I do have stories from the road, but these aren't actually driving stories. But I did actually work last week. I don't I can't recall anything that stood out for me as far as like anything that would be a story that I would like to tell. But I did take Ubers last night, uh, because I was drinking and being responsible. So I went downtown, the Uber down there, uh, had a lot of rides. Um, I think I may have shared it in the chat, but had a lot of rides. Uh dude drove real fast. Uh real fast. Yeah. And really loved to tailgate.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Like that.
Night Out Uber Tales
SPEAKER_02No. Um, and he was wearing a mask. This is not, I don't care about that, but I had trouble hearing him speak. And that's because I would think it was K95 or whatever it was, and was just, you know, whatever. It's uh it's totally fine. But um, yeah, so he drove really fast, um, but had him out and everything like that. So I didn't read I didn't say anything about that. I was just like, whatever, you know. My friend that I went down with, she was like, Oh, I liked it because it, you know, he's zipping through town. I was like, Yeah, but you know, I don't know. I felt uncomfortable. So whatever, we get down there. Did we die? No, we didn't. Uh so I tipped him$3. And then uh on the way back, got somebody that was fresh on Lyft. They had the cheaper price. You know, we talk about this, right? Shop shop around Uber was$12 more. So I went significant. Significant. Yeah, and it was a surging time, you know, it was out of the concert. And so this guy had like less than 200 rides. So he picks us up. Uh it's interesting, the car color did not match the car. So I double-checked the plate. Uh, plate was fine, it matched. So we get in, no phone mount. No, no, yeah, that's like red flag. And was driving again fast. Like on my street, they uh did a road diet. We used to have two lanes one way, two lanes the other way, no turn lane. So they did a road diet, which I hate, so now it's one way, one way, center lane. And someone who was slowing up front of turning right, now, mind you, it had snowed during the concert. Like, and so there was snow on the ground. He goes into the left turn lane to pass this person, and like that is my biggest pet peeve. Like, if you can't wait for fucking two seconds, so and then it's in that center lane, it's snow. Like the main road was just wet.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there's still snow there because nobody's riding.
SPEAKER_02Driven in it, yeah. So he kind of got squirrely and had to lock him up. Wow, so I did rate him a three-star. I still tipped him. I understand. Like, you're if you're out there and taking rides and you feel bad, like you're you're welcome to tip, but always just you know, rate him low and then report. So I reported, put a comment there, no phone mount. Then I get a like a notification like 10 minutes later. Do you want to call, do you want us to call you a chat with you immediately? Like they were like they wanted they were on top of it, whether it be automated or not. They wanted that customer service there to make sure that I was okay. Um, and I put no, there were three options chat, phone, or no, we don't need to. And I was like, I'm fine, you can email me for any follow-up uh that you need. So interesting time. I I I'm not a huge fan. Like, I haven't taken Ubers since Nashville, but we were all together, so I don't know why I felt more safe. Yeah, I don't know why. We all could still die in a crash. Yeah, yeah, could die just as easy. That's although mind you, I last night, my friend, she did not buckle. I buckled both times. I'm like, I'm not no dummy. I I don't know.
SPEAKER_03No, I only yeah, I only I don't care who I'm riding with, I buckle up, man. Yeah, just always but that's so funny that they were they were like ready to call you. Like when you when you want to get a hold of them, man, you can't get a hold of them. But remember, I'm a I'm a customer. I know, I know. So that's what's different. That's the difference, you know. Yeah, so is he holding his phone? No phone.
SPEAKER_02So he he had it down um like what was a car? It was a Chevy Equal.
SPEAKER_03Waiting on a console or something, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But it was low.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because you're looking down.
SPEAKER_02Well, and I did notice he was missing turn, like not quite missing turns, but they were he they were he was stopping short. Yeah, and then of course he had my friend gave him shit. He was listening to me. We were it was like Bad Bunny or on, and my friend likes Bad Bunny or whatever. And then he had the navigation cut into the song. He's like, Yeah, I can't figure that out or whatever. And I was like, Okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you can turn that off.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely a noob. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, and they said all those things that we did. Well, I never did the no phone thing, but I remember for the long, you know, for a while I had the navigation, you know, where it would be navigation, then I was like, what am I doing here? I don't need this, you know.
