I'm better than you, and you know it! I can't see now. I am home, baby! What is up, guys? Welcome back to Wrestling Crossroads. As always, I am one haired Virginia Mcdowell Twisted alongside brother Pyro. What's up, y'all? And today we are covering AEW Full Gear. Are you excited for this? Are you just kind of feeling blah for it? I mean We're gonna do our best to cover Full Gear. Considering we've had a very hectic last month and a half, so we really don't actually understand what the heck the landscape of AEW is right now. Yeah, and even Desario, you know, kind of helping us and alongside with Hex, kind of giving us some footnotes. Both, you know, Desario has said that this is a really bad, you know, version of AEW. I would say AEW is probably is in one of its worst states since conception. Yeah, currently, yes. Um, so because I know we're going to be kind of blah and we're not going to be are happy, normally go lucky selves with this. I did want to, um, Kind of surprised brother probably real quick. So I looked on our, um, on our podcast stats for the week because I get my notifications through our buzzsprout, um, which is another way you can listen to us. And in the last seven days, we have 34 downloads in just this week, which means as of Sunday, Sunday, meaning last week, Sunday. We had 24 listeners. We had somebody listen to 24 of our episodes. Now, the last time we came on here, we hit another big number. It was, what, 30? No, it was about 50 something? Something like that. So we are having, you know, people listen a lot more. And when I look at our achievements, and I know Brother Pyro is going to absolutely love this, he's going to absolutely love this. Out of our downloads, in order to hit our next big goal of 2. 5k, we only need 747 more to go. Right. We there. We there, baby. And had, you know, everything with our technical difficulties not screwed us up, we'd be a lot further in our episodes published to reach our next one of 250. We need 114 more. And we'll have that soon. Oh, I don't doubt it. I'm just, you know, this is something that's exciting. I thought you'd like to hear some good news before we kind of dive into this, you know? So without further ado, would you like to get this started? Actually, you know, the next match that I'm going to get us started. Okay. So first match on at least our card, we have Will Osprey taking on Kyle Fletcher. Now for this one, essentially, um, Kyle Fletcher. You know, Osprey originally came in as part of the Don Callis family. Our last pay per view that we had covered, Kyle Fletcher kind of turned on him. And now Kyle has, oh, went to Trunks because every good heel is in Trunks. And shaved his head because he doesn't want to be another Will Osprey knock off. You want to kind of carve his own name, his own path. And I, I mean, I totally get it. So, um, looking at our predictions, it is unanimous. None of us think Kyle Fletcher can get the big one on Asprey. And we're not wrong. So, all right, into our next match, sir. A fatal 4 way for the AEW Tag Team Titles. Your new champions, and God, that feels good to say. I am still so irritated that they didn't have them win it at the last pay per view. I don't care that they didn't have them win it at the last pay per view. They still, Yo! Tag Team Champions, Private Party, defend against the Outrunners, the Acclaimed, and Kings of the Black Throne. Representing House of Black, that being House of Black members. Malachi Black and Brody King. Do we know who is part of the Outrunners group, or? I don't remember their names, and that's really sad, because Okay. I just figured I'd ask, like, if they were part of a faction, or No, it's just them two. Okay, well, whatever, then. It's just them two. Okay. Um, so, a four way was announced not long after, uh, Private Party had won the tag titles for full year. Mm hmm. Uh And it was a series of matches to qualify for, for this, so you know. Okay. How Kings of the Black Throne had to win a match to qualify, same with the Outrunners, same with the Acclaimed. So over the last couple weeks and, you know, Dynamites and Rampages and Collisions, like, we've been able to see that. And here we are. We have our tag titles. So, I I'm actually kind of excited for this match, because I think this match is probably going to be one of the more put Put together? Yes, one of the better put together matches on the card. I figured that's kind of where you were going with it. Also, I figure like this will be one of the more, hey, this is kind of match of the night, aside from, you know, anything that has to do with the Osprey. And even then, I'm kind of wary about it. Yeah, I mean It involves Don Callis. Not exactly. Yeah, no, I get it. I totally get that one. Alright. Uh, predictions. Going into our predictions, uh, Cauldron decided to be the odd one out. Which is usually you or Desario, so I'm a little Which is wild. Uh, he's going Kings of the Black Throne, whereas everybody else is going Private Party, which makes sense because why have them drop it right after they win it? I get it. Like, actually give us A chance to enjoy this. Um, I'm a little surprised that Hex isn't alongside Cauldron in this. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm kinda in shock myself. I was gonna say, are you in shock as well? Cause, you know, normally Hex is the one for all the spooky. And, um, we went private party, which is more upbeat and Yeah, no. This doesn't sound like our Hex. I'll have to check on her later. I know she's been a bit under the weather, but Yeah, no, um To that, feel better, please. Uh, TBS Championship, Mercedes Monet vs. Chris Statlander. Now, from what we were able to gather, um Statlander came out to the ring while Monet was kind of talking crap, you know how Mercedes does. With the last few weeks, it's been failed attempts at a blindside towards Statlander. Statlander injured Camille, and now she's in a sling. That's about, that's about all I got from Hex. They've ruined Camille! So let me ask you this. I, I'm not familiar with Camille, but outside of AEW, what was she like? She was actually a really dominant force when it came to the, uh, to NWA. Okay. Uh, she was really exciting. She was She was more of a powerhouse woman, I'm assuming. Oh, yeah. She was, uh I'm trying to think if I could compare her to any woman. At least on the WWE side, uh, could you compare her to Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix? A Beth, a Rhea. Okay. Like, like, she was that, like, badass chick that you wanted on your side, which, smart on Mercedes for recruiting her. But since then, you've made her, you've taken everything that makes her special. You've earned her from a dominant female competitor to Mercedes Lackey. And it sucks because you're wasting a lot of potential there. Okay. Alright. Going into our predictions, Me, you, and Desario are choosing Monet to retain, whereas Hex and Cullogen are going Statlander. I think we just, all three of us kind of know it's not happening. It makes no spike. They really haven't given us a rhyme or reason as to Much of why we should release that letter is ruining this match. I, I agree. She was healed, now she's fake, like, what's going on here? I liked, um, kind of what Desario said, that they're building up for Mercedes to go against Camille. Which, I mean, I've seen kind of their little spats here and there, so I don't put that past it. Yeah, but all right. Uh, next match. Next match International Championship. Kaska Tosta versus Rico Ricochet. Uh, match announced on Twitter. I know this is one of those moments ricochet posted on socials that he wanted to prove that he could be that guy for a company that he could carry the weight of Champion on his shoulders. And I know, given everything that happened, the last time these guys were in the ring, that triple threat match at Wrestle Dream, I believe, I'm sure there's still a bit of sour taste in Ricochet's mouth and he wants to kind of correct that wrong. Oh, yeah. I don't doubt it. Uh, going into the predictions. You are the odd woman out, picking Ricochet, whereas everybody else has Takeshita retaining, personally, I think it's one, because, again, he just won the title. Why, don't hot potato this. Do not hot potato this. This is actually, this has actually been relevant. Two, there will always be that interference of the Don Callows family on the outside. You know it's going to happen. Unfortunately. I just can't stand anybody that's aligned with the Don Callis side. So, Ricochet. Here's, here's, here's my thing is, going into this, um, you know, they, you know, what was it, Ricochet had, a number of weeks ago had to find a mystery partner, and it ended up being Powerhouse Hobbes. Who magically reappeared. where is the explanation for him not being part of the Don Callis family? Uh, he actually, there was a thing on, um, Twitter, Instagram where he did explain that ho uh, Don Callis for the time that Hobbes was out, didn't call, didn't check in on him. Not even, nothing, not even a letter. You, you know how those, those storylines go. You didn't check in on me, so now I'm turning my back on you, and I'm gonna be with the guy who wants to take your guy down. It was, um, Ricochet, uh, Hobbs, Cassidy, and