Blown for Good: Scientology Exposed
Marc Headley worked at Scientology’s secret desert compound, which houses all Scientology management, for 15 years. The 500-acre property is located deep in the California desert. The local townspeople were told lectures and films were made there. But is that all that was happening? It is the location of a multi-million dollar home for L. Ron Hubbard, built two decades after his death. It is the home of Scientology’s current leader, David Miscavige. So what really happens at the Int Base? Are the stories on the internet true? How does Scientology conduct management of its day-to-day operations? Could stories of armed guards, weapons, staff beatings, and razor wire fences be true? If so, how could a facility like this exist in modern-day America? Hundreds of staff tried to escape over the years. Some succeeded but were never seen or heard of again, and most failed. Why were people kept here? What really went on at the headquarters of Scientology? This is the story of what happened behind the Iron Curtain of Scientology.

How A Denver Comedy Night Helps Scientology Survivors Rebuild
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A comedy club might be the last place you’d expect to hear real escape logistics, but that’s exactly why Comedy For A Cause worked. Claire and I recap our first in-person fundraiser at Comedy Works South in Denver, including a quick walkthrough of the venue, how the silent auction came together, and why this mission matters for people leaving Scientology who suddenly face lost community, lost income, and even family disconnection.
We break down what went right, what we’ll improve next year, and why donated support from venues, volunteers, artists, and sponsors can turn a fun night into direct help. We also share the impact number that still blows our minds: about $13,000 raised, money that can translate into transportation to safety and other Aftermath Foundation programs like peer support, education grants, crisis help, and more.
Then we jump into listener questions that go deep fast: why some Sea Org members can’t simply “quit” and have to escape, how suppressive person declarations get weaponized, and the internal language Scientology uses to police behavior, including “interbulated” and “non interbulation orders.” We also unpack OT level beliefs around Xenu and body thetans, the repeated bait-and-switch promises, and the intense security culture around OT materials. Plus, we share updates on upcoming projects and new book news in the broader cult recovery community.
If you found this helpful, subscribe for more, share it with someone who follows Scientology news, and leave a review so more people can find survivor-led conversations. What question do you want us to answer next?

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. Welcome to another episode of Blown for Good, Scientology Exposed. I am joined today by my lovely wife, Claire.
SPEAKER_00Hey, hey, hey, everybody. Thanks for joining us this cold, snowy Sunday.
SPEAKER_01I know we got snow here. It was like we had we had like drinks in the driveway on Friday night.
SPEAKER_00And it was like 70.
SPEAKER_0170s. Maybe high 60s. And uh snow today.
SPEAKER_00Yep. There you go.
Comedy Works Venue Walkthrough
SPEAKER_01Um we've got a fun episode for you guys today. Um we basically wanted to show a recap of the Comedy for Cause event that happened a few days ago. And um so Claire put together some slides. Um we've got a whole little deck here. But when we went um live while we were there right before the event, um, I showed a little video that gave a tour of Comedy Works. And so if you hadn't seen the other video pre-event live stream we did, um we wanted to show you guys that here. So let's see. Sound good? Yep, that's good. Let's see if this works here. Welcome to Comedy Works Denver. This is Comedy Works South at Landmark, and uh, we're having an event here tonight. I wanted to show you guys around. So come on in. Caden, my middle son's videoing this. So this is the box office where you can take it. Um, this is where people will be coming in. There's a bar over this way, and then um the event were happens up here. Come on. Come on. So this is where the event is. Don't pan over too far because we don't want to get too much sunlight in there. Um you can see there's Catherine and Chris Shelton and Helen and Matt Pash and Claire and Clara, and they're all setting up for the event. And then over here and uh there's gonna be dining over here. And then also dining in here if you made a reservation and you want to get something more than just eau d'herbes and uh snacks and stuff. You can actually just have a whole meal in here. Uh let's go down to the comedy stage. I'm gonna have a corn hearing. I'm looking up and down the stairs on the stage. The stairs, it's a lot of stairs for up and down three or four times in a row.
SPEAKER_00You're huffing and pooping.
SPEAKER_01I am. They got the they got Claire's video plane up there, the aftermath video. Um you put your phone in a pouch and lock it up, so there's no recording. And then uh this is the stage in here. They're just testing, getting the video plane in here, too. This is it. You got all the seating down here, and then there's also a balcony up there, uh, a whole balcony across the top. And um, yeah, so this is Comedy Works Denver. This is our aftermath uh comedy for a cause event. And um hope you guys like it. That's it. That's it.
Why The Fundraiser Exists
SPEAKER_00That's it. Yes, great job. All right, yes, so Comedy for a Cause, our first ever in-person event. Goal of the event for many people leaving Scientology, the loss of community, financial stability, and family support can be overwhelming. Funds raised at this event go directly toward helping individuals take their first steps towards independence, safety, and a self-directed future. So, yes, it was a it was a great, a great venue, great event, great turn turnout. We it was awesome to have so many people come together. Um, it was just a really there was no negatives.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there was a few people there that we just didn't know. And so there was a f it was a few people that were like, Well, these are people we do not know, or or we haven't met in person. Yes, and so we were sort of like, okay, we'll see, we'll see. I thought for sure that there at least had to be one or two OSA people in there. For sure. Yeah, but who knows which two of those people.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00They didn't cause any trouble, so maybe they were debating whether to submit an application for aid, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Okay, so yeah, I did that. Yes, the tour.
Silent Auction Setup And Lessons
SPEAKER_00We did the venue tour, yeah. So we so for anyone who didn't join the live stream on Wednesday, so the event was on March 11th, Wednesday, March 11th. Um, and it started at 6. We had the upstairs dining area, we had the whole silent auction, um, all a lot of baskets laid out. We had some items that were for in-person bidding and some that were also included online. Um, so we'll organize that better for next year. We learned some good lessons from that. But really, uh typically at an event like this, the silent auction is for attendees. But because we wanted to broaden it to involve the community and everything else, we that's why we opted to do the online option, which was really good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was because and also just depending on weather and how it ends up people trap people's travels and stuff like that. So um it's good to be have some people on the interwebs get a chance to.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01It was also good for us to do so that we could see how much we could handle as an organization on putting together an event and all the different things that went into it. So it was a good kind of first uh whack at it. And um and whenever you're doing a fundraiser, you want to get take in more money than you're spending on the fundraiser, and we well, well exceeded that. So that was also we we had we had a lot of things donated for from people to make this happen.
