Avoiding Babylon
Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity.
As we see it, our job here at Avoiding Babylon is to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God’s Grace. Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world, for as Hillaire Belloc has famously said:
“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,
There’s always laughter and good red wine.
At least I’ve always found it so.
Benedicamus Domino!”

Nicholas Cavazo's returns to avoid a lot. Man, we have a lot to cover tonight, man. Like a whole lot to cover tonight. But we uh we I we gotta I'm sure the audience is dining. How have you been, Nick?
SPEAKER_00I've been uh good overall. Pretty good overall. I've been uh fairly busy. I graduated from college in December, so that was pretty fun finally finishing that. And uh a lot of uh interesting drama behind the scenes that these two know, but no one else knows.
SPEAKER_04We know some of it, probably not all.
SPEAKER_05We refer to drama like that. When we want to refer to that drama, we call it um uh the T.
SPEAKER_04We're gonna spill the T.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no, no, no, no. But what we call it, we're calling it not Swan Minus.
SPEAKER_04Oh flamingo minus.
SPEAKER_05Flamingo minus.
SPEAKER_00Well, we gotta we got a cancerous level of flamingo minus.
SPEAKER_05We're not doing it, we're not doing it. That's all behind the scenes though. We're not gonna do that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Maybe the locals will maybe maybe maybe a I'm just saying we might see some stuff within the next like two or three months, no promises.
SPEAKER_05All right, we'll we'll do it all. You guys want the t the tea? You gotta come over the locals. Also, I do have to what was that last falling out about? You uh I I know we started off like lightly teasing each other when you went on McLean's show and you took a little shot at me on McLean's show because it was kind of like funny. It was the Facebook post about the Facebook post. That's right.
SPEAKER_00Um it was a harmless satirical post where I was I made fun of like a dozen Catholic content creators by putting us all into boxes, including myself, and you guys I just put into the griper box because I was like, Yeah, I'll tell you, the reason I wasn't a fan of it was because there was kind of this a little bit of tension between us.
The Video: Doubt, Doctrine, Disillusion
SPEAKER_05It's like if we were like everything was fine between us, I probably would have laughed at it, but it was like it was a little bit of tension between us. I was like, I don't know if I'm I don't know. I probably I probably took it the wrong way. I'm I'm not usually too sensitive, but um, yeah, so uh Nick put out a video yesterday, and uh I watched it and I was like, I'm gonna reach out to my friend. I want to just check in on him, see how he's doing. And um you did take the video down, but I th I mean I think it's fine to like give people a synopsis of what what what you were saying in the video because they can't go and view it themselves, but you want to give people like a synopsis of what what the gist of the video was?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, essentially the synopsis is just I think I just said what all of us are feeling, which is just I personally, after seven years of being a Catholic, I just don't know how to square the circle anymore. There's just everything from what I can see to be like doctrinal changes to the scandals, they just pile up over such an amount of time to where it makes faithful Catholics like ourselves feel like we're fighting for a system that doesn't exist. And so a lot of it, as I said in my video, I told people, you know, don't take every single thing super literally, don't take everything super technically, but this is just kind of how I'm feeling about the overall situation. And uh yeah, we got a whole mess of interesting responses, but that's a short summary of it.
SPEAKER_05So the interesting responses didn't actually address the things you brought up in the uh in the video, though.
SPEAKER_00No, none of it. I've I've been uh posing this behind the scenes, some of these questions I've been posing behind the scenes to Catholic scholars for three or four months now. Um, and I've actually been somewhat surprised I've not gotten any like good answers to any of my questions at the moment.
SPEAKER_05All right, we're going to get to some of the like the bulk of the video a little bit later on, but um I I I do want to say something though.
SPEAKER_04Um Imagine that Anthony Abate wants to say something, guys.
Responses And Unanswered Questions
Negativity, Temperament, And Spiritual Health
SPEAKER_05So here's um I have like a lot of places I want to I want to go, and uh I want I want to make sure like this Nick, this isn't actually directed at you, it's kind of directed at a lot of the trad movement, and I and I'm gonna explain it like this like I when when Leo got elected, I saw uh something damaging in my own spiritual life under Francis, where I would like this constant focus on like the negativity and the uh like every day I was I was watching Anthony Stein and I'm reading Life Side, and I'm and it was just like one horror story after another. And then when Leo got elected, I wasn't even like let's wait and see. I was like, this guy's gonna be terrible. I'm just not going to allow that negativity to to drain my life out of me. And it it was a conscious decision, it was something like I I was really, you know, struggling with for a while. And what I I think people need to know their temperament. Like there are some guys who can be in that arena and it doesn't affect them at all, like uh like uh Michael Hitchbourne. He can he can get into the grimiest stuff the church is doing, and it doesn't it doesn't affect his spiritual life at all. It's you know something totally that he's able to deal with. Uh when the situation is getting you down, it's time for anything that we'll do that in a little bit. I mean let me let me get to some of this stuff. So um it's like the online trad world, what what I see is this constant doom and gloom. And there's I I don't I I I don't know, I don't know if I should address that first or if I should go with just even the like just the constant complaining and I'm gonna I'm gonna start it like this. I I have a lot of conversations outside of this show, and like that surprises no one. I one of the conversations I have was with a a a young guy who just started dating a girl, and I said to him, uh I was like, listen, if you want this girl to look at you in admiration, like you just started dating her, you have to be her spiritual father. Like you can't you can't lead her into anything that's going to harm her. Women don't want to be a mommy to someone, right? And it seems like there's especially in a lot of the young guys I talk to, it's like that there's a lot of complaining and there's a lot of emoting and things like that. And I'm like, you you want to be a every girl is looking for a father, and if you have if you if you think if you think about how women function, like they're always going for their dad, right? Like if they had a bad father, a girl is gonna be you know destroyed. No girl wants to be a mommy to a boy, right? So when I when I talk to guys about relationships, it's like I want them to understand that you are this girl's spiritual father. Make sure you guide her in a good place. Your girl will look at you with googly eyes because she will feel safe, she will feel protected around you. If you're constantly like uh like if I came home from work every day and I was complaining about work and stuff like that, it just would not be an attractive thing to my wife. But because I have learned these lessons over time, like um, over it, you know, it took me a while to learn it. I talked to Father Amado the other day on the show about it, and I told him, like, I was playing at manhood in my 30s. I was I felt like a boy playing at manhood, and it wasn't until I took my responsibility as a man and actually started being like a priest to the people around me that I started to come into being an actual man, and so much of that was living out a sacramental life, being Catholic, and actually uh being joyful and sharing that joy all around me. It's um it's uh the the negativity that I'm seeing in the trad movement, it's like we they've put such a poison in in the in the air. And it's just the online tradosphere, I'm seeing it. Because if you go to the parish level, I'm not seeing that. But when I see the stuff online, it's like what we're putting out to the world is that uh we're miserable, like we're unhappy. And the thing is, if you are miserable