You're traveling week to week week to week to week Instead of just staying stationary like you're used to and a lot of the promotions outside of WWE and AEW that we cover They, you know, they don't move around and travel as much. So even like, Julia and Stephanie Valkyra aren't 100 percent used to the traveling that comes with or underneath the WWE umbrella. Oh yeah, think about it. One's coming from New Japan, one's coming from, uh, CMLL, which is based in Mexico, and they're not really traveling promotions. Yeah, so, I mean, I could, you could not only see And, like, even then, for the longest time, NXT was, what, full sale, and then they were they would only travel for like big paper read. And then there was another, uh, arena that they took over, I believe. Yeah, little outside of food sale that they were just in before the cw. Mm-Hmm. And I mean, like, it wasn't just Roxanne and Cora, it was No, you could see it in, you could see it in Stephanie and Julia as well. So, um. Ultimately, picking up the win, they did give it to Julia and Stephanie Valkyrie. Stephanie being the one to pin the Women's Champion at the end of the night. Dude, this women's roster is so damn good. After this, we did see a little vignette and a little debut in a way of What was the name? Is it Zara? Zarya? Zaria? Um, I, I'm unsure of the name. I'm not familiar with the person. You are a little bit more familiar with this female superstar than I am? Yeah, Zaria. Okay. Yeah, she's, she comes out of Australia. Which again, not a big travel thing. She did make kind of a vignette. She was up in the roster, or up in the rafters. Um, didn't really do much at the, at the moment, so. Um. Nothing to be said from there. Uh, next match and then we'll go to, I know we're skipping grades, we'll go to the grades at the end of the, uh, podcast. I don't really care right now. Dude, I just got off work. I am. Yes, we're tired. Exhausted. It was a long night. Uh, ambulance match. Andre Chase, Ridge Holland, Uh, about as personal and about as heated as one could expect. Andre Chase standing up for the pride of Chase University. Uh, uh, Ridge Holland basically out to prove, One, I can be that guy. Two, I can be that guy without you. I can be it without you. Three, you kind of suck and I'm the only reason you can see, I'm the reason you've achieved success. Like, you're a disappointment and a failure and I'm gonna show you. Uh, earlier in the night, he did get into it with, uh, Mr. Bba, Ray Dudley. Yes. Uh, WW Hall of Famer Co-host to, uh, bust it open on serious XM Fight Nation. Uh, gotta shot them all the way out. Oh, I gotta shot them out. They, they've given a big inspiration to how we do this. Yeah. Um, so go ahead and listen to them. Every morning depending on your time zone. I know here in the Midwest. It's 8 to 11 Or 9 a. m. To 11 because it's about a 2 hour show. But yeah, no, go ahead, listen to them. Listen to Mr. Dave LaGreca and Bubba Ray Dudley, who, uh, helped co host NXT Halloween Havoc's pre show. Uh, again, co host to Bust It Open, alongside, you know, guys like Tommy Dreamer, Mickie James, Thunder Rosa. Sorry. Let's stay in a lane. We gotta get through this. I am in a lane. They were part of that thing. Alright, let's continue. Gotta put them over. Uh They're more over than we are. I'm working on it. Anyway, uh, Not much of a surprise factor in this match. You saw Andre Chase really go at it alone. Because he wanted to do this by himself. He wasn't even accompanied by Thea Hale, which is wild. Uh, you got to see use of a lot of pumpkin seeds. You were really, you were really excited about the pumpkins. Yes, yes I was. Uh, I knew they were going to be used. I mean, they're sitting right there on ringside, so. But, uh, closing moments, you got to see them both kind of teaser. Tease success, uh, but overall picking up the win to the surprise of not me. It wasn't necessarily a surprise to me, I just, I personally think the wrong person went over in the match. To continue to dominate, over chase you, Ridge Holland, so what was that disario about, you know, they're not gonna let him continue to beat up everybody and go over on everybody and chase you? You know what, this was the right call. This was the right call, you kind of First off, he's gotta break the negative stigma that he isn't a good worker. Chasey was the perfect way to make that happen. Secondly, you wanna build him