Speaker 1:In each episode, I'll share personal stories of resilient healing tips, practical advice, strategies for managing your time and priorities for improving your relationship with yourself and others, and insights on cultivating a positive and fulfilling joyful life. So grab your earbuds and tea or coffee, take a deep breath and get ready to be inspired and encouraged. Let's begin this journey together and empower each other to become the best versions of our lives. Let's get started. You got this. Hello. How are you? Let me tell you, it has been quite a week and weekend. So much has happened. I don't know about you. How are you feeling? The week is coming soon to an end, it's Tuesday, and I want to ask you this have you been feeling lately stuck? Have you been feeling overworked, burnt out? So I want you to embrace that feeling while you're listening to this episode, because this episode is just for you, you, the person that's been feeling mentally drained, burnt out, feeling stuck. You feel like you put everyone before you but yourself. Keep listening, because this episode is for you.
Speaker 1:I want to inspire you with this episode to explore how to travel soulfully, how soulful travel can help you reconnect with yourself, reconnect with others, gain mental clarity and really get that spark again. And you may say well, how on earth am I going to do this? What is all of this about soulful travel? Well, I want you to discover that you can still have fun, be adventurous, with your travel. So I want to offer you some travel ideas and some tips, as well as being safe, right, we always want to be safe when we are traveling. But I want you to connect with yourself, I want you to have time for yourself, and if you've never traveled alone, I'm not saying you have to, but it's something that I want you to consider in a safe way as well.
Speaker 1:Or if you want to reconnect with one of your friends or a group of your friends, or your bestie, if you want to deepen the relationship. Sometimes we may feel from time to time that we may get a little disconnected from either our best friend or our special person. That could be that you're married, you're engaged, or you are with roommates, right. But sometimes we feel a bit disconnected and sometimes we want to go away just by ourselves in a solo trip, which I got you in this episode to give you some ideas, but also you can do it to have a meaningful trip with maybe your best friend, your girly friend, right? Or maybe it's a sister's trip. Or if you are a guy and you maybe are wanting to go out with the broskies, right, you want to go out with the brothers. That's also some of these tips you can apply to. But this, more specifically, is for my lady friends, my boss, chicas that are out there. This is for you.
Speaker 1:I want you to connect with yourself, to connect with your soul and have a transformative experience with your travel. And sometimes, when we're thinking of travel, we don't think about being transformed in our travel. It can happen, but sometimes we're not intentional about planning a soulful trip where there is a transformation that you from jump from the beginning. You are really planning it ahead and this is going to be a nice series. It's going to be in a few parts, so stay tuned for episode 56, or actually I'm not sure yet if I'm going to do it in 55 and have part one, part two, part three.
Speaker 1:I think I want to just separate it in episodes because, depending where you're at, you may feel that you want to jump to episode 56. This is 55, episode 55. And I want you to really explore this. I want to give you some traveling ideas for this travel, to be very specific, about it being soulful, it being transformative. I want you to go on a transformative journey, whether you're traveling solo all right, chica. Whether you're traveling with friends, with your bestie, your girly friends. Whether you're traveling as a family group right. Or if you're traveling with your partner, with your boo, however you define, some people are in situationships and they still travel.
Speaker 1:So, whatever you decide whether it's solo or you're going to go with someone or a group of people I want this episode to guide you and to give you some tools and ideas on how this could be transformative, not only for you, but also for the people that are in the trip with you that come along, or, if you're going solo, when you come back, that transformative journey that you took, you becoming a better version of yourself, you reconnecting spiritually with yourself. If you feel that you're spiritual, or if you're not spiritual, but in this journey you find yourself being awakened to a level of spirituality or connection with your higher self and a higher being and nature, then that can impact the people that you have meaningful relationships back home, okay. So continue listening, because I want to plan with you your soulful trip, your soulful travel, and let the adventures begin just by this first episode, okay, and then we're going to break it down, as I said, to two or three other episodes, very specific to your needs and where you're at right. So let's start with traveling ideas. When we're thinking about soulful trips, what comes to mind for you. Have you ever taken a soulful trip? Have you ever traveled alone?