and unhappy, that stuff poisons your soul. Like it it it really does. The bitterness, the bitterness will grow inside of you. The resentment, the resentment grows inside of you. We have the words of eternal life. And that's and a lot of people think eternal life is like, oh, you you go to heaven when you die. It's like, no, we actually have them now, and if that if that's not having an effect in your life now, then there's something wrong, and you need to change what you're consuming because what you feed into your mind is going to come out into into the world. When Rob and I made that decision to stop talking about that stuff, so much of it was because I wanted to make sure that we actually brought joy to people. Like we wanted to be a comedy show, and we wanted people to remember it's actually really beautiful to be Catholic and to and to sit and just commiserate on the things that they're doing. Like, I don't, I don't, I don't know how to how to get around like getting into the reason that we're dealing with that yet, but I don't want to go there yet. Um it's like we have been given an opportunity right now. I'm watching the Trads freaking out that the bishop and in uh Charlotte took away their kneelers, and it's like they're freaking, oh my goodness, this bishop he took away all kneelers. It's like kneel on the concrete, man up. Like, I don't understand what you're complaining about. I I I get that it's horrible. I know, like, I'm not denying the problems you see. I will even tell you, if you follow these men that are giving you this pseudo-messianism, this false sense of mercy, they're the the the whole the whole program, it's not real Catholicism. I'm I'm not making any statement about the church. I'm telling you that these men who talk about this stuff, like you can't follow them, so don't even pay attention to what they're doing, just go and live your Catholic faith. It's like one of the things you said in your video is about the traditional Latin mass coming out of your uh cathedral, and then they put it into a parish, and now you get now you're in a parish hall, and it's like the early Christians had to hide in catacombs for mass, they had to hide in catacombs for the mass. You still have the mass, and you're at a hole, and it's like the to say the church hurt you, it's like okay, you gotta, you have to, you have to. If you if we are unwilling to embrace suffering joyfully, you're missing the whole reason for becoming Catholic. It's like I understand, especially because you just converted and you came in. Whereas like Rob and I have been dealing with this stuff since we're young, but to come into the church and then have all this stuff happen, it's like when you converted, you didn't just convert to a set of ideas. It wasn't just this moral manual and this and this tomistic philosophy. It was like you are becoming Catholic so that you learn to suffer well. And part of that suffering well is what is going to attract a mate to you, it's what's going to make you into a man, it's what's going to make you into a saint. And yes, the hierarchy is persecuting us right now. Christ stood before the Sanhedrin and got spit on. It's like this stuff that we're seeing right now has happened before, and it's very apocalyptic. Like it's not, I'm not, I'm not, I don't want to downplay it. It is really like I understand people's fears. I I read a post by Deacon McDonnelly yesterday where he was going on about how Francis nearly destroyed his faith, and now under Leo, everybody thinks everything's fine, but really it's just more of the same because he keeps Elvin. I'm trying to tell you guys that it is going to get infinitely worse. Like I'm I I've been trying to tell you two for a very long time that what we are looking at right now, it's it's uh I mean it if you open the catechism, the 675, it talks about what we're going to go through. And there's going to be this pseudo-messianism that actually tries to lure people away. It's the final confrontation the church faces. And you have to make a decision. Like, are you going to stay consumed with the things that are actually destroying your soul, or do you want to live now? Because you guys can all have eternal life now. I look at the conversations I have in my life, I look at the relationships I have in my life, I look at the way I lived in my 30s growing up, or even my like my late 20s, early 30s, when I was telling father, like I felt like a boy playing at manhood, it's because I had my addiction to my phone and secrets from my wife. And it's almost like my wife could sense it. She never knew, but she could sense it. And she she knew like I wasn't being a man and protecting my family. And then one day it changed, and I said, I'm not doing this anymore. And I and I took everything dead. I stopped using the confessional as a revolving door, and I got mortal sin out of my life, and I started being a husband and a father in a way I never had before. And when I tell you, my wife looks at me in amazement, she admires me. I want all of you guys to have that. And the way you do that is to stop focusing on the negativity and to have eternal life now. Like if you go back and read the Sermon on the Mount, it will give you life. If you if you sit there and you let bitterness and hatred and anger brew inside of you, you're in hell already. Forget what's going to come after. You're living in hell now. Nick, you're a new convert, and I think that you have to be very careful about what content you're putting out of what you're consuming because it's dangerous. And you're coming to those. You gave four conclusions yesterday, and I don't think those are the four conclusions. Do you want to go over some of the some of the questions you've been posing to people?
Men, Leadership, And Spiritual Fatherhood
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I can go over some questions, but I think it might be good for people to kind of get a broader maybe context of where these questions are coming from. I've essentially had a lot of people tell me uh similar things in the past as they're telling me now, which is, for instance, one of the things people are recommending I do is you know, kind of just turn off uh what I see going on in Rome and things on that nature, which believe it or not, I have. I've actually, if people have been paying uh attention to me, I've not posted a ton. I've actually taken a lot of stuff down and then kind of just backed away from stuff. They've told me to um like focus in on my relationship with Christ, which is uh what I try to do, and the way I do that is by comparing scripture. And but the more I read scripture, the more I'm actually coming to some of these great conundrums. So, as an example, one of the issues that I struggle with, and this is what I would really like people to answer, is the Catholic Church in a numerous amount of places teaches that all of its doctrines and dogmas, etc., are perfect, they're given by Christ, uh, and that also her disciplines, which reflect those said teachings, should uh not cause any type of spiritual harm to the believers. Okay. If I accept that though, what do I do with the amount of doctrinal changes that we've seen over the last 60 years from religious liberty to ecumenism to the death penalty, et cetera, and disciplinary changes such as, you know, Amor's Letitia, the gay blessings, et cetera, et cetera. All of this being said, I it leads me to one of several conclusions, which is either A, and there's technically more than this, as people pointed out, but A, you have uh, you know, the CETAs are right, and a lot of them have contacted me and been like, yeah, you're right, like these are legitimate changes, and you're right, like you're citing Catholic teaching. B, Protestantism rightly defined is correct, which is that um you have the Catholic Church, if you will, building up accretions over time, which are not scriptural, and they need to be purged. C, the modernists are correct, and I said I don't believe in that. Some people think I I said that that's a viable option. I said it's not. It's the idea that truth can evolve, which is not it's nonsensical. Or D, the final one, is that Catholicism is in fact true, but the only way to have any type of Catholic life or the restoration of the church, what have you, is for there to be some type of um major reformation that overhauls the entire system that does take a lot of these issues into account. Those are essentially it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I don't, I, I, I, I, I don't, I think you're missing a lot of options.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, they're not though, it's not an exhaustive list by any stretch of the imagination.