towards something he was on. He was on the main roster for quite a while, might I add. Yeah, that I know. And then reallocate it to NXT. I just find it Cause they kinda lost the All direction for him once they split up the brawling groups. I just find it really funny how He goes i'm retiring from in ring competition because i'm an unsafe worker two weeks later. Hey, guess what? I'm wrestling again Okay. So how many times have you seen the fake retirement angle? Yeah, mark henry did it? Yeah, but that was more or less like instant like hey, like guess what i'm not actually doing this Okay, so it's just hold on. Hold on. Hold on because mark again mark henry example instant rhyme exam Wanted a shot at the title, faked his retirement, and immediately attacked John Cena, who was world champion, literally 30 seconds freakin later. That's why I said his was immediate. I was gonna say, let's go back to this summer. AJ Styles with the fake retirement to get another shot at Cody Rhodes. Immediate attack. Okay, so you let this, you, you, me, me, me. Okay, cool. You did more or less the same thing with Ridge Holland. Oh, no, you waited a couple weeks. Yeah, made it different by not very much, but it was essentially the same effect, same outcome. You knew he wasn't gonna retire. He's still young. He can still fix his habits, but Actually, hold up. Pause. Rewind. You just made a statement that could be incorrect. You knew he wasn't going to retire. He is still young. Do you know how many wrestlers are currently now retiring and stepping away from in ring competition even though they are young and have no like, okay, but you can see no issues underneath their belts. Cool. That's great for them. But this for him works. He's still young and he can still, my, my, my age factor of this was he still has time to fix those mistakes, much like a Mr. Seth freakin Rawlins, who multi time world champion, multi time IC champion, you know, multi, he, he is a two, he is also a two time Grand Slam champion, might I add. What was his biggest thing up to like, maybe five years ago? Unsafe worker everybody he stepped in the ring with what got hurt. He got hurt consistently He fixed it This is but essentially what I was saying is for the retirement angle what they were What they had shown that they were going to do with him was I'm retiring. I'm just going to take a backstage role And essentially yes, because you are an unsafe worker and as unsafe as he was I could have seen it actually happening that way. Could I have seen it, him coming out of the retirement? Yes. But the way it went about was a little bit, huh, to me? Because, yes, it's the instant, hey, I can go over on the bigger person, but this was like, okay, you had just said that you wanted, you want to be more in the backstage. Could that mean that he was working on things behind the scenes? Yes. And for all we know, he probably is still working on a lot of things backstage in the performance center to improve his craft. And that's great and fine. It just caught me personally off guard with the fact that he had announced he wanted to work more backstage upon retiring because they could have just left it. I mean, NXT GM. How many times has she been in the ring, and she just now retired from in ring competition? I was gonna say, she maybe had like, what, three matches? But she is content with the backstage role, and you know what, that's great for her. And it could have been that way for him, is all I'm saying. Not everybody's content with that backstage role. So, you gotta remember that. Like, okay, she's content with the backstage role. She's okay with not getting back in the ring. It's wild that she retired from in ring competition before her father. I knew you were gonna bring that up. Oh, of course. How could you not? Her dad is still actively wrestling. And she's like, I'm gonna hang it up. Cause you know what? I'm content with this. I still get to be part of the business. In a way that actually makes sense for because let's be real. She looked really awkward in a lot of matches in the matches that she was in. She looked pretty awkward and again, if this is If you want to be part of the business You got to do it in a way that makes sense to you in the way that makes you happy Clearly ridge doesn't actually want to be retired and clearly ridge is happy with being an in ring competitor and like I said Working on things