Speaker 1:I ask you, and if you have never traveled solo, is it something that interests you or does it scare you? And I know that it could be a little bit scary to do things like that, but I want to encourage you that if it's something that you've been thinking of doing, then do more exploration, searching for yourself. If this is something you want to encourage you, that if it's something that you've been thinking of doing, then do more exploration, searching for yourself. If this is something you want to do, always practicing safety, and what you want to do, it doesn't matter that other people or myself may tell you all of these tips, but what really matters, besides taking the tips and the suggestions, is what do you really want to do? What are you equipped to do? What are you equipped to do financially? What are you equipped to do for yourself? But I want to offer you this moment to explore.
Speaker 1:So, if you are home, just relax and take in some of these nuggets that I'm going to be dropping, and if you want to share with us, you can text. You can text me and you can let me know what are your traveling plans and if you want to share with us, you can text, you can text me and you can let me know what are your traveling plans and if you ever traveled with a soulful mentality right In wanting to connect with your inner self and having the connection with yourself and being by yourself, or if you still want to have that soulful connection, but with your partner, a bestie, a group of people so let me know. Let me know and send me a text, okay, so if you are interested in doing a solo trip for yourself, I would encourage you to do more research. There's so many wellness resorts that are specifically for solo travelers, right, so you can really spend time in your own, you know, in your own time and space in these wellness resorts, which they offer a lot of different activities that are soulful, I would say, and I would think, and that is, there could be yoga, some forms of different meditations, they have spa treatments, and the destinations are endless. Right, you can go to a solo retreat and you can go to different destinations.
Speaker 1:There's so many destinations out there, but I want you to do the research and see where do you want to go, what's in your bucket list. It could be that you want to travel to Bali. It could be that you want to travel to Bali. It could be that you want to travel to Costa Rica right, and all of these are perfect for this type of soulful trip and for you to get rejuvenated. That's so important. And these destinations, they're just beautiful and so many people are going to these retreats that are just for you, by yourself, and you could meet new people.
Speaker 1:So you might be someone that says you know what? I want to take a break from being with family and friends and I just want to get into my own space and I would like to go solo. Then do some of the research, right. Do some Google research. Ask other people that have done it and see if this is something that you want to do. Also, you have to look at your budget. If it's right, some of these could be a little bit more on the scale of a little bit more pricey. I am going to do a whole podcast on affordable, more affordable, economical soulful travel, so stay tuned for that as well.
Speaker 1:So you can also make this soulful trip into an adventurous, soulful trip with your bestie. It could be you and that best friend If it's a circle of three. If it's two or friends, you can make that into a more of an adventurous travel where it can still be soulful, and I am going to have another episode where I'm going to talk about more what kinds of activities you can do, even for yourself, while you are either solo or working, accompany with your bestie, girly friends, your partner, right, and how you can make that into a more soulful, deep meaning trip. Can you visualize that? Visualize yourself doing something solo if you would like, and if that's not your cup of tea, then visualize yourself with your best friend, visualize it with your friends. Or there might be a particular friend, or it might be your boyfriend, your spouse, and you and the person want to go away and have a soulful connection. I want you to visualize that. And if it's with a group of friends, I want you to visualize you.
Speaker 1:Maybe you plan a hiking trip, maybe you do a trip that you guys do hiking. Maybe there's more of group activities in the type of resort that you may want to go or you may want to go to because it's very soulful. Go to retreats that are more about nature, right, that there are hikes, there are rivers, right, you could go canoeing and you can really explore nature and this can help you to really strengthen your bond and deepen your bond with your friends, your bestie or, if it's a family trip as well, just be very intentional. Sometimes we're not intentional about our trips. That's why this, for me, is more of a soulful travel, where you're very intentional about what you're going to do in the trip, as well as the trip having more of a meaningful moments created. Okay, so think about that, because that can really strengthen those bonds and deepen those bonds.