Suffering Well And Joyful Witness
End Times Lens And Perseverance
Evangelization Through Beauty And Conversion Stories
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I think I mean, because I I get people that tell me I'm a doomer a lot and that uh, you know, that that I'm not uh I don't see how you any of us can be surprised by the things we are seeing when we were literally told they would happen. Like we were told there's going to be a great apostasy. We were told that the church is gonna look I mean reading five before Christ's second coming, the church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the mystery of iniquity in the form of a religious deception, offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in the place of God and of his messiah come in the flesh. Like, so if you're living through that, what do you say? Yeah, I mean, the way I think what the church of the no no, well, I want to I want to point something out because at the time that the that Christ came, we've gone through this before with with the 12 tribes of Israel, how the 10 northern tribes are dispersed amongst the Gentiles, they're totally lost for the all you cannot find the 12 tribe, the ten no ten northern tribes. Christ comes, and by bringing the gentiles into the covenant, that is how he unites the 12 tribes. Paul says in Romans 9, is it that the word of God had failed? Because everybody thought God's word had failed and God's promises has had failed. But God's promises didn't fail, they're just not fulfilled in the way you think. And all the people who want to nitpick and say, Well, this is how the end times are supposed to go, well, this is how it's supposed to be, I didn't imagine that this is how this would be. Where is your like I don't understand it? It's like things are going to get so bad that if these little things that we're seeing now are this disheartening, you're not going to make it because we it is going to the church is going to follow our Lord and his passion and death. It's going to be typologically like it was during his time. Christ is crucified by his own people. We are being given an opportunity to be Christ right now. You're being persecuted by this anhedron, by the hierarchy at times, you're being spit on. You have a chance to be joyful, you have a chance to go to the catacombs, you still have mass. We're going to come to a time where the mass ceases for three and a half years, the holy sacrifice ceases. What do we do then? Because I'm telling all of you that watch this show, if you still have mortal sin in your life, if you're still struggling with that and you have the sacraments, what are you going to do when they're gone? You have no idea how different your life becomes when you actually get this under control. I'm not saying you guys, I'm saying to the people listening. If you are still using the confessional like a revolving door and falling into this into the same sins over and over and just going back to God and going back to the priest over and over, you are going to be in deep trouble when this stuff happens, and it's going to happen. And I don't think people think I'm, you know, I'm a doomer. Look at what is happening in the world. We are racing towards Armageddon right now. You have all this stuff going on with Israel. Are you people not seeing what's happening? We're talking, everybody's talking about Catholics and Zionism. Why do you think Catholics can't be Zionists? We can't be Zionists, we can't support Israel in any shape, form, or fashion because what they are doing there is building their messianic kingdom and getting ready to seat their messiah on their throne. And he is going. There is no possible way any of us can support that in any political, natural, any there's nothing. I'm not saying we should. Uh support their they they have to leave, is nothing like that. You just can't have any support for it. What is happening in the world right now is I mean, I just don't know what like everybody thinks I'm overreacting, or no, we're just coming to a no, it's just the third republic. And are you people nuts? Look at what is going on in the church, look at what has happened. We have never dealt with a crisis on any level like this in our lives. All of the sacraments were changed, all this stuff. I'm I'm telling you, buckle up, live your Catholic faith out, and be joyful. Talk to all the people in your lives. If you have if there is someone in your life that you have a hard relationship with, go make amends with them before you come to the altar. Go heal your relationship with your brother. I'm telling all of you, it is going to get much worse than it is right now. And and listen, I watch I watch the conversations with the Cede Vicantists, and it's like, oh, maybe they have like you're saying, maybe it's Cedevicantism. I see the Cede Vicantists, they're the most miserable people on the planet. Their lives are rotten. I don't know what their lives in the parish are like. I really don't. I don't I don't want to say that. But the online ones that I come across, they are the most unhappy, spiritually miserable people on earth. They can't go and evangelize somebody, they can't go and preach the Catholic faith to somebody. They have to go and find Catholics who already believe the Catholic faith and go, no, no, no, you have a false pope. Let me drag you out of it. And what does that solve anyway? The man in Rome is still seen by the world as the bishop of Rome. What's the difference? The sacraments are real, and I can tell you the sacraments are real because I see the way my life is lived. And I could never ever have gotten control of my passions and my sins without the sacraments. So all of you, get it together. Like, this is so important. You guys are going to end up in hell if you don't think about what I'm saying here. Your souls depend on it. Your lives now, like the the opportunity to be a saint is before every single one of us right now. I have um I I work with a guy who's uh he has a dual citizenship with Spain and and America. His his family's from Spain. I I talked to him a couple of weeks ago, telling him about Spanish Catholicism and just showing him how amazing Spanish. I showed him the the holy day processions in Spain on uh that that Mass of the Ages just put out. I was talking to him about how important he has a seven-month-old daughter. Guy hasn't been to Mass in in years, probably 20 years. Had this conversation with him. Talk to him about the importance uh that he has as a father to raise his daughter as a Catholic. Don't let this cultural inheritance that you have get squandered. If you don't give your daughter something, she's gonna believe in anything. I we were the company was shut down for three weeks. We got shut down for weather. I came back to work yesterday, worked with him for the first time. This guy ran up to me. He could not wait to tell me that he baptized his daughter and he's back at mass. Do you think I told him, hey, the bishop in Rome is the end, is not really the bishop in Rome. You don't know all the scandals that are going on. No, I'm talking to him about the beautiful experience of being Catholic because living out a Catholic life is the most beautiful gift you could possibly have on this earth. Your relationships in your life will flourish, your marriage will flourish, if you have a girlfriend, it'll flourish. But if you just think this stuff is a list of things on a piece of paper or some manual to study, I promise you, you're going to fall apart because that's not what this is. This is about how we treat each other. This is about how we love the souls that God has put in our lives. If you guys are not treating one another as Christ treated them, treated treated everyone, you're missing the point of this. I'm not talking to you guys, I'm talking to everybody. Like, I can't tell you how much my life has changed. I want everybody that watches this show to have what I have. It is literally the greatest life I could have ever asked for. God has given me a sense of purpose, He's given me a sense of meaning, He's given me a beautiful wife and children, and they all adore me. My wife worships me. I want that for you men. But if you sit there and you're and you're complaining all the time, I'm telling you, these girls will just look at you like, I don't need a son, I don't want to be a mommy to somebody. They want men and men, God called 12 men to evangelize the world, and I am looking to get other men to help me evangelize the world right now because the world is broken and hell is on its way. And you guys, I don't give a shit who thinks I'm I'm wrong. Pay attention, pay attention, like really look at what's happening right now. We're about to go to war with Iran, freaking AI's coming, we have the alien stuff happening. Wake up, every one of you. Stop worrying about the altar girl in Rome. Get on your freaking knees and get off the damn internet. All of you. Every one of these guys that fight with me online, these stupid set of contests that are fighting with me online, they're freaking 20-something years old. These kids are sitting there looking at their phones, they're freaking, they're all porn rattled addicts. You make me sick. You make me sick. Be a freaking man telling me I'm a bread worshiper. I'll smack the teeth right out of your face. I'm a bread worshiper. You don't have a single friend in your life. They don't know how to treat another human being like a person. It's like I don't get you guys. All I want for you guys is to have