Comedy Works Support And Comedy Memories
SPEAKER_00And absolutely, I want to focus for a minute on Comedy Works, and our good friend Wendy Um use of the space was donated, which was absolutely huge. If you live in Colorado and you haven't visited Comedy Works, there's two locations actually, one in downtown Denver, and this was this one is Comedy Works South, but it's our personal favorite.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Um, it's absolutely awesome. You can go there for dinner, and if you make a dinner reservation and you have tickets for a comedy show, it's like the the uh insider information that you'll get. You'll get like from your dinner reservations, you get straight into priority seating, no waiting in line.
SPEAKER_01It's we've seen a lot of good shows. We've we saw uh probably 50 shows there.
SPEAKER_00Yes, including ones that were the material was used for Netflix specials.
SPEAKER_01We saw a Dave Chappelle show, and I'm pretty sure that one it was a long, long show. He had a bottle of booze and cigarettes and a pack of cigarettes, and he pretty much got he was sharing doing shots with the audience.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's I remember that one because man, there were two people in the front row that he was going to town with. It was so, so funny.
SPEAKER_01But also that show was through like pretty much the majority of three Netflix specials. Yes. So it was a long show, and it was hilarious. Maybe the best show I've ever been to in my life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and we've been to some really funny shows there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we have a lot.
SPEAKER_00Um, but yes, so Comedy Works South, there. Wendy's support of our cause and our mission is just so, so meaningful. Her staff is amazing, the facility was amazing. They did great.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and she even showed up for a little bit. Yes, I know. It was so good to see her. Made an appearance.
SPEAKER_00Yes, absolutely. And oh, and also shout out to our staff and board members who showed up. Of course, the amazing Clara, Katherine Olsen, Katherine Christensen, um, both came for the event. Uh and yep.
SPEAKER_01And Catherine also made a lot of things for the event as well. Yes. Artwork and pictures and all kinds of things she could she brought in.
SPEAKER_00Yes, absolutely. As did um other survivors like Serge Obolinsky, um, drew an amazing uh he did a pen drawing for our auction, which was just awesome. And Shannon Komodo also did a really awesome um, donated an amazing piece of art that she created. Um, she said I could say her name. So you're looking at me funny, like I'm like, no, we're good. We're good. Okay.
SPEAKER_01You know, there is a cut in the middle of that video, and it's because there were some people I was not supposed to show on camera that were that need to not to be seen by the camera. So there's a big jump cut right in that video, in the middle of that video, and that's me splicing in another take of some some of the video.
Donors Art Merch And Auction Items
SPEAKER_00It's all good. You you took care of business, so I'm grateful. And um, okay, yeah, so also special thanks to Mitch Brisker. He did actually two versions of um uh a promotional video for the event, one for pre-event, one for to be played at the event, which was amazing. They had TVs in the lobby at Comedy Works where the video was playing, and then we also played it. I I gave a speech at the start of the event, and then we played the video for the for all the attendees, which was awesome. Um, and this is our team photo before the event. Amazing crew, like I said, our team of volunteers took a photo on stage before the event. Yeah, there you go. Um, auction items. We had custom embroidered Eddie Bauer jackets with our logo. There's me modeling them with um our board member Helen. Uh, those were they're super cool jackets. Really, really nice.
SPEAKER_01I know. You guys were like, hey. I was like, ooh, I why are we giving these away?
SPEAKER_00I know. I bid on one and then I got outbid, which was kind of funny.
SPEAKER_01I bid on I re I bid on one of the um one of the auctions and I kept getting outbid by people, and I was like, this is crazy that they want this.
SPEAKER_00Yep. And then there was um Marcus, a cracker liquor gift basket, which was donated. Yes, you did. We I think we have oh yeah, there you go. You're there. It's that's the photo you can see there. That was donated by Cam Kansas. Super grateful for all of Kathy Mannweiler's help with the event. And um, yeah, so that was the cracker liquor basket. Uh this was the piece of art that Shannon donated. Um, it's kind of hard to tell, but it's um like 3D media. Um so yeah, anyway, super cool. Um that was also, yeah, that was also pretty awesome. There was like 40 bids on that, I want to say.
SPEAKER_01It was pretty awesome. It's literally textured in the what it's painted kind of thing. It's it's it's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yep. And this is the artwork from Surge. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's got, I think that's the Cinerama Dome, and that's the uh I think it's the Bonaventure. And that's the Staples Center. I don't know, I'm guessing. It's very cool.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, anyway, very appreciative. He was so excited when I asked him.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00He was like, Yes, I'm on it. I'm doing it. And so, you know, the SP shop sent him money for art supplies and and all that. So anyway, he got it done. And then okay, he loves that stuff too. Yes, honorable mention, John Christensen's Xeno and the Body Thetans hand-drawn poster, which we have um right behind you now. Did you see I added that?
SPEAKER_01I did. Yeah. I put it, I put the light behind it instead of the light in front of it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, good.
SPEAKER_01So you can see it.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Anyway, that was also absolutely amazing.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I should show that on the big screen here. So people are like, yeah, whatever. We didn't see anything.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Put it, it's right there.
SPEAKER_00There you go. Other way, there you go, right there behind me. It's very cool. Yeah, very cool. And then the other photo there, that's Catherine's artwork uh from Castle Rock, Colorado. Beautiful, beautiful shot. That's one of my favorites of Catherine's Colorado series that she was included for the auction.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So so far, we still have donations coming in, but we were all told we've raised$13,000, which is amazing.