that you know, he needs to work on. Yeah You Working on It works it helps. Mm hmm and again That's just kind of where my mind went when it officially was announced that he was doing this is like, okay Maybe he does want the behind the scenes thing. Maybe he understands that what he has done is severely unsafe And maybe he'll do you know the behind the scenes things once he actually is ready to retire And that would be great and you know, that would be great when it comes to superstars who tend to be unsafe. Could you give some tips to Nia Jax? Oh, we knew my shot was eventually coming. Oh, I knew your shot was coming. Uh, I mean she's gotten better in terms of safety. For the most part. She hasn't injured anybody this run. Yeah, yet. And she and she's been back for almost two years now. Yeah, don't remind me. Alright. I'm just saying, she ain't, she ain't injured nobody, so clearly she did something, she's, she's doing something right. She's still, that's some dog water, but. Reeling ourselves back into matches. The next match we have on the card, NXT North American Women's Championship is on the line. Kaylani Jordan, our Charisma Vacuum, um, defends her title against Ava DuVernay. All three members of Fatal Influence in a gauntlet match. Starting off, we had Jasmine Nix. Ninks? Nix. Nix, who came out, um, that was more of a quicker portion. Uh, Jasmine ended up taking the L. No surprise, because she was just kind of that, Hey, let's, let's, uh. Let's be real, the first two were softening them up. Yeah, more or less. That's what I could see for Jasmine. And then you had more or less the veteran in this case, JC Jane, coming out and really kind of doing more of the damage, but again, still taking that L. Taking an L, but she definitely did a lot more work than Jasmine did. Yes, she had a longer bit of stint. Final member to come out was Fallon Henley, who is more or less the Brawn in this situation. Oh, she's definitely the muscle of the group. Yeah, she's just the muscle of the group. Uh, really took a beating to Kehlani because, well, you know, all of Theta Influence really wanted this title. And we really wanted this title off of Kehlani too. Um, it did end up taking about all three members little distractions here by Jasmine and JC, but not necessarily getting involved. Small distractions to keep her eye off the ball. Ultimately picking up the win, your new NXT Women's Champion, North American Women's Champion, sorry, Fallon Huntley. I'm very happy that Kehlani is no longer champion. I am sick of the charisma vacuum. Take some notes from your, uh, from your husband, from your boyfriend. Boyfriend. Sorry. We ain't there just yet. Not yet. We know when the ring will be on the finger. We'll see it all over socials. Oh yeah, they are reacting on socials. Um, after the match, post match, we did end up, uh With another vignette. Nope, no, no, no. We did end up with all three members of Fatal Influence in the ring. Fallon grabs the mic and says, This is to let, put all of you on notice. We see the small vignette. But then we have Zarya actually entering the ring and laying out all members of Fatal Influence. I am so excited! I am as well. I am so excited to see what they do with everybody. I do want to point out, um, obviously we are a couple days late on this, so this past week on NXT we did get to see all three of the muscle mommies. We got to see Zarya, Rhea Ripley made a trip down to NXT, and we got to see a lovely Jordan Reigns. DON'T TURN OFF THE CHIMERA! She just dropped her championship, and her, uh, contract with TNA is coming to an end, so we might see her full time in NXT now. We, that's a possibility. Possibility, yes. But, we also know There was still that working relationship between, you know, NXT and TNA, which is perfectly fine with me. Continue to work with other companies, because that's what the wrestling relationship is. Yes, and that, with, um, that being said, with Tuesday night, there was an altercation that left Zarya, Stephanie, Julia, Jordan Grace and, um, Kehlani standing tall in the ring against our heels. I fainted. It was a very beautiful picture. I fainted and then I also fainted. Somebody share the picture of, you know. The five of five. Mm hmm. Yes. Screw the women's war games match on the main roster. I want that one. Give, give me these women in a war games match instead. And I NXT war games. I am not gonna lie. I don't