life. Like we have eternal life now. You're going and receiving the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ every Sunday at Mass. It's in a hole for you. Like that's where I'm at with this stuff. We all need to man up right now. It is not going to be easy going forward. And if if we don't get it together, first off, I want people to see the beauty of the traditional Catholic faith. I don't want them to see this bitterness in us because it's amazing. It's like we know we have the treasure, the pearl of great price, and all we're doing is making people think we're bitter and rotten and mad at everybody, and we hate everybody. And it's like it, it's really, it's really upsetting, man. This isn't, I'm telling you, Nick, this is about everybody I see online. This is about the the crazy headlines that I see from life site news sometimes. It's about the constant just, it's like we all know what's happening. And it's totally fine to actually like warn people that, hey, this is a spiritual danger. Like, if you follow this, that's actually a danger. That's totally fine. Like, we could, yes, we're totally like fiducia supplicants. I don't know what the church is up to right now. I have no idea. I'm not telling you guys I have the answers to the questions of what happened at the council. I don't know. What I do know is my life, because I have chosen to live my Catholic faith out and be joyful and love the people that God has put in my life. Because if you can't love the people in your life, you'll never love your enemies. And what's what's what's actually crazy is those stupid SETAs that I'm talking about right now, I was the only one that actually gave a crap about those kids. I was the only one that gave a crap about those kids. They don't, they even the other SEDEs hate them. They don't have a single friend in the world, and I wanted to be friends with them. I thought they were funny at first. They're a bunch of degenerates. They don't know how to treat people, they don't know how to it's just I really want you people to really understand the freaking treasure God has given us. Yeah, it's just like I get, I get, I get I get heated about it because it's like we are supposed to literally be salt and light, like we're the light of the world, we're supposed to be drawing people into this thing, but I'm telling you, like the people I encounter want what I have, they want what I have. I don't know what sanctity looks like, but I don't think everything looks the same. Like you look at all this, like we read about the saints, and like there's this picture perfect thing that they they present to you when you read about a saint from the Middle Ages and they had all these miracles in them, but I don't know it like I don't think I could ever be that, but I know I have this charge to love people and care about people. And if I see somebody hurting, I reach out to them and I try to try to try to offer anything I can. When I see one of God's children hurting, I want to be there for them. And and I didn't have that in me before. I have this like burning desire to to be there for people now. It's like my wife actually says, she's like, You just you're always worried about everyone. My heart is just always worried about this one, I'm worried about this one. How's this one doing? How's this one doing? I'm constantly, I was like, I got a million people I'm trying to maintain friendships with because I know they're lonely and they need somebody, and I just want to see if I can offer anything for them because we're all so freaking broken because we live on the freaking internet and we don't have personal relationships anymore. We don't have like it's we there needs to be more men's groups, and people need to get together. That's why I love like Keith Nestor and Mike Pantile, what those guys are doing. Like, Keith Nestor's going to a men's group and he's and he's and he's meeting up all he's not doing shop content on the internet, he's just trying to bring the joy of the gospel to people. Mike Pantile, he's like going through all this stuff, he's helping men become men because none of us had good fathers, man. None of us did. No, I wish somebody had this conversation with me when I was younger because I could have learned this stuff 20 years earlier than I did. It took me until I was in my early 30s to even start to pick up on it. And it's like I I watched, like, I've been watching Tim Gordon, and it's like he has so many amazing insights, and he's like, we all understand the destruction that feminism has wrought on us, but how do we as men fix it? And the thing is, the reason women are broken is because all of us are infected by feminism. But if men are men, women will be women, and if you meet a girl in your life, if you act like a man and guard her soul and be the shepherd to her soul, I promise you, your girl will look at you with googly eyes, man. But if you're sneaking off and looking at stuff on your phone, if you're if you're if you have secrets from your wife, if you're hiding things from her, she's gonna know. Your wife needs to know I save every ounce of my sexual energy for you. You are the only one I have eyes for. I would never dare risk what we have to go look at something other than you. My children need to know that. My wife needs to know that, and I promise you guys, when that happens, your home will be great, you'll have a beautiful life at home. 100% a woman can sense something going on with a with a man. 100%. And the and the thing is, like, so many of us, like like we so many of us didn't have like good spiritual fathers to to keep us from falling into these bad every single guy I know, me included, all of us just ruined by the ravages of the internet in those early years. Access to things we never should have had access to, and our parents just basically stood back, like, oh, okay, you know, well, you can't tell your kids what to do. No conversations with their kids. They didn't, it's like they didn't have a they they and the thing is they were robbed of a father. It's like we've lost what it means to be a man, and I'm telling you, we can fix everything if men just act like Christ in the world, act like Christ in the world, every every conversation you have, every single person you talk to, be Christ in that world. And look, this is a set of a contest priest, like that's why I said, like, I don't I I'm talking about the online guys. I don't know. Um I don't know where you go to church. If you go to an SSPX chapel, if you go to a set A chapel, I don't care. Telling you guys, live your Catholic faith out. Don't worry about the stuff in Rome, don't worry about anything, worry about being a saint. It is the only freaking thing that actually matters, it's the only thing that's gonna save you and the people you love around you. You're a spiritual father to every person you encounter. Nick, you brought your aren't you bringing your parents into the church?
SPEAKER_00No, they're they're they're not the world's most enthusiastic about being Catholic because I think that every single group outside the Catholic Church um can kind of see the problems inside the Catholic Church and they're asking good questions.
SPEAKER_05So, you know what would change their mind? I do know what would change their mind. You know what the greatest argument for anything is? Like the only the only convincing argument to me is sanctity. Like the the real proof of Catholicism is the saints.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I I I would say that that's a good argument. The issue that I find is that um, aside from just again, like my initial question still stands. My initial question that I that I posed at the beginning of how can the church be doing what she's doing uh whenever she teaches because we're at the end of the world, Nick, and you can think we're not, but we are.
SPEAKER_05We're at the end of the freaking story right now, Nick, and there's no other explanation. None of them. There's lots of other explanations. No, there isn't. Not for what we're seeing.
Options Nick Sees And Pushback
SPEAKER_00You know, it's interesting as I as I ponder that section of the catechism that you brought up. Again, it's kind of like, well, you know, so you talk about a messianic uh religion, I think that's the quotation or something like that. There's like a new messianism.
SPEAKER_05Think about what that is. That's a that's a false messiah that mimics Christ, right? So it's like so it's like God is all mercy. Oh, he doesn't care what you do, he's all mercy. Everyone goes to heaven. Yeah, that's like pseudo-messianism.
SPEAKER_00My question, though, is that uh I don't know how you can, on the one hand, like and I'm just speaking generally, I'm just like trying to process it in my mind. I don't know on the one hand how like you can hold that position, but then also at the same time make the statement that it's like the same church that teaches you this statement in the catechism is also going to be the same church that persecutes Christ at the end of time.
SPEAKER_05The same men that sat on the seat of Moses are the same men that persecuted Christ the first time. There's going to be bad men in the hierarchy. There's going to be evil, wicked men in the hierarchy that persecute the faithful, just like the Dan Hedron did.
SPEAKER_00But my question that's why I go to my original question, which is again striking at the core of the doctrinal changes, which is like says, which the Catholic Church has historically said is an impossibility.