SPEAKER_02No, no, yeah. I always hated uh when I would switch phones. Um, if I use my Android phone for Uber or my iPhone, it'll reset the um settings and they'll start talking about what the fuck me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, where did the yeah you it catches you unexpected? Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_02What is that? Yes, so uh yeah, that was interesting. So, you know, I mean I wanted to order comfort, but I knew I didn't, I was being cheap as much as I could. I wanted to order comfort though, but it it was it was like 10, 12 bucks more per ride. I was like, ah fuck it, we'll just roll the dice. Yeah, but like if Megan and I go anywhere, it's comfort. Like we're we're buying comfort just because it just you do it's a better experience.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, usually, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So all right, gig economy in the news. Uber is in hot seat. Um after, you know, we've talked about this a a lot, but in this article, I was uh surprised they're in the hot seat after probe finds finds violent offenders were cleared to drive, which we've heard off and on, right? Sure. Uh the Times recently reported uh in 22 states that Uber had to approve drivers convicted of other serious crimes such as child abuse stalking assault, as long as the conviction convictions were at least seven years old. This is this stat's crazy. From 2017, and I don't remember us talking about this, to 2022, Uber received a report of sexual assault or sexual misconduct on an average of every eight minutes.
Rating, Reporting & Rider Safety
SPEAKER_03No, we haven't talked, we haven't mentioned that. No, I didn't think that's so total 24 hours a day. Every eight minutes. Right, yeah. I mean, think about it around the world, you know. It's yeah, it's always happening. It's all just gonna, but yeah, that that's that's just so crazy to think of that. That's how many people that is. Right. Uh that's just ones that are reported. Right? How many of those are how many of that would you know go unreported? A lot.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Uh the report also revealed that they permitted drivers to continue operating with the company after receiving complaints from riders and only ban them after serious allegations were lodged. I'm like, okay, so what, like he raped me? Yeah, you know what I mean? Or he Where is that line? Yeah, where is that line? So, okay, so then this is this is interesting. So, in light of growing public concern regarding passenger safety, Uber is planning to change their policies to ban individuals convicted of violent felonies. Okay, good, good job. Yeah, child or elder abuse and endangerment and sexual offenses for driving from the company, regardless of when the crimes occurred. Which I mean, I think that's good, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, it's you know, it's it's a it's always uh you know, there's always some gray in there. You're like, man, what if you know what if this guy you know had some kind of something he did 30 years ago, you know, it's it's tough to say, but you're certain if it's you know it's sexual assault or something like that, yeah. I don't think they should ever ever drive, you know, violent felony. Yeah. If the guy, you know, if it was a non-violent felony that happened 15 years ago, I don't care.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, even a simple assault, like you know, and and maybe they need to change the the year amount. Like maybe if you know, if it's it's 20 years for these, and if it's older than that, then it's fine. Because I get it too. Like it this job as a driver, you do have an opportunity to kind of turn your life around a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Like yeah, yeah, it's something you can get in, you know, most people can get in fairly easy. Uh you know, you have to have a car, but you know, there's you don't have to have any really any training or you know go to school or anything like that. So there's it's a pretty low barrier to entry. And yeah, if I you know I think I'd be okay with that if they extended it out. And again, you know, certain felonies, certain things, never, but but other things I think for sure the the any kind of sexual assault.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's like that's a no sorry. That should not even be the seven years. That should be from here on out. Because that you know, if if someone makes a mistake, you know, I um 25 years ago I got in a fight at a bar, came out, grabbed my crowbar. That's felonious assault. Yeah, you know what I mean. Now, obviously, if he killed the guy, I mean you know, but if he got in a bar fight, like he shouldn't be penalized. But here's the thing that's a that was a poor decision, right? The sexual assault stuff typically is a pattern of that that continues on. There's not a lot of fixing.
SPEAKER_03That's not a one-off, yeah. That's not usually a one-off thing.
SPEAKER_02Right, right. So yeah, I think that part's super important. But I I'm glad that they've made a statement about it and say they're gonna change it. You know, of course, there's no timeline for that. But I I think it's I think it's a step in the right direction. I mean, I gotta I mean it it took an expose for Uber to like fucking do something about it, but at least they might be.