Speaker 1:You also can have some exploration If you are with your partner, if you're with your spouse, with that significant other person, and it's more intimate. Maybe you want to go into more of a retreat or soulful retreat travel where there's more of a cultural exploration, where you can explore other cultures with your partner, and that could be cities and Japan. It could be in Morocco. I want you to really think about how can you travel with your partner, your significant other, and how can you deepen your connection with them. How can you deepen those connections heart to heart, your soul to soul, and share these experiences, which they become lasting memories that you will cherish for years to come, and to really look back and be in awe of what you did with your partner, together or with friends, and then, if you want to, you know I'm going to speak to you.
Speaker 1:If you are thinking that lately you've disconnected a little bit from your spirituality, maybe you can also explore some soulful traveling where there are retreats, right and wellness centers, but that they have more of the spiritual component. It may be a walk where you do meditation. I know that in Spain they have a walk that is very transformative. It's called Camino de Santiago in Spain and that is known to be very transformative. It's a walk that you take together. So think about your spirituality. Some people visit temples where they go and they're very specific to be reawakening, reconnect with your spirituality, and you may decide to do that for yourself, just you, or you may do that with your bestie and decide to do this more of a spiritual retreat together, or you may do it alone. They also have retreats that they're more of silence, that there's not a lot of speaking or no speaking at all. That's also a different type of retreat. So I'm just giving you a good mix of retreat ideas, travel ideas, but for it to be more soulful, I've been thinking about this a lot. At the time that I'm recording this, I'm getting ready to travel myself, and I hope to bring more and more highlights of that in the podcast and possibly on YouTube.
Speaker 1:I want you to really think with your heart, as opposed to so much with your mind. I want you to get connected to your heart. What is your heart saying about how you're feeling? Lately? Have you been feeling lonely? Have you been feeling disconnected? Lately, have you been feeling lonely? Have you been feeling disconnected? Maybe you haven't had a good cry, right, it's not so much that you could be angry or extremely sad, but you just feel sometimes that you want to have like a cleanse. You know how you feel after a good cry, and then you feel there is a chemical reaction that happens and you feel this alleviation. Right, you feel alleviated, you feel like weight has been lifted from your chest.
Speaker 1:So imagine if you were to do this and you go on a trip where you experience fun but, at the same time, you make some deep connections, you meet people that are different than from people that you know and you learn different culture, but all while being safe and having meaningful travel. Right, soulful experience. That's what I want you to be thinking about and possibly being able to do for yourself. Okay, and then there's another type of travel in the soulful journey and soulful traveling, where there's more you immersing, more in nature and you may want to give an opportunity to explore how it would be to be out in nature. It might be that you go out and do something, that it's more out in the woods or in a rainforest. It's more out in the woods or in a rainforest, right, you may be spending more time outside. Or maybe the Canadian Rockies, or maybe the beaches of Thailand, where nature really gives off this sense of peace and harmony and connection to source, connection to a higher power, connection to the vibrations and the energy of the universe, all through nature, the beauty of nature.
Speaker 1:Maybe you want to take photography, even if it's a hobby, and you take photos and make a nice collage of these photos to capture nature and your immersion of yourself in these nature walks and visiting these places that have such beautiful sunsets, such beautiful like Hawaii is another beautiful place. I've gone twice. Oh my God, it really is paradise and it looks so beautiful when the sun sets or the sun rises. They're spectacular, they look like if they're fake. That's the experience that I've had. So these are just a few of the travel ideas that you can have to have a soulful experience.
Speaker 1:And I want you to think about this. Why would you want to do this? You might be thinking I just want to plan a vacation fun. I'm in a resort, we're dancing, doing the hula dance and different things like that, and that's great. But I want want to plan a vacation fun. I'm in a resort, we're dancing, doing the hula dance and different things like that, and that's great. But I want you to think a little deeper. We've overcame right the pandemic. These four years has been gruesome, and I want you to think about what is meaningful for you. Do you need some time for yourself? Maybe in this time, in this solo traveling, maybe you write a book, maybe you continue writing a book, maybe you decide to change careers.