SPEAKER_05Okay, I mean you want to be you you're you're looking to get so then go set a Nick. See how happy I am. I'm trying to help you here because I'm trying to give you how this actually works. There's only one way it works for me. And if I'm wrong, great. You think I want the world to end? I know I here's what I know I have eternal life in me now because I have a joy that is beyond this world in my life. Maybe not on the show when I'm ranting, but like in my day-to-day life, I cannot tell you. Like, I sometimes I feel like my heart's going to explode because of the amount of love that God has put around me. And you anybody can have that. Like, go, like, I it I don't it just you you look and see what is happening in the world right now, and people, people like what it's literally all everything is lining up right now. I don't, I don't, I don't know. I don't know how I don't know how anybody comes to any other conclusion. Like, I really don't know how anybody comes to any other conclusion. It's we are coming up on so many different things, co like coalescing at one point. What they're doing in Israel right now is did you watch Tucker's thing today with that with the Christian from Israel talking about what they do to Christians in Palestine? You have no idea what what they're doing over there. Yes, I do. Yeah, it it's so insane. And you go back and you just read Genesis and read the promises to Abraham. I will I will give the nations as your inheritance. What they are doing over there is trying to take imagine the old testament without Christ fulfilling the promises, they are trying to fulfill the scriptures carnally right now. It is happening right now in our lifetime. God chose us to live during this time. Do you know how many saints wrote about our time? Like we're really not worthy to live in this time, but God chose us to live in this time. So if we could get on the internet and we can complain about everything, or we can share God's love with people and try to make saints. I don't I don't know what I don't know, I don't have any other answer for you. I don't have any other answer for you because that is the only that is how I see it, and I know the story of Christianity. I have read through the scriptures my whole freaking adulthood. I've read through them and I know where we are in the story. And the people that don't think that's where we are in the story, I don't know what story you're reading. I actually don't think you believe the story. We're talking about the great apostasy that was foretold, the great falling away. Like, what how do you not see it?
SPEAKER_04I mean, there's been plenty of people who thought they've seen it in the past too. And so okay, they've all been wrong.
Trusting Christ’s Promise Amid Confusion
SPEAKER_05Okay, so be angry, be bitter. I hope I'm wrong. The two aren't the two aren't necessarily connected. I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong, but even if I'm wrong, my position makes sense of it, and I'm able to actually live a Catholic life because it seems like a lot of Trads can't live a Catholic life because all they're worried about is what the Pope is doing. Oh my goodness, why he's not in your why? Why are you worried about what the Pope is doing? I don't I know it's not helping your spiritual life, is all I'm telling you guys. There are some people that can handle it, but some people can't, and if you're one of those people that can't, then don't do it because really what's important is your soul. And if you're one of those guys, if you're a Michael Hitchborn and you could dig into this stuff and you still have that, like that's different. But I I think a lot of people have a hard time with this stuff and they obsess on it, and they need they like Nick, your your brain needs like a perfect answer for something, and this is where faith comes in, and you have to just trust Christ in his promise when he said the gates of hell will not prevail, he promised us that. You either believe Christ's promise or you don't, because you're on the verge right now of either going Senate Vacantist, which I'm telling you, I don't I don't think you'll handle that well. I don't think that'll be good for you. I don't want to be excited, or you could lose your faith, Nick. I'm telling you, this stuff is dangerous, and even presenting that question to people is it I'm not saying like that that you can't bring forth the, but I'm just asking you when you when you became Catholic, like what what were you expecting?
SPEAKER_00I think like many converts, converts are of course converted for a plethora of reasons, but there's plenty of converts who are converted with the claim that this is the one true church founded by Jesus Christ who preserves their teaching, faithful and unblemished and unchanging for 2,000 years. I think that's a simple, a simple convert uh pitch that's given up.
Closing Reflections And Community Notes
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean that was part of my part of my reversion was like, oh my goodness, the church stood tall on contraception and nobody else did, right? I understand that. I mean, I could get the whiteboard out and I could show you how technically the thing hasn't changed. Like, I don't think the hierarchy or the church is asking any of us to do anything that will like they're not, they're not, there's no doctrine they have changed. Like, even if they're doing uh a Morse Letizia, it's like that priest that blesses a gay, that he's going to hell, but you're not gay, that doesn't affect you. They can't they can't require the faithful to do something that will send them to hell. No way, Nick. If the if the if there was no promise from Christ right now, we would have what the Anglican church has. The church would look just like the Anglican church. You'd have women, you'd have women bishops, you'd have women priests. That's that's that's that's where I that's what I mean. I don't I don't know. This is this is like I I'm not I'm not saying this to rag on you at all, Nick. Like I'm I'm not and I hope you don't take this like personally like that. Like I'm um I I want anyone who listens to this show to have a joyful, meaningful, fulfilling life. And the way to do that is still the Catholic faith and the Catholic sacraments in the church. I go sometimes I'll go to a novus ordo, and I still have and I and I'm still able to avoid mortal sin. It's been years since I've had to go to confession, other than like missing mass on it, you know, or something like that. But the real ones. I struggle with my whole life. I have not, it's been years, and it's nothing but the grace of God can explain that. And the grace that is given through the sacraments. And if you yeah, if you upset if you listen to these these men, yeah, that's it's probably it's not it's not real Catholicism, I'll tell you that. You listen to Cardinal Super, that's not real Catholicism. It's a pseudo-messianism, don't follow those men. But I promise you, there are still really good priests out there who love the Catholic faith, who will guard your soul, and those are the men you need to look for right now. Those are the men you need to have in your life right now that really care about you and really want to make sure that you are going to have life with God forever. Like God is our father, He wants He wants to spend eternity with you. You have to want to spend eternity with Him. If if you fall back on anything, just fall back on the sacraments and fall back on Christ. Like go back and just read the words of Christ, they will literally feed life into your soul. It's uh I yeah, Nick, I don't I'm not, I'm not like I'm not saying this just to you. That's why it's like I didn't I don't want you to think I'm like being harsh on you. This is to all that all of us. I'm I'm including myself in it, because me and Rob did this stuff for years. We would point pinpoint every little thing, and I'm I'm only giving you I'm only giving you guys advice that I've seen flourish in my own life. I've seen this in my own life because I used to, I uh like your fears are a hundred percent reasonable. It's a it's the anger you feel is 100% holy anger. You have a right to be angry, you have a right to be confused, you have a right to be all the feelings you have are totally justified. I'm trying to give you guys an avenue to get away from them because they're not helpful to some people, and some people can handle them. Some people I had to stop watching Anthony Stein in the morning. It was just, it was like it was it was putting a darkness in my soul and it was affecting my my my my relationships because I was just constantly worried. My children, I can never talk to my kids about like the apocalyptic stuff. I never have ever like really shared the problems in the church with my kids because I want I just want my kids to experience like the unadulterated Catholic faith. I don't want them to know about all the my kids will like they'll never be able to handle that, and that's kind of our responsibility and the people that we have in our lives, like with your parents too, man. Like show them the glory of you of what a sacramental life looks like because there's nothing better than living a sacramental life. It's like what the gift God has given us with the priesthood to forgive our sins and to give us his very life itself every Sunday at Mass. I'm telling you guys, we have the Pearl of Great Price, and I don't I don't want anybody getting dragged into the to the muck and letting it destroy your soul because you guys like you have your soul is this ball of light that needs to shine to the world, man. I can't I cannot tell you guys how many people my freaking life has affected. Like it blows my mind sometimes how many, and not from the show, even like the show is on a whole nother level. The the men that I'm taking on this pilgrimage, you don't understand how excited these men are to spend time with me and and the priest that's coming with us. Like it's just this is this is the way forward because the way we've done things under Francis doesn't work. Like, I want to bring people to traditional Catholicism. I want people to see how beautiful a traditional mass is and this treasure that we lost. And the only way they're gonna see it is if they see a complete change in the way all of us operate. I don't know if you guys want to give me any pushback or anything on that, you know.