SPEAKER_01For be able to get all those things done and also come out on top was amazing.
SPEAKER_00And that goes to help that amount can help transport 26 survivors to safety. Um, and also obviously, we have so many programs, education grants, our online support group, um, peer support, our crisis line, the billboards, etc. So um all very meaningful funds that will go to very good use. And we're just so grateful to everyone who came to the event, everyone who who joined the live stream before the event, everyone who helped us to be able to pull it off. Uh, we learned so much really important lessons. We did.
SPEAKER_01It was perfect for it was perfect for the the for the first kind of one.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it was.
SPEAKER_01It was um like we've had meetings and like meetups before, but this is like we actually had to put on a show. We had to do a whole lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_00And we talked to so many people. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01There was a lot of people there from all over, too. Yes, from I want to say at least six or seven states we had people coming in from. And um, is there another slide?
SPEAKER_00Maybe even more. Uh yeah, we'll go back because we'll get to that later.
SPEAKER_01Oh. Um the um my cousin and her and my aunt and her family a lot of family members were there in the audience, and I didn't know they were there because they didn't come for the dinner, they just came for the show.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01And um and I was like, Oh my god, what are you guys doing here? And they're like, Oh, we wouldn't miss this for the world. And we I was like, Oh my goodness. Yes. Anyway, and I was sitting there talking with them, and then some some of the ushers came through and said, Hey, you gotta get out of here. There's somebody sitting here. And it was the mayor of Brighton and his wife that was sitting right next to them. And I was like, Wow, this is wild.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, and and for context, uh Tony Ortega did an article about the mayor of Brighton last year because the city of Brighton had made May 9th Dianetics Day, and and actually Wendy from Comedy Works is the person that brought it to my attention, and we immediately jumped on this to meet with the mayor of Brighton to tell him how woefully misinformed he was.
SPEAKER_01How wild is that if that she gets a notification when something related with Scientology happens? She pays attention. Anyway, she saw this article, and otherwise we never would have known about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was like in the paper kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway, we went and met with him in his, you know, respectfully, he was incredibly responsive. He was absolutely mortified. And so he met with myself, Mark, Chris Shelton, and Bruce Hines, and we explained to him, you know, all the things he didn't know about the connections between Dianetics and Scientology and the abusive and destructive practices of the Scientology organization. And of course, May 9th is no longer Dianetics Day in the city of Brighton.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they rescinded it like before it ever got done.
SPEAKER_00Yes. No, we're talking about Brighton, Colorado.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, not yeah.
SPEAKER_00Not somebody asked Brighton, UK.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, no, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and then also um, I think we even gave him a copy of my book.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we did. Yeah. Yeah, and we gave him a whole like folder of, you know, a fact sheet about all the very problematic issues in Dianetics itself. And more to the point, he I mean, it wouldn't be hard to establish a connection, but it was carefully played from by Scientology at the outset with no reference to Scientology.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they never mentioned that at the end of the year. None. So, of course, an author of a self-help book kind of right.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. The modern science of mental health as it's you know pitched.
SPEAKER_01Bestseller and translated into 77 languages.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway, so yeah, a lot of amazing people came to the event. Um, people that, you know, and also not just um former Scientologists, but other cult people recovering from cults and um some of the things.
SPEAKER_01Denver Steve was there.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yes, yes, that was awesome. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Denver Stevo and his wife came. Yeah. Um yeah, it's fun stuff.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we had a really good turnout. We were lucky to have amazing weather, so there was no snow interruptions or, you know, this time of year as a roll of the dice. So everything went perfectly.
SPEAKER_01Awesome. Can I show this other slide now?
SPEAKER_00Yes, you may.
SPEAKER_01Okay, there we go.
unknownHere we go.
Annual Plans And Book Updates
SPEAKER_00Thank you to all who came to the event, bid on items, watched the live stream, donated, and or continue to support our mission. Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, everybody. Um, okay, announcements. We're hoping to make Comedy for a Cause an annual event. Stay tuned. And a little bit Colties, Sarah Edmondson and Nippy Ames released a book this week. You can purchase it on Amazon, a little bit colty. I'm so looking forward to reading this book. I ordered my copy last night off Amazon. And Sarah and I will be um doing an interview once I've read the book on this channel. So you can look forward to that. And yeah, so there you go. That's that.
SPEAKER_01Awesome. Is that that that's it? That's the last one.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Oh, yeah. And um, I put up a community post yesterday since I very often get asked about my book status, and since I'm absolutely, if it kills me, I'm gonna finish it this year. Hopefully I didn't drink that, but um, so I put up a sub stack which will also be added to my claireheadley.com website um to make book announcements.
SPEAKER_01How do we have our domains?
SPEAKER_00I can I I know the answer to that. No, you bought yours, yeah, which is it's kind of funny in retrospect. I think what it's one of the first things you did when we got out the minute we had any kind of disposable income.
SPEAKER_01That's exactly right. The very first thing I did was like, I gotta buy the domains on myself, otherwise they're gonna jam me up.
SPEAKER_00Which is so funny because you know, who would have thought like eight years later, they had to come up with a different strategy of the whois series because your name was already gone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyhow, I think I somewhere in there, you got your domain, and I was like, Well, wait a minute, I should get mine then. So I got mine and I didn't ever do anything with it until a couple of years ago, and I was like, Didn't even point to BFG?
SPEAKER_01No, no, unbelievable.
SPEAKER_00I know. So now I have I have just a holding page where you can sign up for you know um for the a book mailing list, but now I'll have the Substack embedded there too.
SPEAKER_01You could probably do the pre-orders through there, too.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, that's what I've already um planned. So, you know, because some people prefer watching YouTube or, you know, they're not books are not really their thing. Um, but either way, that's why I figured having a dedicated place for news and updates would be a really good thing. So yay.
SPEAKER_01Awesome.
