This podcast features travel-inspired hypnosis, real client sessions, belief-shifting travel stories and interviews with experts who are shaping the world of conscious living. All right, it's time to journey within and go beyond. To journey within and go beyond. We've all been there.

Nicole Hernandez:

You're really invested in a project and someone makes a comment or gives feedback that feels like criticism or maybe someone really did criticize you and suddenly that inner critic starts to replay the situation, especially on those long nights when you're staring at the ceiling and it's as if that little inner critic is just feeding on all the negativity and you just start noticing that you're spiraling down. You might notice that your confidence begins to crumble and your self-doubt starts to creep in, and you might even get to the place of just questioning your worth and what you bring of value to a situation. Now, I have to confess, this recently happened to me. This recently happened to me. I have been working tirelessly on a hotel project and I have invested so many hours in this project and actually the portion which I usually truly love doing was reassigned to someone else and I felt crushed and so passionless for a couple weeks. And someone from the project called me and they said come on, we need to get your spirits back up. You're Nicole Hernandez and I sat there after the call and I'm just thinking through what did that mean to actually be Nicole Hernandez?

Nicole Hernandez:

You know what does that mean? What do I bring to the project? And I could sense myself kind of going through my past history, through my projects in the past, and reclaiming these resources that I clearly have and that are very noticeable to other people. But for whatever reason in this situation I had just kind of lost my grasp of them. So that creativity, the strategy, and I also realized that I needed to also put my ego to the side here for a moment, because if this was coming up, then maybe this also meant that I was going to be learning something new and maybe improving in a way that I wasn't even aware of yet. Now, this whole experience reminded me of a quote that says put on your crown and remember who you are, and this idea of reclaiming your power and putting on your crown is a really powerful metaphor. And wouldn't you know it?

Nicole Hernandez:

Just a couple of weeks later, I was actually at the Royalton Park Avenue Hotel in New York City. I was moving through my latest brand photo shoot, and here the hotel's brand essence is all about a sense of majesty in New York City, and so I thought how fun I can actually put all of these pieces together and you can move through this with me. So in today's hypnosis, we'll be virtually visiting the Royalton Park Avenue Hotel together, and through this hypnotic adventure we'll be taking, we're going to work on reclaiming your power, especially if you've recently felt criticized. Go ahead and find a nice, comfortable place where it's safe for you to close your eyes, a place where it feels good for you to lie down or recline, and with your eyes closed now you can begin to relax and become more aware of some things than you were before the sounds in the room, the sound of my voice, and the thoughts and the images that drift into the mind, because, with the eyes closed, it becomes easier and easier to become more aware of a variety of things that would have otherwise gone overlooked. And in this way, you can learn even more than before about your own ability to relax and let go, and the mind begins to flow down towards that place of quietness and calm awareness, as if it was traveling now into a place of effortless relaxation, a place where you can allow events to occur that allow you to transform deep within.

Nicole Hernandez:

And I'd like you to take a nice deep breath in your body now and, as you exhale, allow your mind to begin to create the idea. And, as you exhale, allow your mind to begin to create the idea, the image to take you and allow you to travel all the way to New York City on a beautiful spring day and you can hear the traffic passing, the taxis, the Ubers, and you can get a sense of people walking on the streets, walking their dogs and runners headed to Madison Square Park. And you can find yourself on Park Avenue now, right in front of the Royalton Park Avenue Hotel, and the door opens for you, and as you walk inside, you can notice the sun-drenched lobby. You can notice the curvature of the sofas and the plants surrounding the area, just making you feel as if you stepped into a little piece of tranquility here in New York City. And as you begin to walk towards the elevator, you can notice a room key has appeared in your hand. Notice, a room key has appeared in your hand and you can press the elevator button now and step in. And as you do, you can find yourself pressing the number five and getting a sense that the elevator is beginning to ascend.

Nicole Hernandez:

One, two, each floor, taking you deeper into a state of calm. Three, four, the hum of the city just fades into silence and it's replaced by a peaceful solitude that begins to envelop you, allowing you to reconnect with your inner self in this serene place. And five, now arriving on your floor and walking down the hall and finding your suite there. And as you open the door now, you can walk in and notice a beautiful king-size bed with crisp white sheets and a little magenta-colored pillow there in the center. And as you look towards the window, you can notice the white flowing curtains.

Nicole Hernandez:

And there, perched near the window, you find a beautiful carved box, as if it was bathing in light and, drawn by curiosity, you approach it and you bring it to sit on the bed. And as you lift the lid, you reveal a majestic crown. And as you notice this crown with sparkling jewels, you can get a sense that this crown symbolizes something very important for you, a sense of dignity that's been waiting here for you to reclaim it. And almost intuitively, you reach down and place the crown on your head and you can notice the light weight that's just reassuring, a sense of things that feel a little bit more solid for you. And you can look in the mirror now and just get a sense of how that crown looks on your head, get a sense of the tone of the metal, notice how the light reflects on it, and you can begin to get a greater sense now that, with this crown on, you can see yourself with more clarity and objectivity. There's a sense of royalty that you feel, a sense of dignity that you have reclaimed.

Nicole Hernandez:

You can find it easier now to sift through those past remarks, those comments, those words that perhaps caused you to question yourself, begin to look at them as if they were almost like coins, and you can get a sense of which of those coins are real and have merit and weight, and which of those coins are simply made of plastic as if they were children's toys, as if they were children's toys. So, sifting through each one of those comments and beginning to separate what's really fact, maybe what you've heard similar feedback on before, getting a sense of what elements here are actually true, and getting a sense now of what's false, what's fiction, perhaps the additional beliefs that you brought into these comments of I'm never enough or I'll never get it right or I can never please anyone. Just get a sense of what shows up in your mind. And as you complete this now, as you have now sorted through what is fact and what is fiction, you can understand that there are, at times, genuine areas for growth and there are also unfounded criticisms. So just imagine that you can take all those untrue comments about yourself and I want you to visualize them shrinking down and down and down, so small to the size of a little fleck of dust, and and allow that to begin to move across the room as if it were floating now right into the recycle bin. You can see it and get a sense of it there now and check in with yourself, noticing which parts of your body are already feeling lighter, notice if there's more space in your chest, notice if you can breathe deeper now into your body. And as you look back at yourself in the mirror now with more awareness than before, you can get the sense that you are worthy, that you have always been worthy and you will continue to be worthy, regardless of anyone's feedback or criticism.

Nicole Hernandez:

And as you really get that sense inside of you that you are worthy, I want you to notice that the jewels on your crown begin to light up and each jewel reflects a personal strength. And as you observe those jewels, you can determine which strengths they represent for you. Perhaps one is resilience, another humor, another wisdom. Another jewel represents compassion stem, another jewel represents compassion. Just get a sense of what each jewel represents to you and notice them glowing brightly and you can take a nice deep, restorative breath into your body now, just feeling a sense of completeness.

Nicole Hernandez:

And when you're ready you can exit the suite, you can walk back to the elevator and as it descends, five, four, bringing with you a renewed sense of self-worth and a deeper inner confidence. Three, two and each floor grounds you more deeply, reconnecting you with the physical world. As the doors open, one and go ahead and take a nice deep breath into your body, filling the solid ground beneath you and getting a sense that the majestic essence of the Royalton Park Avenue and that experience of wearing your crown are already within you. And when you're ready, you can gently open your eyes and you can begin to fully awaken now and you can carry this renewed peace and confidence into every moment of your day.