SPEAKER_04It's I just I just don't know how what of the last 48 minutes you will want me to do. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_05I know I got on my soapbox tonight. I know I got on my soapbox tonight.
SPEAKER_04So how's that going, everyone? Mine is beautiful so far. Like, I'm not even kidding.
SPEAKER_0548 minutes. I love you, Nick. You don't under you don't understand how much I love you, Nick. When I saw you put that video out yesterday, my heart.
SPEAKER_04If I hear the phrase you don't understand one more time, and I'm sorry. Mew to you the rest of the night.
SPEAKER_00All right, cool. My my lint's uh 48 hours in, so are we even 48 hours in ticket back? We're something hours in, so kind of chill. Um, when I stop talking, you guys get mad at me for ranting, but when I stop talking, um yeah, I I I just uh I mean I mean if if people want me to respond, it's like I mean, I I of course appreciate Anthony's perspective. Um I think Anthony's perspective comes from a good per good point of view and a good place. I mean, he's desiring for people to be holy, he's desiring for people to seek after Christ, and he's wanting that um grace-filled life to be something that shines forward and converts other people. I think that that's of course a completely valid thing. Um, and I'm not and I'm not opposed to that. One thing that I've tried to tell people in my kind of um rough journey has been I'm not wanting to make definitive claims and say that I am leaving the church or you should leave the church. I've always told them that I want to be realistic and say, look, my intellect, like many people's, is darkened. I have pride, and I want to be humble and recognize that there are people who are way smarter than me, way holier than me, that might have good answers. Here are the questions that I have, and I just hope that people can address them. Um, because you know, Galatians talks about Galatians 6, 1 talks about how if you know a brother falls, kind of like a lot of people were accusing me of yesterday, you know, you're supposed to restore him in meekness. So in you know, kindness and and uh try to help them along the way. And so that's all I'm kind of trying to seek is answers to my questions. I'll play Candace Owens and say I'm just asking questions.
SPEAKER_05And they're valid questions, you have every right to. And like here's the thing though there's something about our faith that is a mystery, and it's always been a mystery, like there's something mysterious about our faith, and it's not always like you don't understand how prophecy is fulfilled until after it's fulfilled, and there's going to seem I I see it like it is the reason Christ gave us that promise that the gates of hell will not prevail is because it will look like the gates of hell have prevailed. It is going to look as and you all you have is the word of God, the word of God Himself, his promise, his word that the gates of hell won't prevail. And I believe with all my heart that he will not break that promise to us. So I understand the the intellectual incongruity of it all. I'm not denying that. I have the Nick, I have the same exact questions. Like I look at it and I'm like, what the hell happened at the council? Something happened at the council, something happened. Every single one of us that really believe the faith wish they didn't do what they did. Like the people that hate tradition, like you have to understand. It's like it, it's even even the even the man. If you get into the into the Israel thing, oh I knew it. If you get if you get into it, like the idea that Catholics can support Israel, you have to understand these the the spirit that we're talking about, like you to go back to the Sanhedrin. What was the Sanhedrin? They hated God. Like people want people want to treat them like they're like we're dealing with, and I don't want this to arouse any kind of like it's not everyone, it's the the it's the elite who are in power pushing the crazy stuff at the top. I'll leave it at that because I don't want anybody to mistake me saying like every every person or anything, it's nothing like that. But the elite who are in power pushing to expand the borders of Israel, what they are doing is trying to bring back the Davidic kingdom. They they see the promises of the old testament and they created their own God. And Jesus literally said to these men, Your father is the devil. That is what you're doing. When you see these bishops who hate tradition, it's the same thing. They hate the Catholic faith, they hate it, they want this nonsense. Oh, God forgives everybody, everybody goes to heaven. Don't follow those men. But we all we all know the Catholic faith, we all know the Catholic faith. It's available to every one of us. We live in a time where it's accessible to every single one of us, so and you know what's true and what's not, because the church did teach it for 2,000 years. So when you see one of these men in the hierarchy contradict it, you can disregard what they say. You can warn people, you can tell people, hey, this is this is off. But you can't let it affect your soul. You can't let and and if and if you are one of those people, I don't mean you, like if anybody out there is one of those people that this stuff is getting you down, get away from it. It does not lead to life, don't consume it. Like, renew your mind, fill yourself with things that like like go walk in the spirit, guys. Stop stop living in carnal things, stop walking in the spirit. Rob is disassociating.
SPEAKER_04I tried to click on it, but it was moving too fast. You know, ant really did get more bitter after the coy incident.
SPEAKER_05You know something though? Like, I know Rob rolls his eyes at me a lot and stuff, but I know he agrees with me. Maybe not about the end of the world stuff, not about the end of the world, not about the end of the world stuff, but the other stuff. I know because Rob and I have conversations off air, and the two of us talk about this stuff a lot and and the importance of and it and the conversations he and I had about getting away from certain topics because it was bad for both of us, and you have to know yourself. It really does come down to that. You have to know yourself. Like, I can take things in small doses now and stuff. No, I'm literally quoting St. Paul, so I don't know what to tell you guys. Like it's looking for backup right now. Oh man. Um, all right. I I would like to uh I'm I think we're gonna end it there. We're gonna end it there. There's not much to do. We can go through super chats real quick.
SPEAKER_0455 minutes of you of you talking, like, ah, we're done for the night, guys.
SPEAKER_05I mean, if you guys want to say stuff, say away. Feed Nick funds. All right, we gotta give Nick five bucks. I'm not in give it up at this point, Nick. Uh, let's see. Bobby said, Don't join them in apostasy, just in the opposite direction. The faithlessness of dying gay old men is not the reason to abandon Christ. I don't think Nick is abandoning the church, guys. Like that, like he was very clear about that. I think he was just he was just venting a little bit. And I don't want to like, I know what you were doing there, Nick. Like you were just being honest and like opening yourself up, and people took it like you're having this crisis of faith. I don't think that's what was going on with Nick. Nick was just being honest, and I and he was he was describing something every one of us feel like there's nothing wrong with what Nick said. Like every one of us can feel that way. I wasn't trying to say there's something wrong with how with feeling that way. I'm just trying to, I'm just trying to uh tell you what worked for me. That's all. Uh uh and the things that worked for me really did work for me. Praying for you, Nick. I definitely recommend reading Sheevan's Mysteries of Christianity for Lent, great spiritual depth and theological rigor.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you had a good debate uh on Redeem Zuma's channel recently, so congratulations.