Speaker 1:There's so much that can happen in trips like this, especially if you dictate together. You decide not dictate, but together decide of what you're going to work on when you come from these nature walks or when you come from exploring. Then what can you do back at the resort? What can you do back at the retreat together, even if you do it for yourself and you don't necessarily get involved in a class that they may have there. Sometimes they do, and if you have the money to splurge to do that and invest that, that is great. And invest in doing a yoga class there could be some meditation. But there are also things you can do for yourself and I think I'm going to unpack that even more when I talk about the economics right and finding more economic or even staycations that you can do and still have a soulful experience as well. But why would you want to do this?
Speaker 1:I want you to think about it, and there's benefits to traveling this way where it's about connecting with the soul, connecting with nature, connecting with yourself, whether solo, or wanting to deepen your relationship with someone else and take this type of journey for it to lend itself, to deepen your meaningful relationship and or have a reconnection. Some people are rekindling friendships, some people are rekindling relationships that they were in, and what better way than to have a soulful journey where you can do this type of soulful travel? So the benefits is that for you, you can really have an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, right, and it helps you to connect with yourself, connect with your desires, take out the noise, get out of your comfort zone, because when we're in discomfort or we do something new where it feels a little odd and we have to take time to acclimate to it, that's where we mostly grow. So you can really have some self-discovery. While you do this type of trip, you can also have the experience of a new environment. It's a new place. You're going to meet new people and it can really give you and if you go with others, give you all a new perspective as individuals, a new perspective on life. You can really reset your mind right and your mindset, give yourself a refresher mentally. You can gain some mental clarity. That's another benefit and definitely traveling with others can give you this sense of closeness with that other person or people. Those relationships can really come more close and you can have more of a meaningful bond.
Speaker 1:So another benefit of this travel is really you getting your connections to be better, to give it like a boost, to make it more deep and strengthen them more. Think about that best friend or think about that friend that you maybe have been feeling a little disconnected and you're like, wow, the way we used to be. Well, we could never be exactly what we were, but you can have a new version of the relationship to another level, where it's more deep, there's more connection, whether it's with a friend, a bestie, it could be a sister of yours right, it could be a family trip where it's your parents with the kids right, it could be you and your boo. Like I said, however, you call your partner and really have fun, but get more intentional about the trip. Another benefit is that you can visit some of these places as you explore, and maybe you're visiting some spiritual spots, right, some spiritual places that can really offer you some time for you to connect with nature, for you to really get a sense of your spirituality. So you may want to do right. Your spirituality may need a renewal and in this type of trip, you can plan for that.
Speaker 1:And I also believe that these types of trips that I'm talking about, the soulful trips where you are reconnecting with yourself, whether it's solo or with others, it can also increase your own level of self-love and self-care. You can also get like a boost in your confidence. It can help you to look at the obstacles and challenges of traveling solo or with others and you can really see yourself and get into it and problem solve and it can really give you this sense of independence. Sometimes folks, when they travel with others, you may lean on your spouse or a friend or whoever to do certain things, but if you do a solo trip, it's all you, babe, right, it's all you. So this can increase your confidence. You may need a boost of that.
Speaker 1:Or it could be, like I said, with a group of friends and still, as individuals, you're going to have an individual experience where you can boost your own confidence and self-love and self-worth and self-care in exploring and being out there time to reflect as well. If you're with a group of friends or your partner, they can also, as individuals, have these benefits and if you go by yourself when you come back from this trip, you can still benefit other individuals First you. But you can reap some of the benefits in coming back more refreshed, more renewed, with mental clarity, right, maybe, aligning your spirituality right With source, with spirituality with nature, and being now more clear. I've known people that have gone also, even on cruises, and gone to Alaska and watched the whales and just They've described it as breathtaking, as something like a bigger force, and just them saying like, wow, we're part of nature. All of this is so invigorating and it changes people's perspectives when they come back from these trips. Now it can still be fun.
