Welcome to the show that empowers you to choose your own adventure in motherhood! Your host, Cat Caldwell Myers, certified coach and CEO of The Adventure Paradox, shares minisodes about her work with animals, children, and podcasting itself. When we aren't dropping minisodes, we deliver life changing interviews with special guests.
Each conversation will bring you ever closer to the adventure that is seeking you, inside your soul, regardless of your current circumstances (the paradox). Many have forgotten that the adventure is NOW - wherever we are, whatever is happening, and whoever we do it with, as much as it is all that we have done and all that we will do. Animals and nature help us do this, as do connecting with teachers and the principles of adventure.
We focus on goals and the realities that often keep us from attaining them, learning to master both in the fullness of "THE Adventure Paradox." Entrepreneurial Mothers, Caretakers and Women who crave elevated relationships and love animals and nature, will especially resonate with our message, community and offerings.
We offer writing and podcasting services to teach professionals how to get in to the top 3% of podcasts, publish a bestseller, find their voice and launch their purpose from anywhere in the world. Please add our show to your library and share a review screenshot with us for a free gift!

The Fourth of July is here, and if you're anything like me, you might be tempted to squeeze every ounce of fun, celebration, and summer adventure into one weekend.
But what if the secret isn't doing more?
What if it's being a little less wrecked tomorrow by what you choose today?
In this minisode, I'm sharing a few of my favorite reminders for navigating busy seasons, from setting timers and taking naps to embracing the occasional "dead day." I talk about recovery, summer with kids, overcommitting, and why rest might be one of the most overlooked parts of a good adventure.
You'll Hear In This Episode:
The question I ask myself when life starts feeling too full
Why recovery is just as important as celebration
My thoughts on naps, dead days, and summer self care
Parenting lessons from a summer without much structure
Repair, responsibility, and reaching out to the people you love
Reflection:
The best adventures aren't always the biggest ones.
Sometimes they're found in the choices that help us stay present enough to enjoy the life we're already living. A little more rest. A little less rushing. A little more intention about what we say yes to.
As you celebrate, connect, and make memories this week, consider this question:
How could you be a little less wrecked tomorrow by what you choose today?

Good afternoon, everybody. Kat here. It's the end of May. I'm in the vibe. If you're watching on the video, I've got this really cool glass from the beautiful Amanda Francis with all these affirmations. And she has helped a lot of people access their wealth and financial abundance and all kinds of good things. And today, what we're talking about is receiving help, the paradox of asking for help, knowing when you need it, knowing how quickly you need it. And I think the greatest paradox of all is actually receiving it. Because it's one thing to realize you need help. And it's another thing to receive the help after you make the ask to get the help that you need. So I have a few hacks for you. We are in 2026. It is the Firehorse Energy. Our podcast has been in existence for about three and a half years. And I am starting to attract some really, really cool guests. This is amazing how podcasting works. If you want to learn more about podcasting, I can help you with that. Reach out to me, the adventureparadox at gmail.com. Reach out to my team and we'll let you know what our summer offers are. A lot of them are connecting people to their voice to podcasting through being outside in nature with horses. Two of my favorite things. Put them together. Let me help you. Okay. Some of the things I have received. I have received from True Wild, a guest who will be on our show next week, wild greens. My golly, we all need our vegetables. And this is a really good superfood, antioxidant, micronutrient, etc. If you're not taking care of your body, everything else is going to be harder. It's going to be hard to receive the help you need. You need vegetables. Received. Will you take them? Yes, these are powdered greens. It's actually a really nice flavor. Cucumber mint. I'm a fan. Another guest we've attracted who will be on the show next month. This is one of the most interesting podcasts I've ever done. As I said, I feel like I need a chemistry lesson. I don't know, but he's this incredible scientist. He did such a cool job explaining pure ESS60 inorganic extra virgin olive oil. He sent me a bunch of samples. I have been taking these daily. It has been very interesting to witness how receiving this help and then taking the help you need is changing my body. I can't wait to tell you guys more about my vital C, living beyond the norms, this incredible compound that he found, extended life in rats. They found that out accidentally, and humans. And so it's been really interesting to hear some of the things people are out there helping folks do. This month, I've had a lot of travel. I went to this speaking competition. I was competing for a $10,000 speaking tour to an Ivy League. My friends, I am so excited to share with you that I came in second place. Oh my gosh, I missed the winning slot by a decimal among the judges. One of the judges came up. He was like, You had my vote. I just want you to know you missed by 0.4. But the winning guy was so incredible and he helped me so much. And I believe coming in second