SPEAKER_03That's with any company though. I mean, for the most part, yeah, you know, a lot of them are not proactive about things like that until somebody says, Hey, why aren't you doing something about this? You know, right. Yeah, that's true. And there's always gonna be, like I said, pros and cons, and and you can look at things both ways, and you're never gonna make anybody happy. You know, some people are gonna say you should just if you've ever been convicted of felony, you should never be allowed to drive. Right. Yeah. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um it's just two things that sexual assault case and you know that that they won. I mean, not that Uber, but the the plan they won or that woman one or whatever it was. And this, but I think we're gonna see some movement in the next year about safety.
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_02Whatever that is.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, I don't know what they will do, or you know, we've tried to figure it out many times. Uh there's only so many things they can do. Uh uh, but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see some things changing in the next you know, 12, 18 months.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and that's it's it's gonna be for the good. I mean, of course, like you said, he can't make everyone happy. They might never they you know, drivers. You know, if if Steve was in here, he'd be bitching up a storm about it, and that's fine. Like, that's that's his jam. And like he's I don't know when he's gonna be satisfied. And I think the last time I was on, I did talk to him about that, and he didn't have a lot either. Like, I mean, I know that's not his job. We're not right, you know, we're not in the bit, we're not like engineers or anything like that. It's just you know, it's it's tough to know what to do. You want to keep the business, you want to keep things going, but you want to keep people safe, and what does that take?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
Uber Background Check Controversy
SPEAKER_02Uh Larry, Uber's hundred million charging bet. Um, I'm interested to hear about this. I I love the EV talk. I know due to the administration change, things have moved around a little bit on that, but it's still a it's still a big thing, and it's still gonna be here forever, I think.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, and you know how how things go. But uh we'll have another administration change in a few years. Uh, you know, possibly, possibly things will swing back the other way. Uh if not next one, you know, eventually it will. Yeah, we we just know they're not going away, that's for sure. So yeah, it's uh Uber's gonna partner with uh some some other companies with uh one called Evigo, Ionity, and uh some other networks, they're gonna build out a charging station network. They're gonna invest$100 million to build out some you know public fast charging stations across the United States and Europe. Um you know, they're doing this because they're you know they've been pushing electric cars for a long time. Uh and you know they they state that you know the fact that a city really can only move toward autonomous cars and electric cars if they have the right infrastructure in place. Of course, you know, most places don't right now. Yeah. So yeah, they they plan to roll out a thousand DC fast charging stations uh um in starting out in New York, LA, Boston, San Francisco, uh, and then London, uh, Paris, Madrid. Um so yeah, you know, big cities across the United States, big cities around the world. The first ones uh first managed sites are gonna open in the Bay Area, which is where they they start a lot of their stuff since they're located out there. And so many of their you know, charging stations are probably gonna be located at the A V depots where they already have operations going. You know, they have fleet operations there where they clean their autonomous cars, they do maintenance inspection on the cars and things like that. So yeah, you know, they're they're really pushing for autonomous cars and for the electric cars. Um so yeah, they're gonna need these high-speed charging places wherever they want to roll out those fleets, you know, wherever they want to have a huge autonomous presence.
SPEAKER_02So I did see someone spotted a Hyundai, a Waymo that had a Waymo Hyundai. Yeah. So they're they're starting to bring out car because you know, we talked about this before. They're gonna they're gonna have to do that, right? They can't be pumping out jags. And I would I would assume their whole point is selling those to the public. Like this is this is just a baby step. Like they're they don't want to be a ride share company. Right. I don't think. I mean, I think they want to be we sell you a Waymo, and it, you know, you get on our six subscription plan, and you know, we do the we do we fix things, and like it's like a basically a car company, you know, like Tesla, but but the Waymo aspect of it. And so I mean, I don't know if you agree with that or if you think that this they're just gonna do the the rideshare thing. I don't know, I don't I've not read anything about it. I just kind of think that's what it's gonna be.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out. But yeah, I I I wouldn't argue with you on that.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I I'm not saying they won't do both. I'm just saying I would think the end goal would be to sell a Hyundai to Joe Blow for 30 grand and then another 20 grand for the the self-driving part of it, then plus some subscriptions and all that other bullshit. Sure. So we'll see. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03It will be interesting.