Live Q And A Starts
SPEAKER_00Yep, yep. All right, so that covers uh that. So we can pop in your questions, we'll we'll get to all that. We didn't didn't have a huge amount planned today because we're honestly still in recovery from from the last week of so many things going on.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, me too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I still have a tax deadline coming up. I'm like, and my book and and and and and and but I did commit to attending howdycon. Hopefully you can too.
SPEAKER_02Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_00Uh HowdyCon 2026. I think it's um anyway, it's on Tony Ortega's blog in terms of location and date, but I want to say it's September 18th to the 20th. I think it's in Connecticut, I'm not sure, but I know that um the the um any proceeds from that event will benefit the Michael J. Rinder Aftermath Foundation, which I'm super grateful about. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Apostate Alex will be there.
SPEAKER_01Wow. When is it when is it?
SPEAKER_00September 18th to the 20th. I put it on the calendar.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we'll see.
SPEAKER_00Poor Mark.
unknownUh
SPEAKER_01I'm already flying all over the ding dang place.
SPEAKER_00I know that's why I didn't commit you to do it.
SPEAKER_01Look at like 49 states now, right? I know. I know. It's like Hawaii, the only holdout.
SPEAKER_00Right. Um Yeah, even Alaska is off the list now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Okay, here's a question. I think it's about a comedian.
SPEAKER_00Question. Have you guys seen Kath Kathleen Madigan's stand-up? She's hilarious. No.
SPEAKER_01I haven't seen her stand-up, but I used to listen to I used to have Sirius Radio and she was on there nonstop all day, all night on uh one of the comedy channels on there. Um here we go.
SPEAKER_00All right, Angela, I was thrilled to read your substack. Can't wait for your book to come out. I'm reading Mark's book at the moment. Yay! Thank you, Angela. We shipped your Davy doll to you, so hopefully you enjoy that. Oh, yeah, we got stuff. I'm behind on responding to emails, but I will get Clara's gonna help me with that too. It's just a lot. I'm not complaining.
SPEAKER_01We had a lot of uh SP shop and blown for good merch has been going out, and a lot of Davy dolls. So every time you buy one of these Davy dolls, this little guy here, this little feller, uh fake Navy Davy, Captain Chucklesworth, Captain Whack from TGAC, whatever you want to call him.
SPEAKER_00Um was the leprechaun title?
SPEAKER_01Uh I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anyway, whatever. It's funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, dopey lep dopey wannabe leprechaun guy. Um anyway, all the proceeds from that go to the Aftermath Foundation as well. So SP Shop is one of the main contributors.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and S the SP Shop was also an event sponsor.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Yes. The SP Shop has been a very, very large uh contributor to the Aftermath Foundation.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh but does it show that? Uh yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, one love. I'll be buying Claire's book to pair with Mark's book. Love it. Awesome. Nice. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Gonna make sure the in Scientology they made books and they never ever thought about the spines. Yes. So all of their books, the spine the the the foil or the stamp or the letters on the spines, whether in a paperback or a hardback, would go they would they would move up and down if they were on a shelf like that.
SPEAKER_00Right, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So we gotta make sure whatever yours has got matches mine.
SPEAKER_00Mark's OCD will go bonkers if uh if I don't have that exactly lined up, right? Yes, but um I will be within the next month, I'll be releasing the cover, the title on the sub stack, um, and news and updates. Um it's it will have a two-month production time. So um anyway.
SPEAKER_01Cool.
SPEAKER_00It will be good, it'll be awesome.
SPEAKER_01Awesome, and then we got a few people uh telling us what's going on.
SPEAKER_00Hi Claire and Mark, greetings from the Italian Alps, though I'm originally from Stockholm, Sweden. Wow, that's amazing! Thank you for joining us. Yeah, uh, love and life question How far did Miscavige read in Mike's render Mike Render's voice in honor of him for this event get in Scientology? And if he hasn't done the OT levels, how do you guys think he learned about Zenu? Oh no, he has done the OT levels. He was OT7 um in 2005. He had not, I think he was, I don't remember, in Jesse Prince's The Expert Witness book, he talks about how tr how much training Miscavige did. Yeah. But there's a story I want to say that Jesse has in there where Miscavige trained as an auditor as a teenager and ended up yelling at his um the person he was counseling and uh getting in a lot of trouble. Surprise, surprise, right? That should have been fair warning that uh nothing good was coming from this kiddo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they used to uh Ron Miscavige uh told me that uh when he was young and they were in Scientology, they would call him uh N Theta Enrique and Theta. Enrique and Theta.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That was a joke, because he was such a such a like just rotten and mean. And they called him Enrique and Theta.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01N Theta in Scientology means just kind of like uh uh upsetting things that are upsetting people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And theta is it comes it comes from interbulated theta, yeah, which basically means like you know, b you got bad uh bad juju.
SPEAKER_01That's true. In Scientology, they have this word interbulated. Yeah. And that basically means like if I went up to a Scientologist and they said, Oh, what's that book? And I said, Oh, it's a book about how horrible Scientology is. And you know, I talk about Zenu and the body thetans and all that, they would that they would be interbulated by by hearing this.
SPEAKER_00Aaron Powell And and how would they respond? It would be like this Mark, stop interbulating me. You're interbulating me. I'm gonna write a knowledge report on you.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, but in Scientology, if you kind of jack with another Scientologist and you troll them or mess with them or just anything, they get interbulated. And also, when you get interbulated, you're not supposed to go in session. You have to get un you have to can't be interbulated when you go into session and get the counseling.
SPEAKER_00Trevor Burrus, Jr. Yeah. And if you're a repeat offender, they even have a sheet of paper that's called a non-interbulation order, which by the way was part of my expert witness testimony explaining what a non-interbulation order was in the Danny Masterson trial. Trevor Burrus, Jr.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It basically is Scientology puts out a notice to all the Scientologists in that area. Hey, listen, if some guy's talking about Xenu or they say, listen, you can't talk to this guy. And if he causes one more person to be interbulated and they report him, then he will be declared a suppressive person.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. It's kind of like your last the the last uh threat of expulsion and everything else. Uh right before. Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it basically shuts down, especially if he's telling the truth about David Miscavige or Scientology or L. Ron Hubbard or whatever it is.
