One surprising aspect that caught us off guard was the sense of isolation we encountered. We underestimated how alone we would feel amidst the chaos and demands of parenting. However, what struck us the most was the realization that most of the surprises we faced had less to do with our precious bundle of joy, Munaui, and more to do with our own personal journeys. It became evident that the scars we carried were not solely physical, like the C-section scar, but also emotional wounds, such as the impact of that life-changing day, struggles with intimacy, and battling depression for both my wife and myself.