SPEAKER_02The one thing I do it it is bothering me about these all these fast chargers and stuff like that, is like the cost isn't basically the same as a as a gas car now. And I'm like, that's the point of me. I mean, it's not because I can charge at home, but like it really discourages like what's the point then? I might as well get a hybrid.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And I think hybrid sales are are really doing well.
SPEAKER_02They've always done well.
SPEAKER_03Um, I would love to have a hybrid Camry or something. Um yeah, you know, that was uh that was a big point or a big reason many people that that moved electric cars did. And you know, now now the only thing you can really say is, well, you know, it's it's the green aspect of it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, let's be like, I want it to be green, but like isn't there stats out there that says that you have to drive that car for five or six years to like offset the carbon footprint to to mine the battery shit and stuff. I got it to save money, and it it does when you charge at home. There's there's no lie about that.
SPEAKER_03You the no one can argue with me that it's yeah, until they build you know a few data centers near your house and you're shut your mouth he shoots to the roof.
Policy Fixes And Second Chances
SPEAKER_02No, that's not then you better you bet you know everybody talking, oh fuck solar, fuck solar. You you better not say that. You better get on board. Yeah. Um, all right. Next up, we talked actually about this on the Patreon last week. And if you're a member, you already know about this. But uh, I found an app called the Crew Home app, and we talked about it at length. But basically, what it is, and it is in my area, and I did sign up and I've literally got nothing. It is a um a company that if you own uh Virbos or Airbnbs, I think the biggest issue is one of them is getting the trash out to the road on the day you need. So, yeah, you got a cleaning crew there, but okay, they're here on Monday. Let's say someone left. Friday, trash doesn't come. You don't want it to sit out at the road all week. So this basically is what this company does does. They hire, you know, gig workers like us. Um, what did we say? It was like$50 a month for two cans per week, two visits per week, um, or you can do it 65 to get four cans, so on and so forth. Um, if you want to sign up for it, uh just go crewhomeap.com and uh that's all we know about it. But I I kind of like it.
SPEAKER_03I yeah, man, if there's if you lived in a uh uh somewhere where you know people really vacation a lot, like Gatlinburg or you know, some kind of beach town, something like that, where there's tons and tons of Airbnbs, man. If you could you could clean up on an app like this.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh, yes. I mean, you could have a full day's work.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Just going and you know, uh park your car, you know, say say, you know, do ten houses on one side of the street and come back ten down ten houses on the other side of the street or something. Yeah. Manage to be able to do that. You can make some pretty decent money, I would say, pretty easy and uh pretty quickly. So what did we ever talk about what the driver got paid for that? Because I did I don't think it I don't think it told. You know, I d I don't think it did either. I you know it was. They just told the, you know, we looked on their website and saw what it cost the customers, but I don't I don't remember it divulging what how much of that the person would make.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm just going to register as crew. Um and it was very quick. It it connected my stride account. So like um that's how we get paid. But yeah, I don't think I I would have to go back into the app, but I'm um I got my phone on TikTok right now, so I can't do that. But but I'd have to check. I don't remember them um saying how much because yeah, I guess if it's two dollars a bin, I mean, I don't know. I mean, but it's so easy though, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_03Especially, like I said, if you could do a bunch in one area, like a neighborhood, a cul-de-sac or something where you could just park and you know, go down and hit a bunch of them and then walk back to your car, you know, that would be great. But if they're all spread out, you know, it's is it it, you know, it's gonna have to be a certain amount to make it worth going out there. You're not gonna drive all the way, you know, 20 minutes one out somewhere just to do one can.
SPEAKER_02So are you like what is your what is your money amount? I know let's just say it's five miles from where you where you live. Like that's the thing too. Like it's kind of gotta be where your home is.
SPEAKER_03Like Yeah, I mean, you know, we we we all a lot of times we revolved around the dollar a mile. So you know that sucks. Yeah, not a bad, not a bad place to stick.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, I can see that. But yeah, we'll see. I'm I'm hoping I I bet I'm gonna be driving around one day. I'm gonna get a fucking notification and scream. Like, I'll be recording.
SPEAKER_03You're like, what the hell?

