My business was doing okay, but it wasn't where I wanted it to be. I still felt a lack. I still felt like I had limits that I wanted to break through. I wanted more wealth, I wanted more abundance, I wanted more freedom that money could give me, and I wanted to be able to go and travel and not have to be in the salon all the time.

Speaker 3:Hello everybody and welcome back to the Abundant and Aligned podcast. I'm so excited for today's episode as we are sitting down with one of my clients who I've been working with now for over 12 months. She joined me inside the Wealthy Woman, which, if you're new around here, is my money program. It would have been September last year and then she has done both rounds of her empire. She came to the immersion on the Gold Coast the other weekend. So Kendall is actually a huge part of my world and I, now that I'm thinking about it, I can't believe it's taken me this long to get you on the podcast. Have you been dodging that? Well, yeah, I'm really excited I've got Kendall here with me today.
Speaker 3:Thank you so much for saying yes to this episode. I know it's a little bit daunting coming on a show, and even more so when I'm going to make you spend the next half an hour just talking about yourself and your business, but something we should all do more often celebrate our wins and just sit down with someone and just chat about all of the growth that we've had. So that's essentially what we're doing on today's episode. We are just diving into why Kendall joined all of those programs, what she thought about her empire because we are opening up 2025 applications very soon and, most importantly, all of the incredible success that she has had this year and that I've had the honor to be a part of. So welcome to the show, kendall. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to be here. Yay, so excited. So Kendall's from Tasmania and I just realized I'm sitting here in a singlet top and you've got a long sleeve top on. So what's the weather like in Tassie today?
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's actually warm today, or semi-warm. It's a bit windy, but still long sleeve weather. We're not in nice Gold Coast warm 24 degree weather.
Speaker 3:Yeah, were you just in heaven when you were up here the other weekend?
Speaker 1:It was so good. I was just like stripped off for the second. I got off the plane and I was like living my best life.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I know I can't wait for you to actually make the move. You will love it up here, which I'm sure we'll get to throughout your episode today. But for the listeners, a little bit of an intro about who Kendall is.
Speaker 1:Hey everyone, my name is Kendall and I am from Launceston, tasmania, I'm 33. I'm a wife and a mum of two boys and I own a lash and brow salon here in the city central. And, yeah, I am just about to launch a beauty business and mindset coaching business. So that's really exciting. A little bit nerve wracking, but yeah, that's what Jess is helping me with Yay and also me.
Speaker 3:She better introduce the coaching business. She better mention the coaching business.
Speaker 1:I didn't do that at the event and I wish I did.
Speaker 3:You dropped it in there. Well, I'm excited to dive into all parts of wish I did. You dropped it in there. Well, I'm excited to dive into all parts of your life today. You are doing it all. You are a mom, you're a wife and you are a business owner times two. So the fact that you are doing all of this, I think, will be a real inspiration to a lot of the listeners, because life can get quite busy and sometimes we wonder how the hell we're going to manage all of these things. So you're a testament that you can do it. You've just got to have some good time management, which I know you have grown over your years in business, which is what you're now going to teach those who join you inside the coaching industry on how to do all of that. But can you please take us right back? How did you end up in business and what was that very early journey like for you?
Speaker 1:So I started my salon in 2018. So, going on six years, I fell into entrepreneurship. I just worked in a salon for someone else and I wanted to provide a better service for the clients that I was servicing. I really I was under the pump a lot. They didn't understand quality lash extensions and they were sort of making me pump out a beautiful lash full set in an hour. So I wanted to work out a way that I could give my clients a really beautiful set, not have to rush, not have to like drop that quality and offer that to my clients. And also, where I was working, it was really long days, really like draining days as well, and I want I never saw my kids, I never saw my husband, so I really the big thing that I wanted to start a business for was just to be able to drop my kids at school and pick them up.
Speaker 3:So yeah, that flexibility. That's literally why I started my business too. Um, so you started business, and was it a success from day one, or what was that first couple of years like in in business?
Speaker 1:yeah. No, I wish it was a success from day one. Um no, I struggled. I was shit. I had no idea what I was doing. I basically was like I'm going to have all the control in my business and be able to do what I want. But I'd literally just created another high demand job for myself. I was answering clients all the time. I was, you know, running around. I was leaving the kids to go and do clients at the salon all the time. I never saw the kids again, so I did get to pick them up and drop them off at school, but I was literally just dumping them wherever I can because I had to get back to the salon.