Osprey that were actually all in this conversation backstage. So. Yeah, well To each their own. Right, like, you know, I guess. You make sense? Kind of, but not really. Whatever, next match. Jay White takes on Hangman Adam Page. Now, from what we have figured out with this, uh, White returned after Hangman took him out from injury. That's just essentially where we're at. It's a, I want to come back at you. You took me out. I'm here for blood. Everybody is going J. White, whereas I am the odd man out again, and I am choosing Adam Page. He has kind of been on a roll, so that is my reasoning for it. I literally just gave you a name to give you a name. Yeah, I know, you could care less about this match, because again, there's no reason for it. At least not on, like, this big of a stage, in a way. You know? Alright, next match, let's see. Our next match, Swerve Strickland, Bobby Lashley. I'm actually kind of excited for this. Uh, this all really stems from MBP's debut, confronting Nana, then confronting Swerve, telling him, hey, I want you on my side. Swerve basically telling him, go yourself. Um, essentially, Uh, MVP not too happy being told, No. No, cause you don't tell MVP no. I can think of a lot of ways I can tell him no. In multiple different languages too. Fair enough. But we're not talking about you. He don't like hearing the word no. So in an attempt to I'm pretty sure he hears it enough at home. I had to, for one time. What a one time. Girl. I wasn't even talking in that way. You went there. Girl. I could just imagine MVP coming home after a long day on the road, and he goes to eat something that his wife is in the middle of cooking and No. Woman, I just wanted a No. No, you can wait for it to be done. Right. That's what I was imagining. I don't know what you was imagining, but mine was You know, don't touch my food. Anyway, back on the topic. Right. Um, so how do you, how do you eventually try to force somebody to change their mind? If not, uh, by talk, you go brute force, enter Bobby Lashley. Man, has this thing been rushed? This could have been So, done so much better with the right build. You've already done a really good job of making Shelton Benjamin, why I was about to completely forget his name. Uh, look irrelevant in this whole thing and now you're giving Again, I don't, I think you're, you're giving us this match a little too soon. But we'll see how well this match plays out. Mm hmm. Cut. Yep, you being a woman yet again. I'm okay with that Three matches in a row Today's my lucky night. You guys swerve. Yes beating it the almighty Bobby Lashley. I Don't know if I'm allowed to call them that anymore. I don't think so. I think that's whatever company Whatever, uh Bobby Lashley We are the rest of us picking Bobby Lashley One you have the hurt syndicate You mean the Hurt Business? Yeah, the Hurt Syndicate. That's the other business. I know. The Hurt Syndicate, you know they're going to try to get involved in too. I don't think you, uh, You have Lashley lose his first one out. His first big match out, like, Granted, y'all had him debut against Joey Keaton Cheeseburger, not that long ago. There's a restaurant named Cheeseburger? Um, sorry? I thought Hurricane was a weird name. Yeah, no, Cheeseburger's been in the Spring of Honor for many, many years. Um, I forgot. What's his finishing move, the ketchup splat? No, it's slice of cheese number three. So, it's sliced bread. No, I don't know. I don't actually know. That would be hilarious if it was actually sliced bread. And it was named sliced cheese number three. But, anyway. That would be very creative. So, that tells you how much faith they have in Lashley already, by the way. Uh, cause, what? Hence why I went swerve. Um, personally, I would rather this match end in like a time limit draw or something. I personally would rather have this match end in somebody interfering. Uh, a no contest in some which way or fashion, getting thrown out, nobody wins, nobody loses, cause you gave us this match too early and, no. Yeah, I could care less for this match. I just put down a name because I like Swarp a bit better than Lashley. I've never really been a fan of Lashley, so. Point blank simple there. Okay, go ahead and take us into the next one. All right, uh, MJF versus Roderick Strong. We got here because Roderick, and this is via Miss Hex telling us, Roderick said he had unfinished business with MJF leading to a battle between Roderick and Adam Cole. If they got three wins, they both could face MJF at full gear. When Cole was at two victories, Roderick was at one. He had A bribery package sent to Don Callis