Money & Legacy: Debt, Wealth, Family & Career
Money shouldn’t feel this overwhelming — especially when you’re doing everything “right.”
Money & Legacy is a financial clarity podcast for capable, high-functioning families who make good money but still feel stressed, uncertain, or stuck when it comes to their finances.
Hosted by Laura Sexton, Money & Legacy Coach and founder of Accelerate Your Legacy, this podcast helps families move from financial overwhelm to clarity — and from clarity to confidence — so they can build a legacy on purpose.
Many families today aren’t struggling because they lack income.
They’re struggling because they’re drowning in information.
Between podcasts, gurus, social media advice, and conflicting opinions, it’s easy to feel frozen — unsure who to trust, which system to follow, or what step actually matters next. When everything feels important, progress stalls.
This show exists to quiet the noise.
Think of Money & Legacy like a conversation with a trusted friend over coffee — where big financial ideas are distilled, simplified, and made tangible for real life with kids, schedules, faith, and long-term goals.
Laura brings both lived experience and professional training to the mic. She and her husband paid off $372,347 in debt, and for more than five years she has coached hundreds of families to gain clarity, reduce financial stress, and move forward with confidence.
Laura is trained in the Dave Ramsey principles of budgeting and debt elimination, as well as Ken Coleman’s clarity-driven approach to decision-making and purpose. Her coaching style is forward-focused, practical, and intentionally impartial — she does not sell financial products or earn commissions — so every recommendation is made solely in her clients’ best interest.
Most episodes are solo teaching conversations, designed to help you:
- Cut through financial overwhelm and gain clarity
- Build a budget that gives permission, not pressure
- Pay off debt with confidence and direction
- Make calm, values-aligned money decisions
- Create simple systems that work for real family life
- Lead money conversations with confidence at home
Occasionally, Laura brings real families onto the show for coaching conversations, where listeners can hear real questions, real numbers, and real breakthroughs — and yes, you can apply to be coached on the show. Select interviews with thoughtful leaders also support listeners on their financial journey without shame or conflicting advice.
At its core, Money & Legacy is about transformation.
This podcast helps you move from:
Overwhelm → Clarity → Confidence
From reaction to ownership.
From stress to peace.
From survival to legacy.
As you keep listening, money will feel calmer.
Your goals will feel clearer.
And your confidence will grow as you lead your finances with intention.
If you’re ready for money to feel simpler, lighter, and aligned with the life you’re building, you’re in the right place.
Subscribe to Money & Legacy so you don’t miss an episode — and share it with a friend you want to see gain clarity, confidence, and a legacy that lasts.

Hello and welcome to the Accelerate Your Legacy podcast. I'm Laura Sexton, your trusted financial coach and money mindset specialist. Join me as we explore the world of money and money mindset while also paving the way for a lasting legacy that extends far beyond money. Together we'll eliminate stress, amplify freedom, and ensure you stop paying for your past so you can start saving for your future. If you're seeking peace in your finances, more margin in your budget, and a legacy that inspires generations to come, you're in the right place. Hello, Accelerators, and welcome to our 100th episode of Accelerate Your Legacy. Can you believe that we've made it here together? I couldn't have done this without you. Your listens, your feedback, and your encouragement have been the driving force behind every episode. Today we're celebrating this milestone by reflecting on the journey that we've shared and looking ahead to an exciting new year. But this isn't just about what I've done, it's about what we have built together. So let's take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of the key moments that brought us here. When I think about this podcast, the word legacy is at its core. It's at the core of my business. It's one of my core values that legacy, it's more than dollars and cents in a bank account. It is the habits, tools, and mindset that we leave behind. So thinking about the podcast though, I'm thinking about episodes like legacy building one on one, which is episode 91 and securing your legacy practical steps to finishing well, episode 29. These have focused on creating something that lasts far beyond us. These discussions remind us that every decision we make today shapes the story that we leave behind tomorrow. My friends, this is not just money that we're talking about here on the podcast and yes, money is a very important part and it touches every aspect of our life and we're going to get to more of that here soon. But my friends. Thank you so much for being here, accelerating your legacy with me. I couldn't do this without you and I'm just so thankful. And of course, at the heart of building a legacy, it's mastering our finances because money touches every single aspect of our lives. From the basics in Beginner budget basics, which is episode 20 to tackling mindset shifts and debunking the lie. Why debt isn't helpful. Episode 50. This podcast has been about equipping you with tools to take control of your finances. I've loved hearing your stories of how these lessons have helped you break free from financial stress and take bold steps towards your goals. I have loved getting to work with some of you one on one, helping you craft new legacy pieces, new money habits. And helping you let go of some of the shame and the guilt and the negative stories from your past, we all grow up learning something about money. And sometimes the things that we've learned, they're not that great. And so we have to learn to shift our mindset around money, the way that we view money so that we can deepen our relationship with money. Legacy and finances, they're deeply personal, but they also intersect with our careers and our personal growth. So let's talk about how those pieces fit into this podcast journey. Career transitions and personal development have been a recurring theme, whether it's diving into entrepreneurship and self employment 101, which is episode 83, or unpacking what it looks like to coach with me in Coaching with me looks like dot, dot, dot episode 18. We've explored how to align your work with your values. And I want to keep building on that momentum next year. In fact, as I've started career coaching, where I actually help people make sure that they are in the right seat on the right bus, we're going to be talking about that more and more. And of course, We can't talk about legacy without including the people that we love most, our families. Episodes like Four Key Points to Teach Your Kids About Money, episode 14, and Financial Parenthood, Navigating Blame and Responsibility, episode 68, have been about creating a legacy of financial literacy and responsibility within our families. These conversations are a reminder that our legacy isn't just what we leave behind, But it's what we build with the people that we love as we reflect on these themes. I'm reminded of this shared vision that has guided this podcast. It's all about creating a life that reflects your values, empowers your family, and leaves an impact that you are proud of. This podcast wouldn't be what it is without your involvement. Over the past 100 episodes, your feedback and ideas have shaped this space into something meaningful. And now I want to invite you to help shape the next chapter of the podcast. You can jump over to my Instagram at accelerate your legacy and vote on the new Name for the podcast. That's right. We are going to rebrand next year. You will still be my accelerators, but we are going to switch it up just a little bit because Accelerate is hard to spell and some people have been having a hard time finding the podcast. I just want to make it a little bit easier for people to get into this legacy building journey with us. I'd also love if you would let me know what you want to hear next year. Are there topics that you've been itching to learn more about guests that you would love to hear from? Or maybe you would like to join me for a live coaching session or a listener Q and a episode. Please don't be shy. Your voice matters. And I love having conversations with you guys in the DMs. So let's keep it up. This is your chance to be part of the conversation and take an active role in building this show alongside me. With your help, the future of this podcast looks brighter than ever. So let me give you a glimpse of what is to come in the future. As we step into the new year, I'm excited to dive deeper into the themes that matter most, legacy, money, career, and family growth. We're also going to be talking a bit about coaching and maybe doing some, like I said, life coaching here on the podcast. We'll unpack actionable steps, welcome new voices, and tackle challenges together. Here's a little teaser for what's to come. We're going to explore advanced budgeting strategies, career pivots, building intergenerational wealth, And so much more. And I can't wait to share it all with you. And the best part, you're not just along for the ride. You are the co creator of what is next on this podcast. Thank you for making this milestone possible.
