Welcome back to Black Blood Heals with your host, Tamara Weston. This week Tamara is joined by Jocelyn Thompson, an advocacy specialist with Be The Match. The story of Henrietta Lacks has been shared time and time again in regards to medical research, her cancer cells, which were taken without her consent have raised important ethical questions about medical research and patient rights. Today Be The Match works with advocates and lawmakers around the country to ensure the safety and ethical treatment of both donors and recipients.