full of money to take out one of the two. They succeeded in making sure Adam Cole didn't win his third match, thus here we are. So, I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Roderick Strong part of the Undisputed Kingdom? Which Adam Cole is also part of? I don't know Adam Cole's affiliation with that anymore. I just, I want to know, like what, before injury, wasn't that where he was? Yes. Okay, so why are you turning your back on your own teammate? You get, whatever, we'll figure it out in the video packages later tonight. That's all I gotta say. Um. Going for predictions, everybody chooses MJF to win this. I think, obviously, you put MJF over, because the match that we really want to see isn't him versus Roddy, it isn't him versus any other person of the Undisputed Kingdom, because I don't even know who's in that anymore. We want It's Isn't it the guns? No, it's The OG Kingdom. Which is Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. Mike Bennett. Yeah. Roderick Strong. Wardlow? We say that very questionably because we have no clue. Um, honestly, we just want to see him versus Adam Cole. That's our big bang. Let's let's get to that. Let's culminate what should have been started back when at you know, MJF started to come back from injury. But I understand the slow build to this because Adam Cole wasn't cleared. It's not that they completely forgot about it. It was, hey, dude, the other person isn't cleared yet, so we got to wait a little bit. I mean, he cleared now, which whatever. I am excited. And now they're building towards it. I'm excited to see them finally, eventually give us Adam Cole, MJF. Yes. It'll be beautiful. All right. Um, our next batch. Our next match TNT title, Danny Garcia challenging Jack Perry. Help me out here. How did we get here? Here, uh Via the words of our lovely Hex. Thank you Hex, by the way, for all of your cliff notes. Again, I kind of wish you were better so you could be taking a seat next to us because, Lord, we need somebody that understands what is going on in this group. In this company right now. Uh, Garcia has been harassing Jack Perry about not standing up for AEW with Mox trying to take over. Still need to know who we're doing this for, by the way. We still haven't actually gotten an answer. Here comes the money! Or a reveal or anything, so at some point can we get that soon? Especially because your ticket sales are declining, we're not sure how much longer it's going to be around. Anyway, anywho! Uh, leading, so, Garcia accuses Perry of not standing up for AEW with, you know, Perry being an AEW original, an AEW pillar. Yeah. Like, can we remember the four pillars? Were him, MJF, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin. And Darby Allin. Mm hmm. So, I can understand Garcia's frustration. Uh, this, after a while of harassment, leads to Jack Perry trying to take out Daddy Magic. I like Daddy Magic. I do, too. He's actually really entertaining. Uh, And eventually Do you need help? Wait, what? Okay, sorry. So, Garcia has been harassing Jack Perry about not standing up for A. W. When Max was running awry. Leading to Perry trying to take out Daddy Magic while Garcia was finishing a match. Garcia beat, beat Perry to the punch when Perry used a toe chain to string Daddy Magic to the back of his scapegoat trailer. I do like that bus. I'm not gonna lie. His scapegoat bus is actually pretty nice. And it's very unique. Anywho. Uh, Garcia and Daddy Magic, chain Perry to the hood, then drive around with him attached to that hood, leading to this match. Uh, so we're a little all over the place. I have Jack Perry, because it's Jack Perry, there's gonna be something up his sleeve. And he's actually looked really good as champion. No offense to Danny Garcia, you, Hex, and Cauldron all picked Danny Garcia, and Desario has no pick. I can tell you exactly why he has no pick. Cause who cares? Um, no, he had said that they are both, um, charisma vacuums. Yeah? That is his reasoning for not going for him. Either of them is the fact that they are Charisma Vacuums, his exact words. Garcia vs Jungle Boy, that's all he will be to me. I have no pick. Both guys are Charisma Vacuums. Short, simple, sweet Desario. Yeah. Literally. He's very good at getting to the point. I just, you know, I think Danny Garcia kind of deserves the win in this one. You've been seeing him really work and show that he is and can be a contender in your company. I'd love for him to be the one that takes the title, but again, you know, we also know that Jack Perry is one that will have things up his sleeve, unfortunately. But my pick is that, you