Um yeah, Tennessee, uh, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, faith, North Carolina, John, Ohio, Oregon, or Oregon, however you say it, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. So quite a few states, but yeah, but honestly, like for me, I guess being close to the bigger city, I'm sure there's a ton of Airbnbs down there. Like we don't even know about they're just r random apartments. You know what I mean? Yeah. Um, but yeah, I would definitely do it. You know me, I'll try anything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's good, it's you know, it's fun. I mean, one, it's you know, it's good content for the show, so we can talk about these new apps and you have somebody that's actually done it. Uh uh, well, I think we lost Jason.

SPEAKER_03Oh, I was just saying, it's you know, it's good to have somebody that uh you know, just we signed it's good for us to sign up for these things, and and if we can actually try it and do it at some point, that's even better because then we can talk with a little bit of you know experience and knowledge. But we always it's always good to have the apps, you know, as many apps as you can get.

SPEAKER_03So yeah, people love those videos. I mean, I know if you know if we ever see anybody who's done, you know, does a video about an app that we've not heard of or haven't tried or something, I always watch it and just to hear what they have to say.

I don't care. I know you don't care. All right, Life 360, which I use uh I pay for it every year with my family, and Uber announced a new integration to help families stay connected on every trip.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know I don't uh I've not used Life 360, but I know lots of people who do. Uh you know, some good friends of mine use it and uh really enjoy it and like it. And so yeah, Uber and Three Life 360 has made it where you can link your accounts, you can live your your Life 360 and Uber account together, including the Uber teen account. So they're trying to make it easier for parents uh and the you know their teenagers to coordinate rides, helps the parents you know stay informed in real time. Uh they're already using three life 360 to kind of see where the kids are going. Um so yeah, they're trying to as always, you know, they're trying to create a one-stop experience. They're trying to keep you in their app as long as they can, uh, just like all the other apps do. Uh it says new integration is going to be coming out later this year um as part of the company's renewed partnership. And will evolve over time as Uber and Lite 360 collaborate on even you know even more um integration. So yeah, like I said, uh uh my best friend uh he he him and his wife and kids have used Light360 for a while, so I've seen it in action. Um it's just not something that I've ever used personally. But again, another way for them to try to keep you in the app.

SPEAKER_03I um I've always I've heard great things about it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's relatively accurate. Um and I what it's what I really like about it is it tracks speed for your driving kids. Right. And so like now it's not always accurate on the speed. I found that out a little bit. It's close. I mean, it's within three to five miles an hour. Yeah. Because I tested it. Because my I was getting after my daughter, and she had a friend of hers doing 80 on the highway, and I'm like, can't do that. Can't fucking do that. Well, he wasn't, you know, he was only doing 75, and I was like, okay, but that's still fast. Y'all are young drivers. Um, and so I I I watch that like you know how many times, you know, she's 18 now, but like I she's still under my roof. She's I still pay her car insurance and her phone bill. So like you still gotta be careful. And she's a great driver, yeah. Like, don't get me wrong, but you know, I I use that feature more than anything. Um, you know, and then I think my kids use it um to track where mom and dad are. Yes. And they're like, hey, you went to Panera. Yeah, it didn't get us anything. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03So they track you so they know when to stop the party at the house.
SPEAKER_02Right. I told Megan, like, next time we go out to eat, we need to like just turn our locations off.