disagree, NXT has probably got the best women's roster in all of wrestling right now. They also have the healthiest women's roster in all of wrestling currently. Valid. That also includes, yeah, their main roster as well. But like, you can't find me a more stacked roster, not including the TNA Women, yeah. The women. Fallon Henley, absolute prier. Jasmine Nix, absolute, like all of fatal influence, fuck, top tier. Roxanne, probably performing at the best she has in years. Cora Jade, finally healthy, doing well. And the fact that she did so well on her first match back. Stephanie, Zaria, Julia. This women's division has It is going places. It's, it's absolutely beautiful. All right. Um, it's amazing. Main roster or not main roster. Main event, please, sir. We're talking about the main rosters. Yeah. Stuck on my head. All right. Our main event, uh, main event, devil's playground. Ethan Page Trick Williams. NXT, why was I gonna say, I was gonna say TNA for a second. NXT World Championship. Championship. Championship. Uh, Devil's Playground, it's really Falls count anywhere. Falls count anywhere, no DQ. This is going, this is uh, about as hard hitting as it gets. More or less. It is. You, you saw their story leading up to this, both of which dropped diss tracks on each other, neither one of which was really good, because both of them were garbage, please don't ever try to be rappers, guys, ever, please, never, no, stick to what you know, I mean when, when Trick dropped his diss track when he was going against Pete Dunne, it wasn't that bad then. It wasn't stupid bad, but it's still better than most of the mumble rappers that we got out here. Anyway! So, again, as hard hitting as as personal as it gets, you got to see them use pretty much anything they could in their arsenal. Pumpkin! Yes, we got to see more pumpkins. We got to see a pumpkin smashed over, uh, Ethan Page's head while he was wearing it as a helmet. Yes. Again, you were really excited about that. Pumpkin! Uh, but not really much more to touch on when it comes to this match, because again, if you watched the match, or even if you didn't, there wasn't a lot of standout moments like we thought there was, because like, you missed a lot of key spots that could have been better. Mm hmm. Again, me and you said that They didn't need to keep it just around the ring. And they really did keep it around the ring. You could have went up the ramp. You could have went onto the stage. You could have had use of the LED board there. I mean, you go to the main roster, and if you're told, Hey, this is an Extreme Rules match. This falls down anywhere. Guess what? You're up in this stand. Dude, how many times have we seen them go through the concession stands in the arena? Yeah. I think I remember one time, somebody actually got beat with a bucket of popcorn. I remember that, but I also remember that there was, I don't know if it was NXT or the main roster, but there was a Falls Count Anywhere match, and it just got so out of hand that they were like, alright, so, they're out there, we're just gonna go back to the next match, and we'll come back to this when we have a pinfall. Fair enough. I vaguely remember that, but I know that I've watched it, like, I believe with you, which is the funniest part. Because you were like, are we ever gonna have, like, a decision, and it wasn't until the end of the night that they ended up coming back to the ring to make the pinfall. Yeah, but again, they used the, you can go anywhere in the arena to all of the mental. I think they left the arena too. At one point they left the arena, were in the parking lot, and then came back. Yeah. Okay, so you remember it, too. Yes. They used full advantage. I still remember the, uh, Milwaukee Symphony match. Uh, Elias and Braun Strowman, they actually ran around what was the Bradley Center at the time. Just do do do do do do do. Yep. Oh, I remember that. Again, no rules. You can fight anywhere. No count out. Use that to your advantage, guys. You don't need to stay around the ring. Ah, but ultimately picking up the win and still! NXT champion, Shrek Williams. Yes. Post match, Ridge Holland comes in for a beatdown. Him and Ethan Page kind of squabble. And then, Page looks at him and is like, If you're gonna do it, do it right. Finish the job, so Ridge. And then, Bubba comes out, cause, Uh, after his ambulance match, Uh, Dave Lagreca, Bubba Ray