Did God really say? The devil has been asking that same question for all of human history. Did God really say whatever you feel like you heard him say, this is the ultimate battle to hear God and hold tightly to what he said. Eve saw fruit in the garden and it looked good to eat. And then she forgot exactly what God had said and made the wrong choice.
When the serpent came and said, did God really say what Eve quoted back to him wasn't exactly what God said, it was enough off that the enemy was able to convince her to eat the fruit and make the wrong choice. And unfortunately, I do the same thing. If we haven't met yet, I am Mukkove Johnson and I teach Christian women to hear God's voice, to discern what he's saying and to heal the parts that don't always agree with him, and live the abundant life that Jesus called you to.

The Ancient Question Of Doubt
SPEAKER_01Did God really say the devil has been asking that same question for all of human history. Did God really say whatever you feel like you heard him say? This is the ultimate battle to hear God and hold tightly to what he said. Eve saw fruit in the garden, and it looked good to eat. And then she forgot exactly what God had said and made the wrong choice when the serpent came and said, Did God really say? What Eve quoted back to him wasn't exactly what God said. It was enough off that the enemy was able to convince her to eat the fruit and make the wrong choice. And unfortunately, I do the same thing. SPEAKER_00So I'm guilty of doing the same thing that Eve did.
SPEAKER_01I spend time in God's word and I'm listening to prayer. I hear what he's saying to me, I write it down, and then I question. Or sometimes allow the enemy to question. Did God really say?
SPEAKER_00There's two main reasons for this. One, I look at circumstances instead of what God said.

Releasing Outcomes And Finding Peace
SPEAKER_01And two, I listen to the enemy without realizing it. When I look at circumstances, I become confused or disillusioned when things don't go the way I wanted or expected. Just like Eve, I see things from my perspective instead of what God is saying. And from God's perspective, and I choose wrong. Then I can easily listen to the enemy without realizing it. This can look like letting how I feel be in charge instead of living. For example, when God told me to talk to church leadership about starting a women's ministry, he specifically told me not to focus on the outcome. Like it didn't matter whether the ministry actually started or not. He told me he wanted to work in me, regardless of the outcome of these conversations. So I was excited, was excited what he was going to do, and felt things were going well for a while. But things stopped moving forward, and I found myself getting frustrated and focusing on what other people needed to do and taking on responsibilities that weren't mine, creating unhealthy stress for myself. After a few months of this, I remembered what God said in the beginning: that it wasn't about starting a women's ministry. It was about working in me. That allowed me to give the responsibility of the outcome back to God and then have peace about where the process went and the time that it took. In those times of frustration, I can see that I let my feelings allow the enemy to talk to me in.