know, Daddy, or Danny Garcia has a little help from Daddy Magic and kind of takes the W here. All right, main event time, AEW World Champion. Yes, I have already covered that. Yes, I have. Before yours. You write, you write, you write. AEW World Championship. Jon Moxley takes on Orange Cassidy. Uh, Cassidy and Moxley happened when Moxley was 18. Taking out Evil Uno and the other low card stars. They said Orange Cassidy was in charge according to Mox, so he took out Chuck Taylor after Taylor had a talk with Orange about standing up and being what he needs to be leading to a shift in orange's behavior and attitude. I'm very excited to see what kind of shift bring is like brought forward because we've seen bits and pieces of. Orange Cassidy, you know, kind of turning to a darker side of himself, you know, coming out in the black shirt, not necessarily the hands and the pants, and not necessarily, you know, not really using his jokingly being Orange Cassidy. The Orange Cassidy we all know and love. Mm hmm. I mean, took you a while to get behind his persona, but once you did, he got pretty close to that, uh, that personality change at first, you know what I mean? Yeah. So. Um, going into our predictions I mean, I don't mind it either, just cause I've always stated I want to see a more serious side of Orange Cassidy. Part of me wishes we would've seen it sooner. Part of me's not mad that this is how we're getting it. Orange Cassidy understanding the landscape around him is changing. Maybe it's time I make a personal change as well. Maybe it's time I stand up for, you know, my friends being the low, you know, the mid card, old card people. Well, even then, here's my thing is, cause he's always been the, I'm gonna stand up for my friends, best friends, Trent Beretta, um, Chuck Taylor. Chuck Taylor, he's done it with Krista, like, he's always gonna be there to bail out his friends, I think at this point. Oh yeah, and the, the, the Kargalamas. Congas. Yeah. His group with the Conga Lamas. With Mark Briscoe. The conglomeration. The Congo Lamas. Yes. Conglomeration the Congo Lamas. K? No. Say it with me. K gl. Er. Er. A. A. Shun. Shun. Conglomeration. Congolamas. I hate you. I hate you salad. But like, no. Like, you, yes. It's like a little kid. When they, when you try to get them to say popsicle. Pop. Pop. Sickle. Sickle. Popsicle. It's a Anyway. Anyway. Anyway. Anyway. Reeling in the three year old over here. Reeling in the three year old. Hey, hey, attention. Eyes up. Eyes up here. Shiny object. There we go. There we go. Good girl. Anyway. I think it's time Cassidy, honestly, I might face a lot of criticism for this one. I think Cassidy needs to stop putting his friends first and start thinking of himself. I agree. Start looking out. Orange Cassidy needs to look out. For Orange Freakin Cassidy at this point. He's done the whole hero, I'm gonna be a really good friend, I'm gonna look out for everybody else, I'm gonna put their needs above mine. And look at where it's gotten him. Jumped, beat the hell up, injured, betrayed. Start looking out for yourself. And if that means, you know, the falling out with the conglomeration, shut up. Shut up. I, I said nothing, sir. No, you just started dancing. Anyway. No one can see me but you. Why, why you think you got kicked? Anyway, I'm gonna kick you again. We have to get through this. Get you with the chancleta. We have to get through this, sir. Anyway. If it means a falling out with them or anybody else on the roster at this point, so be it. I'm not saying, you know, he's joining Moxley's side, but I'm also not saying, you know, he continues to stand up for AEW because the hero act is only going to get you so far. And it's, since his debut five years ago, it's really only gotten him so far. He's been international champion. Great on him. He's failed to win anything else. He should have been at least trios champion with the best friends and that didn't happen. Yeah. No tag title run. Nope. So what, like, how, how, how, how well is being that friend, being that, Guy you can always rely on really working out for him like you figure The titles that they have that involve teamwork and friendship You you've held one or two of them by now, yeah At least once or twice You've been with the company five freaking years you've been part of Group after group and team after team since you debuted essentially And your friendship has amounted to absolutely nothing. Yeah, I mean, he's only been a two time international champion. He's, he's achieved solo success, which means he can get the job done for himself. At this time, it's like, dude, hang up