SPEAKER_00Scientology calls the truth black propaganda. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They have a word for the truth, but they are. Um yeah, that's crazy.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_01Crazy stuff.
Why Escaping The Sea Org Matters
SPEAKER_00Yep, absolutely. Okay, moving on here. Uh hello from Malibu. Hello. Nice. Hi, Mark and Claire from Australia. Nice. Thank you so much for joining us. Hi from California. Uh question. Can you please explain the necessity to escape Scientology? I mean, would they have physically barred you from leaving and imposed forced confinement if you had simply said you were leaving? Okay, so backing up for a minute, we were Mark and I both were had signed billion-year contracts and were in the C organization. That's number one that you need to understand. Number two is that we were working at the headquarters in Gilman Hot Springs, California, which is not only extremely remote, but also extremely guarded and secure. So um, so it's not necessarily that every single Scientologist would have to escape, but members of the C organization know. They are not allowed to just escape, no matter where they're physically located. And Scientology wields over you as a member of the C organization that they can declare you a suppressive person, which means that you'll lose every friend, every family member, um, every associate, oftentimes Scientologists were uh sorry, um, yeah, Scientologists work for other Scientologists, their friends are other Scientologists. So Scientology wields leverage and control over its members by virtue of those factors. Now, circling back to our circumstance, you want to talk about what happened to you when you tried to leave?
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, they ran me off the road on the motorcycle.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And had a a random passerby not called 911, you would not have succeeded in escaping.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Basically, I mean, they took the keys from my bike, and then we're gonna go and then we're gonna drive back to the property.
SPEAKER_00Right. They were gonna bring you back. Um, and and there is a copy of that police report in the paperback version of Mark's book. But e and even in that police report, the officers say how they called for backup because there were four security guards in the security SUV that ran you off the road, and they felt the police officer, the responding police officers felt they needed backup.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Which says a lot to me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And and also for us, we were declared suppressives before we ever spoke out or said anything about Scientology.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01I wanted to make sure that's clear. Like, yeah, we we were living in Kansas City, and she was working at a pizza restaurant, and I was fixing computers, and the day after Claire escaped is what my entire family were told they could never speak to me ever again.
SPEAKER_00The day after I escaped, I don't think I'd even arrived in Kansas City yet. I was still on the Greyhound bus.
SPEAKER_01That's right. And they also did that without telling us anything, and then continued to negotiate with us in terms of not declaring us for five months. They made out like if we did this and we did this and we did this and we did this, then we might not get declared. But they'd already declared us before they started doing any of those talks and notified all of our family members.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and very specifically, Greg Wilhair, who was at the time David Miscavige's right-hand man, told us in an email that we have a copy of that our suppressive person declare was on hold.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was meanwhile, when was that?
SPEAKER_00That was like our entire family had been told they could never speak to us ever again, which they haven't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was like in March. Right. We'd already been declared for three months by the time.
SPEAKER_00Oh, and then my favorite, I'm being sarcastic, of course, was also in March. We got a phone call from Warren McShane, Mr. Deputy Inspector General for Legal Affairs Religious Technology Center, saying, Oh And and corn on the internet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh and w a professional liar for David Miscavige. That's his his uh what he's most well known for.
SPEAKER_01That's how David Miscavige talks about it.
SPEAKER_00Yes, not me. That's not my description, that's David Miscavige's description. Anyhow, Warren McShane calls. This is after, you know, two months after Greg Wilhair told us it was on hold, which was a lie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Now Warren McShane calls us. We're three months into a lease on our apartment. We both have jobs, um, all of this. And Warren says, so um, you asked what what was the deal. All that has to happen is sorry, it's so nuts thinking about this in retrospect. Warren. So, yes, uh, if you come back and do the rehabilitation project for us, it will be canceled. Like, bro, I have slept for more in the last two months than I slept in the 15 years prior. Yeah, I also watch like more movies than I watched the entire rest of my life. I have a job. I've learned that there are really good people in this outside world.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And guess what? I'm not flipping burgers, though I'd be happy to.
SPEAKER_01Um She was flipping pizzas.
SPEAKER_00I wasn't, I was a pizza restaurant waitress.
SPEAKER_01She wasn't even flipping pizzas.
SPEAKER_00Talk about, yeah, talk about surreal. Like going from being in the hole, yeah, escaping, being a little bit. Never getting a chance to eat. And three days later, I'm working at a pizza restaurant taking orders and all this. It was literally one it's to this day.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01The like it's like I went through a portal to another world.
SPEAKER_00Right. A really nice world, by the way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I remember sometimes you'd get off work early, or it would be like it in the middle of the week, maybe it was a little slow, and then you would basically just come home after lunch, kind of thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01After the lunch rush. And then it would be like, what do we do?
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01What do you want to do?
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01What do we what we're like, why have you take we don't have any money, but we don't we can do whatever we want. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We had like 10 hours to kill. We were like, wow, this is this is a really unusual feeling.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That was a long answer for whatever that question was.
SPEAKER_00Yes. All right. Hi from the Innerbanks, IBX on the Albemarle Sound, North Carolina. Albemarle Sound, North Carolina, named after George Monk, 1608 to 1670, the first Duke of Albemarle. I've heard Albemarle. Heard Claire try and pronounce it a while back. Albemarle. Oh my goodness. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Keep them coming, folks. Keep them coming. They're the best. If you live somewhere that's got a weird name that Claire might not be able to pronounce, please write in and say that. So we're going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness. Good evening from the Netherlands, Trevan. Thank you so much for joining us. Katie, my first live after lots of podcasts listening. Hi from Ferndale, Michigan. Awesome. SPEAKER_01Oh, here's Apate Alex.