Speaker 1:So I was also struggling with money. I was struggling with you know just direction. I had no idea where I wanted to take the business. I didn't even know what a business was going to look like for me. I just sort of knew I wanted to provide a better service to my clients and be able to pick the kids up, and that was it for me.
Speaker 1:But basically it got to the point where I was like drowning in debt. I literally was not making any money. I was having to borrow money off my husband and something just flipped for me, and it was on my honeymoon. We were honeymooning in Hamilton Island in 2021. And my whole honeymoon I just got private Facebook messages from all of my clients wanting to reschedule appointments, change appointments, book appointments, and then, at that point, I was like this is shit. I can't even rest. I need to take a step back. I need to do something.
Speaker 1:So I actually signed up with another business coach, and she helps me learn things, but there was a bit of a block there, like I I'd hit a wall, I'd hit a ceiling. I learned amazing things and I got so far, but I just didn't know where to next and I still felt like I was capped. I was at a ceiling and I didn't know where to go from there. So then I actually learned about mindset and how to fix your mind in order to break through those barriers and work through other things so that you can push past and really incorporate.
Speaker 1:That's where I sort of dove into the personal development world. I started like really working on my mindset, reading a lot of books. I'd never worked with a mindset coach before, though, so it was kind of just whatever I could find on the internet any books. I could find that was sort of my opening to the world of personal development. But I found that just exponentially grew. I believed in myself more, whereas I never believed in myself and I never took opportunities because I was like, well, what's the point? Whereas when I did start thinking that I was worthy, that I you know I could have everything I wanted, then you start looking for opportunities. So I feel like that was the really pivotal moment of my business where it was just incorporating mindset and strategy.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I love that. Yeah, cause it's not something that we really get told a lot in business in terms of grow your mindset and learn more about yourself. You're just told to work really hard and just keep working harder and harder and harder and if things aren't working well, you're not doing enough, and that's kind of the conditioning when it comes to business. So to get to a point where you're like, okay, well, the hard work isn't actually working or it's not the business that I want to then actually start to approach business from a different way, it can be quite challenging. You're definitely going against that conditioning. So I'm excited to dive into that and what exactly that looked like for you and the impact that had on your business. So, going back to 2021, when you were bombarded in Hamilton Island and you were doing it all, were you just on your own in the business? At that point, did you have no staff?
Speaker 1:yes, I was just on my own then and big mistake I made was not having a salon phone, not having boundaries, not having salon phone where I could separate the two um. But yeah, now I have staff and it's a lot easier and I can um delegate a lot and outsource a lot of things, which it does lighten the load off me a bit, but it's still. I love being present in my business, I love, you know, being there, but just yeah, the weight is off my shoulders a lot.
Speaker 3:Yeah Well, and I think it's having the choice as well. You know like, yeah, you can be there and you can be a big part of your business, but you also don't have to be there. It's a choice, you want to be there. It's not like there's no one else there to do it. Amazing. And then where was business at before you joined the Wealthy Woman last year and then her empire? You mentioned that you were at a point where you knew you had to work on your mindset, but was business otherwise quite successful? At that point, what made you really realize, okay, I've got to go deeper within myself.
Speaker 1:It was I like it was doing okay, my business was doing okay, but it wasn't where I wanted it to be. I still felt a lack. I still felt like I had limits that I wanted to break through. So I guess where I was when I started with the Wealthy Woman and reached out to you and joined that. I wanted more wealth, I wanted more abundance, I wanted more freedom that money could give me and I wanted to be able to go and travel and not have to be in the salon all the time, because I was still in the salon a lot. I was in the salon like five days a week slogging it out. And so the wealthy woman.
Speaker 1:I knew that I had limiting beliefs around money and things from my family. I grew up. I never had anything handed to me. I grew up in a very limited mindset family in the sort that you know, yeah, you go to work, you work really hard, you have to go to uni and get a good job to be able to make good money. I literally said to my nan at Christmas last year that, nan, I'm going to be a millionaire by the time I'm 40. And she was like, well, you don't have long to go.
Speaker 3:So watch me nan. Yeah, I'm doing it now I'm doing it.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, I knew that there was more out there and I, you know, I'd been listening to your podcast and I'd been following you on social media and everything that you said. It was just what I wanted and so I was like I need to be around her and learn all of this and, yeah, it's, it's been amazing.