SPEAKER_05Um, eight minutes behind, but Anne's cooking tonight. I know some of you enjoyed it, I know some of you hated it. Become detached from yourself and your desires and attach yourself to God's will. Sometimes it's not so obvious andor easy to follow, but it's perfect. St. Francis de Tales made me realize that. So the other thing is look, there's the intellectual knowledge. Every one of us know to be Catholic means to suffer, right? We all know that as Catholics. Like Christ came through this, Christ came to redeem our suffering. Like our suffering is how we participate in salvation. We all know that intellectually, and then all of a sudden, some suffering comes our way, and we're like, nah, but I don't like this suffering. I don't like this suffering. Of course, you don't like this suffering. But this is the one God gave us, and he gave it to us so that we can become Christ. Like you the divinization is the point. How does Christ react when he's being persecuted? You're going to be persecuted. You just didn't think it would come from your hierarchy, you thought it was going to come from the outside, and you were comfortable with that. Like, that's what we all thought. Every one of us, I thought it too. I thought, okay, you know, we'll go through persecution, but at least the pope will have our back. And then we realize, wait a minute, the pope's the one doing it. It's like, okay, reset. Let's figure it out. We've seen this story before, is all I'm telling you guys. Literally, have seen this story before. Like any of you who love typology, you're watching a typological fulfillment right now. What are the doctrinal changes? I'm not aware of any doctrinal changes. I'm confused about that. Do you know, Nick? Actual doctrinal changes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, the what I mean, again, some of them are disputed at infinitum on on YouTube and publication, but the death penalty, religious liberty, ecumenism, things along that nature.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I mean, the things the look, the SSPX, maybe we'll do the SSPX letter on the other side because I it's a really interesting letter. Um, no.
SPEAKER_00All right, so we don't have to. On a slight, on a slight question I have for Rob, can you brandish a knife but not a firearm on YouTube and get away with it? Yes. Interesting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they're they're there new live streaming rules around firearms. If a firearm is showing on camera during a live streaming without you being out of range, they kill the stream within seconds. They do it so that people don't commit certain things on camera.
SPEAKER_00But you can like bring a sword or a buoy knife and then no one does anything. I guess so. Yeah, that's so funny.
SPEAKER_05Um, yeah, I don't want anybody to think I think Nick was wrong in his video. Like all the things Nick brought up are legitimate. Like, I'm not saying anything about that. Um that's not that's not my point. My point my point is actually like like the the the I'm I'm I'm really talking to the men, like I'm like I'm I I can't tell you guys how important it is for you to be men and suffer with a stoicism.
SPEAKER_04And no with stoic stoicism is kind of condemned by the church, man.
SPEAKER_05You you know it's a stoic, a stoic face. Like you you do you you can't you we have to not complain, like we have to suffer joyfully. Like if if you go back and read Saint Paul, like no matter what my no matter what circumstances are in life, I'm joyful. No matter what, if I'm shipwrecked out at sea, I'm joyful. If I'm being lashed with 40 lashes, I'm joyful. I think a lot of Catholics really need to go back and read the epistles, man. Like go back and read Saint Paul, go back and read the gospels. I I I don't think enough of us, I don't think we spend nearly enough time in them. And our faith is not meant to be exclusively an intellectual pursuit. If you have all if all you have is good apologetics, you stumble like this when you don't have an answer. Grace is in the sacraments, not not in knowing more. Yeah, I mean, look, I think I think a lot of the, especially converts, are gonna struggle with this because they came in because they found all of these intellectual problems in Protestantism and they thought they had the cure in Catholicism. And when they come into the church, they find that what's happening in the situation right now is a huge crisis, and it's a difficult one to manage because you're you're finding yourself in a in the Catholic Church, but the hierarchy's acting Protestant, and they're trying to make the church Protestant, but faithless hierarchy have are nothing new. What's new is the amount and the levels of height that they've gotten to. And I'm not like I said, I'm not giving you guys an answer to that. I'm I I just see where we are and what it looks like we're coming up on, and what it looks like we're coming up on is the is the end of the story. I don't know how long that takes, could be a decade, but it's like it's been 60 years it's been going on. It could be another 40 years. I don't know, I don't know what it is, but I mean, come on, and that's how you get away with it. Well, no, because I really don't think it's case of like by the end of Trump's presidency, we see the world at war. I think that we look at the Fatima prophecies and they all talk about. I mean, they I I do think that we don't know what the uh the the the reign of Mary's immaculate heart looks like. I don't, you know, I don't know how that plays out. I don't know the details of how it plays out, I don't think anybody does, but I do know what I'm seeing, and I do know that we're at the end of the story.
SPEAKER_04I just want you to know when you're 85 and on your deathbed, I'm gonna push your wife out of the way and make sure the last words you hear are me saying, I was right, I told you so.
SPEAKER_05Rob, I will be like, Thank God you were right. God gave me another no, no, you're gonna you're gonna give me another 40 years to annoy you. I will be thrilled. 40 more years of Rob dealing with that. We'll be old men, you gotta understand, you gotta understand. You don't understand, man. I don't know what to tell you. Are you talking about a recent council since Pope Leo? What happened? What doctrine changed? I don't think this doctrine could change. How is that going to affect the LM with the LM? Probably left my oh, I'm so confused right now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, uh, no councils taking place unless uh I was really out of it and everyone else was.
SPEAKER_05Nick's point is that the church is doing things that she has previously said she is metaphysically incapable of doing, saying, Well, it's the end times, doesn't solve the problems. I think it I think it doesn't solve the problem, it explains it. Like you're you're it you're looking at uh the hospital closed, empty Antima's rapture. That's funny. Oh man. Um, no, I I think if if you actually understand how the story played out of Christ's first coming, people didn't understand it then. Does the you read last week's gospel and it was the the disciples? If you if you go to the Latin mass last week, you go and the disciples, Jesus tells them the but the the Christ is going to be handed over, delivered, suffer, per uh be killed, and rise in three days. And they understood these words not. It's like he literally told you what's gonna happen, they did not understand these words. The church literally told us what's gonna happen. I don't understand how this is happening. What do you mean? This is literally how it always works. I don't see how it's actually I I actually think it's baffling that you guys don't see it the way I do. I don't I don't see how you could see the things you're saying and not think it's apocalyptic. Like, how do you how does that how does that work in your brain? How do you say the church for 2,000 years taught this and now it does this? But there's gonna be a reformation? Like, what you think this thing gets fixed on a human level? Like, you really think it gets fixed on a human level? Do you have any idea how bad it really is? I don't think you do. I don't think you really understand the rock. I don't think I don't know. I get you guys think I'm wrong. Think I'm wrong. All I'm telling you is if you think I'm wrong, and when things get way worse, it's gonna be very difficult. Here's the real thing if you do not have a deep devotion to our lady, you won't make it when the sack when the mass stops. Because we're going to be led into the desert by our lady. The the the in Revelation 12, she's crying out with hunger pangs as she takes us out into the desert. All you are going to have is your relationship with our lady, and if you don't have a deep devotion to her, you're going to be in deep trouble. And if you are if you haven't rooted mortal sin out of your life, I can't I can't stress this enough because like it's so easy to be on your phone. And I see I see all these Catholic accounts on X going, tell X to ban porn. And it's like, if you're seeing that in your algorithm, that's because you're searching. I was gonna say I've never understood. I've never seen that on X. I've never seen it. Because I don't look at that film. So if you're writing X needs to ban porn, it's because you're looking for it and it's coming up in your algorithm. So you're telling on yourself. There is a huge difference suffering the trials of the church when you have a wife and children than facing this alone. Yeah, you know how much scarier it is when you have a wife and children? The things I'm talking about, you know, you know, that's the only thing that scares me because I'm not afraid to suffer martyrdom myself. I'm afraid they're gonna make me watch my children be martyred. You single guys don't know the grace you could possibly have. I don't want anybody to because I'm like, it's terrible to be lonely and single, but I'm what I'm telling you guys that are lonely and single, if you if you just listen to me, maybe you won't be.