SPEAKER_00Apostate Alex in the House, Deputy, joking and degrading in charge. Human Emotion and Reaction Unit, International Association of Suppressive Persons, UK reporting for duty. Sir.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he needs to work on that title, man. That's a lot.
SPEAKER_00I didn't want to, I mean, you know.
SPEAKER_01That's a word salad right there, dude. He really jammed him in. Every single thing. Yes. Besides unit.
SPEAKER_00The only thing he could have, you know, he said he could have promised not to cause any ARC breaks or you know, those kinds. Oh gosh. Or he's finished his OWs.
SPEAKER_02Just keep reading.
SPEAKER_00Angel Cat. Hi from Sunland, California. We're in the middle of a heat wave. It's supposed to be in the 80s. Wow. That's crazy. Question Will be Will there be new episodes on the Aftermath channel? Yes, Vernon. Thank you so much for asking. Um, obviously, we've been a little tied up with pulling off this first event, but um, we already have some amazing thoughts, ideas, and plans coming. So we will get that picked back up again and resume. So if you haven't subscribed to the Aftermath Foundation on YouTube, please do so. Hit that notification bell, and uh we'll put up some announcements here on the community page at BFG as well, so that you're notified when those pick back up again. But we're looking forward to that too. Angel Cat, thanks for all you do. Thank you so much. We appreciate you.
SPEAKER_01Super chat.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Haven't seen one of those in a while. Here you go. Uh oh, here's here's a Betsy Sue question.
SPEAKER_00Question If they get interbulated, wouldn't that mean they haven't mastered their reactive mind? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Again, go figure out. You can't insert too much logic into this because once you start poking holes in it, it you it's like popping a balloon.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Uh hi from North Texas. Nice. Thank you for joining us.
Interbulation And Scientology Humor
SPEAKER_01Oh, here we go. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Question Love and Life. Is there such a thing as Scientology humor? Like, would a Scientologist attend a regular comedy show, or would there even be a Scientology comic, or do they just completely lack joy? Yeah. We were talking about this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We've been talking about this because of the comedy show.
SPEAKER_01There's a funny thing that Hubbard said as a joke, which I do think is funny.
SPEAKER_00One thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, one thing. That I thought was funny. You know, everything that I read, there was one thing that I particularly stuck out as me as funny. Do tell. Is he gives this uh back-handed compliment and he says, They said you were fit to sleep with pigs, but I s no, they said you weren't fit to sleep with pigs, but I said you were.
SPEAKER_00Oh boy.
SPEAKER_01As a what? Anyway, that's it. That's that's the only thing I can think of that gave me a little bit of a. Well, that's what I'm saying. That's the only thing that barely could make it on the radar fun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, there is a policy, or actually it's a um it's a red-on-white reference written by Hubbard that talks about jokers and degraders. Um, and as a result of that, um usually anytime someone would make jokes, they would get a knowledge report written on them for joking and degrading. And oh no, Catherine and I were talking about this when we got back from the comedy show. We're like, why does it have to be joking and degrading? Like, what if you're just joking? Or what if you're just degrading?
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's true.
SPEAKER_00Why do they have to be lumped together?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00As like automatically, if you're joking, you're joking and degrading.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, it's just a weird weird oddity. So yeah, they lack joy.
SPEAKER_01Did I show this one?
SPEAKER_00Uh Brian, it's another lovely day in Portland, Oregon, and another empty day at the Portland org. Yay!
SPEAKER_02Nice.
SPEAKER_00Hooray. Uh, my fur first live. Oh, yeah, we did this one. Thank you for joining us, Katie. Um, Claire, didn't you you tell us that Shelly was upset with David Miscavige because he didn't do auditing? He stayed he started after she was disappeared. So, yes, I did say that and so this was in 1998. David Miscavige was losing his mind at the time.
SPEAKER_01Just uh I mean he lost his mind all the time, but at this particular time it was because of He was having several tire uh little tantrums on a regular, regular, regular basis.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it was just a matter of what's it gonna be today. Um but at this time um the wrongful death of Lisa McPherson had a pending uh several pending lawsuits, actually. I think there was a criminal one and a civil one. Um and Shelley.
SPEAKER_01Oh, there you go.
SPEAKER_00No, how do you do not just uh Well, he's my son, so it bypasses all of that. Back to the question.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say real quick. Grayson went on a trip. Yes, and he went by himself.
SPEAKER_00He flew on the plane as an unaccompanied minor.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And he's he's not on the plane five minutes, and we get a picture of him sitting in the cockpit with the the person in the PIC.
SPEAKER_00Yes, pilot in command.
SPEAKER_01Pilot in command.
SPEAKER_00He was in the second pilot seat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00We were like, dude, this kiddo, he's super lucky. And then, yeah, anyway, he's having a blast. It's spring break, and um He's having a good old time. He's been yeah, he's having a really good time. But back to the topic at hand. Yes, in 1998, Shelly Miscavige was working to try and get David Miscavige some counseling, auditing. Um, in fact, he was going to go in session with Angie Trent because Shelley stated she was worried that David Miscavige was having a psychotic break. Um, and I don't know actually for sure that he did ever go back in session after that. To my knowledge, from what I've um heard in the last 20 years, if he did any auditing, it was auditing or counseling that he did on himself, not with another person involved.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's called solo auditing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And he also he was redoing all the OTA materials and all he knew he was redoing all those materials. Yeah. And they would make packs and this and that and the other thing. So he was seeing them, whatever it was that you're supposed to do.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Yahoo.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um it says is that why he disappeared her? I don't think that's why he disappeared her. It was a it was a number of things where she was basically doubting uh that he had it all together kind of.
SPEAKER_00But Tom Cruise was a huge part of why she was disappeared, because she disapproved of their bromance. So Uh there's that.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
OT Levels Xenu And Body Thetans
SPEAKER_00Question. I've been following the aftermath for years and always wondered if some people leave after reaching the highest OT level with all that crazy Xenu and spaceship madness. Yeah, so Xenu comes into the picture when you do um the third upper level, the OT3. Um but to answer your question, yes, there are the I think the drop-off when people get to the highest OT level, which is OT8, is higher than any other level. Also, it's more expensive.