Speaker 3:I can't yeah at all well, let's talk about that. What has your experience been like? Obviously, the wealthy woman was only a four-week program, but you've been in her empire for the entire year of 2024. You did the first round, which was the first round ever of her empire, and then you moved through and did the second round with me. What has that experience been like? Highlights, and what has that helped with Yep?
Speaker 1:Perfect. So I'll start with the wealthy woman, because that's where I started, really the wealthy woman. I learned so much about how your mind works and your beliefs around money and how you can break through that, and literally didn't even know where it came from. But I, I learned all that. So that was so exciting and that really just clicked in my head and, um, yeah, I broke through the blocks and I and I made more money than ever after doing that program. So that was so exciting and, yeah, like it. Just I used to never want to spend money on myself and I thought I felt guilty if I did, or I should pay that first or I should. But now I, literally I finished up the wealthy woman and after the live call, I jumped on a plane and I took my family to Sydney and I literally went into Gucci and bought myself a thousand dollar pair of shoes. I remember that.
Speaker 1:Yeah. Yeah, I didn't feel guilty. I just I felt wealthy and I felt like, yeah, I deserve this. So that was amazing. Her empire. Like I said, I knew I just needed to be around you. I loved the wealthy woman and I even wrote like reached out to you when that finished. And I was like like reached out to you when that finished and I was like I need more like and you were, you're opening up her empire and the Academy. And I think I reached out to you and I was like which one do I do? I'm coming, but what do?
Speaker 3:I do. You tell me I'll be there.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so you, literally you said that her empire would have suited me better because obviously I have a business. I was making over $20,000 a month, so I signed up. I was a little bit scared with the investment, I will admit. I was like, oh, I remember sitting in bed saying to my husband cause I hadn't finished up with my previous coach yet either, and I was like I don't know what to do. Do I keep going with her or do I go with this new one? And I just knew that I wasn't getting what I needed from the other coach, so I dropped her.
Speaker 1:I signed up with you and it has been so amazing. I, yeah, it's exactly what I wanted. It's incorporating mindset and business strategy and just opening my mind up to so many different things, which has been incredible. I have made so many friendships in that group over both of them. And, yeah, like we got to meet up at the immersion event and that was so special to me. I, just having that connection with these women and then seeing them in person and knowing they've got your back, that was my favourite part of the immersion.
Speaker 1:But, yeah, in terms of I've been able to implement boundaries. I struggled with certain things in my business throughout her empire. I've been able to come out the other side and learn, with your help, how to navigate those things and deal with them. I've got stronger boundaries. I just feel happier in my business and in my life.
Speaker 1:And I had this fear around leaving the girls in the salon, like if I wanted to take a step back. I was lazy or you know, I just felt guilty and I was just trying to be in there as much as possible. But working through that in her empire, I'm like, see, uh, like I'm the boss, I'm off, um, you guys work and you do it all and I'll go home and work on my computer. Yeah, um, it's, it's been amazing and yeah, you've been just incredible and I, I don't know, I love it. It was awesome again when it came to her empire finishing in June. I was like like I'd taken a few hits in that business, which called me into that a little bit as well, but I just I knew I was coming here for a reason. I knew I had more to give and I knew that there was more I wanted to do. So I was when you said I'm going for another round, I was like sign me up.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you literally were like I was hoping you'd say that I'm in and I literally just said in the group.
Speaker 1:I was like I will probably be in the next round too. I did.
Speaker 3:I'm like I'll save you a spot, sis, I'll see you there.
Speaker 3:But that's what I do love about, yeah, that's what I love about long-term mentorship though, because it does take a while to work with anyone for you guys to get to know each other, each other's style of learning and working, and long-term mentor mentorship is so powerful because, yeah, you find a coach, they know everything about you, they know your business, they know where you want to go, they know your behaviors and your ways to procrastinate and your ways to celebrate, and that friendship, that connection, is really, really helpful, because then you can just start to focus on the needle, moving things, as opposed to just getting to know each other and then doing it all over again as you move to a new coach. So, yes, absolutely, we'd love to see you in the next round. But speaking of what you had left to create and do which is why you signed up again your coaching business let's talk about that. Let's talk about why you've decided to start your coaching business, what that is all about and how that has been for you so far.
Speaker 1:Yep. So how it's been for me so far. I've really struggled with it. I didn't think I was worthy, I didn't think that I deserved a spot on the stage. In a sense I didn't think I just I guess I fought back and forth in my mind about whether I should do it. Everyone will judge me Like who am I to go and start a coaching business? I literally have struggled. But who am I to go and start a business? Am I copying all my other coaches that I've been with? Um I went back and forth with all of these things and it wasn't until, like going through her empire and literally just being around you and with your help, I realized that yet I'm showing up for the people who need me, who were me a few years ago, so I'm so excited to show up for them.