Speaker 1:However, it's more intended for it to be trips that are spiritual, soul-finding, right, you reconnect with your own soul, reconnect with your why? Right, like why are you on this planet? Right, giving thanks and gratitude when you explore and you go around the world to another place around the world or, as I'm going to do, an episode, if this is that you stay local or it's a staycation, there could still be so much inner exploration that changes your whole perspective and outlook on life and help you to get unstuck. If you've been feeling stuck, if you've been feeling that you're burnt out, okay, and I want to offer you, lastly, some, some tips about right, how can you really have fun but, at the same time, make sure that you are practicing safety. Whether you're doing this solo or with other individuals, we always want you to be safe and always, always know that you are someone that, wherever you go, right, you want to be respected and you want to respect others, right, different cultures, different norms. So you always want to do, firstly, some research about where you're going so you can really prepare yourself and plan ahead, because different places have different cultural norms and you just want to be very respectful and mindful of that. You also want to make sure that when you know where you're going to go on these soulful travel, these soulful retreats, that you are very specific about the destination.
Speaker 1:If it's more than one, where are you going to go? And to have emergency contacts right, you need to have emergency contacts. If you listen close, I said plural contacts, not just one person. So just make sure that you have a few people back home you can right If something happens, that you have their information. And also make sure that the information is not only on your phone, that you have it down and it takes us back, like when we were in school right, we were young, but you can use index cards or anything else like that because you can lose your phone or you can your phone could, something can happen and it's not working and all of your contacts are on your phone. So get you know a little. You know a little notebook or something where there's contacts or if someone finds it, that they can reach out for you with your full name and the person of contact. That's a great travel tip and also stay connected.
Speaker 1:Make sure that you, for whoever you leave back home, that you can share what you're going to be doing, the different locations that you're going to be, because, just in case anything happens, they know, oh, on day two she was going to be here, he was going to be here. So make sure that you are connecting and you share what your itinerary is with someone back home, or with two people back home. Okay, I also suggest for you to pack intelligent, easy way. So make sure that you bring all of the essentials that you need for the different types of weather that they could be, that you can encounter the weather conditions depending where you're going to be at. So, ahead of time, you need to know what month you're going to go and in that month, for the different destinations or just one place, what's the weather like for that place. So make sure that you're wise about your packing. Okay, pack with water. Make sure that you have all of that.
Speaker 1:And for some people they don't get travel insurance, but I always highly recommend that it's. It really makes sense and it could be a nice, a nice security for you to have travel insurance. It gives you this peace of mind and to know that if something should happen, a cancellation or anything should happen last moment, just be mindful about the travel insurance that you may need if you want to take it out and if you don't, then just make sure that you know with the retreat place that you're going or, if there's airline tickets, what is the cancellation and by when. Do all of that ahead of time so you can have what Fun you can have fun in your travel and budget wisely, budget carefully for you, for your lifestyle, your level of lifestyle. My mom and a shout out to my mom mami, te quiero mucho, besitos. I love you so much, mami.
Speaker 1:My mom always taught us about envelopes and you can get these envelopes on Amazon, or regular envelopes or plastic envelopes, however you want, and you can really plan ahead when you're planning for this traveling before saving money up, and you can put envelopes with different titles, different things, right for food, for excursions, for different activities, conversions for different activities and also when you're traveling. You can have that and be always very careful with where you put these envelopes. Make sure if it's in a retreat, they have a safety box. You can have that, or you can travel with something to keep it safe and always have some extra cash because you never know. You should have like an emergency extra cash because you never know. You should have like an emergency money that you don't touch, that you just do for in case of an emergency during the trip. Just be very aware of that in your budgeting for this.