SPEAKER_03So yeah, I mean, it's just like you know, just like Doordash, they're they're integrating and collaborating with everybody they can and and trying to keep you in their app as long as possible. You know, it's just the way it goes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, for sure. Uh so this video, um, you know, if I had this type of service in my Uber last night, I mean, this Mofo would have got five stars and maybe a handy. But here we go. 10 second video. I can't believe this guy did this. There's a Keurig machine in the back of his fucking car. And burritos. So quick, quick video. Um, yeah, he's got a Keurig, like we have one of those small ones. It literally can fit on, especially if you're in an SUV, it can fit on the center armrest thing. Um, yeah, and the ladies brewing a fucking thing of coffee. And I'm just like what? Yeah. And got burritos, like, is he giving those away? Is he selling the burritos? I mean, I assume the coffee's free. I mean, you know, 90 cent curry cup is not a big deal, but like, I mean, I I wouldn't have hated it. I mean, I I probably would have I probably would have brewed it. The problem is when you slam in the fucking brakes, and then I mean that's shit's hot coming out. I mean, it's not Starbucks hot, but it's toasty.

Um, so this is a bigger story that we didn't touch on last week, uh, about a mother accused of leaving young children in Uber for hours. Larry's gonna talk more about that.
Costs, Hybrids, And Charging Reality
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so uh this is a really wild story. This and uh as most wild stories do, it happened in Florida for some reason. Uh so yeah, according to this uh story, a police officer responded to a to a call uh at about 11 p.m. on a Friday after Uber call Uber driver called 911 reported that his passenger had deserted her two children in his vehicle. So the driver said that he had picked up uh Emily Sabogle, she's 32 years old, picked her and her children up at a shopping center. Um and that uh after she got in, he uh she actually uh reached over the console and grabbed his phone and canceled the ride. Oh, she didn't do it on her phone. Right anyway, and he then she said gave him ten dollars in cash, so she wanted to do a cash ride, which is no big deal. But so she gave him ten dollars in cash, and then uh as they were going, he asked asking him to stop the vehicle uh in the area of Northwest 108th Avenue and 50th Street. According to the driver, she exited the vehicle and told the driver she'd be back in three minutes. Uh then she called, listen to this. Police said the driver called him the driver called her, called the passenger about an hour later after she failed to return. Why he's waiting an hour. An hour? An hour. And she told him she'd be back in 12 minutes, and then she hung up. He tried calling her back again, he didn't answer, or she didn't answer, so he called 911 instead. Um according to the police report, it said the two kids appeared to be in good health and good spirits when they arrived, but they were hungry and thirsty. And they the police said that uh the the uh passenger was eventually located walking outside of a McDonald's about 2.2 miles away. She could not explain why she left her children with a stranger or how she arrived at the McDonald's. Uh the police also spoke with some staff at a place called Bob G's Wings and Things, who confirmed that she was a regular customer at that business and had been there earlier that night with her kids. They said the children were running around unsupervised as she enjoyed multiple alcoholic beverages at the bar. Yeah. So um the father also spoke with the news and said that he's really concerned about the safety of his children. And this is not the first time she's shown erratic behavior. So who would who would who would sit in an Uber for an hour with somebody's kids before they call?
SPEAKER_02No doubt he probably didn't have a dash cam either. Uh no, if she said three minutes, I mean I would do I would do three minutes. I'd be like, I'm fine.
SPEAKER_03Three minutes if they're yeah, and because they weren't it wasn't like an infant, you know, they were there's two kids, you know. That that's a little better, you're not alone with one kid. Right. Uh things like that. But yeah, after you know, five, ten minutes, yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, not even that. I'm talking 3 30, I'm talking calling her. I'm like, where are you? Yeah. I ain't texting, I'm calling.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I wouldn't text either. I would call her, and yeah, if she's not calling, then yeah, I'm I'm I'm giving a call to the police.
SPEAKER_02This is what I do. She says 12 more minutes. I go, I go, you got one minute. If you are not here in one minute, I'm calling the police. Like I'm not like because A, I A, I want to move on with my day. Like, if you're not here, I can't. I mean, I'm not gonna leave the kids. You're the piece of shit that left the kids. But yeah, waiting an hour to then call is crazy.