the friendship booth. At this point, this is where you need, that's what you need to do, just focus on you. Be like, tell all the guys in the back, like, look. I care about y'all but I need to do what's best for me. I need to do me You look at moxie and be like look i'm not going to stand Against i'm not gonna stand with you, but i'm not necessarily going to be against you again. I'm doing what's best for me Tony khan if you are Listening to this. I know you're not but I really wish you would sometimes Because this is one of those listen to your fan moments that could actually play off, pay off very well Especially considering again, you just signed, you know, this multi million dollar five year deal with Warner Brothers or whatever Good, great, grand, wonderful. What good is it going to do you if you continue to viewers and Can't sell seats. They can't put asses in seats right now to save your freaking life Mm hmm. Yeah, I didn't I've attended shows I've seen how small that crowd really is. The UW Panther Arena does not host many people. I, it's a couple thousand. Nothing compared to Visor. Yeah. Where WWE is. You went to that, that Smackdown show with me at Visor. Oh yeah. Almost every single seat was filled. Almost every single seat. There, there was a good chunk that, that, that wasn't sold and whatever. Yeah. But you filled up at least 80 percent of the arena. Yeah. You go to an AEW show, and you're lucky to fill up 50. That's sad. And that's even taking a portion for like the camera crew to sit? Because I know with the visor, what they'll do is they'll section off a part. So you have to kind of go up towards the top. No, if you, if you, if you really watch, and I would love I'm gonna, after we get off air, I'm gonna show you videos and pictures from when I went, and you're going to see more than half that, half that arena. Which again, maybe sits about 2, 000 ish people. Actually, you know what I'm gonna say? While you're looking that up, I'm going to get into our predictions, if that's cool. Yes. Because we have yet to get into that. Um, so going through our predictions, we are majority of the way towards Moxley, the odd one, being out. I kind of agree and want to be on Cauldron's side where I'd love for Orange Cassidy to be the man to actually stand up and be, win the big one for himself, but I don't see that happening right now. Not without the proper change like Brother Pyro has been talking about. I don't see it happening. Just under 13, 000 people. Okay. I think that, I don't even think there was a change. I, I, I genuinely believe there was less than a thousand people in that arena. That's saying something. Again, that's not a very big arena. Yeah, no. But that's still saying something. But like, and you can, and that's the thing is like you can see it a lot on, on TV. Is it, is it 13, 000 or 1, 300? Uh, total capacity for the arena is 12, Okay. So just under 13, 000. Okay. You can also see it on TV, all the empty seats. And it sucks, cause like, this was supposed to be something new and rejuvenating and something that isn't the norm, what the norm of pro wrestling has been for the last decade plus. What they think that you're giving us really nothing to work with I mean They think that you know the fact that they can only come listen to us Go off script the fact that they can be more violent is what's gonna draw in viewers when? Actuality a lot of the things that you guys are doing is actually has already been done It's been done, but it's also Borderline illegal like nobody's gonna want to watch this. Here's my thing is So that's, I'm gonna go back to 90s WWF. Attitude Era. That's exactly what that was. We're gonna be raw and we're gonna be edgy and we're gonna be violent and we're gonna do this and we're gonna If you really dissect the Attitude Era for what it was, and I'm going to catch a lot of hate for this, and I know it because there are some Attitude Era. Diehards out there, Desari, you and I have had this conversation. Mm hmm. If you really look at it, 90 percent of it was just throwing crap at a wall and hoping it would stick. The, which really did accentuate those moments that were gold, were freaking gold. AEW is kind of in that same boat and it sucks because it's not going to appeal to the modern day wrestling fans. I, I mean, I totally agree with you. Um, with that, we are all done talking about Full Gear. We are done on our rants. We hope you guys enjoy the show, per usual. And we will see you guys tomorrow for our recap. And we'll let you know what we think. Anything else to say, Brother Pera? Nah, enjoy the show. Good night. Laters.