SPEAKER_01But like Yeah, the percentage I that's true. But the percentage of people in Scientology, there is a large drop-off after clear. There's a large drop-off of after OT3. Yep. And then there's a a completely crazy drop-off on OT eight. Because if you've made it all the way to OT eight, the chances of you staying a Scientologist at that point are very minimal because there's nothing past that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And there's nothing for you to do.
SPEAKER_00They've played all their cards. Like nothing left to show.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There's also been 27 different bait and switches. Like, oh, you know, I know you think you got rid of your reactive mind, but actually you created your reactive mind. Yeah, or then all these first you have to get rid of all these N theta thoughts, these N grams.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_01And then now you have to get rid of aliens that are that have problems like that. Isn't that one where you they say no that aliens have uh different things that you have to get rid of that? Like if they did drugs or they didn't aliens this listen to this, guys. This is real. After you get rid of all the engrams, and then after you get rid of a bunch of aliens and you find out what they're doing, then you find out some of those aliens did drugs. And that's why you're doing weird stuff. And you gotta get you gotta somehow what do you do to the alien? How do you get him if he's already done drugs? What do you do?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, so we need to back up for just a minute. OT3, the wall of fire. Yeah, you're it's like I I want to say, I think it was like a thousand hours is the minimum on that level that you're doing on yourself, and you're telepathically finding these body things that have stuck themselves to you. And sometimes they're clusters, which means that they're like combined, they're stuck to each other.
SPEAKER_01Like 10,000 alien aliens.
SPEAKER_00It could be unlimited, it could be two, but they're like compacted together. So they they've become one identity, but to help them escape, you have to unpack them first. But hold on, back on on topic. For OT3, the wall of fire, you do these thousands of hours, and when you're done, it's because you have no more body things. So, yay, you made it through the wall of fire. Boom. Okay, let's go on to OT4. But wait, there's more. You couldn't find them because they're associated with drugs and this, that, and the other thing.
SPEAKER_02So it masked them.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it masked them. Exactly. That's a good way to put it. You just weren't ready to find those ones yet. You thought they were all gone, but actually But on OT3 you got rid of all your aliens. Yes.
SPEAKER_01And the end phenomena is I don't got any more body thetans messing with me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Just want to this is a these are major baitens, which is for sure.
SPEAKER_00Um so then so then you get all you address all the ones that have issues with drugs, um, and then boom, you're done with OT4. Because OT4 is the OT drug rundown. And then OT5 is NED for OTs, new era dianetics for OTs. So now you're anyway, it's so complicated.
SPEAKER_01But but you keep getting rid of aliens all the way up to OT7.
SPEAKER_00Yes, all the way through OT7.
SPEAKER_01So that's a lot of aliens.
SPEAKER_00It is.
SPEAKER_01We're talking, it could be thousands, tens of thousands, or millions of aliens that you have to get rid of.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Millions.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01In one person.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01I'm telling you, folks. This is not cool. Um, anyway, uh, I'm telling you, when the aliens come back to Earth.
SPEAKER_00Trevinon says, it all makes sense now, Claire. Where do I sign up? That's why I say, this is why I say that it's the most elaborate case of the Emperor's new clothes. So this is why I say that.
SPEAKER_01Anyway, if you're getting rid of aliens and so oh, and also, by the way, OT3 can take a couple of months to a year. You gotta do a thousand hours. Is that what you said?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh T three, yeah, minimum.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so that could take a year or two.
SPEAKER_00It might have been 300 hours. I don't remember. But I remember a specific amount of hours.
SPEAKER_01That takes, let's say, a few months to a year.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Then OT4 is very quick. It's basically just like a course where you learn about all this nonsense that you we just talked about. And then OT5, you do that, right?
SPEAKER_00That no, so OT5, okay, yeah, that's a good point. So OT3 up to OT3, so one to three is solo auditing. So you literally are holding the cans yourself, you're keeping notes on yourself, you're writing worksheets, you're doing the commands, you're communicating with your body thetans telepathically.
SPEAKER_01You're doing space coody conversations.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's it's you're not saying anything, but you're doing like you're giving the command. Like, do you have an ARC break? And if you you look to see if you get a read, and if you do, but it's all like you're not saying anything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But you're writing down the doing the commands, but you're doing them in your mind. Yes. And you're sending your intention to the space cooties.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and you're keeping track of what the needle on the dial is doing and all this. So that's OT1 to three. OT4, you do with an auditor. So somebody is delivering that to you.
SPEAKER_01And they're asking you, hey, what about any have you? Do you have any space cooties that have done drugs?
SPEAKER_00That's not the command.
SPEAKER_01Do you are your spleen where your space cooti junkies are?
SPEAKER_00How are your space cooties doing today?
SPEAKER_01Um, and and your space cooties could be doing any kind of drugs.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. So usually the way that it starts is there's an assessment that is done of like uh that consists of all the drugs you've ever taken.
SPEAKER_01Um and so you make that list for them.
SPEAKER_00No, they make it for you from your folders because they have a record of every drug you've ever taken.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So then they even include other drugs too, as I rec recall.
SPEAKER_01So that like if you like Novocaine?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, for sure. LSD, Angel Dust.
SPEAKER_01Novocaine and LSD are a little different.
SPEAKER_00Well, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_01Okay, one's for a tooth, maybe.
SPEAKER_00I know. I know I've the other one. Do you know what's funny? When I did the purification rundown, and then when I did the OT drug rundown, literally the only drug I had taken uh was Novocaine. I didn't even pure.
SPEAKER_01I hadn't even drinked Did you get a numb mouth ever when you were in the to in the sauna?