Oh I mean, what a great business idea, though, because like they are paying for cheap advertising, stereo is getting two cents, and we're getting three, which that's a shock too.

Keurig Ubers And Rider Perks
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Uh, so this one, um, this one up the top, it has uh Walmart reviewer. I don't know, I don't know what that is. Yeah, I don't know. Anyway, and the customer notes says uh something about it just says it has redacted some of that. So it says packages to some old house, some old home in some other area. The GPS is wrong sometimes, so it's hard to tell what they're exactly talking about on that one. Uh next one says upstore uh upstairs, wooden staircase on right of house, then in capital letters, not next door, you will fall through and break your ass.

SPEAKER_03I'm I'm looking at them now too. Yeah. So the next one says, uh, under customer roads, I would like this order ASAP. I already pay a lot for Walmart Plus, so paying an extra fee for some delivery is not an option. But if someone is available to deliver sooner, that would be great.
SPEAKER_02I feel like half these comments, especially that one, like they don't know how the app works in regards to like what can be delivered, what is an extra cost. Like we have Walmart Plus too, but you have to you can't get it like right away. You have to wait like three hours, or you have to pay extra. That's when people are paying extra, and we get those, you know, for for us because they're like it's an express shop, so they're paying extra for me to immediately go do it.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Uh this one says leave it door, please. Uh, do not pretend to deliver groceries. I will report you. Oh, um, customer oats uh please, please put deliveries inside the back porch. Last delivery was left outside in the cold and the cranberry juice froze and busted the plastic. Is it that hard to open a door and put orders inside? Fucking open their door now inside and put it in now. It's a screened in porch or something.

I want to talk about this last one real quick and then we're gonna wrap it up. Uh it's about DoorDash, and it, you know, the comment that said Bubba Sue call a florist, not Walmart. So DoorDash becomes number one in U.S. grocery and retail ordering volume expanding for local merchants. Oh, I highlighted it. Why didn't the highlight work? God damn it. Uh, it didn't work on this one. Um, okay, so there's some stats on Valentine's Day weekend this year. Over one-third of online flour delivery orders were placed on DoorDash. Isn't that wild? One third. That's crazy. Um they have recently added, you know, they uh 2025 they added new 33 new partners, including uh Kroger, Family Dollar, DSW, Old Navy. Um, also grocery shopping via DoorDash was made available on Chat GBT, enabling consumers to go from meal inspiration to full cart and fast delivery from local national grocers. Um, let's see, they had like some crazy stats. I was like, you're shitting me. Um, let's see. So Valent uh Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are the busiest days for floral deliveries on DoorDash. Just Valentine's weekend. Okay, we said that. In 2025, on each of Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, consumers place more than one million grocery, convenience, retail, and alcohol orders on DoorDash. On those two days, one million orders.

SPEAKER_02What is happening? You're paying so much. Oh my God. Um they expanded their offerings. DoorDash includes for 2025 apparel, toys and games, books, and sexual wellness.

SPEAKER_03It is, yeah. I mean, it's staggering uh numbers on some of the stuff. Yeah, I mean like we said, they're they're they collaborating and partnering with so many places that um you know people are able to order just about anything.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's the thing. We've we've said from the beginning, shit or get off the pot. Uber got off the pot, or whatever you call it. I don't know. Did they shit or get off the pot? I don't know. Shit or so they shit. That's the positive. Basically, let's let's get going, let's partner, let's grow, lift. Nah, they're not doing it. Grubhub, nah. You know, and DoorDash is like, hey, we want to compete with Uber Eats, and clearly they're they are killing it. Um I think Uber Eats could succeed on their own without ri like I think they could overtake DoorDash, but they have so many irons in the fire in regards to that, that I think you know, you know, rideshare is big for them for sure.