Speaker 1:I remember that when my husband and I a few years ago not a few, it's been a while we went to Disney just us two for one of my milestone birthdays and we both went and we did what my mom showed me, which is doing envelopes. So we had different envelopes for different activities that we were going to do, and also we wanted to find dine right, maybe twice within that seven day week not every day For you it could be every day if you would like to. But what I found interesting was that when we returned from that seven day trip, we still came home with a few envelopes. One had a few dollars, another one had a $20 bill. It was just amazing because we were like, wow, we didn't even spend all of the money because we calculated on average what we wanted to spend for activities, for dining right, for the hotel stay, we did a road trip. So for gas, right, how much it would be the rental of the car. We had envelopes for all of that where we separated the money, and what that helped us to do is not to dip so much into the savings because we already had the money calculated.
Speaker 1:That may work for you. You may do it differently. These are just options. Please, whatever you do when you go on this soulful travel, don't feel that if something goes wrong oh, smiley told me to do this. No, I am giving suggestions. You plan ahead at your own discretion, with your own risk. Right, because you have to be mindful as well. As when you're doing these excursions, if you have health issues, always speak with your doctor. Make sure that you bring your medications. If you have medication, make sure that you get enough rest, that you stay hydrated, that you're eating well, because it depends. You might be doing hiking, you might be doing coyote, you might be doing long walks. If you have health situations, it doesn't matter your age. It's across age groups, right, you may have back issues, you may have issues with your knee and you're in your 20s. You may have other issues. You're later, over 40, or you might be 19, 20 years old and thinking, oh, I'm great, but if you have certain conditions, certain allergies, just be very mindful of that. So I hope that this episode helped you.
Speaker 1:I believe that you can have a great time in your solo trip. Or, if you decide to do this with your bestie or girly friend or your sister or friends together, or it could be a family soulful trip, it could really be something that transformed your family and you can have an absolutely transformative journey. Even if you feel that you're like, well, I want to have fun. I don't want to think about some deep reflective questions for myself. Well, the point of this soulful travel is for it to be different than anything else you've done before. Or if you've already done something like this before, let me know in the text share best practices, how did you enjoy it? Give it a try.
Speaker 1:Whether you do it solo or you do it in company of more people, I think it's worth you taking, even if it's once in your lifetime, a trip that is more than just partying, clubbing or more than just you laying by the beach, and there's nothing wrong with that. But I want you to know that you can have more meaning and be intentional about your travels and to be open-minded to meeting new people, learning new cultural norms, learning more about the human being that may be across the world from you, where you were, or maybe it's in your own local place, but you never took an opportunity to discover, possibly even a gem that you have right there in your local state or in your local city. So just be more open, okay, so the next episode I am going to discuss more economical, right, because here we were talking about Thailand, we were talking about Japan, and all of that is great, but I want you to have a great time planning, and I want you to planning according to your budget and your lifestyle, and you could do both. You can have a luxurious travel and then the following year have another one that's economical or staycation, but I want you to embrace this soulful traveling. That's what I want you to get accustomed to doing, even if you do it once a year or every other year, and even if you do this in different parts, maybe with your family once, and then another year you do a solo or with one person, and just keep it of two, maybe two friends or your bestie. I just want you to have a sense of connecting on a deeper level while you're traveling. It's just so beautiful, and I will do another episode on how can you prepare for that.
Speaker 1:But the next episode, episode 56, I am going to giving you more ideas. If you want to do something more economical, right, but still have this soulful travel and have it in a way that it's budget friendly to you and to people that maybe travel with you, but still you have a good time, Okay. So I wanted to keep this short and simple. Stay tuned to episode 56,. Stay tuned to episode 57 and 58, because I'm going to go even further on helping you to plan out this whole soulful travel. So I hope that you love this episode. I hope that if it's something different, give it a try, right, or even just start thinking about it, maybe for next year, maybe this is something you do next year, but I want you to think about it. Soulful traveling I want you to engage with your spirituality, with your soul, with your purpose, right? So stay tuned for the other episodes that are following this one.