Speaker 1:But basically my coaching business is I'm incorporating beauty business strategies and mindset as well. Literally everything that I have learned to, you know, get my success and my growth as well. So I want to help people beauty business owners who are struggling in their salons at the moment, where they where they were three years ago, where I was three years ago, and they're feeling like they don't have any idea where to go next. They they're so lost, they're in debt, they're scared, they're just depressed and they want to. They're considering closing their salons down. That's where I was. I want to take them with me into success and teach them how to like, be better and have a more successful business, so that they can experience like literally growing and living the life that I now am. So yeah, I'm really excited.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I love it and I'm so glad you're in the place where you do feel worthy of a spot on that stage, because you have so much to give, and I always say this to people.
Speaker 3:You went through all of those lessons so that you can now help others do the same, and it's like if you don't do this right now, if you don't start this coaching business, all of those hurdles you had to overcome, all of the lessons you have had to learn, would have been a waste. You know you had to go through it for a reason. Even more recently, you were doing, you know, dealing with something in the salon, do with staff and stuff like that. But again, like that's now equipped you to help someone who has the exact same issue as what you did. So it's putting all of those lessons to good use and being able to help someone who, as you said, was exactly where you were years ago. And you're now allowing them to cut some corners and not give up on their salon, because there's a reason they started it. It's about reminding themselves of that and making their salon excite them again, which the name of your course is Scale your Salon, yeah, and what's your ebook called Salon Revival?
Speaker 1:Salon Revival yeah.
Speaker 3:I love it. I love it. It just makes sense. So can we, can you quickly touch on, I guess, what you've had to do to feel that sense of worthiness, to really back yourself and be like, actually, you know what? No, I do deserve a spot on this stage and I'm going to do the thing.
Speaker 1:Well, a big starting point for me was when you got me to write down 20 reasons of why I deserve a spot on this stage and why I deserve to do this, and literally list everything that I've overcome and all the lessons that I've learned. And I think, looking at that on a piece of paper, it was like, yeah, like you forget how much you've done and how much you've learned and how much you've grown. You forget about it've grown, you forget about it. But when you're looking at it at a piece of paper, it's like, oh, yeah, I do know my stuff.
Speaker 1:I also feel like I've had to do a lot in terms of removing certain things off my social media, remove myself off social media a bit as well. I do find I sometimes get in a little bit of comparison as well. I've had to really hone in on my mindset. So I've been doing a lot of visualization, a lot of meditation, a lot of journaling as well and basically just doing high vibe energy things that I can literally pump myself up. So, yeah, I feel like that's really helped me get to this point.
Speaker 1:But the biggest thing for me was your immersion event. I literally walked in there and I was still umming and ahhing like, oh, can I really do this? And I don't know I left there new woman I literally could have like skipped out of there. It was so good. I honestly thought that coming home and being stuck in my environment and, yeah, I thought that it would take me straight back to like feeling that low vibrational energy again, but I've literally stayed on a high since that whole event, so it's cool it's because you cleared all the shit that was getting in your way.
Speaker 3:It doesn't even form any part of you anymore. Yeah.
Speaker 1:I really, I really think hitting that pillow, yeah, it's the best.
Speaker 3:It's the best that really helped. Yeah, I was literally just talking to Izzy about that. I was like that was so powerful because everyone embraced that so much. And I know it can be a bit of an awkward exercise, especially if no one else around you is doing it, but the fact that everyone embraced that made that session so incredible. So, yeah, that is definitely one of my favourites. Yeah, like, how often do we punch a pillow? But God, we need to more often.
Speaker 1:I've never. When you started that I was like seriously.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 1:You need to punch a pillow, but it feels so good. So, yeah, my advice to listeners listen to Jess and yeah there's a purpose behind the madness, I promise.
Speaker 1:Um, well, before we wrap this up, like what's next for Kendall and your world and what's on the agenda, so for me, I am gonna continue taking a little step back out of my salon, still want to be in there, but I don't want to be sucked back into the salon very much, so I want to continue to take a step back and really focus on my coaching business. Now I'm creating an online program. So, yes, like we said, scale your salon, which literally takes you through mindset strategies, tax super staff empowering your staff, tax super um staff empowering your staff literally just everything that you need to take your business from struggling to successful. I'm putting it all in there like I had big downloads and I literally I'm going to give it to everyone. I just, yeah, I want them to know everything to set themselves up for success.