SPEAKER_00Like it's being single's not all that bad. You have more money in the wallet.
SPEAKER_05If me and Rob found wives, I would buy more guns than I do now, and that's just I mean, when we had Father Amato on the other night, I said like there are good things about marriage and there are good things about the priesthood. But I know a lot of men that are in marriages that are miserable, and those are the men too that I want to talk to because it's like I my like if you guys knew how bad my marriage was at one point and how good it is now, the things I'm telling you are the reason my marriage is good now. Like my wife used to nag me. She used to be a nag y feminist. Not a feminist, but like she used to be a nag because there was something wrong with me. And then once I fixed myself, I can't tell you the way she looks at me now, man. It's like I I just I just I don't want to let you guys down. I'm not putting on a front when I talk about this stuff. I'm not faking it, I'm not lying to you. You're not gonna like I I'm I'm being dead serious with you guys about this stuff. It's the most important stuff that we talk about on this show. But we are coming to a close. Nick, do you want to jump on locals with us or you gotta go?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go and uh catch dinner and all of that, but uh I do appreciate your uh your uh impassioned homily.
SPEAKER_05It's Lent. I told everybody we're talking about spiritual things during Lent.
SPEAKER_00I'll definitely uh yeah, take what you think about it. There was no we talking, there was you talking.
SPEAKER_05I should I had my brother-in-law said to me, He goes, uh, we were talking at my wife's uh families like last time we were with them, and you and we were like, they ask me questions. I never bring it up, they always ask me questions, and they were talking about all this stuff, and my brother-in-law was just like, Why didn't you become a priest? I'm like, I am a priest, I am literally a priest. I'm just married and I'm I don't offer sacraments or the confession, but like I am a priest, like that. I I see my role as a priest, and I and I care for people as if I am their spiritual father. Everybody in my life, everybody in my life, I chalk and treat like that. Like I am their spiritual father, and I care for their soul, even the people that are difficult. And if you do that, like it brings such meaning to your life. I can't express it enough. Like, you will find your own. You gotta be careful with that though. I know you don't have the authority with most people, eh? I don't mean like that, Rob. I mean just caring about them. I don't mean like giving them spirit, like oh, this is what you need. I don't do that.
SPEAKER_04I just Well, you did you did just do it for an hour?
SPEAKER_05No, Rob, the way I do it is very much in my lane. I'm not I'm not I don't have authority over them like that, anything like that. It's it's loving people because they're God's children, like like caring about them and trying to love them the way Christ loves them. There is a domestic Iceland that is very different from the mar from the celibate priesthood. And no, there are married priests. There are there are uh you know the ordinary guys and eastern priests, eastern Catholic priests. Umrectorly with Vatican II taught all the baptized are priests, prophet, and king. But yes, we laity are not ministerial sacred or priests, 100%. It wasn't just Vatican II that taught that, by the way, it was St. Peter.
SPEAKER_04Oh, the sponsors are long gone, guys. There's no point in doing it now, I think. Nah, let's do Knickknacks. I know after that hour I need one or two. Nick Mac is about halfway through without thinking I had a knick knack in it. Without thinking something, and I I I did it and chewed it.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I had the camera off. Nicknacks.com. Go to nicknack.com. Is it nicknack? Nicknack.com. Nicknack.com use code 8025% for your first time, for your first order. And uh there's no nicotine in this product at all, and it's a smoking cessation. Oh wait, no, I'm kidding. Just kidding. Nick Nats contains the nicotine product, and nicotine is an addictive substance. It is definitely not a smoking cessation device, even though I use it to quit smoking for Lent.
SPEAKER_04No, for New Year's. I use it to stop myself from starting smoking from listening to it.
SPEAKER_05Oh man. Okay, you guys are gonna miss me when I'm gone. That's all I'll tell you.
SPEAKER_00Of course you will, Anthony. You guys are gonna miss me when I'm gone. I meant that. Of course you will.
SPEAKER_05You're gonna miss me when I'm gone. Well, I would like to have you on more frequently, Nick. Is that are you cool with that? Well, I won't, I won't do one of these next time you come on. We'll just we'll just have you come off with like a topic. I will mute him next time. No, but I want I want to bring you back into the fold, have you come come back? We'll have actual subjects to talk about, maybe. Yeah, when we have like, you know, we'll we'll we'll we'll we'll try to pick a trent horn video and goof on him. Yeah, trend horn. Honestly, you know what? I'll do it now. You guys want me to do the trend horn rant? I got a trend horn rant.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, no. Make people pay for locals for that.
SPEAKER_05I got a Trent Horn rant. Make Trent pay for locals because I know he's watching. All right, Nick, we'll go to locals and we'll save the trend horn rant for you. No, I don't know. I might do it over there, but uh, yeah, I'll probably do it on locals and then we'll we'll we'll find something good for Nick to come back on soon. Um, Nick, we're all praying for you. Pray for me. Uh all all anybody else that's struggling with the same issues that Nick and myself and Rob. Because don't think Rob and me and everybody else aren't struggling with the same exact things Nick is.
SPEAKER_04Maybe if we had had a chance to talk about that, we could have discussed that a little. They could have muted me.
SPEAKER_05Um uh call-in show is next not next Thursday, the third the Thursday at the March 5th call-in show with Joshua Charles. Joshua Charles is coming on March Thursday, March 5th for a call-in show. And we're gonna stream it to our channel and eternal Christendom. So that we have that to look forward to. Um, Trent, uh, I'll I'm I mean, man, just him even elevating that kid Taco Talks is so disgusting in my opinion. He'll he'll he'll have Taco Talks on, but he won't have Christian Wagner on. It's like it's actually gross. That kid, that kid Taco Talks, all he does is blaspheme our lady in the most vile ways. And Trent will have him on, but he's never mentioned our names. God forbid he mentions our name. Or have Wagner on, or Nick Cavazzos. All right. Yeah, he's the worst. All right. Um Rob has a really special outro video right now, and you guys should watch the whole thing because it's basically all the recurring guests of Avoiding Babylon make a make a make a cameo in it. So Nick, we'll uh we'll set something up and we'll get you on soon.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, sounds good. God bless everybody. Take care. Adios. Where's the video? There it is.
SPEAKER_02New light is dreamy, now is the darkness vanished away. Brought here to you in the light of this day.
SPEAKER_03And the way to the star and we saw it. We saw the