SPEAKER_00I did. And you know what's weird? I mean, this is a niacin thing, it's not a pure thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I had had extreme sunburn, of course, because look at Mark calls me Casper the Friendly Ghost. And so there were some burns that came out that uh from when I was when I got really badly burned when I first came to the US.
SPEAKER_01Okie dokie.
SPEAKER_00It was weird. Anyhow, but so OT4 is somebody, you know, you're the auditor, I'm the pre-clear. We're doing OT4 drug rundown. OT5 is the same, it's with an auditor, they're doing it on you.
SPEAKER_01OT6 is But OT5 isn't isn't is the drugs again? OT5?
SPEAKER_00No, that's new era diagram. Oh, that's right. That's new. Okay. And then uh OT6, you're now doing your more advanced training as a solo auditor to be able to audit yourself. And then OT7, again, you're solo auditing yourself.
SPEAKER_01But to get rid of space cooties again.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01What is what's what is happening on OT6 and seven with those space cooties now?
SPEAKER_00There's just more of them.
SPEAKER_01But I thought you got rid of them already two times before. You got rid of them on OT3, you get rid of them on OT4, you get rid of them on OT5, and now we learn about how we're gonna do more solo auditing, and now boof, we got more space cooties. Yep. Another round of space cooties. Wow, it's like the fifth invasion. It's like what is this? What is slot?
SPEAKER_00It's a lot, it's a lot, it's a lot.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, that's not where we plan to go today, but that's all right.
SPEAKER_01I know, right? Um dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. This is the best, this is it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. With such a dead end conclusion on OT8, how was he expecting to continue his cash flow? I know. Well, you know.
SPEAKER_01This is where the donations and the statues. By the way, look what I did.
SPEAKER_00Oh, look at that. I didn't even notice that. Oh my gosh. I love your stand for it. That's very fancy.
SPEAKER_01You know, I figured out why it was so heavy.
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_01It's marble. The whole bottom base is marble. That whole stand. Look, see how it's engraved? I thought there was a metal plate on there, and I was gonna get a new metal plate to take out all this Scientology nonsense and put on some nice.
SPEAKER_00Can I read what's on there? That's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01Sure. You can read it if you can read it and go over there.
SPEAKER_00Okay, it says the International Association of Scientologists, Platinum Meritorious. Quote. We rise.
SPEAKER_01No, we risk for the first time.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Yes, we rise for the first time in man's history to a new freedom.
SPEAKER_00Unquote. L. Ron Hubbard. We rise for the first time in man's history to a new freedom. Whatever. Like, what does that actually mean? Maybe I mean that could have been said by, you know, the first astronauts, the first pilot.
SPEAKER_01Anyway. And then it has the people's name on it who gave them. I think this is a million dollars.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_01Somebody if somebody knows out there, we did a video on it. We should have remembered. Um, Platinum Meritorious is uh I think it's a million buccarinis. Um my God. Yeah, so that's how they're getting all the money is from getting people to pay one million dollars.
SPEAKER_00But guess what? That trophy says that they are champion, true champions of freedom.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00True champions of freedom.
SPEAKER_01Oh, this is a good one. Apostate Alex has figured it out.
SPEAKER_00Why hasn't OT9 been released yet? Because OT789. See, you know what? Laughter is oxygen. Thank you for sharing that with us, Alex. That was quite funny.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I think we did it. Okay, awesome.
SPEAKER_01What time is it? We got it. We got it. Let's see. Let me I gotta get this over here. Oh, we can do a few more questions.
SPEAKER_00Okay, awesome.
SPEAKER_01Now that I've got them stuck down here.
OT Material Security And Volunteering
SPEAKER_00Oh, Jackson's in the chat. I just it went by, but maybe you can pull up his thing and I'll we can read it. Hey Jackson, thanks for joining us. Uh double wide trailer out by OGH, old Gilman House. Michelle Yeager was the first student to use them, anywho. All right, no, that was not the comment I meant. This one. Hold on, I got it. Hey, you two, just got off work. Y'all are reminding me of the first OT course packs, Karsten, who was a security guard, and I designed and built so they were electronically monitored while stored, and while one was on course in the double wide trailers. Oh, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, basically after the Michelle was the first one to use them.
SPEAKER_00Yes, after the OT level materials were stolen, um, they created a very elaborate security system whereby you literally had to plug in the material, you had to go into a room, the door had to lock behind you, and you had to plug in the materials before you could even open them.
SPEAKER_01It was very and uh when there was a time where you had to take the course pack from the shelf, you had to take it to your desk. Once you unplugged the course pack, you had 30 seconds or you know, certain little limited amount of time to get to a desk and plug it in at the desk. Otherwise, all the doors in the O OT level rooms would all magnetically lock shut up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and security would be called automatically and all that.
SPEAKER_01They had the same things for the films. They had Mission Impossible.
SPEAKER_00That was probably the inspiration for Mission Impossible. They had you know the the the thing where Tom Cruise is coming down on the wire in the room to steal the thing or whatever it was, I don't remember. And I'm not definitely not gonna watch it again.
SPEAKER_01We had to see it three times, babe. I remember.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01Um when uh when you would put in a 16 millimeter film, the binder was the thing that plugged in. So as soon as you took it off the shelf and would open it, you have to put the film up and then close the thing and put it. It was like for a 16 millimeter film.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you had and and it was one of these things like you once you took it off the took the materials off the shelf, you had 60 seconds to plug it into the table, otherwise the alarms would go off. It was very, very elaborate.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Oh, here's one.
SPEAKER_00Uh is there anyone we can contact in Australia to help the Aftermath Foundation? Um if you send an email to contact at the aftermath foundation.org, then we can help you. I'm not quite sure if you're if if that's meaning to volunteer for the Aftermath Foundation or if there's someone who needs help.
SPEAKER_01But either way, can't they go to the volunteer page on the Aftermath Foundation and sign up as a volunteer? Yes. They still have that?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so you can just go to the site. You go to the aftermath uh website and the link's in the description below. We should put a link to Sarah's thing below too, the book.