Dudley, Talking about what was going on. Mhm. Like recapping up to that point, I think. Yeah. They had uh, I think they had just finished the gauntlet match actually. They gave, they were giving a recap. Ridge Holland once again interrupting Bubble. Bubble is like, look, this is the second time. Don't let it be a third. Do not let this happen again. What happens? Bubble's like, you know what? Skip waiting for a third time. Comes out, helps trick, fend off Ethan Page, Ridge Holland. I know that it played something into, uh, NXT Heat this past week, this past Tuesday. Uh, I'm gonna go back and watch it at some point. Uh, but it resulted in a War of Words, uh, Rich Holland calling Bubba a Nostalgia Act. Ooh, you stupid. You is just, you is a stupid man. So. Yeah, so eventually I think that's gonna lead to something, I don't know, maybe next week from the 2300 arena, you know, the original ECW arena in Philadelphia. I don't know. We could see a Bubba and a Ring. Bubba and a Ring, Bubba and Trick versus Ethan and Ridge, or maybe just Ridge and Bubba one on one. It'll lead to, it'll lead to something in that arena. I'm just, I'm just They're also talking about another WWE legend coming to NXT for a one man show. Oh, oh, oh, that's already been confirmed. That ain't even a talk. Mr. Rob Van Dam is already going to be there. Oh, I wasn't talking about him. Who are you talking about, Ms. Stein? Uh, Ms. Team Extreme, Ms. Lita, is in talks. Oh yeah, I said that to you. I said that to the group chat. Yes. I wouldn't mind seeing that. I wouldn't either. That's what I was saying, it's in talks. I wouldn't mind. I would not either. Uh, I I can't even think about the opponents that she would have, but I know Mr. Rob Van Dam was on a, this last Tuesday night. Think they were like, I think what I read, the plan was a triple threat match involving him. Jevon Evans. Mm-Hmm. And I don't remember who the third opponent was.'cause you, you sold me at Rob Van Dam and Jevon Evans. Oh yeah. That'll be absolutely beautiful. Like, like Skip the third Men. Can I get a one on one? Can I get the one on one? I agree. Wholeheartedly. Um, so again, that does conclude our Halloween Havoc. Uh, I mean, not much to say other than, for the main event, I really wish that they would have moved a lot more. I, honestly, the whole show was, like, it wasn't bad, but it definitely could have been better. Significantly better so NFC North American Title B B for the tag match because again it died at the end. Ambulance match C because reasons. B for the gauntlet match Cause, that also at some point, points got really steep. Uh, B plus for the uh, For the main event. For the main event and overall show with a B. Yeah. I mean, I, I agree with that. Cause again, we said it, main event. You should've moved, you should've gone to You should've moved, should've actually like, did a lot more. Uh, make an impression. I mean, the most that they really used was, Uh, steel steps and oh my god, a bag of bolts. Nuts, bolts, and washers. I wish it would've been a You said Legos. I remember Flash thinking it was the thumbtacks, and we were like, yeah, no, this is WWE. We have to wait a little bit more. But, again, that concludes. Anything else you would like to say before we go off air? Ah, we will see you next weekend for Actually, this weekend. Crown Jewel. That would be this weekend. Crown Jewel, and then we have two back to back. Yep, I know we have a little bit of a break before we get our back to back, correct? Yes. Two weeks of a break and then we get you back to back. So we have the 23rd and then the 30th for Survivor Series and full year. Yep. All right, guys. Yeah, the remaining schedule for the year as it stands is November 2nd is Crown Jewel. November 23rd, I believe, is full gear. The 30th would be Survivor Series. December 28th, World's End. Nothing currently lined up for January, though. Yep, and then we have, and then we'll, and then we kick everything back up in February. This is gonna be such a weird break having nothing in January. Oh my god, that's crazy. It's not wrong. So we'll definitely have longer episodes coming out in our December World's End because obviously that is going to be an AEW show and we know it's going to be stacked upon stacked. So we wish us the best for that one, but we will see you guys this weekend for Crown Jewel. We wish you the best and a happy Halloween. Laters.