place, I was helping a lot of people too. So hats off to those who are out there doing the heavy work of helping. You see, I've got this funny hood on today if you're watching a video, because we are totally going to take the hat all the way off in just a minute. Here's the thing another one of the speakers who came in third place, actually, and he was so awesome. He is a doctor, a physician, also an army veteran and a professional wrestler. He's coached wrestling, wrestled professionally, et cetera, all of his life. And he was really wrestling with depression. And since we're at the end of mental health awareness month, kicking off June, I feel like it's a really important time to address your mental health. Do you need help there? Do you need help with your physical health? Guess what? It's all connected. And so his book, Wrestling with Depression, he really talks about like he goes through three surgeries in seven months, injury. He's coming on the podcast, by the way, in case you didn't see that coming. And he just isn't feeling like himself, right? So as we're transitioning into this next season, I'm wondering how you're doing really. And if there's a place you need to ask for help, maybe it's therapy, maybe it's mental health, reach out. And in his book, he reaches out and someone's going to see him a week later. And he realizes, I can't wait a week. Maybe whatever help you need, you can't wait a week. Maybe it needs to happen now. So he calls them again. He's like, listen, I'm really struggling. Can you get me in sooner? And they're like, actually, now that you've said that, yeah, we can get you in this afternoon. So when you ask for help, are you really asking for help with the capital help that you need? Or is it something like, oh yeah, we're gonna need help with this within the month? Are you really being clear about your ask? And then after you ask, are you able to receive? And hats off to you if you are. Speaking of receiving, I received one of the most incredible gifts. Traveling to the United Kingdom. I got to go to the Windsor Horse Show at the Windsor Castle. They open up their grounds once a year to the public for all of these horse events. It's been going on since 1943. I was right there next to the Duke. I can tell you so many crazy stories. It was such an adventure. But the other side, the paradox of that is coming home to the jet lag, to all the things waiting for you. When you come back from the mountaintop, the highlight of my life, driving this beautiful white, warm bled named Upton over these beautiful fields near Woburn Abbey. It was just like, oh, it's so awesome, you guys. And then you come home and you need help getting back into your routine of coming through the jet lag, maybe the house was a mess, whatever it is, reconnecting with your family, reconnecting with animals. Are you giving yourself space? Are you giving yourself time? Because sometimes that is actually the help you need. I'm attending my own sermon here, by the way. So hats off to me attending my own sermon, hats off to you guys, fire horse energy. I really want to make sure that if you need help in any department, burn down the part of you saying that it can wait. Get out there, make the call, send the text, show up whether it's your mental health, your physical health, it might be time to start a new fitness journey. That was a big part of my talk, by the way, for the speakfest gig was getting back into physical activity. For me, physical activity is very closely linked to my mental health, to my spiritual health, to my emotional well-being. How is it for you? Have you taken an inventory of how you're really doing and where you might actually need help? And then more importantly, have you asked for the help? Go do that today, make a plan, and then make a plan to receive the help, to be willing, to be open-minded. Because I think that is honestly the greatest paradox of all. It's not just asking for the help, it's being willing to change, to receive that help once it comes, once it shows up. So that is our mini so today. I hope this helped somebody out there who needed to hear that, because I've had quite a few folks coming into my field lately who are like, oh my gosh, I needed to hear that just reaching out for help is not enough. I need to let folks know when I need the help, how urgent it is. And then I need to show up and receive that help when it arrives. Again, whether it's in the form of your coach, your working out, your business coach, your spiritual coach, your therapist, whatever it is. By the way, we have some really awesome podcasts coming up in June, a lot of travel, a lot of adventure. If you want to travel to the Tetons or you're already here and you want to hang out with us, we will be turning into butterflies later this month. And my kids are wanting to tap into their own entrepreneurial spirit and teach other children more about horses. So if you would like to join us and see where horses and butterflies come together, the Grand Butterfly March is happening June 27th in Jackson Hall, Wyoming. We would love to see you there. And we will have lots of other fun things happening this month back at the ranch. So please reach out. You can email my team for more details, theadventureparadox at gmail.com. And now I feel like I'm holding my breath, which is my sign that we've been talking for more than 10 minutes, and it's time to go. This mini soda is up. Please go get the help you need. Make space to receive it. It's all part of the paradox, all part of the adventure called life. I love you. I'm so grateful you're here listening. And if this resonated with you, please share it with a friend. It's never too late. You got this.