Speaker 1:So that is my next goal I would love to big personal goal that I guess I'm setting is I really want to take my mom to the Whitsundays for a little trip. That's just something I'm working on to prove to myself that I can do. So that's my next thing. I want to buy a BMW, so that's coming too. And my biggest thing is I want to move my entire family to the Gold Coast and buy a dream home up there. So I guess that's what's next for me.
Speaker 3:So, yeah, so much exciting stuff in the works and also possible, so possible, and I love that. You've shown yourself throughout so many big breakthroughs this year that you can do anything you want. You've just got to believe in it, put your head down and make it your reality and not let anything get in the way of that. Yeah, now, if anyone is on the fence or is curious about her empire, we are opening up applications for 2025 on the 14th of October. Kendall, what would you tell someone who is considering joining me in that mastermind? Just do it.
Speaker 1:Just do it. You'll make so many good friendships. You will have the women supporting you, pushing you to keep going, and I feel like that's what I really needed and you've been amazing in there. I love having that one-on-one Well, not one-on-one, but I love having that really close-knit support from you. And I don't know, the workbooks are great. The, you know, the pack that you get is great. The whole experience has just been amazing and so lush and I loved it. It was just, yeah, exactly, it's just you. Now that I've gotten to know you, it's just, it's you, and I would not be where I am. We bought a house. I never like I never thought that I would be able to buy a house. And we bought a house literally on the last day of her empire, the last round. We got the notification from the bank that we got approved and it didn't look like it was happening.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and that was one of your manifestations or your goals at the start. And yeah, literally our last day together, you messaged to say approved, we're doing the thing. Yeah yeah, so, cool.
Speaker 1:And that happened without her empire. So join, see what you can do. You're literally limitless.
Speaker 3:So do that. Yes, yay, and I love what you said as well. It's more than just working with me. You get to be around other women who will not just be cheering you on, but also who are like-minded and who get it. You know we lack that a lot in our life Someone who is that support, who gets it, who's running the same race as what you are. So to have that, that really close knit friendship and support, is so powerful on its own, so I love that you've thrown that in there.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's really good, and I did notice that because even talking to the girls, they're like I've been through this and it, yeah, it makes you feel like you're not alone. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so good so good, yeah.
Speaker 3:Well, maybe you'll see Kendall in the next round if you're joining us in 2025.
Speaker 1:I'll see you there.
Speaker 3:Yeah, Well, to wrap this up, where can people find you? What are your different Instagram handles? Share all that goodness and if you actually if you do have a salon and you need some revival, where can they find that?
Speaker 1:Yes, so my coaching business is I'm on Instagram. It's literally a personal brand, so my name Kendall K-E-N-D-A-L-L-W-O-T-T-E-R-S-O-N. Underscore, and then my salon account is Mode Lash and Beauty. So yeah, they can find me there.
Speaker 3:Yay, well, I'll link all of this in the show notes below as well. And, yeah, if you are listening to this and you do have a salon and you feel you need this coaching and this revival plan, then you have a free ebook they can go and download. Actually, I'll link that in the show notes for you guys as well, so it's super easy for you just to click through and have a look, and we're in the works of you launching a masterclass soon as well, so definitely a page that you want to be following. If you are in the beauty industry, you have a salon that you feel could be doing better and you need help with all aspects of it, which is what I love about your program, kendall you help with everything. It's not just mastering marketing and then forgetting about your taxes or being really good leader, but not knowing how to deal with the money coming in, like you help them with everything. So definitely keep an eye out for that. If you are in the industry and you need Kendall in your corner, she's going to be an incredible coach, incredible coach.
Speaker 3:Thank you Well, thank you for being here today. Thank you for sharing your time. Thank you for sharing your story with everybody. It's been an incredible episode. I knew it would be, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get you on. I don't know how I've missed that. It's probably a good thing, though it's at the end of all of your successes. We had a lot to talk about.
Speaker 1:I was going to say, yeah, I think I wasn't ready for, but now I am, I think I wasn't ready for.
Speaker 3:But now I am, I've got you post-immersion, the new version of Kendall, kendall 2.0. Yes, that's it. I love it. Well, thank you so much for tuning in, guys, and I will talk to you all on the next episode. Bye.
